Description:

Update – January 2021
I currently have room for two children(ages 12 months and older). I am a SC registered provider.
My family relocated to Fort Mill in August of 2014 and we love it here! I’ve alwaysenjoyed being with children and believe it stems from having 34 first cousins. After we had our first, I found a whole new love for teaching children. I decided to switch from a career in teaching golf to taking care of children. I have cared for over 58 children in the last 14+ years and still love it! I grew up in Hartford, Vermont and still have ties up north but now live in Fort Mill. We all enjoy being outside and keeping active. In our free time, we like playing sports (our favorites are golf, ice and field hockey, lacrosse, skiing, softball), biking, rollerblading, swimming and walking. We are open to try pretty much anything.
After we had our daughter and talked with some friends, I decided to start up an in-home daycare in 2005. There seemed to be a shortage of good providers in our town, so it didn’t take long before I was full. I decided to get registered in 2010 and enrolled in the state food program in 2011. It helped teach me what I want my program to be. I’ve been lucky in finding respectful and loving families that have actually become a part of our own. Taking care of children is now the only thing I can see myself doing. While it’s fun for me to watch them grow, I also find it rewarding to care for them and teach them all I can. It’s kind of ironic, while I try to teach them new things, they in turn teach me just as much.
I’ve also found it rewarding to be an active part of my girl’s lives. I’ve been lucky to find time to be their school’s PTA Treasurer, coached field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse. I want them to enjoy this time in their lives and know how important they are to me. They have truly changed my life in a way that only a parent could understand and I hope someday they get to experience the same kind of love. All the kids in our lives mean this much to me- from the kids I’ve coached to the kids I’ve cared for. Please contact me with any questions you may have….

Recent Review:

My kids fell in love at first sight with Jessica, her family & home. She watched our 2.5-4 yo son, prepared him for successful lift off & start for preschool & Kindergarten. The most arts & crafts I have keptfor a sentimental keepsake are from Kobe’s Kiddos. She’s very energetic, positive & creative. She is the best one in the area that we have found. We highly recommend Jessica. Currently we still keep in touch….

Redefining the Classroom Experience

Ivybrook Academy Fort Mill offers students the opportunity to explore the world around them – both inside and outside the classroom. Weather permitting, we frequently take our learning outdoors and make nature our classroom. Children can learn so much just from observing how the world works, which is why we don’t confine our curriculum solely to the classroom. Children have a natural curiosity about the world and their physical environment offers a rich resource for exploration and inquiry.

Our Curriculum

Our Fort Mill PreSchool draws upon three progressive educational philosophies: Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and the Theory of Multiple Intelligences.

  • Reggio Emilia – This approach allows students to learn at their own pace and invites teachers and families to participate in a collaborative effort. Peer interaction is one of the foundations of this progressive method.
