    Oceanside Unified School District

The Oceanside Unified School District is one of 42 public school districts in San Diego County. The district consists of 23 school sites – 16 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools (Oceanside High School and El Camino High School) and one alternative high school. OUSD is home to nearly 21,000 students in the Oceanside community.

The diverse student population includes about 4,000 students from Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The district’s three largest student populations include Hispanic students (55%), Caucasian (27%) and African American students (8%).

OUSD employs nearly 3,100 individuals, with nearly 1,900 employees falling under the category of certificated personnel (teachers and administrators). Geographically, the district covers roughly 66 square miles in the north county.

The mission of the OUSD is to ensure that every student graduates and has the ability to succeed in the global community. The preliminary general operating fund budget for the 2008-09 school year is $168 million, and the per pupil expenditure is $8,200.

In June 2008, Oceanside voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition H (71%), a $195 million school bond measure. The monies generated from this bond will allow the district to continue the modernization process for 16 campuses, a renovation program that began with the passing of Proposition G (69%) in 2000, a $125 million measure.

OUSD is committed to providing a rigorous curriculum and enriching extracurricular activities to help guide our students to bright futures. The district offers a number of challenging programs at the elementary and secondary levels. More information.

Today, Webb Schools has about 400 children aged 14-17 from 12 states in America and 18 countries around the world. The American city of Claremont, where The Webb Schools is located, is like a green island in the middle of an urban landscape. Surrounded by perennial oaks and tall eucalyptus trees, The Webb Schools covers an area of 30 hectares, which houses educational buildings, 10 residences, sports fields, two theaters, a swimming pool and a full-fledged museum of paleontology.

The Webb Schools is ready to offer a broad fundamental education with serious academic preparation and a high proportion of independent research. The school tries not only to prepare its students for admission to the best national and international universities, but also to teach them the qualities of true leaders, so in demand in our dynamic world, where personal consciousness and fortitude are put above all else.

The Webb Schools places great emphasis on art and music. The ability to think outside the box, implement your own ideas and find innovative solutions is the quality of a true leader. That’s why art is one of the most important aspects of education, according to Webb. Here, art classes are not an additional subject to the main program: each student is required to undergo a two-year training in this subject.

Vibrant Los Angeles – just an hour from the school. On weekends, The Webb Schools students relax on the beaches of Laguna Beach, spend time in Hollywood or in Los Angeles museums. And during the winter months, ski and snowboard at Big Bear.
