We also focus on important people, past events, where we live (map of the USA and World) holidays and more! We include music time and reading time, as well as, arts & crafts! The kids that attend our classes look forward to coming to my home everyday and I love that! They are excited to play/interact with the friends they have made here. Additionally, they learn to develop social skills and how to cope with being away from home for a little while. You can expect your child(ren) to be busy each day. We also engage in fun activities, like puzzles and games. Additionally, I provide a healthy snack while they are here and we always provide some outdoor/play time (weather permitting). When the holidays are here, we like to provide a fun party to celebrate! (This would be for Valentines Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas). We also try to take a field trip 2-3 times a year. Notices for those/permission slips will be sent home at the time of the trip. My home is a safe place to learn, to play and to grow. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outside play. I am located in a very friendly & safe neighborhood in Layton. If you need any references, just let me know. East Layton, UT

This article is about the former city in Utah. For the village in England, see East Layton.

East Layton is a former city in Davis County, Utah, United States. Next to Layton, this was incorporated in 1936 to provide funding for the community’s water system. East Leighton remained a small, steadily growing residential town for decades, becoming a city in 1972. Rapid expansion in the 1970s led to a merger in 1981 with Layton, now the most populous city in Davis County and one of the largest in Utah.

East Late extended between the Ferfield Roads to the east, where Cherry Lane, the city’s main street, passes. The boundaries were uneven, but extended as far as Antelope Drive (2000 N) and south to Gentile Street (North-South of Layton’s origin. grid plan, now Utah Route 109). East Layton Elementary School and Adams Reservoir are attractions located inside the former city limits, totaling just under 2 square miles (5.2 km). 2 ). [2] City offices were located at 1010 N Emerald Drive (coordinates 41°04′28″N 111°56′07″W / 41.07444°N111. 93528 °W / 41.07444; -111.93528), in the southwest corner of Andy Adams Park. The building now houses a kindergarten.

History

The East Leighton area was settled along with Leyton as a result of Kaysville beginning in the 1850s. When Leyton was amalgamated in 1920, East Leyton remained a separate, rural unincorporated area with a few residents.

Foundation

The local water supply was unreliable, a common problem in Utah. desert climate. Wells at the end of the summer, the streams often dried up, and water had to be brought to the houses by hand. Lifetime resident David Green envisioned the city’s water supply coming from Crooked Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains to the east. K 19In the 30s, many of Green’s neighbors were interested, but Utah’s banks were lending very little money due to the Great Depression. Public works funding was available through the federal Works Progress Administration (WPA), but only for embedded municipalities. In January 1936, 53 East Leighton residents signed a petition to form a city to fund the water system. On April 2, 1936, the city of East Leighton was incorporated and David Green became city council president. [2] [3]

In 1937, East Leighton voters unanimously supported the bond measure, and the WPA approved the city’s loan application. The money, however, came slowly. City council members contacted Henry H. Blood, a native of Caseville and later Governor of Utah, and asked for help. Blood was able to use his influence to speed up the process, and the East Leighton water project continued. David Green was the overseer, supervising a rotating team of workers whose wages were paid by the WPA. They laid sewer pipes from the mouth of Crooked Canyon to a reservoir on Valley View Drive on the eastern edge of the city. The wooden overpass crossed the gorge along the way. Due to the rugged terrain, digging was difficult and progress was slow. Expenses were rising and money was running out. The State of Utah provided additional support, matching funds for donations from East Layton families. By the time it was completed, the WPA had covered about 60% of the costs. 9Pop. 1940 124 — 1950 217 75.0% 1960 444 104.6% 1970 763 71.8% 19000 3.531 362.8%

Esthelon began, and after the unceiver, it was first reduced as an unexpected reservoir, and after its expirational unit, and after its exposure, and after its intensity, and after the its in 1936 to 124 in 1940. [2] From 1940 to 1950, while Leighton’s population increased fivefold, East Leighton’s population less than doubled. Such growth characterized much of the city’s history. At 19In 63, the city completed the construction of an expanded reservoir, a sewerage system and an expanded water supply system in 1969.
