Your Child’s Place is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years with complex medical needs. We are located just off of the Murtland Avenue exit of Interstate 70 and easilyaccessible from Route 19 and I-79. Your Child’s Place is licensed by the Department of Health and the Department of Public Welfare. The center provides skilled pediatric nursing care in addition to educational instruction in a child care setting. The children can receive all of their therapies at Your Child’s Place as deemed necessary through our partnerships with Early Intervention, Intermediate Unit, and the Washington Health System Children s Therapy Center.
The care we provide at Your Child’s Place is completely FREE to eligible families!! The medical services are prescribed by the child’s physician, and billed to the insurance. The only stipulation is that the parent(s) must be working while the care is provided. The types of nursing services we can provide include, but are not limited to: Close communication with the child’s physician, daily nursing assessments and monitoring, medication administration, tube feeding administration and care, tracheostomy care, ventilator/CPAP/oxygen care, IV therapy/central line therapy, apnea monitoring, Synagis administration, and colostomy/catheter care. Care at the center is provided by registered nurses who operate under a medical director.
Our facility has been in operation for nearly ten years. Your Child’s Place has a secure locked entrance that is monitored for safety, hospital grade ventilation and filtration system, heated flooring, wall oxygen and suction hookups, and boasts two playgrounds with equipment uniquely designed for children with special needs. Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Interactive Kindergarten (5–6 Years)

Kindergarten is a critical year for young learners. Experienced KinderCare teachers will
tap into your child’s natural curiosity to help get them even more prepared for
elementary school. Our engaging lessons make the most of current technology while
offering plenty of hands-on play and exploration.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and

Are meals included in tuition? Can I choose to send my child with lunch?

We provide nutritious meals and snacks developed by a registered dietician to meet the needs of rapidly growing bodies and minds. If your child has special dietary requirements and you would prefer to bring in their lunch, please make arrangements with the center director.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Every child begins toilet learning at a different age. Until your child shows an interest in toilet learning, we’ll provide diaper changes on an as-needed basis. When your child shows an interest, we’ll discuss how to work together to encourage toilet learning.

A wonderful place

The park is wonderful, it feels like there were grandiose plans when it was created. This can be seen from the photographs of past years, for example, there was a pond with carps. There is a reservoir, but it does not function. There are not enough workers to keep this park in perfect condition. But still I rate this place as excellent. I was especially delighted by the collection of coniferous trees, here it is impeccably kept, it is such a joy for the eyes!

Nice American Park

Quite typical of Americans – there are roads for cars and few footpaths for the horseless. Impressive fauna and plants, they are well maintained and fit wonderfully into the landscape. In general, it is large, but it is possible to get around it in a couple of hours. Quiet and you can really forget about everything. Of the minuses, it’s hard to find food if you don’t take it with you, it’s almost impossible to get to the river and the view of it is blocked by trees, transport accessibility is only for cars, since the metro is far away, although there is a bus on weekends.

The cleanest air, silence and magnificent landscapes. There is no feeling of artificiality, as in some landscape parks. Collections pass one into another imperceptibly, as in nature. Behind the honey steppe, a coniferous forest appears, and then thin-stemmed oriental trees descend to the river. And the meadow in front of the river. I am delighted.

Huge beautiful park 2016 • With friends

Huge territory of the national park in the city. You can walk, ride a bike, sit or even lie down. You can come here for the whole day, or for a couple of hours. Alone or with family (or with a group of friends). Have a great time in nature.

A little advice – first you should look at the Visitor Center, take maps, ask what is the best thing to see and then go to explore the park.
It is also worth taking food with you if you plan to spend a day there, and mosquito repellent.

In general, the place is interesting, I won’t say that it is mandatory, but rather for a nature lover or a botanist.

Great place for kids to run.

July 2022 • Family Vacation

We stopped at the US Arboretum on our way to DC with my extended family and two nieces under the age of three. The girls had a place to run and play. The bonsai exhibit was phenomenal. The only downside was that the sign was a little unclear. It would be difficult if we couldn’t read mathematics effectively. My parents plan to return and spend extra time when they have the opportunity.

Washington DC childcare crisis leaves nearly 550,000 children without care

TACOMA, WA – August 25, 2020 – Thousands of children across Washington cannot attend licensed day care centers because our state’s child care system cannot meet the needs of working families. Nearly 550,000 children under the age of 12 do not have access to child care, despite the fact that 60% of children aged 0-12 in Washington live in homes where all adults work.

The COVID-19 pandemic has further reduced our childcare offering because some providers have been reluctant to close their doors due to financial hardship of not having enough children to care for as some working parents keep their children at home are afraid of the virus or actual exposure to the virus. Since March, up to 24 percent of licensed childcare programs have closed in Washington. Currently, 18 percent of child care programs in our state are closed and do not serve children.

Now that most school districts have moved to distance learning, parents are trying to create childcare plans for school-age children, but there are even fewer options than there were before COVID-19. For those families who find care for their school-aged children, they will face the additional challenge of paying for child care during the hours when their children would normally go to school. This is a huge financial burden for middle class families. Child Care Aware of Washington helps caregivers who want to provide full-time care for school-age children with the necessary preparations, and our Family Center helps families find care options for their school-age children near them.

“Today, the report of the Joint Child Care Task Force illustrates the depth of the child care crisis in Washington. The supply of quality, affordable child care services has not met the needs of our working families for decades. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated situation as some childcare programs have been forced to make the financial decision to close their doors,” said Deann Burtch Puffert, Child Care Aware WA’s chief executive. “Everyone at Child Care Aware FOR is working to help keep programs that want to stay open, stay open, and connect families to childcare near them.”

Nearly half of Washington’s licensed childcare facilities report they are at risk of permanent closure due to the devastating effects of the pandemic. The loss of these high-quality programs would cause significant damage to Washington’s economy because working parents cannot work when they are unable to care for their children.

Our nation’s childcare crisis already cost employers $2.08 billion in direct costs in 2017 and $6.5 billion in direct and opportunity costs, says 2019 reportyear, Child Care Installation Costs from the Washington State Department of Commerce and other organizations that are members of the State Joint Task Force on Child Care.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has added stress and uncertainty to what an industry assessment has shown is already a fragile child care system,” said Ryan Prisco, three-time Chair of the Child Care Aware Working Group on Child Care, Ryan Prisco, director of policy and advocacy for WA. “Investment is needed to keep our childcare system running. An investment in the childcare industry is an investment in every other industry because childcare supports all employers.”
