However, they are all paid and cost about the same. Corporate gardens are a little more expensive, and charity gardens are a little cheaper. A kindergarten at the church is financially the most profitable option, but parents should understand that children will be given the basics of the Bible there.

In everyday life, according to Svetlana Bobrova, Russian kindergartens are more convenient than American ones.

– I once formulated for myself that the school system in Russia is difficult to save, but the preschool system has good potential. In terms of the material base in Russia, everything is done very conveniently. But the size of the group can and should be changed, as well as the qualifications of the staff. If you add humanization to Russian kindergartens, then they will become a great place for kids,” says Svetlana Bobrova.

In the States, educators are constantly improving their skills. This is done over the internet. People who work with children are provided with updated scientific data about how children develop, how their brains work, how they change.

— We regularly take online courses, which contain a lot of information about what works and how, about how to properly communicate with children. When we started doing this, I was not the only one who had the impression: damn it, if teachers and educators in Russia were told this, a lot would be different, – says Svetlana Bobrova.

American children get sick too, but parents treat it differently. In America, no one will sit at home for weeks with a child who has snot. Moreover, recalculation for missed days is not made. Missing a lot is simply unprofitable, and if both parents work, then it is impossible. Therefore, American parents can, for example, bring down the temperature of a sick child in the morning and take them to kindergarten. But if in the kindergarten they notice that the child is sick, then the parents are obliged to pick him up.

The number of caregivers in a group depends on age. For children under 2. 5 years old, the proportion is one to five: five kids – one adult, the maximum number in a group is 10 children. — I work in a group where children are from 2.5 to 5 years old. If I have 10 children, then I am alone. If, for example, 11 comes, then another teacher joins, – explains Svetlana Bobrova.

Everything happens much earlier in the States than in Russia. Children go to kindergarten until the age of five. At the age of five, they go to school, first it is the “zero” grade, then the first (at six years old), the second, and so on. Garden graduates must know the alphabet (including the correspondence of letters and sounds), as well as be able to count to ten and back. In the kindergarten where Svetlana Bobrova works, the load is double – the children are given the same things in Russian.

— In America, many Russian-speaking families strive to keep their children in Russian. Children very quickly switch to English and stop speaking Russian. I developed a special program for my group. Its essence lies in the combination of American requirements and similar Russian knowledge. For example, if children must know the English alphabet, then in parallel we give Russian letters and sounds. We do all this, of course, in a playful way. We glue, draw, sculpt letters and numbers,” says Svetlana Bobrova.

Children from Russian-speaking families are read Chukovsky and Marshak, as well as Russian folk tales. All this is done to instill cultural things that are understandable to any Russian. In addition, they try to introduce borscht and other soups into the diet in such a kindergarten.
