Sunny Daycare

Ms. Najma has become an extended member of our family over the last two years. We had never used a home daycare but discovered Sunny Daycare when looking for a new carer in July 2020, and were so happy that we did. If you’re looking for an intense preschool/daycare like Goddard, Little People won’t be for you. You won’t be sent daily detailed updates of your child’s day. You won’t have the option of adding music or language lessons to their day. You won’t have access to cams to watch them in the classroom.
What you will get from LPM is a warmth and authenticity that stems from owner Ms. Gina’s love of her students and staff.
LPM is a family. The staff has almost little to no turnover; they have been there for years, even decades. My daughter’s teacher Ms. Luni’s own grown son attended LPM 20 years ago. Ms. Joyce, Ms. Bebe… .they’ve been apart of the school for years and years. The staff is professional, experienced and extremely devoted to LPM.
If your kid stays for the full day (there are half, full and part-time options), they will enjoy a nutritious, delicious home-cooked lunch made by Ms. Gina in the school’s kitchen.
LPM is a place your child will grow emotionally and intellectually. The school adheres to the Montessori model of teaching, so 3, 4 and 5-year-olds are mixed together. The little ones interact with and learn from the older kids and the older kids teach and model behavior to the little ones. Teachers have the classrooms humming like a hive: every child knows how to contribute and grow from each other.
Academics are age-appropriate, clear and fun. Students do a different dive into a new theme each week and circle back to content when appropriate. The independent work students focus on is impressive, the collaborative activities even more so.
Students have time to play as well. Doors open at 7a.m. and students can play with each other before the official 8:30 start of instruction. There’s a secure playground attached to the back of the school for outdoor fun (they get them outside whenever the weather allows). General holidays are celebrated appropriately and with joy.
LPM is also a place where your child will be safe and communication is prized. Ms. Gina and the teachers are quick to respond to emails or phone calls. The entrance is always locked and secure. Teachers post a handful of photos (to parents only) of the day’s activities and send parent email updates when something big is happening academically or socially.
Today was my daughter’s last day after 2 years and we will all dearly miss this warm, wonderful place. This is kind of neighborhood place children adore….

My daughter took a cooking class Miss Bethany offered for children. Anyone with young children knows how hard it can be to keep them engaged and still having fun! Miss Bethany did a wonderful job communicating with the groups of 6/7 year olds. She broke down the steps of the recipe into manageableparts and gave lots of encouragement along the way. And bonus at the end you get a delicious treat! Miss Bethany is creative, patient, and excellent with children! My daughter is really looking forward to taking another one of her classes in the future….
