Welcome to Hugs-n-Hearts!
Thank you for visiting our website!
Children are my passion and for as long as I can remember, I have always dreamt of having the opportunity to do what I love. My dream came true on April 22, 1994 and I opened the doors of Hugs-n-Hearts ELC. I have been the owner and on-site director for 28 years. Hugs-n-Hearts is privately owned and family operated. We were one of the very first businesses to open in the Polaris area. Teddy bears lined the hallways and smiling teachers waited in the doorways to welcome the first of over 4500 students to join our family. Hugs-n-Hearts was designed and built with the Polaris community in mind. We are a full-day, educational child care program designed for working parents.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have over 35 years of administrative and teaching experience in the early child care field. My three children grew up at Hugs-n-Hearts and I’m so proud to now work alongside them every day. I love watching my children teaching others and seeing their growing passion for this field. Together we are shaping the future of Hugs-n-Hearts.
We believe that each child deserves the VERY BEST! One of the many reasons Hugs-n-Hearts excels is our staff. Our collaborative team works to make sure your child reaches their full potential. At Hugs-n-Hearts our staff becomes family. We look forward to your family joining ours.
SINCERELY,

“Frozen” under Brezhnev. The problem is not in Russia, but in Jim Carrey’s head | Person | Culture
Hollywood actor Jim Carrey was included in the list of 100 Canadian citizens who are banned from entering Russia. According to the department, the sanctions are being introduced in response to “the ongoing practice by the regime of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sanctions against the Russian leadership, politicians and parliamentarians, business representatives, experts and journalists, cultural figures, as well as anyone whom the Canadian Russophobic authorities considered objectionable.”
The person who condemns
Kerry is one of the most recognizable people in Russia’s response list. In 2018, he declared that he considered “Russian interference” in the 2016 presidential election, which was won by Donald Trump , proven, and in 2022 he was among the Western stars who condemned the special military operation against the Ukrainian Nazis.
Almost immediately after that, the 60-year-old comedian announced his retirement: “If, of course, the angels suddenly bring some kind of script written in gold ink, and I understand that it is very important for people to see this, then maybe I I’ll be back. Yes, I could continue my career in the future, but I like my quiet life so much. I really like to paint pictures, I like to engage in spirituality. I’ve had enough.”
Why does the Hollywood veteran dislike Russia so much? In fact, the problem here is rather not in our country, but in Kerry himself – a successful person with a lot of complexes.
Doubly deprived
His eternal antics, which appeared at school, was actually a protection from the outside world, which seemed to the native of Canada very evil and hostile.
In one of the interviews he confessed: “Santa Claus didn’t bring me presents like other children, and on that day I felt doubly deprived”. After Jim’s father was fired from his job, family life turned into a real struggle for existence. Kerry frankly admitted that at the age of 16, getting a piece of bread for himself, he washed toilets at a construction site, and these latrines were so filthy that their appearance and stench remained with Jim for life.
His breakthrough to worldwide fame in the 1990s after “Ace Ventura” and “Mask” was accompanied by personal problems, which he managed with antidepressants.
Relationship destroyer
In 1987, the young comedian married waitress Melissa Womer , who gave birth to his daughter Jane . Family life, full of conflicts, lasted until 1995, when Kerry, tired of constant quarrels, filed for divorce. The actor, who had just played in the movie The Mask, which made him famous all over the world, had to pay his ex-wife $ 7 million in compensation.
After the divorce, Kerry’s depression worsened, which haunts the actor throughout his life.
The second wife of Jim Carrey was the actress Lauren Holly , who was his partner in the film “Dumb and Dumber”. This marriage of the actor lasted only ten months.
The romance between Kerry and Cathrion White , a make-up artist, began in 2012. At this point, Kerry was already 50 years old, and his new companion was exactly two times younger and was the same age as the actor’s daughter.
Relations between Kerry and White lasted several months, after which the couple broke up. The romance resumed in May 2015, but in September of the same year they broke down again. On September 24, just after her breakup with Kerry, Catriona left her last post on Twitter: “Goodbye Twitter. I hope I brought light to my dearest and closest. Soon she was found dead. The girl’s relatives bombarded Kerry with lawsuits, and this story dragged on for almost three years, but in the end ended in nothing.
A very private visit
All of these difficulties, oddly enough, are reflected in Jim Carrey’s perception of our country. In one of the interviews, he admitted that from childhood he was accustomed to treating Russia as an “evil empire. ” Despite the rather wide popularity in our country, for many years Kerry came to Russia only twice, and both visits were filled with fog and mystery.
In the summer of 2001, Jim Carrey flew to Moscow in a private jet with a Hollywood agent by John Wrigley . The comedian’s program was quite typical for a foreign guest – Red Square, the Bolshoi Theater, a restaurant of Russian cuisine. Kerry told those around him that he was pleased to have set foot in “the center of the evil empire.” Rumor has it that on Red Square, Jim parodied Brezhnev – very relevant for 2001. Which once again proves that Kerry’s knowledge of Russia froze tightly at the time of his youth.
Somewhere near Burma
Interestingly, Kerry’s second visit, two years later, was arranged in the same way. True, this time the actor mentioned that he could “come for the bride.” Later there were rumors that Jim was having an affair with Anastasia Volochkova .
But be that as it may, both of these trips did not change anything in the perception of the comedian of our country. Kerry himself did not want to go beyond the stereotype of “caviar, matryoshka, balalaika, nuclear missile”. And, it seems, the new round of Russophobia in the West was met with relief – finally, everything returned to its rightful place.
I must say that Kerry had stories and cooler. For example, in 2007 he recorded a video message against political repression in Burma. The only problem is that he knew even less about what was happening in Burma than about Russia, where he at least knew the image of Brezhnev.
