Waterbury Child Care | Waterbury Daycare

It Takes A Village Child Care prides itself on offering a small homelike environment. Creating an extended family in which each child is welcomed, cherished and nurtured.

The teacher to child ratio for our program is 1 to 4. These 1 to 4 ratios are divided up by the following ages:

  • Newborn program – 6 weeks to 6 months
  • Infants program – 6months to 18 months
  • Toddlers program – 18 months to 36months
  • School Age program – 3 years to 5 years old

Child initiated activities, floor times, structured play, supervised projects, quiet activities and free play will fill your child’s days with laughter and learning.

During these activities an appreciation and respect for cultural differences will be fostered. We undertake this responsibility seriously, guiding every child with love, patience and understanding.

The center provides a safe, secure and routine environment in which each child can engage in daily and develop friendships and understanding of others. Our care programs are as follows are are based on the age group listed below;

Newborn & Infants

Our newborn & infant area provides the highest quality care in an environment that is designed with your little one in mind. While in our care, the children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoor blanket time, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of laughter, hugs and tickles.

Toddlers

At this age, children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come. Crawling, walking and eventually running are levels they accomplish in what seems like a blink of an eye. Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment. Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicities envelop much of the day. Our caregivers are dedicated to helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, diaper changes and/or toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.

Preschoolers

Children in our preschool group are mastering new challenges everyday. At this age children grow more and more independent with each passing day. Our caregivers are dedicated to helping each child develop the skills they need through a trusting and loving relationship. Through our play based curriculum each preschooler is given the opportunity to develop their social, emotional and educational skills. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, toilet training and all activities accomplished each day.

School-Age

As children get older and more self reliant, they need new challenges. That’s why we offer a school-age program for before and after school care and enrichment programs that address the changing and more varied needs of growing school-age children. Reading, math, and science activities as well as homework assistance ensure that your child’s mind is engaged and help create a lifelong love of learning and exploration.

If you have any questions about these programs, please feel free to contact us. We are excited at the opportunity of your family joining ours
