90,000 just did not include: the landowners arranged a horseman fuss around the Pervomaisky grove

land users whose plots are proposed to include

in the boundaries of the natural monument, began the lobbying campaign

in order to not fall under the OOPT mode

On Tuesday, January 12, in Krasnodar , public hearings were held on materials of a comprehensive environmental survey of the territory of the Pervomaiskaya Grove monument , where the draft boundaries of this specially protected natural area and the proposed regime for its protection were submitted to the public for judgment.

Recall that the work to establish the boundaries and clarify the protection regime, popular among citizens and one of the largest green areas in the city, became possible only last year, when, after a change in the leadership of the region, the new governor Veniamin Kondratiev began to scold the mayor’s office of Krasnodar for the destruction of green areas . As part of the “demonstrative flogging”, Kondratyev gave the order to deal with urban specially protected natural areas (SPNA) – to do the work that the subordinates of Mayor Vladimir Yevlanov had been sabotaging with all their might over the past 10 years.

Although in fairness it should be noted that the predecessors of Mayor Yevlanov preferred not to particularly remember that there are eight “areal” natural monuments on the territory of Krasnodar, created in the period from 1981 to 1988: “Forest Park Chomuty”, “Forest Park Prirechny”, “Remizny section No. 2”, “Lake Karasun”, Botanical Garden of KubSU, Arboretum of KubGAU, “Park of the 40th Anniversary of the Victory”, “Park named after Gorky”, “Pervomaiskaya Grove”. Work on establishing boundaries, determining the area and regime of natural monuments “Forest Park Khomuty” and “Forest Park Prirechny” was completed last year . This year, similar work is expected to be done with most of the remaining urban protected areas

Pervomayskaya grove is one of the largest urban green areas, the history of which is 116 years old . In November 1900, at a meeting of the Yekaterinodar Duma, at the suggestion of the vowel (deputy) Gavriil Chistyakov, a decision was made to allocate 30 acres of land on the northeastern outskirts of Yekaterinodar “for planting a city grove.” The first tree was planted by Chistyakov himself. The grove was a rectangular plot of land, divided crosswise by two alleys. Maples, ash-trees, lindens, oaks were planted on one side of each alley, and pines and spruces were planted on the other.

In 1923 Chistyakovskaya grove was renamed into Pervomaiskaya grove (in 2008 the historical name was returned to the grove). By the forties of the last century, a fully mature man-made forest grew on the outskirts of Krasnodar, which became a popular place for walking and picnicking. However, already in Soviet times, the outlying sections of the grove began to be built up and “ennobled”: on the territory of the green massif, in particular, the young naturalists station (now the Ecological and Biological Center) and a kindergarten, as well as various objects of the park of culture and recreation, were located.

By the time the Pervomaiskaya grove was declared a natural monument (in accordance with the decision of the Krasnodar Territory Executive Committee dated July 14, 1988 No. 326 “On classifying natural objects as state natural monuments”), the remaining area of the urban forest was estimated at 52 hectares. And by the tenth anniversary of the reign of Mayor Yevlanov (in 2015), the area of the green massif had already amounted to just over 36 hectares (according to the estimates of the Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology of KubGAU, the developer of materials for a comprehensive environmental survey of the territory of the Pervomaiskaya Grove monument). The “disappeared” hectares of forest have turned into a residential area at the corner of Zipovskaya and Moskovskaya streets and on Moskovskaya street itself, as well as into a miserable “shanghai” in the form of the so-called. “book market”, garages and parking lots along the street of the 40th anniversary of the Victory.

A considerable part of the territory of the city park (more than 10 hectares) was once taken under the water intake station, on whose site everything that once grew there was cut down and uprooted.

Both large construction companies, such as, for example, Development-South (which built an elite residential complex on Moskovskaya St. and intended to build up a “book market” with the adjacent territory), and numerous offices of Horns and Hooves. The last serious drank of the park happened in 2012-2013, when the city hall gave permission for the destruction of a section of park in the area of the kindergarten “Skazka” LLC “Adva” (for the construction of a multi-storey residential building) and LLC “Investment Company” Light of the Stars “(for the construction of an administrative building), about which EcoWatch applied to the controlling bodies .

Corrupt lawlessness of city officials was favored by the fact that in the decision of the Krasnodar Territory Executive Committee of 14.07.1988. 326, the boundaries of the natural monument were indicated only approximately (they were limited to the streets of Kolkhoznaya, Zipovskaya and the 40th anniversary of the Victory). Using this vagueness and the inability to accurately identify the boundaries of the protected areas, the officials issued permits for the development of the outlying sections of the Pervomaiskaya Grove – which explained the desire to disrupt the work on establishing the exact boundaries of the protected areas for as long as possible.

EcoWatch, for example, knows that back in 2011, the regional authorities proposed to the administration of Krasnodar to agree on the boundaries of the Pervomaiskaya grove, but city officials clouded the issue (it’s time to recall the already mentioned logging organized in 2012 by the companies Adva and Seven Stars “).

The current proposal of the Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology of Kuban State Agrarian University is to ensure that the original area of the natural monument (52 hectares) is sustained. Moreover, according to the materials presented by the Research Institute, , it is proposed to include all remaining green areas within the boundaries of the protected areas, including even intra-yard plantings in the middle of high-rise buildings at the corner of Zipovskaya and Moskovskaya streets (which are the remains of a grove). It is also proposed to include the territory of the water intake (about 10 hectares) and the territory of the Ecological and Biological Center (slightly more than 4 hectares) into the natural monument. The proposed boundaries of the protected area also include some land plots that have already been transferred to the use of private individuals, but on which trees have not yet been cut down (in particular, on Moskovskaya Street, next to the Development-Yuga residential complex). The total proposed area of the “renovated” natural monument exceeded 54 hectares.

Within the boundaries of protected areas, the Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology proposes, in particular, to prohibit “allocation of land plots for new construction objects of any purpose, including temporary ones, except for objects related to the functioning of the park and park management, drinking water intake, buildings and structures Ecological and Biological Center”, and “cutting down trees, shrubs and lianas, with the exception of thinning and sanitary felling, including in the protection zones of linear objects, right of way of highways” .

However, as it became known to EcoWatch, undercover fuss has already begun about the proposed boundaries of the protected areas. In particular, the leadership of the Ecological and Biological Center was categorically against the inclusion of the territory of the center into the boundaries of the natural monument, using, to put it mildly, dubious arguments that, they say, “it will be impossible to plant plants and take care of the beds. ” The same lobbying activity, according to our information, was launched by the owner of the land plot 23:43:0301002:2267 with an area of over 10 thousand square meters. m., located on the street. Moscow.

“Protest moods” are actively fueled by the city administration, which, apparently, continues its previous course of sabotaging all work to bring the natural monument to some kind of compliance. It is very significant that, for example, the Public Council for the Development of the Urban Environment under the head of Krasnodar made a lengthy statement at public hearings that, supposedly, the hearings should be repeated, and the draft of the natural monument should be “sent for revision” (although the format of public discussions of materials for assessing the impact of the proposed activity on the environment, and so assumes that within 30 days after the hearing, the developer of the materials is obliged to continue to collect comments and modify the materials themselves taking them into account).

“We see that Krasnodar officials, to whom city natural monuments are like a bone in their throat, start weaving some kind of intrigue, involving manual public opinion and sowing false fears among land users. The Scientific Research Institute of Applied and Experimental Ecology really presented rather low-quality and “raw” materials for public hearings, they could not really justify why they defined the border of the natural monument in this way. But this is not at all a reason for “cancelling” the hearings, but a reason to force the developer to finalize the material, it is better to justify their proposals. In the coming days, we will send our detailed comments to the research institutes and we will seek to take them into account” , – Dmitry Shevchenko , deputy coordinator of the Ecological Watch , commented on the events around the discussion of the boundaries of the Pervomayskaya Grove natural monument.

Scotch pine. One of the oldest plants on earth. — Altai Biosphere Reserve

Someone will say that not seeing the forest for the trees is bad, and not seeing the trees in the forest is even worse. But to see it is one thing, but to identify it, and even to know various facts about it, is already interesting, because knowledge not only decorates, but also adds variety to our lives. So, let’s get acquainted with Scotch pine.

“Goddess of the forest”

Pine with amber bark.
Goddess of the Forest! Like spring
Green crown breathes needles,
Green-eyed country!
She has fortitude and impulse,
They burn brightly and majestically.
Dawn blushes her carpets.
Sunset weaves purple bedspreads.
The Goddess stands in beauty,
Bathed in burning gold,
Needle drawing on canvas
Forest landscape, my visions.
Jamrina

Scotch pine (lat. Pinus sylvestris L.) is no less loved and popular among other coniferous tree species. This is a tree of the Pine family (Pinaceae), a widespread species of Eurasia, one of the most valuable conifers in our country. Pine forms pure stands, but can grow together with other conifers or deciduous species. Mature pines reach 25-40 meters high , and the trunk can be more than a meter in diameter, so the pine belongs to the trees of the first magnitude. The highest pines are found on the coast of the Baltic Sea, their “tops” are at a height of 45-50 meters above the ground.

The bark of a pine in the lower part of the trunk is thick, scaly, gray-brown, with deep cracks, in the upper part – orange-red. The needles have a bluish-green color, they are quite dense, often sticking out, curved, collected in bunches of 2 needles, the length of the needles is 4-7 cm. cold regions – much longer. Pine is a coniferous tree that prepares for the winter period in a peculiar way. After all, evaporation at a “minus” temperature is detrimental to the plant, while at the same time the needles remain on the branches. The plant copes with this quite simply: with the onset of cold weather, a thin layer of wax forms on the needles, the stomata close, therefore, breathing stops. The branching of the Scots pine is single-toothed – this means that the branches grow in even tiers, whorls, and one “floor” is added every year. Knowing this feature, it is quite simple to find out the age of young pine trees. However, 5-6 years should be added to the number of tiers, because in the first years of the plant’s life, no branches form on the trunk. Pine reproduces mainly by seed; pine cuttings do not reproduce. The cones are located singly or in 2-3 pieces on the legs lowered down, the cone develops for two years.

Scotch pine is an undemanding species, it has a high adaptability to both the richness of soil and its moisture, therefore it can grow both on sands and in swamps. In the north, its range reaches the boundaries of the Arctic Circle, and it also enters the south (Orenburg and Kuibyshev regions, Altai and Kazakhstan). The main requirement of Pinus sylvestris is light, so, like other light-loving species, pines have a fairly “transparent” crown that perfectly transmits the sun’s rays. Pine usually grows up to 200-250 years, and in some conditions – up to 400 years.

Each tree is interesting and unique in its own way. Pine is no exception. It would seem that what could be unusual in ordinary pines? We are accustomed to these trees, we are pleased to look at their slender, golden trunks, inhale clean, fragrant air smelling of resin, and often do not even think that pine is one of the most ancient plants on Earth. These real living fossils have populated vast areas on Earth in the Northern Hemisphere, and the oldest tree in the world that still exists and is known to scientists is also a pine. Umea University scientists have discovered the oldest tree in the world in Sweden. This is pine, whose age, according to radiocarbon analysis, is almost 10 thousand years.

In Latin, the name of the pine tree is “Pinus”. Pines often grow on rocky cliffs or steep mountain slopes, so there is an assumption that the roots of this name lie in the Celtic “pin”, which means rock. In addition, there is an old Greek legend explaining this name. The nymph of the dawn, the fair-haired Pitis (in some versions, Pitis or Pitya), fell in love with the cheerful and mischievous god Pan, the son of Hermes and the daughter of Dryop, who was considered the god-guide, patron of fishermen and hunters. But the jealousy of another god, Boreas, the lord of the cold north wind, turned out to be stronger, and he turned the nymph into a pine tree, a tall evergreen tree, which was named Pinus. Known images of the god Pan with a pine wreath on his head.

Pine forests have their own special energy. It’s good and easy to breathe there – and it’s not just a feeling. The air where pines grow is clean and saturated with phytoncides – healing volatile substances that kill microbes that can cause various diseases in humans. Pine is considered one of the most “open” trees, it has always benefited a person due to its unique properties and inimitable aura.

Interesting ancient beliefs are connected with pine:
– in the old days they believed that pine was able to relieve a heavy sense of guilt, remove damage;
– the resin of ancient pines – amber – is able to attract wealth: sorting out amber rosaries and presenting future wealth promised the fulfillment of material desires;
– pine branches hidden under the door drove away evil energy, and sewn into the pillow – relieved of diseases;
– a strong amulet can be obtained by hanging a golden chain on a branch of a living pine tree for several hours.
According to an ancient Nenets belief, pine trees with a certain (spherical) arrangement of branches cannot be beaten with a stick – it is believed that the spirit of the wind lives there, which can carry away anyone who dares to disturb him to “nowhere”. The inhabitants of Northern Europe have created many fairy tales about this kind and mighty tree. In the countries of the East, it is believed that pine trees avert misfortune and bring happiness.

Poets dedicated wonderful poems to pine (S. Marshak, M. Lermontov, M. Svetlov, Z. Gippius, A. Yashin, etc.), many poets mention pine in their poems.

People made riddles about pine:
– What kind of girl is this:
Not a seamstress, not a craftswoman,
Doesn’t sew anything herself,
But in needles all year round.

– I have a long needle,
Than the tallest Christmas tree.
There are a lot of neighbors below me –
Boars, wolves, bears.

– You can always find her in the forest –
Let’s go for a walk and meet:
Stands prickly like a hedgehog,
In winter in a summer dress.

Do not forget about the pine in proverbs and sayings:
– Pine feeds, and linden shoes.
– Every pine makes noise only to its forest.
– For us, every oak is a sheepskin coat, every pine is a hut.
– From an apple tree – apples, and from a pine – cones.
– Spruce is not a pine, it makes noise for a reason.
– From the forest, yes from every pine.
– The pine tree is red where it grew.

Ancient healers knew a lot about the unusual properties of pine and used it in the treatment of colds, wound healing, treatment and prevention of diseases of the teeth and gums. Ancient “beauticians” claimed that the smoke from burning pine wood helped the eyelashes to become long and fluffy, and this remedy was extremely popular among women. In the modern world, pine does not lose its importance as a source of medicinal raw materials (there are useful substances in needles, in buds, in resin). Pine is the source of many substances and products widely used by man in industry. Pine resin is used in the production of rosin and turpentine, and tannins are made from the bark. Pine wood is widely used – it is very resinous and durable, it is used in housing and hydraulic engineering construction, in joinery and carpentry, for the manufacture of veneer, plywood. Today, people use pine wood to make artificial silk and leather and produce pulp. Sawdust is used, they serve as raw materials for the production of hydrolytic alcohol. Various wicker utensils are made from strong dry pine roots.

Interesting facts about Scots pine.
– In the Kaliningrad region (area of the Curonian Spit) there is an unusual place that the locals call the “Drunken” or “Dancing” forest. This is a forest plantation of the 80s, where amazing trees grow on one km2 – their trunks are bent, twisted or twisted in loops. There is such a “Drunk Forest” in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region. There are several more similar places on our planet, for example, the Danish “Troll Forest”, a similar place called “Troll Forest” is in Denmark, and also on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

An interesting fact is about the length of the root system of trees – it turns out that the champion title here belongs to Scotch pine, whose indicator is fifty kilometers .

In the Altai Biosphere Reserve pine is located in islands along the lower southern slopes of the mountains, rising to a height of 1750 m above sea level. seas. Individual massifs of pine forests are found on the eastern and northern coasts of Lake Teletskoye, along the valleys of the Kyga, Shavla rivers, and some tributaries of the river. Chulyshman.

In the vicinity of the Baygazan cordon , pine is found everywhere. Quite large specimens of pine, which are more than 100 years old, acquire a special decorative effect, because. by this time, the trunk in its upper part begins to be covered with a thin orange bark, which gives elegance to the tree. Huge withered pine trees with fallen bark and wonderfully curled trunks can be seen, having risen quite a bit uphill, above the cordon.

Old pine trees growing separately in clearings have a special attraction. Sprawling, low-growing branches allow you to see and touch the prickly needles, cones, on legs lowered down. Such single pines are found not far from a residential building and always attract the eye from afar. Green giants, with an openwork crown and golden trunks, are an integral part of the surrounding landscape of the cordon, they give the forest freshness and elegance, in such a forest it is always good for both body and soul.
