Deciding Your Daycare Center Hours » Hopping In!

Daycare center hours: usually long, but you get a say!

Since daycare revolves around kids and their parents, you want to build your daycare center hours around them.This means that you want to open before they leave for work and after they come home, giving them enough time to navigate the traffic and safely pick up their kiddo.

However, that doesn’t mean that you don’t get some choice. Everything depends on your location, age of children enrolled and your business model. And yes, there’s even  24-hour childcare available in some places.

Learn how to decide your daycare center work hours:

Typical hours: early to rise, late to close!

A typical daycare center is open from something like 6 or 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Sometimes it’s even open on weekends, although at reduced hours.

The point of this is to offer a valuable service parents can rely on. There’s even benefits for staff, as they will have higher morale if they can depend on consistent hours and are offered shifts at similar times of day every day rather than switching between early and late shifts.

Try to pace out your staffing so that you can focus on the managerial aspects as the owner. Having dependable staff and dependable daycare center hours also helps you market effectively and build a healthy relationship with parents. Parents will rest easy knowing they can count on you to be consistently open when you say you will.

Things that might affect hours

Maybe you’re in a location where the average workday starts a bit later. Perhaps your daycare center is religious and has reduced or no hours on religious holidays. Maybe you have opted to run only partial hours as a business strategy after seeing which days had the most demand. There’s a lot of reasons that can make your daycare center hours differ from those of a daycare close by. Don’t let that worry you; a lot of parents may have similar schedules.

However, if your daycare partial hours only because it’s not running at full capacity, it may be time to look into Hopping In which makes it easier for parents to book vacant spots. It works for part-timers and drop-in kiddos, and it’s easy and effective to use.

Another thing affecting daycare center hours is industry in the area. If you are in an area where a certain industry dictates that parents work later nights or earlier mornings, it’s good to adapt. You should always try to work around your customer base, rather than your own preferences.

That said, if you’re opening super early but not really seeing a rise in enrollment, consider cutting back. There’s no shame in opening an hour later and closing an hour earlier if it doesn’t hurt your daycare center’s popularity. If a rise in enrollment isn’t happening because parents aren’t well acquainted with your hours, consider using Hopping In and its booking calendar. You may know your empty spots and work hours, but parents don’t.

In general, though, early to rise late to close is the daycare center rule to live by!

Wrapping It Up!

Parenting is a full-time job, and daycares are literally a lifesaver for working parents. They are great for your kid’s emotional and physical growth. Most importantly, you have an essential mind peace that your kid is in safe hands.

But what if you have to work on weekends and, of course, you can’t take your children to work? Well, unfortunately, this is going to be bad news for you.

Daycare centers are not open on weekends. Weekends are considered as rest days for staff. Usually, most of them deep clean the premises every Saturday and spare Sunday for staff as rest.

Are Daycares Open On Weekends

Well, if you’re looking for a quick magic fix, unfortunately, there is none. Either you have to leave kids alone, or you can try some old-school ways.

Table of Contents

Daycare Timings

Usually, daycares are open from 8 am to 6 pm five days a week. On festivities and celebrations, the schedule is usually changed. On average, a child can maximum spend 25 to 30 hours per week.

Some daycare centers can keep your kid for longer, but they are mostly expensive.

Are Daycares Open On Saturdays?

The answer to this question is not so straightforward. Most daycare centers are closed on Saturdays. But usually, it varies depending on the rush hours and cities.

Are Daycares Open On Saturdays

In big cities and States, you may find several spots that are open on weekends and for long hours too. Most businesses prefer to remain shut for cleaning and rest purposes.

Keep in mind that daycare and nursery centers also have to follow State rules and regulations. So the chances of finding a 7 days week daycare are minimal but not zero.

Weekend Daycare Prices

Weekend daycares are a lot of expensive. On average, the weekend rate is 52% higher than a regular day. In some states, family centers or baby care units can cost up to $20 per hour.

Usually, you have to spend over $350 per week to put a baby in a daycare for 7 days a week.

Childcare Options For Working Parents

As they say, the show must go on. So, one way or another, if you have to attend the workplace or any other event, what are your options?

Well, before you panic, let us assure you that we have got you covered. There are many places and ways to save the day.

1. Hire A Babysitter

Hiring a babysitter is a much cheaper and more secure option. Mostly, a babysitter charges $10 per hour and has a flexible schedule. You can install nanny cams or take a long range baby monitor with you for additional mind peace.

Before you hire, ask about the sitter’s behavior from neighbors or read reviews if you’re ordering online.

2. Take Help Of Friends

This old-school way is going to help you a lot. You can request the godparents to step in if they live in the same city. Another potential option is leaving your child with your parents.

Usually, grannies love to spend time with their grandchildren. If both options are unavailable, then you can share your problem with your neighbor. Keep in mind that don’t trust a new person with your kids.

3. Child Care Share

This option is getting famous day by day among single parents and communities. For this, you have to join a group of caregivers who take turns babysitting everyone’s children.

It is also the best way to make friends, and you’ll be relying on professional help with empathy and care.

4. Day Care Providers

This idea is unique, but you might have to request the management of daycare providers.  It is a cheap replacement for infant daycare centers. Mostly, they are more suitable if you need services every week.

The best part is you can rely on them as they usually have an on-site teacher to keep kids busy in learning activities.

I Can’t Leave My Kid, What’re My Options

If you can’t leave your child with anyone or a daycare center, then the only solution is to take the toddler with you. You can request authorities, and they won’t be able to deny it as you are working on weekends.

I Can’t Leave My Kid, What’re My Options

We strongly recommend you take the kid to the workplace rather than leaving them with any stranger or local park for prolonged hours.

Wrapping It Up!

Unfortunately, most daycares stay closed on weekends. In some big cities, you may find one, but they are way more expensive than regular centers.

Apart from the childcare centers, you can leave your kid with grandparents, friends, or trusted neighbours. If you have no one to look after your toddler, it is best to take them with you rather than trust a stranger.

We hope that this article will help you solve your problem. Be happy instead of panicking because motherhood is a lifelong job, and we happily signed up for it!

This institution has two buildings. The first is located at: st. Zhigulevskaya, d. 1 A, the second – Lenin Ave., 10.

Both divisions are located in the center of Kurumoch, away from the main streets and enterprises, in an ecologically clean area, which is important for the safety and health of children. Working hours of kindergartens: from 7. 00 to 19.00 on weekdays. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays are days off. Both buildings are ready to receive 12 groups. The total occupancy is more than 340 children aged 1.5 to 7 years.

The institution has four meals a day, according to the established regime. At the same time, for every 10 days, the menu is separately approved in accordance with the age category of the children. The daily diet includes: dairy products, meat and fish dishes, eggs. These foods are essential for the proper growth of children. Also, as part of the prevention of iodine deficiency, only iodized salt is used in food.

Kindergarten provides many fundamental foundations for the further development of children: it is socialization, the formation of a positive attitude towards work, the development of cognitive interests, the formation of the foundations of security, mastering the means of communication, art, music and reading.

Thanks to the competent work of educators and teachers, many students of the Belochka kindergarten are prize-winners and winners of district, regional and all-Russian competitions: “The First Spring Festival”, “Dedication to the Defenders of the Fatherland”, “Oh, you are a wide carnival”, “ Winter visiting a fairy tale”, “Forward to the stars”, “Rising Star”, etc.

Against the backdrop of general development programs, the kindergarten works in two priority areas:

  1. physical culture and sports;
  2. artistic and aesthetic.

Within the framework of the first direction, the section “Young Basketball Player” successfully operates in the kindergarten, in which more than 30 children are involved. The tasks of physical education are carried out in the constant interaction of pedagogical and medical personnel. As part of the second direction, the guys attend the circle “Colored Hands”, “Crazy Hands” and “Rainbow”. These sections are attended by more than 280 children.

Regularly carried out:

– morning exercises;

– measures to harden the body (walking on massage mats, water and air procedures)

– music and rhythm classes;

– outdoor games during walks;

– gymnastics after sleep;

– finger gymnastics;

– point massage.

Entertaining holidays are regularly held in the kindergarten. On March 8 and February 23, the children happily prepare gifts for their beloved parents. On New Year’s Eve, Santa Claus visits the kindergarten with sweet treats. Do not remain without festive concerts and all other memorable dates. For example, on September 1, a sports festival dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was held in kindergarten. The Queen of Knowledge and Baba Yaga came to visit the children. Fun and provocatively passed the competition between the two teams “Toons” and “Kuklyashki”. Friendship won! And how solemn and entertaining graduation parties are! The guys sing songs and show entertaining creative numbers. Much attention is paid to sports days and patriotic holidays.

In the spring, the guys make their own effigy of Maslenitsa and spend a fun holiday of seeing off Winter. Students regularly visit museums and also organize historical exhibitions.

Many activities in the kindergarten have already become a tradition. Moving “Health Days” are regularly held with invited guests: Gryaznulkin and the Fairy of Purity.

Tea parties with the participation of children and parents. Thematic weeks on the rules of the road and a healthy lifestyle.

As well as thematic exhibitions. For example, autumn nature allows you to make unusual crafts.

Children enjoy visiting local natural sites. For example, children of the senior preparatory group go hiking to the Kurumka River every summer. Here the children admire the beauties of their native nature, play funny games, sing songs and guess riddles.

The territory of the kindergarten, which is beautifully landscaped with trees, shrubs, lawns and flower beds, also contributes to the comprehensive development of children. Each group has its own area, where gazebos, sandboxes, playground equipment, sheds, etc. are located.

Groups are equipped with functional furniture, as well as educational and play equipment, in accordance with the age category of children. The kindergarten has all the necessary technical equipment: computers, scanners, filmoscopes, tape recorders, TVs, music centers, karaoke. In addition to the groups themselves, each building is equipped with rooms for group classes, a music and sports hall, and a medical unit.

I would like to pay special attention to the teaching staff of the kindergarten. A greater number of employees have higher and secondary specialized education with more than 10 years of work experience and qualification category I. Moreover, many employees have differences:

  • badge “Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation” – 1 person
  • Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation – 4 people

It should also be noted that 18 people work in the preschool educational institution, awarded:

  • Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Samara Region – 1 person
  • Honorary Diploma of the Administration of the municipal district Volzhsky – 1 person
  • Diplomas of the Samara regional organization of the trade union of workers of public education and science of the Russian Federation – 4 people
  • Best Manager 2009 – 1 person
  • Diploma of the Volga Region Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Samara Region – 1 person
  • Honorary Diplomas of the head of the rural settlement of the village of Kurumoch – 4 people.
  • Diplomas of the Samara Provincial Duma – 6 people.

Kindergarten operates in close cooperation with the secondary school named after. A.I. Kuznetsov, a children’s clinic, a recreation center “Zhiguli”, a children’s art school and a play center for early development “Little Genius”. After students graduate, preschool specialists keep in touch with primary school teachers. Which, in turn, note in children a high level of educational activity and a great potential for intellectual and organizational abilities. Most of the children, after graduating from kindergarten, study “excellent” and “good”.
