We offer an intergenerational program where we visit monthly to Vista Springs, a nearby nursing home. Our children spend time with the residents. They work on fine motor skills and dexterity.
CHILD-LED LEARNING
The curriculum we use is the Creative Curriculum. We generate creative lesson plans to teach children important life skills, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Sign language and Spanish are included in our daily routines. This allows children to build valuable life skills and independence.
HOUSEMADE MEALS
We prepare all of our meals in house. Family style breakfast and lunch. We participate in the ACD program from the State of Michigan. We are focused on a balanced diet. Children pour their own water to promote child-led learning.

We have sent our soon here for almost two years. I cannot say enough great things about this place. The staff is always friendly and amazing to our son. Our son is excited to go
there everyday and loves his friends and teachers. The class sizes are small and each kid gets a lot of personal attention. If there is room here, sign up!
We love Kristie and the staff at The Little Red Schoolhouse. I would not want our children to go anywhere else! Our kids are treated as family members and I’m so comfortable leaving
them in the care of the ladies there. My youngest is in the preschool room and it has done wonders for her learning skills, social skills and development in general.

I have known Kristie the owner for 6 years when I first had my son. He fell in love with her and so did my daughter.
I actually felt more confidante in her skills as a caregiver then I did my own parents. My kids always got the extra attention they needed when they were having a rough day. They truly were apart of her family, and I felt that I too was apart of her family.
I can’t thank Kristie enough for being able to catch those first big moments for me to see later like first steps. My kids are now in school, but because of the relationship I built with Kristie I still keep her updated on how my kids are doing because she
truly cares about the children in her center and ones that have grown and moved up.

Our Staff

Our specialized staff are CPR and First Aid certified! Each staff member is carefully screened by the DHS – including a criminal background check.
Brianna Keeney
Director
Brianna earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Lansing Community College in 2017.
Brianna has been teaching at Crossroads Learning Center since 2011 and has been the program director since January 2016. She is passionate about providing specialized, quality care to each child that attends Crossroads Learning Center.
Nicole Harris
Lead Instructor – Pre-Kindergarten
Nicole has been working at Crossroads Learning Center since January 2017. She has completed several Continued Education Units and she is in the process of completing her college degree. Nicole is passionate about helping each individual child learn and grow based off their individual interests.
Mallory Hall
Lead Instructor – Preschool
Mallory has been working in childcare since 2003. She has been awarded the National Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™. She has been employed at Crossroads since September 2014. She has a passion to work with the preschoolers as they continue to learn and prepare for Kindergarten.
Savannah Weaver
Lead Instructor – Infants & Toddlers
Savannah has been working at Crossroads Learning Center since January 2018.
She has taken several child care trainings and college courses and she currently in the process of completing her Masters degree. Savannah is passionate about caring for each individual infant and toddlers needs along with providing them with quality care.

“Absolutely love the care and education my children have received at CLC.
My son attended from the age of 14 weeks old until he entered kindergarten and absolutely thrived. They showed him love and compassion daily along with a curriculum that he enjoyed and learned from.
My daughter is now two and a half and has attended since she was 8 weeks old. When she started at CLC there were no reservations about starting her so early. I knew she would receive the love and care needed. Fast forward to now and my daughter is learning and loving her “school day”. I could not ask for better childcare to care for my children.”

“We have been with Crossroads Learning Center for 3 years and our daughter (5 years old) and son (1 year old) both currently attend.
We love the family atmosphere of Crossroads, and we know that all of the teachers know and love our children. We also know that our children are learning so much every day! Our daughter is more than ready for kindergarten, and our son will be more than ready for preschool when the time comes.
We also love the summer program and field trips that our daughter gets to go on, including the Howell Nature Center, Howell Aquatic Center, the Howell Library, Bounce gymnastics, and more! We couldn’t be happier and would recommend Crossroads Learning Center to anyone.
