In her free time, she loves to be with her friends and family, including her adorable fur babies! She loves reading, photography, writing, music, fall weather, and watching her favorite shows. Backyard Dog Care and Boarding | North Salt Lake

Working From Home?

Let us take care of your fur-baby while you work! Your dog will thank you!

Dog Boarding Service

We offer a safe and clean place for your dog to stay overnight. Our trained staff keeps an eye on your dog throughout the night to make sure they are comfortable. We also pay close attention to dogs that need to be let out in the middle of the night to take care of business. Your dog will never feel alone or anxious because we are always there to keep the company.

Dog Kennel

Each one of our dog kennels is fully stocked for your dog’s daytime and overnight needs. During the day, our kennels are used for feeding and naps. We feed our dogs out of kennels because it allows them to focus on their food and gives them privacy from other dogs. Each kennel has a cot, and soft blankets.

Dog Sitter

We offer more interaction and care than a sitter is able to do in one day. We are also much more affordable than private sitters. Our facility also provides the socialization that dogs need to form healthy habits around other dogs.

Dog Bath Service

Our Dog bath service is designed to give your dog the best bath experience. We only use dog friendly products. When you come back to pick up your dog, you will love how they look and smell.

Dog Park

Our dog yard is one of a kind. Once your dog has experienced our real grass dog yard, they will never want to stay at any other facility. We know how important it is for dogs to get outside, which is why we place no restrictions on how long your dog stays outside during the day.

Dog Day Care Center

Our day care option is a great way to let your dog get out all of their energy before you pick them up to go home. If you spend your day at work, drop off your dog with us. We will keep them active and happy every minute they are here with us.

Doggie Day Care +

We offer both day services and night services in the same facility. This is important because your dog should be used to where they play during the day and sleep at night. When their surroundings remain consistent, they are much less likely to suffer from stress and anxiety.

Dog Walker

We exercise and interact with your dog all day long. They also receive the added bonus of being around other dogs, a great perk for their mental health. Your dog will receive the exercise they need and more when they stay with us.

Meet the team!

Our fantastic staff are trained and well equipped to tend to your pet. They are sure to care for your pet just as much as you do!

Not only will your dog get some good quality play time with others but they will receive real human interaction as well.

Our team members constantly interact with each dog because we know how important interaction is for a dog’s mental health. Our team members also know how to handle dogs with different temperaments and help them interact with one another in an effective manner. This is how we reinforce good behavior.

Many of our clients have jobs that keep them away from home for long hours at a time. Our service is the perfect solution. We know that once you visit our facility, you will understand why our clients love our services. You can feel confident in knowing your pet is not only safe, but having a wonderful time. We also offer the most affordable prices you will find, along with an unbeatable service.

We take cleanliness very seriously because it has a direct impact on your dog’s health. Keeping a clean facility also gives our dogs a better experience. We know how sensitive a dog is to smells and harsh products. We only use Eco friendly cleaning products throughout our facility. Your dog will never be exposed to harsh chemicals here. We also take extra care in cleaning our outdoor dog park so your dog always runs out to a clean place to play.

Our facility also offers dog bath services for an additional fee. Our trained staff is patient and experienced when it comes to giving your dog a bath. We have the appropriate tubs and equipment to keep your dog comfortable and happy. Our shampoos and conditioners are designed with your dog’s sensitive skin in mind. We also use special brushes to keep your dog’s coat soft, shiny, and healthy.

We use large, spacious kennels to keep our overnight dogs safe and comfortable. Each of our kennels is cleaned throughout the day. We supply what your dog needs for their overnight stay. Each kennel is outfitted with a cot and soft blankets. We do encourage our clients to bring something from home for their dogs to keep in their kennels. Items like dog beds and blankets make your dog feel more at ease and sleep better at night because they have something that smells like home. We are happy to accommodate your dog’s overnight stay in any way we can.

        History

Original Memorial Hospital D. Di Ogden opened on December 29, 1910 and closed on July 12, 1969, with patients transferred to the new David O. McKay Hospital at 3939 Harrison Boulevard.

Dee , as it was known for 59 years, began a second life on November 10, 1971, when a new building of the same name opened its doors next to McKay as an integral part of McKay Dee Hospital Center.

From the very beginning, the history of Dee’s hospital was intertwined with the life stories of Dee’s family. [1] Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital was founded in 1910 by Annie Taylor Dee and her children as a memorial to their husband and father.

        Growing up years

Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital Association was registered on February 3, 1910 years. Hospitals in the United States and Europe were studied and plans were prepared by Ogden’s architect L. S. Hodgson. The contract to build the hospital was awarded to C. J. Humphreys of Ogden for $46,625. The building’s cornerstone was laid at the northwest corner of the building on September 27, 1910 at 12 noon, with participation from community leaders and members of the Dee family. The hospital was ready to fill on December 29, 1910, and was officially unveiled to the public in a ceremony on the fourth floor. Fifteen patients were transferred from Ogden General Hospital two days later.

Hospital rates were $3 per day for a private room, $2 for a room, and $25 for 14 days as a labor patient. The operating room fee was $10. The working day for nurses was 12 hours and a half days off per week, when the patient’s workload allowed. Statistics for the first year show a total of 895 patients, 481 surgeries and 5 deliveries.

In 1912 the first physician began his internship at the hospital, and in 1913 the Dee Hospital School of Nursing completed its first class. The students were housed in the basement of the hospital and classes were held in the evening after the students had completed their full 12-hour shifts. Later, the living quarters were moved to several houses next to the hospital, and this continued until August 1917 when the Nursing Home was built.

Ogden’s first x-ray machine was received as a gift in 1913. Its usefulness was limited to detecting noticeable bone fractures and large metallic foreign objects in the body. A picture of the hip joint required a 10-minute exposure.

Dr. Ezra Rich gave Dee’s first blood transfusion at Ogden on February 9, 1913. It was a direct gravity flow between two brothers, one of whom was injured in a sawmill accident near Malada, Idaho. At the time, typing and cross-matching of blood was unknown, but the injured patient recovered.

By 1914, it became apparent that the Dee family could no longer be expected to run the hospital, which had experienced a significant operating deficit since its opening. Requests for assistance in keeping the Hospital running were made, but to no avail until a request was made to a family friend. David O. McKay. McKay arranged interviews with Joseph F. Smith, Anton H. Lund, Charles W. Penrose, and Charles W. Nibley, who intervened with the LDS church, essentially taking over the hospital’s finances.

        Growth

Then the hospital entered a period of growth.

        • 1917 Nursing home and school completed. Purchased a new x-ray machine.
        • 1919 Anesthesia with nitrous oxide was used for the first time.
        • 1919 South wing extension completed and fully equipped laboratory established.
        • 1921 Radiology department organized.
        • 1922 Radium, the first in northern Utah, was used in a hospital.
        • 1925 The first full-time radiologist-pathologist joined the state.
        • 1927 North wing completed.
        • 1928 Physiotherapy added to hospital services.
        • 1929 A pharmacy with a full-time pharmacist was opened.
        • 1932 First oxygen tent used in Utah and Capitol Street parking lots provided by Dr. Ezra and Clark Rich.
        • 1937 The Central Service was established to provide centralized preparation of equipment and materials. Now used universally in all hospitals, Dee’s central care unit was the first in Utah.
        • 1938 A pediatric department was opened to take care of children.
        • 1942 Separate departments of pathology and radiology were created.
        • 1944 Penicillin was introduced for the first time.
        • 1946 Founded the Ogden Surgical Society at Nursing Home and Blood Bank, established to meet the growing demand for whole blood.
        • 1948 The first polyclinics were opened.

By 1949, Dee’s Hospital was once again struggling for economic survival.

        Management Changes

LDS Church Presiding Bishop, LeGrand Richards, Chairman of the Hospital Board of Trustees, decided that a change in management philosophy was indicated. He hired Kenneth E. Knapp, a United Airlines executive, and enrolled him in a hospital administration course at Northwestern University. After being mentored at hospitals in Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland, Mr. Knapp became administrator of Dee Hospital in April 1951.

He found that Dee was in a precarious financial situation and took drastic steps to alleviate the situation by merging departments and closing departments for patients whose census had fallen below effective operating levels. At the same time, he offered to other public services to rent space in the building, and this income strengthened the hospital’s financial position. Consolidation of departments allowed to reduce the staff.

        Renovations and new services

By August, just four months after he became administrator, Mr. Knapp began planning floor-by-floor renovations of the hospital. Constantly tightening building and fire regulations have forced a larger-scale reconstruction. To do this, the hospital borrowed money from the LDS Church. Ten years of significant change and progress have followed under Mr. Knapp’s leadership, including:

        • Established a psychiatric unit, the first in Utah General Hospital.
        • The department of physiotherapy opened under the supervision of a certified therapist.
        • Human Resources Department established.
        • Continuing education service started.
        • Childbirth training has begun. * Reception open.
        • An outpatient department has been set up.
        • Iron Lung Polio Ward

By April 1952, the Board of Trustees approved a 10-year, $523,000 upgrade program. It was to include a new neuropsychiatric department, an expanded radiology department with new equipment, a new kindergarten, and additional bathrooms in the maternity ward. New pediatric and orthopedic facilities were planned, as well as an improved central care system, two new surgical departments and a post-operative recovery room. Other new patient services will include an increased blood bank, an oxygen supply system, and an intercom system between patient rooms and first-aid posts. Also planned are new administrative offices, a new hall for medical staff and a library. The elevators will be upgraded and the entire hospital will be refurbished with new lobbies and waiting areas. The hospital also sets the standards required to apply for accreditation. The Joint Hospital Accreditation Commission is the first hospital in Utah to do so.

In June 1953, in an attempt to convince women with young families to work in the hospital, Dee’s Nursing School opened a nursery school where mothers could leave their children while they worked in the hospital, a forerunner of modern times. D Play School.

Technological developments coupled with population growth required eleven major additions to the hospital during the 1950s. These include wings to the north, south, east, and west, two mechanical boiler rooms, an annex to the nursing home, a laundry and kitchen, and a fifth floor for the radiology department, clinical laboratory, and nuclear medicine. At 19In 1953, an anesthesiology department was added, in which anesthesiologists worked; The Auxiliary Volunteer Union was formed in 1954; Radium therapy on a regular basis was started in 1955; surgery, the maternity ward, and the top floor of the hospital were air-conditioned, and living quarters for residents and their families were completed in the former nurses’ home.

In 1955, the Dee School of Nursing and Weber College participated in the Columbia University Teachers College National Curriculum along with six other community colleges and their affiliated hospitals. The study highlighted the nurses’ need for additional medical and scientific knowledge. Dee’s nursing school was closed. Weber College took over the classes and the hospital became the site for clinical practice. The new program introduced a two-year concept for an associate’s degree in nursing education. Over the 45 years of its existence, the Dee School of Nursing has produced over 700 nurses.

        New hospital

As technical knowledge grows and medical care mechanisms become more complex every year, the Board of Trustees wondered if a new hospital was needed. A thorough survey of the building was carried out, with particular attention paid to changes in fire and building codes. A nationally recognized consultant was also asked to review the health care needs of the community and make recommendations. As a result, a recommendation was made to build a new hospital.

27 acres (110,000 m 2 ) a piece of land was purchased and in February 1958 it was announced that a new $5 million hospital would be built. $1.5 million was to be raised by the local community, with the rest of the costs to be covered by the LDS Church. The lack of public interest was evident, and by August 11, 1958, planning for the new hospital was put on hold. It was not until April 1962 that the new Presiding Bishop, John H. Vandenberg, announced that Keith Wilcox and Associates had been selected to begin architectural work on the new hospital, now valued at $8 million. The community will be asked to raise $1.6 million.

In 1963, the hospital development committee proposed that the proposed new hospital be named after LDS Church President David O. McKay, as it was President McKay who brought Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital into the Church hospital system. In August 1965, the final plans for the 380-bed hospital were completed, which required 730 calendar days to complete. However, the tender for the construction would only be open on January 26, 1966. On April 20, 1966, the First Presidency authorized the construction of a $9 hospital.$971,785 including furniture. Salt Lake City Oakland Construction Company offered the lowest bid, $8,198,000. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on Friday, April 23, 1966, when President McKay flipped a switch to detonate dynamite, signaling the start of construction.

The fundraiser for the new hospital continued and celebrated comedian Jack Benny was taken to the Valley Music Hall in Bountiful. Hospital architect Keith Wilcox and builder Jack Oakland also announced plans for a professional building next to the McKay Hotel.

The new hospital, which suffered from construction problems after the groundbreaking, faced another setback in February when the vinyl floors were not up to specification. Its opening has been postponed until mid-May. In fact, the hospital was ready on July 9, 1969. One hundred and fifty-four patients were transferred to McKay from Dee on July 12, 1969, in two hours and 40 minutes. The only unit left open at Dee Hospital was the TB unit until these patients were transferred to Weber County Hospital on June 30.

        Constant progress

In the meantime, Dee continued to progress. In 1959, one of the first intensive care units in the region was opened. Dee’s refurbishment continued due to increasing patient pressure, and the former Nursing Home was converted into experimental units to test the first concept of tiered care, where patients were placed according to the amount of care their illness required.

The continued support of the hospital by the Dee family was confirmed again in the spring of 1963 years old when a new home care program was launched funded by the Annie T. Dee Foundation. It was the first hospital-based home health program in the state, and was not duplicated until the late 1970s, when the federal government sponsored a similar program in rural areas around Richfield.

Patient care continued to evolve as a unique “blood supply” program was initiated to ensure a continuous supply of donated blood to the hospital’s blood bank. A new department of human services was opened and more than $36,000 worth of equipment was authorized for the cardiopulmonary laboratory.

As construction began, the original hospital began preparing for Medicare. The administration reported a significant drop in enrollment of patients over 65 as they waited until the Medical Assistance Act became official to help them pay the cost of their medical care. In July, an agreement was entered into with the State of Utah to provide care for tuberculosis patients housed at the State Sanitarium. In August 1966, 24-hour emergency room security began.

An investigation into the future of Dee’s original hospital has been launched. By June 1968, it was decided that Dee could best serve the community by turning his assets into a new hospital located next to McKay. This would have been fulfillment of the LDS Church’s commitment to the Dee family in 1916 that “there will always be a Dee hospital in Ogden.” Alternative plans for the use of the building were proposed and architectural planning for the new Dee began.

        1970s

New operating structure of LDS Church hospitals came into being on July 1970 years with the formation of the Medical Services Corporation. Donations began to flow to the very successful Foundation. A special procedures operating room was equipped, as well as a new dining room, an on-site heliport near the entrance to the emergency room, and a mural in the lobby of the McKay Hotel. The six young doctors began a three-year family practice residency on July 1, ending the established internship program started at Dee in 1912.

The first open heart surgery performed in the Ogden area was performed at McKay on November 1970 years. The establishment of the department and the training of 40 perfusionists in the operation of the heart-lung shunt pump was approved by the Board of Governors after a comprehensive study by the medical staff and the administrative committee demonstrated the community’s need for the service. With three qualified thoracic surgeons on staff, patients no longer needed to travel to Salt Lake City for this life-saving operation.

Dee’s new hospital was opened with special ceremonies on the afternoon of November 10, 1971 years – on the 127th anniversary of the birth of Thomas D. Dee, in whose memory the first Dee Hospital was founded in 1910.

With the opening of the new Dee Hotel, a new approach to patient care was introduced to the community. Called “Multilevel Care”, it has been designed to provide the patient with the exact level of care required based on the intensity of their illness and to provide them with the exact amount of professional and technical support they need to overcome their illness.

McKay’s first major second floor renovation project in early 1973. It included the addition of two more private delivery rooms, for a total of ten, and all delivery rooms were enlarged to accommodate fetal heart monitoring equipment. The capacity of the intensive care unit has been increased to eight isolets, and a high-risk maternity ward has been established near the ICN. In the postnatal wing, a rest area for mothers after childbirth was added and a waiting room for fathers was built. The total cost of repairs was $250,000.

The LDS Church hit the headlines in September 1974 when it announced that it was transferring its $60 million network of 15 hospitals to the population they serve. A new non-church non-profit corporation was created to operate the hospitals. The new entity was named Intermountain Healthcare and President and CEO Scott S. Parker in early 1975. The new Board of Trustees included Thomas D. Dee, II, as Treasurer. It was in the middle of 1976 years, when the lengthy litigation for the sale ended, and the corporate offices were moved from the church administration building.

The hospital also opened a gastroenterology laboratory, purchased an ultrasound system, installed a gamma camera in nuclear medicine, added a telemetry monitoring system to the coronary care unit, purchased four more fetal heart rate monitors, and purchased eight more vital signs monitors for the intensive care unit and post office. – recovery operating room. The Porter Family Practice Division outgrew its premises into the Professional Building and relocated to Rocky Mountain Plaza at 39 Harrison Boulevard50.

In 1975, three major construction projects were started: reconstruction of the reception area; construction of the Edith Dee Mack Green Auditorium and Multipurpose Learning Center; and installation of a waste compactor. In 1976, the hospital saw growth in three main areas – rehabilitation medicine, psychiatric services, and childbirth. The fourth floor of Dee’s hospital was dedicated to rehabilitation care. A fifth doctor joined the team of doctors to provide 24/7 emergency room care and the area was completed at a cost of $140,000.

A major structural change was made in 1977 when a corridor was built between the second floors of McKay and Dee. Its completion gave better access to the mother and baby overflow unit on 2D. In September 1977, the long-awaited full-body scanner was installed, providing physicians with sophisticated new diagnostic services.

The hospital purchased the McKay Professional building in 1978; and renamed it after Lawrence T. Dee. The conversion of the chambers into private rooms continued; As a result, 87 new private rooms have been created for the comfort and safety of patients. The Thomas J. Barker Vascular Laboratory is opened to detect the possibility of a stroke.

In January 1979, the orthopedic department moved to a new building on the sixth floor of the McKay Hotel. Subsequently, patients from Dee’s third floor were moved to McKay’s fourth floor, and rehabilitation patients were moved one floor to Dee 3. These moves freed Dee’s fourth floor so that construction could begin on a centralized diagnostic and treatment center for cardiopulmonary diseases.

In March 1979, patients and staff participated in the laying of an extension to house rehabilitation medicine and storage. Part of the same contract was a new elevator system to connect the two hospital buildings at levels “A”, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, as well as an extension of the clinical laboratory and a new air exchange system for operating rooms. July 12 19’79 marks the 10th anniversary of the new David O. McKay Hospital. During this decade, 36,384 babies were born and 177,552 patients were hospitalized. 1980s

1980 marked the opening of a new rehabilitation center in McKay Dee. The center included a rehabilitation therapy pool as well as a gym for cardiac patients.

The completion of the Rehabilitation Center has freed up space at the ‘A’ level in Dee for the construction of an integrated ambulatory surgery center. Patients enter the Center through the south door of Dee Hospital, check in at the “A” mark, and all tests ordered by doctors are taken in the same room prior to surgery. After a period spent in the recovery room, the patient is returned to one of the 14 adult or 6 pediatric beds at the surgical center for an observation and recovery period before returning home the same day, usually within four to six hours for the entire procedure.

In 1986, the doors of the new McKay-Dee Ambulatory Surgery Center and professional office building opened.

In June 1987, the McKay-Dee Institute of Mental Health began operations. The space has been designed to provide privacy and convenience, with separate rooms for children and adults. It provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for a variety of disorders, including depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

McKay-Dee becomes one of the few employers in the state to open a child care center for employees’ children. The center was located on the ground floor of the hospital, and children became a familiar sight around the facility. In 2002, day care services continued on the new campus of McKay Dee Hospital, with care provided at the Child Development Center built next to the hospital on campus.

        1990s forward

On August 28, 1997, Intermountain Health Care and McKay-Dee announced plans to build a new hospital to replace the aging McKay-Dee. The project was proposed on 63 acres (250,000 m 2 ) of land about two blocks south of the existing hospital. The planning process for the new facility began with a petition to the City of Ogden Planning Commission and City Council to approve the rezoning of the property. The request was eventually granted thanks to the support of many neighbors. Texas architecture firm H.K.S. was selected from 12 bidders to develop plans for the construction of the new McKay Dee Hospital. Last year, the company ranked first in the nation for the amount of dollars spent on new healthcare facilities. The firm also maintains ties with local design group Design West.

In January 2000, McKay Dee Hospital was recognized by HCIA as one of the best hospitals in the Eight-State Mountain Region. The nationwide survey of hospitals is conducted annually by HICA Inc., a national health research company based in New York City.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2000, ground was laid for the Child Development Center on the new campus of McKay Dee Hospital. The new center will occupy approximately 9,000 square feet (plus a playground) to the northwest of the main facility. It will house 122 students versus the current 65.

The new McKay Dee Hospital Center opened on March 20, 2002 with a red ribbon and fireworks. Operations at 3939 Harrison Boulevard, the former McKay Dee Hospital Center, ceased in the early hours of March 25, 2002. Eight ambulances lined up in front of the emergency room just before 6 a. m., ready to transport more than 150 patients. to the new hospital. The transfer began with the most critical patients.

New McKay-Dee welcomed his first child at 11:29in the morning. The parents of the last child born in the old hospital rested in the same room about 15 minutes before the start of the patient’s move.
