Infant Daycare (6 Weeks-1 Year)

A lifelong love of learning begins in the very first years of your child’s life. At The Sunshine House of Anderson, SC, your baby will explore and learn in a nurturing, loving environment that provides the warmth and security your child is used to receiving at home.

We are focused on the individual care needs of your baby, and utilize the primary caregiver system in our nursery. A specific teacher will be your baby’s main caregiver with primary responsibility for building a relationship with your baby, meeting your infant’s care needs and answering questions related to your baby’s day, progress and development. Your caregiver will also work closely with you to provide consistency with your existing feeding, playing and sleeping schedules.

While your baby is playing, your infant is also learning. Using our individualized Brain Connect Infant Curriculum, each week your caregiver will create a lesson plan for your baby, tailored to your child’s interests and development. We also utilize Creative Curriculum®, a nationally-recognized curriculum that helps support your baby develop critical skills. Meet Our Director, Sonya Capps

My name is Sonya Capps and I live in Anderson, SC. I have a husband, two boys (not in the home anymore), and one grandson who is the light in my life. I also have three small dogs at home which I consider to be my children. I love to spend time with my family and play on my cricket.

I have an associates degree in Human Services, and I am working on my ECD certificate now and should be done in August 2022.

I have been in childcare since 1998. I came to the Sunshine House family in 2017, shortly after I moved here from Mississippi. I started out in the Infant room and worked my way up to Assistant Director, and then to Center Director. The family I have found here at the Sunshine House has been a blessing to me; they have pushed me to come out of my shell and try new things. My passion is children; watching them grow and learn every day brings me such joy knowing we had a part in their development.

I plan to get a get a card for the teachers, but I wanted to express my feelings for the whole facility. Since Mackenzie is getting older and doesn’t like being at a “daycare,” it’s just time for us to move on. It’s a little sad for me that next week will be our last week there. As a parent, handing over your children to someone to care for and protect, as well as entertain, teach, etc, is a big decision. I was very nervous about leaving the kids there at the beginning, not knowing if they would have friends, or how they would be treated, or if the teachers would be kind, etc. I used to watch the Watchmegrow website constantly, making sure the kids seemed happy and taken care of. After all of that and all the time we’ve spent there the last year, I want to thank you and the staff. Thank you for protecting my children. Thank you for looking out for their well being. Thank you for working with Owen on his letters. Thank you for keeping the sun screen on so well that they never came home with a burn. Thank you for making them laugh. Thank you for bandaging Owen every time he got scraped up. Thank you for hugging them. Thank you for calling me to let me know Mackenzie was sick, even though I was already on my way. Thank you for locking the doors for their protection. Thank you for safely transporting them to field trips and to school. As a mom, I will always worry when my kids aren’t with me, but it’s no longer for the reasons I mentioned earlier, and that’s because of you, Jen, Lauren, Julie, Caleb, Stacey, Sam and maybe a few others that are gone now, or that I’ve forgotten. It’s not just a daycare, but it’s individuals that really take care of our kids, and your team has been great for us, and to us. Feel free to pass the note along and keep up the good work. It means a lot.

We’re still a little new to Room 3, but so far everyone is very nice and they seem to love our little girl, so we LOVE that! Knowing that Ms. Tina was going to be there definitely set our minds at ease with the transition. (Who knew that would be so hard?) We can tell our daughter enjoys going to school every day so that speaks volumes to the teachers! We can’t say enough great things about room 2! We always knew that we were leaving our daughter in good and trusting hands, which made our work days away from her a little eaiser. Their cheerful personalities and perma-smiles brightened our days, so we can only imagine the effect they had on the kids! Thanks for having awesome teachers!!

I don’t know where to begin to express the appreciation we have for the teachers at All About Kids! We’ve been blessed to a part of the program for over 2 years and are so thankful for the love and support each teacher has shown our children. Every morning they greet us with smiles and seem excited to spend the day with our kids. They give hugs and kisses, and discipline when necessary. Our son has learned so much and continues to surprise us with what he knows like: breaking out in random songs and dance (like the hokey pokey), counting, saying his ABCs and not to mention all the stories he tells about his friends! So thank you teachers for the commitment you make to improve the lives of our children. We will forever be grateful for the love and guidance you have provided!

I just wanted to send a quick note for our Room 7 teachers. Ms. Brittany and Ms. Courtney consistently create a fun, interactive, encouraging and warm environment for our daughter. We always feel comforted leaving our sweet girl in the hands of these wonderful teachers. We are very thankful for them and the entire All About Kids Anderson community. The patience and knowledge that you all have is inspiring!! Thank you ALL for helping our daughter grow!!!

We have so many great things to say about all the teachers our girls have had so far at AAK. I could not write enough thanks to all the wonderful teachers at AAK who are part of our girls’ lives and development. It is not just a daycare, it is a special school, and we feel so blessed to have you all!

Uses facility EMR to accurately document

engagements with clients in treatment with concise, fluid communication in the electronic chart.

Ensures all clients are in attendance with individual and group treatment sessions, as well as approved outside meetings.

Maintains strict confidentiality of client information and records without exception.

Clarity surrounding cultural sensitivity and professional boundaries.

Attends all staff meetings and trainings as directed by supervisor.

Works continuously to maintain the cleanliness and functional order of the Chateau.

Anderson , named after Chief William Anderson, is a city in the county of Madison County, Indiana, United States. ^[6] This is the main city of Anderson, Indiana. Metropolitan Statistical Area which covers Madison County. Anderson is the headquarters of the Church of God (Anderson) and home of Anderson University, which is affiliated with the Christian denomination. Major city attractions include the historic Paramount Theater and the historic Grunewald House.

The population was 56,129. 2010 census, ^[7] down from 70,000 in 1970. ^[8]

History

Prior to organizing Madison County, William Conner entered the land where Anderson is located. Conner later sold the land to John and Sarah Berry, who donated 32 acres (13 ha) of their land to Madison County on the condition that the county seat be moved from Pendleton to Anderson. John Berry laid out Anderson’s first board on November 7, 1827. In 1828 the seat of justice was moved from Pendleton to Anderson.

The town is named after Chief William “Adam” Anderson, whose mother was a Delaware Indian and whose father was of Swedish descent. Chief Anderson was called Kikthawenund in Lenape, which means “creaky branches”. ^[9] The village of Delaware was known as Anderson’s Town, although the Moravian missionaries called it “The Heathen City Four Miles Away”. Anderson was also known as Anderson before being formally organized as Anderson.

The notion of domestic improvement through the Mammoth Internal Health Act caused a population increase in 1837. In December 1838, Anderson was incorporated as a town with 350 inhabitants. The Central Canal, a branch of the Wabash and Erie Canal, was planned to pass through Anderson. Work on the canal continued in 1838 and early 1839years, but soon the work on the canal was suspended by the state after the Panic of 1837. The city became a sleepy village again until 1849, when it became a city for the second time. Many new commercial ventures are located around Court Square.

This amalgamation was short-lived, and in 1852 Anderson returned to village status again. However, with the completion of the Indianapolis Bellefontaine Railroad, as well as their station, in 1852, Anderson came to life. Anderson’s third transformation into a city took place on 9June 1853. The population continued to grow. On August 28, 1865, with a population of about 1,300, Anderson was incorporated as a city.

Between 1853 and the late 19th century there were twenty industrial establishments of various sizes. On March 31, 1887, natural gas was discovered at Anderson’s. Because the Indiana Gas Arrow This discovery caused new businesses that could use natural gas, such as glass manufacturing, to move to the city. Anderson grew to such a size that the Cincinnati Newspaper Editor called the city “The Pittsburgh on the White River. ” Other names were “Queen City of the Gas Belt” and (due to the vulcanization and rubber tire business) “Puncture-Proof City” .

In 1897 Intercity Railroad was born in Anderson. Charles Henry, a major shareholder, coined the term “long distance” in 1893. He continued to work until 1941. 1912 was a disaster for Anderson when natural gas ran out due to the fact that the inhabitants squandered their resources. The city left its gas lights on day and night, and there are stories of pockets of natural gas being lit and burning in the river for extended periods to make the spectacle. As a result of the loss of natural gas, several plants have moved. The whole city slowed down. Commercial Club (formed on November 18, 1905) was the forerunner of the present Chamber of Commerce.

This club convinced the Remy brothers to stay in Anderson and others to settle there. For decades, Delco Remy and Guide Lamp (later Fisher Guide), which built the M3 submachine gun and FP-45 Liberator pistol for the Allies during World War II, were the city’s two top employers. From 1913 to the 1950s, the Ward-Stilson Company was one of the largest manufacturers of uniforms, regalia, furniture, and props in the country. Freemasons, the Strange Fellows and dozens of other US fraternal organizations.

The Church of God Anderson is headquartered in Anderson in 1905. The Anderson Bible School was opened in 1917, and in 1925 it was separated from the Gospel Trumpet (now known as the Warner Press). At the same time, it became known as the Anderson Bible School and Seminary. In 1925 the name was changed to Anderson College and then to Anderson University in 1988.

Over the years, 17 different types of cars have been produced in Anderson with the Lambert family among the city’s leaders in its development and the Buckeye Gasoline Buggy the Lambert. Many other inventions were perfected at Anderson, including the gas regulator (Myron G. Reynolds), the stamp vending machine (Frank P. Dunn), the clothes press (G. Donald Force), the Irish Mail handcarts (Hugh Hill ), flower. funeral home car (Francis M. McClain, automatic transmission ^{[ citation needed ]} (Von D. Polhemus)), Sisson’s choke (Glenn Sisson) and vulcanization process for retreading tires (Charles E. Miller).

Anderson hosted the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the 1949–50 season, being one of the smaller towns that hosted the Big Four Major League American Sports franchise. The Anderson Packers were a founding member of the NBA (under that name), but folded after one season. ^[10] ^[11]

Like most other industrial cities in Indiana and the Rust Belt in general, Anderson was hit hard by the deindustrialization of the 1970s and 1980s. For example, during the 1970s, General Motors employed about 22,000 people; by 2006, that number had dropped to less than 2,600. Anderson has since struggled with higher levels of poverty and unemployment.

Anderson is located at 40°06′00″N. 85°40′53″W / 40.100041°N 85. 681525°W / 40.100041; -85.681525. ^[12] The city of Anderson is located in six townships: Anderson, Union, Richland, Lafayette, Adams, and Fall Creek.

According to the 2010 census, Anderson has a total area of 41,479 square miles (107.43 km2). ² ), of which 41.37 square miles (107.15 km ² ) (or 99.74%) is land and 0.109 square miles (0.28 km ² ) (or 0.26%) – water. ^[13]

2010 Census

As of the 2010 Census, ^[3] people, households and families lived in the city. The population density was 1,356.8 people per square mile (523.9/km ²). There were housing units at an average density of 675.7 per square mile (260.9/km ²). The racial makeup of the city was 78.8%. White, 15.2% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 2.6% from other races, and 2.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.8% of the population.

Of existing households, 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.8% were married couples living together, 17.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.5% with no wife present and 41.6% were not families. 34.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2. 28, and the average family size is 2.91.

The average age of city residents was 37.8 years. 22.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 11.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.8% were between 25 and 44 years old; 24.9% were 45 to 64 years old; and 16.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 47.9% male and 52.1% female.

2000 Census

As of the 2000 Census, ^[16] people, households and families lived in the city. The population density was 1,491.6 people per square mile (575.9/km). ²). There were housing units at an average density of 690.3 per square mile (266.5/km ²). The racial makeup of the city was 81.99%. White, 14.88% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.86% from other races, and 1.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.07% of the population.

There were 25,274 households out of which 27.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 41. 4% were married couples living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39. 0% had no family. 33.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.87.

In the city, the age distribution of the population shows 23.2% under the age of 18, 11.2% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64 and 16. 6% are aged 65 or older. Economy

When General Motors closed its operations in Anderson, the city suffered a major economic blow as GM was Anderson’s largest employer. ^[17] However, in 2007 Anderson was ranked 98th in Forbes’ List of the 100 Best Places to Do Business in Small U. S. Metro Areas. ^[18] However, Anderson’s more recent (2014) assessment from the Indiana Business Review was mixed, noting that “long-term trends are negative”, citing “a long-term trend of declining employment in the area” and “an increase in the number of stamp recipients for food.” Unemployment has come down lately, but improvements still lag behind the rest of the state. ^[19]

In 2013, the estimated median household income was $33,574 (compared to Indiana’s median income of $48,248). The per capita cash income was $18,216 (in Indiana, $24,635 per capita). An estimated 25.8% of the city’s population lives below the poverty line, compared to 15.4% statewide. ^[20] Madison County, which contains Anderson, has nearly three times as many food stamp recipients per capita as Indiana as a whole. ^[21] ^[22]

Education

Anderson Public School District is the Anderson Community School Corporation which includes one high school, Anderson High School, which serves 9–12 grades; one junior high school, Highland Middle School (formerly Highland High School) which serves grades 6-8, six elementary schools (Eastside, Edgewood, Valley Grove, 10th Street, Erskine, Anderson Elementary) which serve K-5, a children’s garden (Killbuck) and preschool (Southview). Prior to 1997, Anderson had three high schools: Highland, Madison Heights, and Anderson. In 1997, Madison Heights closed and Anderson High School moved there. In the fall of 2010, Highland High School closed and was converted to a junior high school, bringing together all 9 students-12 grades to Anderson High School.

Anderson also has a charter school (non-traditional public school) called Anderson Preparatory Academy. Currently, Anderson Preparatory Academy has classes from K-12. Anderson Preparatory Academy is a military college preparatory academy. All cadets in grades 6-8 are members of the Civil Air Patrol. Senior cadets are members of the Air Force JROTC program. Initial plans only suggested offering 6–9classes, and then each year to add another upper class before renewing the lower classes.

Anderson University and Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana are also located within the city.

The city has an open library – Anderson Public Library. ^[25]

On the first of September, festive lines were canceled in schools. And yet, parents of first-graders will be able to celebrate this day with fun, albeit in a small circle of guests.

AnderSon’s most family cafes will be in a festive mood this day, with a special animation program and gifts for every child.

“School is school, but Anderson is on schedule” is the name of the holiday program, which will be on that day in all 40 cafes of the chain across the country.

Anderson’s best holiday animators – professional actors – will hold the most popular programs for free on this day, entertain children at master classes and give each child a memorable gift.

And in every Anderson on this day, dance flash mobs, “breaks” with paper airplanes, incredible magical “wish walls” and thematic photo zones with funny insta-phrases “I believe in a miracle and in myself”, “Good thoughts” will create a festive mood come true more often”, “The most beautiful children are the happiest”.

Special entertainment on this day will be in Anderson on Sokol and near the Park Kultury metro station. On the Falcon, kids who are going to kindergarten for the first time will learn how to part with nipples in a fun and playful way – a magic tree will help them with this! And in the cafe on Leo Tolstoy Street on the evening of September 1 there will be a real holiday for parents – the Stand-up show “Children to school – mothers to dance.” We will joke not like a child on parent-child topics, while the guys will have fun in the playroom.

To everyone who couldn’t celebrate their graduation in the spring, Andersons offer to combine both holidays and arrange a “graduation in reverse”. Make friends with children and smoothly enter the educational process.

Monstro Lab with adorable monsters for the little ones, Party-hype, where all party participants will get to a comedy show or Stream boom show without warning, where you can feel like a guest of popular TV and YouTube shows. Programs are designed specifically for children of different ages.
