I don’t have to worry about that with 9round. Because it keeps people moving. ”

What members are saying

“I’ve joined other normal gyms, with rows and rows of machines. I always felt like I was just floating from machine to machine, with no real plan of a attack, and never really getting a great workout in. 9 Round takes the guesswork out of it. They have the full workout planned, every day is different, and it’s always a full body workout. No legs or arm day. It’s every workout. David Charles Collier

David Charles Collier , commonly known as D. C. Collier or as “Charlie” and sometimes given the honorary title of “Colonel”, was an American real estate developer, community activist, and philanthropist in San Diego, California in the first years of the 20th century. He is best known as the organizer and director of the San Diego Panama California Exposition (1915–16). He was also the main developer for several areas of San Diego, as well as La Mesa and Ramona. At one time he was called “the most distinguished citizen of San Diego.” [1]

Early years

Collier was born on August 14, 1871 in Central City, Colorado. His parents were David Charles Collier, an attorney, judge and journalist, and Martha Maria (Johnson) Collier. The younger David Charles Collier was generally called Charlie. He moved to San Diego with his family when he was 12; he and his family often picnicked or camped on the beach in the then undeveloped area of Ocean Beach. He attended Russ High School (now San Diego High School), then worked as a janitor and accountant. By the age of 20, he was working as a lawyer in his father’s office. At 16, he bought a property on Ocean Beach, at Alligator Rock (now Ocean Front Street at Bacon and Coronado Streets), and built a cabin there. Gradually, he expanded the hut into a large house with a swimming pool and a Japanese garden, where he lived for decades. [2]

Family

He married Ella May Copley, sister of a congressman. Ira S. Copley January 1, 1896; they divorced in 1914. [3] They had two sons, David Copley Collier and Ira Clifton Collier. David became a military pilot and died in a plane crash during the First World War. Ira moved to New York and became a newspaperman. D. C. Collier married his second wife, Ruth Everson, on November 14, 1915. After her death in 1916, he married Clytie B. Lyon on December 13, 1919 [4]

Career

After the death of his father in 1899, he began to practice law with Judge W. P. Andrews and later with Sam F. Smith. Many of his clients paid him in real estate instead of cash, often offloading undeveloped lots they considered worthless. [2] So he spent more and more time in real estate development under various names: Ralston Realty Company in 1904, Easton Collier Company in 1905, Western Investment Company in 1908 and D. C. Collier and Company in 1909. [4] He divided the land, introduced utilities, planted trees and sold lots in many areas, including Ocean Beach, Point Loma, [5] Pacific Beach, University Heights, Normal Height, North Park, East San Diego , and Encanto. He built a rail line to Ocean Beach in 1909, which greatly accelerated development there, and is considered by some to be “the real father of Ocean Beach.” [2]

He also bought property in Ramon, including five gold mines, and built a vacation home on a 240-acre ranch there. [1] He also owned a house and poultry farm in La Mesa (then called La Mesa Springs) and built the city’s first spring to bottle and sell water. [6]

As his business prospered, he took a leading role in civil affairs, influencing the city’s decision on where to buy water, persuading Glenn H. Curtiss to fly his fledgling aviation company to the North Island in Coronado, and helping the city of San Diego take over its tides from the state. He was president of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. He served on the staff of the Governor of California. James Gillette since 1907 to 1911. It was Gillette who gave him the courteous title of “Colonel”, which stuck with him for the rest of his life. [7] He was a flamboyant dresser and conspicuous consumer, he had the first phonograph and the first car in San Diego. [4]

Philanthropy

His philanthropy was generous and widespread, especially in regard to the donation of land for public purposes. He built Ocean Beach Elementary School, a two-room school, and donated 60 acres of land in Ocean Beach “for the kids.” The end use of this land included three parks, all originally named Collier Park: William Cleator Park, Dusty Rhodes Park, and a nearby park still named after Collier. Other parts of the site became a junior high school (originally Collier High School, now Correia High School), a YMCA facility, a church, and Nimitz Boulevard. [2] He also contributed to the development of the park in La Mesa, which still bears his name. He donated 10 acres of land in Ramona, which became the first county park in San Diego County. [1]

California Panama Exhibition

When the city of San Diego began to consider holding an exhibition to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal – and to emphasize San Diego’s position as the closest American port to the Canal – Collier became the prime mover. He has served as General Manager of the Panama-California Exposition since 1909 to 1912 and President of the Exhibition from 1912 to 1914. Collier chose the central exhibition. Balboa Park was chosen as the site by California Mission as the architectural style, and hired Bertram Goodhue to be the consulting architect. He also chose “human progress” as the cultural theme of the exposition. [7] A thematic exhibition on the anthropology of the US Southwest, later became the San Diego Museum of Man, of which he was the founder.

He served for free, paid his own travel expenses to Sacramento and Washington to lobby for the exhibit, and donated $500,000 to the exhibit. K 19In 14, his business suffered so badly that he had to step down as president and return to practicing law and selling real estate. He continued to be actively involved in the exhibition, serving as commissioner of public relations. As trustee of the defunct Wonderland Amusement Park in Ocean Beach, he arranged for his exotic animals to be sold to the fledgling San Diego Zoo.

Later career

He ran unsuccessfully for city council (1917) and county warden (1932). He continued his development activities, especially in Ocean Beach and Point Loma. Between 1918 and 1930 he held various positions in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York, including directing several major exhibitions. In 1930 he resumed his legal practice in San Diego. He died of a heart attack on November 13, 1934; his fortune was on the verge of bankruptcy. Because he was a Mason, he was buried in the Masonic section of Mount Hope Cemetery.

Recognition

A memorial plaque was erected in his honor. Balboa Park Plaza California Quadrangle at 19 Collier County Park. San Diego County . Retrieved November 5, 2012.

Description of route

County County Collier

Miles Lenery, Florida, Florida, starting with a trunk 41 ) in Naples. It travels east on Davis Boulevard, passing through the neighborhood of East Naples. This section has an eastern terminus at Collier Boulevard, signposted to the north as State Road 951 and south as County Road 951, near exit 101 of Interstate 75 (Alligator Alligator) south of Golden Gate. East of SR/CR 951 the road is known as Bekbulvar, an unsigned road. [4]

From 1969 until the completion of Interstate 75 in 1993, SR 84 was the main Alligator route through the Florida peninsula.

Broward County Segment

12 mile section in Broward County, Florida is now primarily a service road for Interstate 595 (SR 862), with westbound lanes adjacent to the New River Canal. The easternmost three miles (5 km) is a divided four-lane highway traversing the Fort Lauderdale area mostly known as the Marina Mile Parkway (although the easternmost mile of SR 84 is also known as Southeast 24th Street). The present I-595 follows the original route of SR 84 just west of the split between the two roads. [5]

In the 1960s, it became apparent that the Tamiami Trail was becoming insufficient to handle the rapidly growing traffic between Tampa and Southeast Florida, and the addition of lanes to the road was once considered a major engineering achievement. , was impossible in light of the demands of the neighboring Everglades National Park and the Miccosukee Tribe living near the Trail. In the end, it was decided that a second transnational road would best meet the need for motorists to travel “coast to coast” south of Lake Okeechobee, a new two-lane freeway with a limited access toll, “Everglades Parkway” (the original name of the road, which has become more known as “Alligator Alley”). January 15 19In 1969, construction of the highway was completed, and State Road 84 designation and signs were placed along the entire length of the road (101 miles or 162.54 km) from Naples to Fort Lauderdale.

Two decades later, the southern extension of Interstate 75 from Tampa was progressing in earnest, as was the construction of Interstate 595. Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport), and the eastbound lanes of SR 84 have been shifted south to accommodate the new expressway which descends what was once a large grassy median with limited crossings/turns to SR 84. I-595 was opened to traffic in the mid-1980s.

When Alligator Alley’s four-lane traffic was completed to comply with interstate highway and environmental standards (several tunnels were built at various points under the road for the endangered Florida Panther), the signs along the toll road designation SR 84 were removed and the I- 75 replaced them in early 1993. Although SR 84 may have remained a hidden road sign, the Florida Department of Transportation decided to replace it with an already existing hidden sign for I-75 south of Gillette: SR 9 Google (December 25, 2015). Dzhokhar TSARNAEV. The story of the “Boston terrorist” / Boulevard

“Gordon Boulevard”, No. 23 (527) 2015, May

June 9, 2015

Crime and Punishment

June 11, 2015 00:00

Alexandra OVERVIEW

On May 15, a US court sentenced to death Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a 21-year-old U. S. citizen, an ethnic Chechen, who was found guilty on all 30 counts, including his involvement in the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Then, as a result of two explosions at the finish line, three people were killed and about 300 were injured. Dzhokhar’s brother and accomplice, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was shot dead by police during the course of his arrest. The Internet edition “GORDON” decided to restore the history of the “Boston terrorists”

DEALED MARIJUANA, LOVED HIP-HOP AND AVOIDED TALKING ABOUT POLITICS

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was born on July 22, 1993 in the Kyrgyz city of Tokmak (administrative center of the Chui region), his elder brother Tamerlan (1986-2013) (capital) and Elista the largest city of Kalmykia). Their father, Anzor Tsarnaev, is a Chechen whose family was deported to Tokmak from the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and their mother, Zubeydat Tsarnaeva, is an Avar, a native of Dagestan.

In the late 1990s, the whole family of the Tsarnaevs moved from Kyrgyzstan to their homeland, Zubeidat, to Makhachkala. Already in the early 2000s, they asked for refugee status in the United States, where they were in the same position at the beginning of 90’s brother and sister Anzora left. Five months later, US authorities issued the Tsarnaevs permission to immigrate as refugees. Then, in 2000, 14-year-old Tamerlan received a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. It is known that Dzhokhar at the time of obtaining a green card had a passport of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan.

While studying at the Boston school (Cambridge Rindge & Latin School) Dzhokhar was quite sociable, was fond of volleyball and wrestling. For success in sports, he received a scholarship to study at a university in the amount of $ 2,500 from Cambridge (Massachusetts). So Tsarnaev entered Dartmouth College at the University of Massachusetts and since 2011 has lived in Cambridge.

Little Tamerlan Tsarnaev with his father Anzor, mother Zubeydat and uncle Muhammad Suleymanov, 1987. In 2011, the couple divorced – there is a version that one of the reasons for the divorce was Zubeydat’s passion for radical Islam

The annual cost of college education exceeded $22,000, and Dzhokhar’s sports scholarship was only $2,500, so Tsarnaev, according to acquaintances, was selling marijuana. The dorm roommates described him as a perfectly normal, sane person who sometimes allowed himself to smoke weed, loved hip-hop and avoided talking about politics.

In the fall of 2012, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev received American citizenship (by naturalization). By that time, Tamerlan had been married to an American Catherine Russell for two years (since 2010), with whom he raised his joint daughter Zahara, and had a residence permit.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who had a passport of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation, in the late 90s, together with his family, received a residence permit in the United States as a refugee

The brothers’ father, after moving to the USA, worked as an auto mechanic, and his mother worked as a beautician. In 2011, Anzor and Zubeydat divorced. There is a version that one of the reasons for the divorce was the wife’s passion for radical Islam. At the same time, the FBI interrogated their eldest son Tamerlan several times “on a tip from a foreign intelligence service” in connection with his possible contacts with Islamists, but did not see any criminal actions behind him.

In early 2012, Zubeydat Tsarnaeva was arrested for stealing over $1,600 worth of clothes from a Lord & Taylor store. After Zubeydat was released on bail, setting the date for the final court hearing for sentencing, she never showed up for court – she left the United States with her ex-husband and returned to Makhachkala.

Around the same period, Tamerlan Tsarnaev also left for Russia, from where he returned only six months later, on July 12, 2012. During his stay in the Russian Federation, he and his father visited Chechnya to see relatives.

By that time, the brothers had already begun to get involved in the radical movements of Islam and regularly visited Boston mosques, where Tamerlane expressed open disagreement with the views of local imams (spiritual leaders) who called for tolerance.

“COME IN MY ROOM AND TAKE ALL YOU HAVE”

On April 15, 2013, two explosions rocked the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The first one took place in the spectator area near the finish line at 14.50, and

Tamerlan, early 2000s

13 seconds later, the second one thundered at 170 meters. As a result of the terrorist act, three people were killed and about 300 were injured. Glass shattered in nearby buildings.

On April 18, the FBI released pictures of two suspects, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, taken during the marathon.

After that, according to the Bureau, Dzhokhar sent a text message to his acquaintance (a student, a citizen of Kazakhstan Kadirbaev) with an appeal: “Come into my room and take everything you have.” Kadirbaev carried out the task by taking a backpack with pyrotechnics and a laptop from Tsarnaev’s room, which he later left in a dumpster outside his friend’s house in New Bedford. The terrorists’ accomplices were also brought to justice.

DZHOKHAR TSARNAEV RIDED HIS BROTHER, DRAGGING HIM ABOUT SIX METERS

On the same day, according to police, in Cambridge (a suburb of Boston), the Tsarnaevs killed MIT police officer Sean Collier and seized his patrol car. Then they stole a Mercedes SUV along with the driver, who was later allegedly told that the terrorist attack in Boston was their work.

On April 19, 2013, US intelligence agencies are pursuing the Tsarnaev brothers as prime suspects in the Boston bombing. The FBI soon became aware of the brand of the car that the brothers stole.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s older brother Tamerlan died in a Boston hospital – death was the result of numerous gunshot wounds, blunt injuries to the head and torso, received as a result of a collision with an SUV driven by Dzhokhar

The chase ended in Watertown, where the oldest of the criminals ran towards the police and fired until he ran out of bullets. The police officers ran up and tried to handcuff him when Dzhokhar, who was in the car, rushed in their direction, prompting them to run away. The police fled, and Tsarnaev drove over his brother, dragging him about six meters, hooking him with the bottom of the car, broke through the cordon and disappeared.

Tamerlan died in a Boston clinic – death was due to multiple gunshot wounds and blunt injuries to the head and torso, received mainly as a result of being hit by an SUV driven by Dzhokhar.

According to the investigation, during the arrest Dzhokhar Tsarnaev resisted and, having been wounded, hid from the police for several hours. However, soon the police, using infrared cameras, found the bloodied Dzhokhar in a boat under a tarpaulin. The police threw stun grenades at the boat and detained Tsarnaev.

He was taken to the hospital in serious condition with a wound in his throat. According to the investigation, before his arrest, Dzhokhar tried to shoot himself by putting a bullet in his mouth, which is why he began to give his first testimony a few days later (April 22) in writing. On April 24, the FBI, at the request of doctors, distributed a message about

that Tsarnaev’s condition is satisfactory.

Hiding in a boat before being arrested, Dzhokhar, thinking that he would soon die, wrote on it that the attack was revenge for the deaths of Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq at the hands of American soldiers. And also that he does not regret the death of his brother, because he believes that Tamerlane will go to heaven as a suicide bomber.

At the time of his arrest, Dzhokhar was 19 years old. His 26-year-old brother Tamerlane was buried at the Muslim cemetery in Doswell, Virginia.

Later, the FBI was told that Tamerlan had already been interrogated in 2011, along with a thousand others in the database. According to investigators, the request to check the older brother in connection with the activities of Islamic radical organizations was made by “foreign special services.” The said special service did not respond to a response request from the FBI.

The Boston bombing came as a shock to the country. Later, the victims spoke at the trial with their testimonies, including the father of an eight-year-old boy – his son was literally torn to pieces

The Bureau emphasized that “the Tsarnaev brothers have never been used as sources by the FBI, and the Bureau has not attempted to obtain them as informants.”

On April 22, 2013, at a preliminary court hearing held in a hospital, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was formally charged with the crimes under the US federal criminal code: “use of a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death” and “intentional destruction of property resulting in death” . On July 10 of the same year, at a federal court hearing in Boston, Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty to all charges.

On January 30, 2014, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the prosecution would seek the death penalty for Tsarnaev, and therefore the attempted pre-trial settlement of the case failed.

charges. However, in March, the defendant’s defense in court confirmed his involvement in the attack, arguing that Tsarnaev had fallen under the influence of his brother Tamerlane. The prosecution demanded the death penalty for the defendant, the lawyers asked for a life sentence.

On April 8, 2015, the jury returned a verdict against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. This was preceded by 17 days of testimony and presentation of evidence. The jurors were shown photos and videos of the aftermath of the explosions.

Survivors of the attack spoke with their testimonies. Among them was the father of the deceased eight-year-old boy, Martin Richard, who was literally torn to pieces by the second bomb.

The prosecution described Dzhokhar as a cold-blooded killer who, along with his brother Tamerlane, planned a crime against American citizens in retaliation for the actions of the US army in Muslim countries.
