How yachting is taught. From personal experience.

The author of the article does not insist that

his opinion on the matter is the only correct one.

But it has a place to be.

If you are reading this article, then most likely you want to learn yachting. Maybe even in our sailing school. We are very glad that our regiment (yachtsmen) has arrived.

Our school has prepared many cadets for 7 years. And for us, as a school, this is a very interesting experience. People come to study mainly in 2 cases:

  1. I was at sea with someone, watched what and how, tried to do something, liked it and now there is an intention to systematize some knowledge and (possibly) get a “crust”.
  2. I read, dreamed, watched films and realized for myself – I WANT TO BE A CAPTAIN!

And here there is just something to talk about. The main question that is FREQUENTLY asked in this case is: “when will I get the “rights” and “where they are valid”. Those. from “I don’t know anything about the yacht” to “I’m the captain” there is one obstacle – the lack of a “Navigator’s Certificate”. Those. as soon as the rights are in your hands – you are the captain. De jure – You are right. De facto no. You can convince and explain for a long time about the difficulties and difficulties, but we will go the other way.

There are examples of real people who have been trained in our school, who have achieved something “from scratch” in yachting. And there are examples of those who are not. If interested, read on.

So, the cadet went to classes, went. Practice and theory. He is also interested – he read books and watched YouTube (training videos). And maybe even asked something from the teachers. Or did not ask – due to modesty and intelligence. I studied in silence. Passed the exams and got a “SHORT”! I went on a training trip, followed the captain and listened to what and how. Acceptance of the boat, paperwork, maps, clearing of “jambs”, and without them it does not happen in real life. I came from a hike and realized that everything is clear, but what exactly …. In the course of training on different boats (racing and cruise), he figured out whether he was interested in charter rides or racing. I found 3 more of the same “yachtboats” and began to go to training – ATTENTION – in any weather – on the yacht of interest.

First with the captain. The captain at first continued to tell and show. Then I just watched. How much training this should take depends on personal qualities. When the captain saw that the cadets were coping and would not harm themselves and the BOAT, they were given the boat for independent control, provided that the instructor was on the shore with a walkie-talkie and a boat. In the conditions of the Minsk Sea. And here the Cadet understands everything about himself and the Sea. Something, of course, will break, drown, mow somewhere. But all this is under supervision and on the Minsk Sea, where home is within easy reach. And now, when PEACE AND HIGH sets in, you can go to the serious sea and train there. Again, under supervision. It is advisable to do everything on your own and get a couple or three jambs: a small storm, something to break / fix. And here in this place, when CALM AND BLUE sets in, you can say that your “crusts” will be useful to you to take a boat on a charter and go as a captain. And on board with you, perhaps, will be your family and friends. And it will be SAFE for them. For the sake of this idea, in fact, the article was written.

Or so: I went and studied and realized that I wanted to race on sports yachts. I repeated the path from “I don’t know how to do anything” to the stage of PEACE AND HIGH and…. began to take part in match-races on the Minsk Sea. Monotype yachts, crew change. Participated in all stages of the Sailing Federation Cup – I understood the starting procedure, rounding signs, the route, signals, penalties, and began to observe the tactics and strategy of the races. After the races, it is common for the competitors to discuss “moves” and maneuvers in detail. Participated in the “protest”. Learned to QUICKLY FOLLOW THE CAPTAIN’S COMMAND and, if possible, understand their logic. Began to read. Went to race with an experienced captain. Here in this place I realized that I can race on an equal footing among approximately equal LOVERS OF YACHTING, and not professional athletes (on a salary). Masters of sports and pros can race with masters of sports and pros. New boats with new sails can race the same boats. Charter boats can race with charter boats. And he figured out how to understand which boats he wants to race in the race, and which ones he doesn’t, because it costs other money and efforts.

Or one more thing: I went to school and realized that I wanted to buy a boat. I went the same way to the state of CALM AND BLESS. Studied the issue. I asked the captains who sail various types / classes / sizes of boats what and how. I also studied the issue. How to buy and transport, where, how to store and maintain, WHO WILL look after the yacht all year round, how to load it. What manufacturer and with what “stuffing” the yacht is needed. Bought! And walks!

Or: gathered across the Atlantic. Well, you guessed it about CALM AND KAIF. I began to read a lot and in detail what people write about such transitions. What you need to take, how to prepare, carefully studied the maps, developed route options, got equipment and a companion. I thought it over again. Checked the boat 7 times. Took tools and NZ. I took a means of communication and was puzzled by receiving weather forecasts. Went to Sea.

These are examples of those who have succeeded. There are, of course, other examples. It happens that in the course of training, a cadet understands that training is long, there is a lot of work, the weather is not always suitable for yachting, but you have to walk, and somehow this is not for him. This is normal! That also happens. But he tried and understood what he understood for himself, drew conclusions and … went on to look for what suits HIM.

As you can see, it’s not about the “crusts”. Because it is possible to be an effective team member without them. And you can be a ballast with “crusts”. And the question is, when will I get the “MP” crusts, if a person is still lost on the Minsk Sea, it’s not worth it. Everything has its time. Something like that.

Flight cancellations and huge queues at the airport: how Krasnoyarsk residents are trying to return to Russia | Prospekt Mira

Krasnoyarsk tour operators no longer issue vouchers abroad, and some tourists do not know how to return from foreign resorts.

  • Many countries have closed the skies for aircraft from Russia. Rosaviatsia in response recommended that Russian airlines suspend international flights.
  • The sanctions against Russia included a complete ban on leasing foreign aircraft – there is a risk that the aircraft will be detained or arrested. This situation has already happened with a ship that arrived in Dubai from Krasnoyarsk.
  • For a detailed text about what is happening with Russian aviation, see here.

Alena, a representative of the Meridian tour operator, told Prospekt Mira that all foreign flights on charter flights were canceled from Krasnoyarsk until March 28. Including popular destinations such as Turkey, Egypt and Thailand. Regular flights from the Krasnoyarsk airport have also been temporarily cancelled.

“All scheduled flights have been cancelled. As for charter flights for foreign tours, everything is also canceled, – Meridian explained. – This is due to the fact that there are big risks of confiscation of aircraft abroad. Departures are possible only from Moscow, and then on those airlines that do not have planes on lease, and there are few such airlines.”

The Federal Air Transport Agency reported that flight restrictions would be extended indefinitely. Money for already purchased tours is promised to be returned within a few months. Flights of domestic airlines on the territory of Russia continue.

There were queues for return flights from abroad. For example, the former Krasnoyarsk TV presenter Elena Popenko showed people for registration at the Cancun airport in Mexico. On the footage taken on March 7, you can see that the line stretched along the entire terminal. Popenko wrote that this was the last flight of AZUR Air. Now Elena is already in Russia.

Several other tourists said that they could not return to Russia. So, Alena Pivovarova, who was in Cyprus, told Yenisei that return flights were either canceled or ticket prices increased.

Sergey Inzhutov from Krasnoyarsk, who was in Spain, told Yenisei that he couldn’t get to Moscow directly, and he had to find routes with transfers.

A representative of the Meridian tour operator added in a conversation with PM that to date, all Krasnoyarsk tourists who flew with the help of the operator have been taken out on charter planes, on the morning of March 10 the last flight from Egypt arrived.

However, problems remain with regular flights. Some tourists who flew abroad on their own are still there. According to the tour operator, this is the most vulnerable category, as airlines have canceled scheduled flights and are not yet refunding money.

The tour operator added that regular outward flights are carried out, but not as often as charter ones. According to the expert, the residents of Krasnoyarsk faced this problem to a lesser extent than, for example, residents of Moscow, who often prefer to travel on their own.

For those tourists who have difficulty returning to Russia, the State Services has created a special feedback form.
