Family Reviews

Our son has been through a lot this past year and his teachers and the staff here have been nothing but patient and accommodating when it comes to our boy. He has gained so many friends, and we never worry about him in the hands of his teachers. We’ve noticed academic and social growth and him since starting their program. Very affordable for our military family budget. I can’t speak highly enough!

Chelsea Askew

Perfect hours, great staff, and great rates. I’ve called every day care in the area and waited a year to get in. Was worth the wait!! Mrs Nina makes sure we get some extra zzz’s in the morning, Kaliyah helped us potty train, and Mrs Erica made sure to break the binky habit (at least at school). Wish we knew about SSH when our daughter was little.

Pinar Mazza

The people at The Sunshine house do an incredible job with my children. Every week I am amazed at what they are teaching them. They have come home singing new songs, and speaking in sign language. It really is incredible and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Meet Our Director, Erica Smith

Hello! My name is Erica Smith, and I am the center director for The Sunshine House Early Learning Academy on Dorchester Road in North Charleston, SC. I have always had a passion and love for children. As I think back to my childhood days, I remember wearing my mother’s Sunday dress and high heel shoes around the house with school books in my hand, and using her walls as a chalkboard, pretending to be a teacher. So, I knew working with children was my calling. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and learning environment, where children can excel and grow.

I started my career with The Sunshine House on April 11, 2005 at the Long Point location in Mt. Pleasant, SC. I am the mother of four beautiful children, Keyira (18), JayLen (16), LaRon (15), and Cartiere (7).

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children, and I love to dance. Last, but not least, I love watching the Carolina Panthers play. Go Panthers!!

Scene: Grandparents are sitting listening to the music of youth. Katya is sitting over another deuce.

Grandfather:

-Katya, shame on you, is it possible to study like that even in the first grade! Look at your diary full of deuces! You were taught in kindergarten, so much effort was invested in you … and what are you? You have only dances and games on your mind.

Grandmother:

-Listen, granddaughter, your grandmother tells you right, here we are, when we were your age, we managed to sing and dance, but at the same time we studied well! Here, Katya, listen. ..

Presentation of the 1950s.

Reb: “Twist and Charleston!

You have filled the globe! »

And it really was so.

The whole world “twisted”. It was as if someone called out:

Our whole world plays like a rainbow

Chanson, we don’t sing romances

Jazz and boogie attract us!

No one could stand still.

And the sleeping town trembled,

And I thought: today the dance floor will collapse

From the tramp of two hundred feet!

Dance “Black Cat” (formation of children in a column)

Katya continues to dance . .. The sound of the door opening – mom and dad come in.

Mom: Hello, my dear, how are you doing at school?

Katya: Deuce again

Mom: How’s the deuce? Again?

Dad: Katya, what is it? When will you start thinking about studying?

Katya: Well, I can’t, I can’t think about studying, my thoughts are only about dancing!

Dad: Katya, grandparents studied well, my mother and I studied well, who did you go to? And we also loved to sing and dance in our time. Now we will tell!

Preschool children: – Katya, hello!

Katya: -Oh, hi guys! Why are you so dressy?

Reb. We have gathered today,

To celebrate our holiday

Reb. Well, what are we celebrating?

Reb. .Well, of course graduation!

Reb. .What kind of holiday is it?

Who is the hero of the occasion

Reb. .Well, of course you and I,

All the boys and girls,

Who are now standing on the sidelines.

Katya: -I like to sing and dance, but I don’t like to study!

I give mom and dad a ride

It’s not for nothing that you are preschool children,

You learned a lot:

Read, write and draw

To get fives.

Game “Help Katya”

There will be a change for little kids.

Exit number of kids

Reb: Without us, little ones, don’t be bored,

And grow up quickly!

And we’ll wait for you at school

And we’ll even borrow your desks

Reb: So that they come and immediately sit down

After all, we’re older, in fact,

And we should take care of you,

And you have an example from us must be taken!

Song “Little by little”

words by I. V. Syzgantsev

1. Once I came to the kindergarten

My dad left right away.

But I didn’t get bored much

Little by little I got used to it.

2. All the kids were screaming

Take it as soon as possible.

But I plugged my ears

Little by little I got used to it.

3. They prepared food for us

Porridge with butter for trouble.

I gagged and hiccupped

Little by little I got used to it.

4. I love to jump,

Jump, run and squeal.

I felt small

Little by little I got used to it.

5. Here they were able to change to take

Taught how to play.

I understood and comprehended everything

Little by little I got used to it.

6. Year after year, time went by

The release time has come

And I’m in a stop again

I need to get used to school.

Presentation “We are little children!”

Presenter: Today is a solemn and bright day
So exciting for us
After all, time has flown by unnoticed
Children are dancing a waltz for you!

Waltz Dance

Vedas: You are a graduate today,

You graduated from kindergarten.

Pen, eraser and diary

In a brand new knapsack.

We wish to receive

Only one mark “five”,

Learn a lot,

Kindergarten to remember!

Song about school.

Reb: How many eyes and hands do you need,

To keep track of your tomboys around –

Golden candies.

Laughing there, crying there,

And the other jumps on a stick

Not everyone is here with this business

Quickly cope, skillfully.

The teacher will do everything:

He will punish, regret,

Kiss and feed,

Before going to bed, he will remember a fairy tale.

The garden needs a teacher,

Without him, he is not so friendly.

We send you a wagon of joy,

I bow to you from the kids.

Song “goodbye, kindergarten” (Slide show “How it all began …”)

WORDS OF GRATITUDE

“Thank you” – we say tenderly

We are our educators.

We also confess to you:

You look like our mothers.

Thank you a hundred thousand times,

We will remember you all our lives.

Our nannies, thank you,

You for the sunshine of smiles,

For attention, for comfort,

For kind hearted work.

For the fact that our house is a kindergarten –

Year by year it was more beautiful,

We must say “thank you”

Our manager.

Everyone in our group knows –

It’s hard to be a Methodist

It means very, very

We must love all children.

Thanks to the musicians

For the holidays and laughter,

For the fact that there are talents

Now we all have.

Thanks to everyone who worked in the kitchen.

We cooked porridge and prepared compotes,

Without you, we would be like this

Don’t grow big!

Thanks to our doctors,

That we are not afraid of a cold.

Whatever you look at,

All, as one, heroes.

Employees of our kindergarten

From noisy and loving children

Please accept this award:

Our smiles from the bottom of our hearts.

Smile dance

Leader. Today, the excitement is impossible to contain
Your last holiday in kindergarten,
Our hearts are warm and anxious,
After all, children have grown up and go to school.

Leader. And how difficult it is to part with you,
And let you out from under the wing into the world!
You have become relatives, you have become friends,
And it seems that you cannot be found better.
Today, guys, we congratulate you!
You go to school to study, to make friends.
We wish you all success, health,
And never forget your kindergarten.

Headmaster’s speech

Host: And now the most solemn moment of our holiday. You will be awarded the very first diplomas in your life in memory of the kindergarten.

Reb: Last time in this festive hall

We will be the center of attention

Well, goodbye

Our beloved hall

You often called us here for the holidays.

The song “The very best”!

Chorus: It’s a little sad in the soul of the guys,

After all, it’s time for us to part.

No more rushing to kindergarten.

All this was yesterday.

You taught to read and count,

And they began to distinguish between truth and lies.

You told not just a poem,

And we all distinguish well.

We are grateful to everyone who was there

Protected us on the way,

Who helped us with their eyes

We find the whole world.

Chorus: We are not kids

and not preschoolers.

We will exchange all pencils

for notebooks,

Pens, bags, primers…

we have become big –

We know one, two, and three,

and four more!

We know how to learn poetry,

and read a little…

And when we came to kindergarten –

we were babies.

You brought us up,

we love you…

But we are going to the first grade.

Happy Kindergarten!!!

We unfold the banner with the inscription “We are the best”

Be braver! Making the first step to the naughty rhythms of the Charleston

About ten people came to the J. J. Stars contemporary dance studio for a Charleston lesson / Photo: Pavel Ososov, Vechernyaya Moskva

There are many places in the capital where you can learn to dance. Ballroom, modern, oriental – for every taste and rhythm. The VM correspondent went to the studio where the Charleston is being danced.

Clothes, age and additional sports training are not the main thing. You can forget about them altogether if you want to learn how to dance the Charleston. What is important is the desire and courage to take the first step. Or, as the dancers say, the first step. For those who like to relax after a working day and have fun – that’s what you need.

About ten people came to the J.J. Stars contemporary dance studio for a Charleston class. All, like me, beginners-amateurs. While we
were changing and standing in an awkward line in front of the mirrors, coach Ilya Cherny, as in the scenario from the movie “Stilyagi”, instructed:

– Here you don’t need stronger, faster, higher. Here you need drive, energy… Do you understand? Ilya asked and, without waiting for an answer, he pressed “play” on the
portable computer.

Familiar melodies blared from the speakers.

“It’s from The Great Gatsby,” whispered a lady from the second row.

– Charleston was born in America in the 1920s. Its legislators were African Americans. Tired, they came home from work and danced on slightly bent legs in local clubs, – Ilya conducts an educational program. “But then,” Ilya makes a turn, we follow him, “the Charleston captured all sections of the population, he made a clap and stretched himself to attention.

The dance was really not that difficult.

– We start the step with an off-beat movement, spread the heels, the weight of the body goes to the left leg, and the right leg rises in a bent knee in a position with a twist back and to the right, – shows Ilya.

Not everyone succeeds at first. 25-year-old Artem Ionov was brought to the dance by his friend Oksana. And, despite the fact that he swore to dance even after the school graduation ball, he could not refuse his beloved girl.

I like to go to themed parties with my friends. Crazy dances like the Charleston and rock and roll are wildly popular right now –
says Oksana, correcting Artyom’s clumsy movements.

Charismatic Ilya’s dance looks perfect. He’s free. Smiling. It seems that, unlike all of us, he does not think about movements at all. Ilya does not dance, but seems to be flying on the floor. Such skill, according to Ilya, should come to us after the second lesson. And what will
be after the last, eighth?

“Yes, I dance well!” — I’m sure that at the end of the training I wasn’t the only one who thought this to myself. That’s the beauty of the Charleston. Knowing just a couple of basic
movements, it can be danced to any music and on any venue. Close your eyes, relax and dissolve in the spring drive.

REFERENCE

Charleston is one of the most popular dances of the 20th century, originally from the islands of Cape Verde. According to another version, the dance was born in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. It is believed that the Charleston became a dance that blurred the line between “dance that is danced” and “dance that is looked at.” He became a popular dance frenzy in wide international circles of American society.20s. Girls, who were called “flappers” (which means “laughter”), and young men danced the Charleston on street platforms and in halls, thereby expressing contempt for “biscuits” (people who support dry law).
