Partners Group to Acquire Knowledge Universe’s US Early-Childhood Educational Business

BAAR-ZUG, Switzerland–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Partners Group, the global private markets investment manager, has
agreed to acquire Knowledge Universe’s US early-childhood education
business (KUE LLC) on behalf of its clients. KUE LLC is the largest
for-profit provider of early childhood education in the US and the
parent company of KinderCare Learning Centers, as well as the brands
Children’s Creative Learning Centers (CCLC) and Champions. The

high-quality educational programs through approximately 1’400 centers in
38 states. KinderCare is on track to achieve 100% national accreditation
of its centers in 2016. In May 2015, the company saw its 1’000th center
achieve this prestigious accreditation milestone, which signifies a
program is of the highest quality recognized nationally in the
early-childhood education field. KinderCare is KUE LLC’s largest
subsidiary.

KUE LLC owns two additional education businesses, CCLC and Champions.
CCLC provides early-childhood care and educational services similar to
those offered by KinderCare, in partnership with corporate clients,
government agencies and leading universities. It currently provides
programs for more than 200 clients and operates approximately 100
centers. Champions partners with schools to offer before- and
after-school educational and developmental programs. It currently runs
over 400 programs across the US.

Following the investment, Partners Group will work with the KUE LLC
management team on several initiatives to expand its programs and
enhance the experience for families enrolled at its centers, drawing on
its long track record of investment in the education sector globally.

Tom Wyatt, CEO of KUE LLC, comments: “Partners Group shares our passion
for positively impacting the lives of children and families every day
through quality education. Families will see the same experienced,
dedicated teachers and the same exceptional programs as we continue to
build on our strong foundation. I’m extremely proud of our employees’
hard work over the past three years in transforming our company
financially and culturally. It’s rewarding to now have the potential to
support even more children within our programs.”

Joel Schwartz, Managing Director, Private Equity at Partners Group, will
join the Board of KUE LLC once the transaction completes. He states:
“KUE LLC is an innovative market leader that has achieved measurable
impact with its early-childhood educational programs. Since 2012, Tom
Wyatt and the rest of the executive team have increased the focus on
engagement amongst both employees and families, leading to increased
enrollment. They have also invested in a new curriculum and increased
support for professional development, leading to a rapid climb in the
number of centers gaining national accreditation through professional
organizations such as the National Association for the Education of
Young Children. We are looking forward to working alongside the
executive team to build on this momentum and further raise the bar for
standards in early-childhood education in the US.”

The transaction has fully committed financing from Credit Suisse,
Barclays and Bank of Montreal and is subject to regulatory approvals and
customary closing conditions. Credit Suisse, Barclays, BMO Capital
Markets, Goodwin Procter LLP, and KPMG LLP are advising Partners Group
on the transaction.

PHA is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that is led by some of the nation’s most respected health and childhood obesity experts. Where and what to read about the League of Legends universe after Arcane – DTF Games

The history of Runeterra is richer than it might seem.

50 904
views

Mount Targon

So, you’ve watched Arcane and are interested in the Runeterra universe from League of Legends. Fortunately, to learn more about it, it is not necessary to enter the game itself, which requires hundreds of hours of practice. For MOBAs, this knowledge from the lore will hardly be useful to you anyway, but for future story games, MMOs, and the already released Ruined King, it’s completely.

Before talking about the lore site, and all the other sources available, it should be noted that the world of Runeterra is larger than you might think from the outside. Over the past years, Riot Games has been working on its structure, the history of the regions and the characters inhabiting them, in order to use this in the future to develop IP in new formats.

Arcane is one of those projects, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the effort that has been put into populating Runeterra in recent years. This process, however, is not without problems – there are inconsistencies that Riot is trying to fix retroactively, and the stories do not always come out as interesting as we would like. But there is progress.

Arcane Hextech Gate

The purpose of this text is not so much to tell about Runeterra itself, but to help understand how lore is generally presented, where to follow it, and why the concept of canon is still vague here.

There is no global storyline yet, so all stories should now be taken separately

Perhaps this is the first thing you need to know. Riot has already confirmed that over time it wants to launch a global story in Runeterra, most likely closer to the release of the MMO or even along with it. Now, however, all the regions are more or less separated by plot, although relations have been established between some of them. Basically they are tense.

If we talk about the relations of the regions, the empire of Noxus, obsessed with expansion, will be the link. She probably won’t be able to take other states by force alone – as shown by the recent bitter experience with Ionia, which managed to fight back.

Now the leaders of Noxus are trying to figure out how to proceed in order not to be defeated again. At the same time, the secret organization “Black Rose” with Le Blanc at the head under their own noses manipulates other states and their rulers.

Le Blanc, Leader of the Black Rose

There is a possibility that it is in Noxus that the global storyline for Runeterra will be launched. And even if everything happens somehow differently, it will still remain the most important part of geopolitics, and therefore the structure of this country should be studied one of the first among the regions.

Otherwise, the regions and events in them should be treated as separate stories, without trying to connect them to each other, unless Riot itself does this. The general timeline of Runeterra is unlikely to change, but inconsistencies arise in the details every now and then if you try to connect hundreds of different events with each other and build order.

Why are there so many inconsistencies?

The answer may be obvious, but it’s still worth saying. The backstories of all the characters in League of Legends have long been just a nice addition for those who are interested.

Over time, however, it became clear that players and Riot became too attached to these heroes – both of them saw in Runeterra the potential for something more and not so fragmented.

Near Mount Targon, magic lifts the sands of Shurima into the sky

When Riot began to build a single universe from developments, it turned out that a lot would have to be rewritten. Meanwhile, the number of champions in League of Legends has continued to grow (now there are almost 160). In addition to this, the company decided to release several more games and launched its first series, Arcane, into development.

As the regions were worked out, we had to return to the old heroes, narrative departments were opened in several projects of the company at once, and the volume of work only grew. Because of this, in the little things here and there, contradictions appeared that irritated the players.

Partly this is also due to the fact that without a global storyline in Riot, the concept of canon is still rather vague – the company adheres to the rules of the universe, but in some cases, if the story benefits from this, retcons are still allowed. Right now, for example, Riot is waiting for fan feedback on Arcane to see if the series’ stories can be made canon and the starting point for Piltover and Zaun.

Caitlin Kiramman, Sheriff of Piltover

In general, there are still enough problems in small things. Globally, of course, they do not change anything, and in Runeterra today, all the characters remain the same as we already know them. However, for those who like to thoroughly study lore, this can seriously spoil their impressions.

So everything is bad? Just not. If fans didn’t enjoy spending time in Runeterra, they wouldn’t be able to notice these inaccuracies – they wouldn’t care. Over the years, Riot has really been able to create a more or less coherent and recognizable universe, which has great potential for development in different formats.

Where is the best place to start?

The 2019 World of Runeterra or Realms of Runeterra book is the best starting point. It provides basic information about all the regions of Runeterra, their culture and inhabitants, and there are also stories that help you to feel a little deeper into every corner of the world.

The World of Runeterra begins with a story about Mount Targon, the most remote region from civilization, where only the most determined travelers and pilgrims reach. This choice was made for a reason: it is the history of the “greatest peak” that allows you to best understand the laws of the Runeterra universe thanks to its connection with magic.

What is happening around Targon is so amazing that the inhabitants of Piltover and Zaun would probably change their worldview at the sight of these events. Targon can also change them themselves – whoever climbs to the very top of the mountain will be able to absorb the power of one of the divine star essences, gaining inhuman power.

However, climbing the peak is not enough. In order for a pilgrim to receive star power, the crystal guardian of the summit must deem him worthy, since great responsibility rests with the bearers of these powers. They can’t go back to their old life.

From the description of the Judge of the Summit card in the game Legends of Runeterra

The gate behind which the celestial spheres rotate is guarded by a crystal guardian. He tests the one who has reached the top, piercing everything mortal with his gaze; the husk of fear, hopes and doubts comes off the soul, revealing the true essence of the traveler. It is on this basis that the great Judge of the Summit renders a verdict.

Targon’s story successfully draws the reader in and shows that much is possible in Runeterra. After that, there is a desire to find out what other peoples can live in such a universe and how they relate to the magic that underlies the world. This is what the rest of the 256-page book is devoted to – with dozens of sketches.

The book “The World of Runeterra” is also important because on its pages you can find a chronological list of the main global events of the universe. Starting with the war of mortals with the already forgotten sky giants ten thousand years ago and ending with the seizure of power in Noxus by General Swain.

All of the events listed in the timeline are extremely important for understanding how the universe of Runeterra was formed in its current form, but one of the most detailed is the Doom on the Blessed (now Gloomy) Isles, where the country of Helium was once located.

Helia kept a lot of magical artifacts, hiding them to keep order in the world. However, with the Doom – a magical cataclysm of enormous proportions – the country and all its inhabitants were destroyed. At least physically. The souls of the dead were captured, and the most powerful and corrupted of them turned into terrible creatures.

“The World of Runeterra” gives a basic understanding of what this universe is like, and what aspects of it attract you most specifically. Based on this, you can continue to study this world in more accessible sources, such as the game site.

Site “Universe”

The official League of Legends website has a link to a separate subsite of the Runeterra universe. It is here that biographies of champions, descriptions of regions, hundreds of stories and an interactive world map that contains additional information are stored.

Main page of “Universe”

So many texts can be intimidating, so you shouldn’t randomly run through the tabs – it’s best to start with an interactive map. Its study will solidify the information from the book “The World of Runeterra” and will allow you to understand the geographical location of the regions.

Runeterra Map

By clicking on an individual region on the map, you can open information about it and accompanying concept art. Here, for example, the local level of technology development and the attitude of the people to magic are noted.

Ionia’s page on the map

Accompanying concepts and parts

The region page has a “Learn More” link right below the description. It leads to a section about that realm, which includes a list of all the champions related to it and stories related to the region.

This is one way to sort hundreds of stories. The other is to open champion pages and read stories related specifically to them. However, this way you can miss stories about characters that are not among the champions of the League of Legends itself.

With biographies, however, one should be more careful: as mentioned at the beginning of the text, some of them are not relevant, and they will be rewritten. This also applies to some Arcane characters like Victor, Jace, Vi, and Heimerdinger. Maybe even Caitlin.

By the way, before the second season of Arcane, you should read the biography of Warwick and Singed and stories about them. In the story “Creating a Nightmare” you can see a drawing of a scene that those who carefully watched the season finale will recognize. However, if you still want to keep the intrigue and avoid spoilers, it is better to bypass these texts.

The entire list of stories can be found in the “Details” tab – here they can be sorted by publication date.

Page with all stories

Almost all of the stories are unrelated to each other, but there are a few exceptions, and some of the main ones are the stories “Fiery Tide” and “Ghost and Fortune”. They’ve been out for a long time, but serve as a direct prequel to the tactical RPG Ruined King and tell how Miss Fortune became the leader of the pirate Bilgewater by defeating Gangplank.

In addition, before Ruined King, it is definitely worth getting acquainted with the previously mentioned history of the Shadow Isles, as well as tales of characters from this region.

Chronology of events around Ruined King

Another exception is the story of the mages’ revolt in Demacia. She well reveals that the well-known culture of reading justice, honor and duty shows only the bright side of the anti-magic state.

This arc continues through several stories, a comic and a book, which is not available on the website and is sold separately.

  1. Biography of Galio and stories “Awakening the Hero” and “Flesh and Stone”
  2. Lux’s biography and stories “The Last Light” and “In the Name of Demacia”
  3. Garen’s biography and story “The Soldier and the Witch”
  4. Jarvan’s biography and story “Bone, ebony and jasper”
  5. Quinn’s biography and story “Rules of Survival”
  6. Biography of Silas
  7. Lux Comic
  8. “Shield of Remembrance” story
  9. Garen: Shield of Demacia Book
  10. The story “Rookie”
  11. The story “Confusion”
  12. The story “Shackles of faith”

The story of the mage uprising in Demacia is far from over, and it looks like it will continue relatively soon. On November 16, Riot teased several story-driven Forge games, one of which is about Demacia. In the image you can see the capital of the state, bound with the same gold chains that the leader of the uprising, Silas, wears.

The teaser clearly hints at the continuation of the story of the uprising of magicians in Demacia

In addition to the Lux comic mentioned above, there are others on the universe website. One is dedicated to Ash and is called “Mother of War”, and “Zed” tells the story of the capture of the famous serial killer Had Jin.

The Universe site also has a “Other Worlds” tab. It lists alternate universes based on skin lines from League of Legends — there are dozens of them, but only three have their own pages. The K/DA virtual group falls into this category.

Trailer for a line of skins from the alternative universe “Odyssey”

These alternate universes are unfinished so the pages just give a little more context to the nice skins.

Legends of Runeterra

Earlier in this text, an insert with a description of a card from Legends of Runeterra slipped, and this is no accident. This is because the collectible card game is now almost the main source of lore.

In total, Legends of Runeterra already has more than a thousand cards, and almost all of them at least slightly reveal the universe with the help of art and description. However, it is worth knowing that the events depicted on some cards may show a “what if …” scenario. They should be considered canonical part of the universe only if they are confirmed somewhere else.

For example, one of Caitlin Kiramman’s maps shows a raid by her squad on the lair of the Chembaron Corina Veraza, but we don’t know yet if their meeting actually happened.

Caitlin Kiramman’s raid on Chembaron Corina Veraza’s lair

In other words, all the locations, characters, creatures, and items on the cards in Legends of Runeterra are canon, but the scenarios that show them all are just used as an example of what can happen. The game can be perceived as an encyclopedia of the world of Runeterra.

What’s great is that, just like with League of Legends, you don’t have to log in to view the cards either. They are available on the updated Mobalytics website – with the ability to sort them by region, read the description and open the art.

Targon Map Page

Map page of Le Blanc

All art is signed with the name of the studio or the name of the artist

If you’re still interested in “what if…” scenarios served through voiced comics, then it’s worth checking out Legends of Runeterra. As part of the RiotX Arcane event, a permanent Path of Champions mode was added to the game, in which you can complete small quests for a specific champion, choosing one of several possible endings.

Although these stories are non-canonical, the players still warmly received the mode: they liked that the characters could be seen in situations that they might never find themselves in.

On top of that, it’s worth checking out the League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra and League of Legends: Wild Rift YouTube channels – there are a lot of beautiful cinematics there. Not all videos are important for understanding the lore, but they will help you remember the images and motifs characteristic of certain regions.

A huge portion of magic.

A huge dose of magic.

Since 1997, JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series of novels has been responsible for the magic in our world. The adventures of an orphan magician in our world, in the shadow of which the magical world perfectly exists, conquered millions of people a long time ago. The main series consists of seven books, and eight films were made based on them. In addition, separate publications related to the HP universe were published, for example, the book “Fantastic Beasts and Their Habitats” eventually grew into a new film series.

The main series also had strong support from video game developers. Each book or movie received at least one, and sometimes two games for different platforms. And even now, when almost 10 years have passed since the release of the last film about Harry Potter, the video game industry does not forget about the wizard.

In September, as part of the presentation of the PlayStation 5, Sony announced a number of projects, among which was the game Hogwarts Legacy. Its events unfold in 19century, and in the center of the plot is a Hogwarts student who holds the key to an ancient secret that can destroy the whole world.

“Journey through familiar and new locations while exploring and discovering fantastic beasts. Level up your character, create potions, improve spells, improve talents, becoming the wizard you want to be.

Discover the feeling of life at Hogwarts as you make allies, fight dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world.

The release is scheduled for 2021, but for now, we suggest recalling the main games in the GPU universe that were released on the PC.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

In 2001, simultaneously with the release of the first Harry Potter film in cinemas, Electronic Arts also released a game based on the Philosopher’s Stone. In it, the developers kept the plot of the picture and added elements from the book that were not included in the Chris Columbus tape.

The essence of the game is simple – Harry explores Hogwarts and its surroundings, collects beans, solves puzzles, jumps, runs – in a word, a classic third-person platformer.

The game received mixed reviews from critics, but became an excellent time killer. By the way, to this day you can even run it on Windows 10, which is a real achievement for old games.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

The second part of the series was released a year later, so the developers were physically unable to change the mechanics of the first game. In fact, the “Chamber of Secrets” is very similar to the “Philosopher’s Stone”: the same graphics, controls, location design, the mechanics of casting spells and flying on broomsticks. But there are also positive differences – the game has become larger in scale, and several really interesting points have been added to the plot that expand knowledge about the GPU universe.

This project received the best response from the audience, which had a positive effect on the idea of the copyright holders to rivet games based on films and beyond.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

And then there was Prisoner of Azkaban. Director Alfonso Cuarón was able to move away from the dreamlike storytelling of the first two films to something really youthful and slightly darker, just like the books intended. Changes are already noticeable in the third part of the game. In it, you can already control one of the three characters (Harry, Ron, Hermione), fly not on a broom, but on a griffin.

In general, the project turned out to be worthy, but perhaps a little tricky. It seems that the developers at Know Wonder wanted to show a lot, but they were given too little time to implement.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

The fourth part of the series has acquired one of the most controversial games. On the one hand, the developers have gone very far from previous projects, having created a concept from scratch, and on the other hand, not to say that it turned out great.

If in the first parts it was possible to explore the world of Harry Potter relatively freely, now gamers have strict limits. Each level is linear – you need to go from point “A” to point “B”, without a chance to stop to explore any nooks and crannies. The graphics have become many times better, but the image transmission by the camera is simply disgusting. The camera launches you into the sky, and you do not even approximately know what is happening on the playing field. And this is not an exaggeration – whoever played will understand.

But there are also some positive aspects, for example, flying on a broom while fighting a dragon has been added. Really high-quality and interesting level, which even now looks good.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The fifth game in the main series turned out great. Hogwarts was reproduced almost completely, making it available for study, however, they forgot to fill it with interesting jokes – who doesn’t happen to. But due to the scale, the time of passing the game suffers. Sometimes it takes much more than five minutes to get to the desired location.

In fact, there is nothing to do in the game – you just walk, run and sometimes click on the mouse to do magic. But you can get acquainted with the plot of the book / film in some detail.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The Half-Blood Prince turned out to be an interesting and finished project that you really want to return to. Locations from the “Order of the Phoenix” flowed into the sixth part, but were supplemented with a lot of useful content.

Perhaps the success of the game is also due to the fact that the sixth book itself turned out with a strong plot twist, which almost everyone knows about, but let’s not talk about sad things. If you suddenly want to try the virtual world of the classic Harry Potter, but you don’t like the square cartoon graphics of the first parts, you should definitely check out The Half-Blood Prince.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (two parts)

Two films were made based on the seventh book about the most famous wizard. Video game developers decided to do the same and created two projects, which can be distinguished only by small plot inserts. With them, the game creators distract us from the action – there is a lot of it here.

However, it is not the most exciting. In essence, the magic wand has become a submachine gun that shoots spells like AK-47 bullets. The gamer must hide in different shelters, which is difficult to do due to the curve of the mechanics, and constantly shoot at enemies. Fans of magic will not be enough for a long time, because the game has been turned into an ordinary shooter.

It was these two parts that started the trend of movie-based games turning into second-rate trash.

Bonus

But let’s not end the magical selection on the negative. Better remember a few more projects that are really worthy of mention.

LEGO Harry Potter

I would like to mention several games in the style of LEGO. Lego’s inherent humor runs through the games, making them far more entertaining than most games in the main series.

Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup

In almost every game in the Harry Potter universe, gamers have to struggle through broomstick flying levels. There you need to fly between the rings and catch the Golden Snitch. And in this project, the developers went further: the world of Quidditch is not limited to the stadium near Hogwarts, there are several venues around the world. And the user can play not only as a catcher, but also as a hunter.

intrigues of the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix in figure skating – RT in Russian

Will Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov be able to surpass Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov with new programs? Is Mikhail Kolyada able to live “Tango in a Madhouse” as incomparably as “The White Raven”? Will Kamila Valieva have enough emotions to skate the Olympic tribute to the aortic rupture again? And what aftertaste will remain from the debut programs of Morozov and Narizhny? The main intrigues of the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix in figure skating are in the RT material.

It is not the stars or the size of the prize fund that give interest to any competition. And intrigue. With regard to the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix, there are many such intrigues, although not all of them lie on the surface.

The most pronounced sports confrontation is in pair skating. The 2021 world champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov lost the Olympic battle to Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, and they lost not by skill, but by program. This year’s productions by Tamara Moskvina’s wards turned out to be much more successful and integral, but they still fall short of the competitors’ programs in terms of the effect of perception – they are perceived more banal, despite the fact that, compared to last season, the duet has strengthened the technical component.

Without relying on scores and abstracting from emotions: how to follow two Figure Skating Grand Prix at the same time

The organization of two series of Grand Prix in figure skating at the same time will inevitably lead to the fact that experts and fans will be…

Evgenia and Vladimir, who represent the Khrustalny coaching staff for the second season, also have a claim. It is that the Lighthouse free program remained unchanged for the skaters. Of course, there is nothing criminal in this: a successful performance at the Olympic Games is accompanied by a certain decline in most athletes, sometimes a protracted one.

In this regard, we can only take our hats off to Mishina and Gallyamov, who managed to change both of their productions. On the other hand, one cannot but admit that, having left the previous free program, Tarasova and Morozov only won – they did not have to waste time and effort on rolling out.

It’s a matter of honor for Mishina and Gallyamov to get ahead of such strong rivals in head-to-head combat. It is equally important for the winners of the 2022 Games not to lose the first start of the season to the ex-world champions. That is, to try from the very beginning to place the right accents in the table of ranks, especially since Evgenia and Vladimir are not going to leave the ice. Having won the Olympic silver in Beijing, they have just become a taste, but, despite their age, they have a very obvious potential to further complicate their programs.

The intrigue of the men’s tournament lies not only in whether the 2020 European champion Dmitry Aliev will be able to regain the positions lost over the past couple of years, whether Alexander Samarin is able to prevent him from doing this, and in what order the guys can even sit on the podium. No less curious is how Mikhail Kolyada will cope with his two programs. Why exactly him?

Firstly, due to the numerous advances that accompany this figure skater from the moment he appeared on the big ice, that is, the last seven years during which Kolyada did not win a single significant victory, except for three won Russian championships.

Secondly, the free dance “White Raven”, which the skater skated for two seasons, was deservedly recognized as one of the best choreographic productions in the world. Mikhail opened the current season with the Tango in a Madhouse program, which, like the previous one, was staged by Ilya Averbukh, but so far the new mini-performance falls short of the previous one. In order for the program to start playing, you need to at least start executing it without falls, “butterflies”, and preferably with a more solid jump set than a quadruple sheepskin coat. Without this, I believe, the winner of the 2018 World Cup will visually lose both to last year’s Raven and to his early model.

How important is this for Mikhail himself? Perhaps not too much. In the end, Kolyada has been riding in his own universe for a long time, where not a race of technical arms is at the forefront, but elegance and purity of lines. It is also a choice to be respected.

“So I made a mistake somewhere”: Averbukh about Medvedeva’s program, love for Tuktamysheva, Semenenko’s image and lack of knowledge

In figure skating there is an unspoken table of ranks. If you stepped over a certain line and got into the top, then for some things …

Kamila Valieva has a different problem. From the point of view of her own sportsmanship, elevated in the course of the past season to an absolutely superlative degree, this figure skater has long proved everything to everyone, although she should also be awarded the palm in the category of sports bad luck.

If Camila became the winner of a personal Olympic tournament in Beijing, she would now have every right to focus on performances in shows, advertising filming and other high-money events, and we would probably extol the successor to both Valieva and the entire current championship with might and main generation Sonya Akatiev. But Kamila lost the Olympics, and in the summer the age limit was raised, in connection with which the potential bet on Akatieva, who does not fit in the next Olympic Games by age, has lost its relevance.

The above does not negate the fact that at the Moscow stage of the Grand Prix Sofia is quite capable of imposing a serious fight on anyone, including the recognized leader. Especially if the judges do not include an additional bonus for everything experienced in Beijing in Camila’s grades.

Valieva, of course, has tremendous chances to remain the leader for the next four years, but in the current segment of the season, the figure skater, like Kolyada, is inferior to herself last year not only in terms of complexity, but also in terms of productions: the short program evokes involuntary associations with the fact that the world has already seen the performance of Camila many times, and the arbitrary Olympic tribute, no matter how you treat it, is very insidious.

If you do not roll this program to break the soul, as was done at the skates, where Valieva left the ice, bursting into tears, the production may not make the proper impression at all. And there may not be enough nerves or tears to ride at each start as if it were the last time.

In addition, this arbitrary one was clearly intended for “internal” use. In Russian realities, she too clearly speculates on emotions, including judges, but to believe that the production could play a plus for the skater at the international level would be, in my opinion, a mistake.

Can one of the rising juniors, including Akatieva, remove Valieva from the leader’s position? Quite. For the new generation, she is not so much an unattainable leader as a guide. And in this scheme it is always easier for those who catch up.

“We are not engaged in bobsledding”: Dobroskokov – about the weight of the skaters, quadruple ejections and dancing in pair skating

In pair skating, the partner’s weight plays an important role, because the load on the knees during landing after throws is significantly. ..

Of those who will perform in the dance tournament, offhand I would like to single out Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Valery Angelopol – Angelica Krylova’s wards made, perhaps, the strongest impression at the open September test skates. But there is a more significant event: the first start of Annabelle Morozov and David Narizhny. A year ago, the skaters competed in different duets, but after they lost the Olympic selection at the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg, they decided to skate together.

If this season Morozov and Narizhny decided to go under the flag of another country (it would be strange for coaches and athletes not to consider such an option, at least in theory), the past year without performances would automatically count as quarantine. But the duet’s performance at the Grand Prix stage in Moscow suggests that the skaters are not going to use the opportunity to continue their career outside of Russia.

This certainly imposes certain obligations.
