There’s no question that the competition is tough for finding a caregiving job. There may be lots of great candidates in your area. So how do you make your Care.com profile really stand out?

Potential employers are busy and you want their quick scan of your qualifications to entice them to learn more. Here are the areas to perfect, in order to maximize your Care.com profile.

1. Your photo

People are visual, and a clear, professional-looking photo is what will invite them to learn more. While there is plenty of advice on what makes a great photo, there are a few personal style choices that can be automatic turn-offs. According to Erik Bowitz of Resume Genius, things that may stand out and hurt your chances of getting a job include facial and neck tattoos or noticeable piercings, such as hoops or gauges. He cautions that even things like studs should be removed for profile pictures. Learn more about what to look for in a profile photo and what types of photos you should never use.

2. Your video

Did you add a video yet? This feature lets you insert more of your personality into your profile using our mobile app. A fun, engaging clip will show families who you are and what you’re like.

3. Your stars

When faced with a constellation of five stars on multiple caregivers’ profiles, it’s easy for families to automatically gravitate toward those, so make sure to ask families to post reviews.

Read more about How to Get Reviews on Care.com.

4. Your checks

Each profile features six potential green checkmark call-outs at the top (has transportation, distance willing to travel, non-smoker, CPR certified, First Aid training and comfortable with pets). Earn those certifications to make yourself more appealing. Always remember that the more open to situations you are, the more you expand the universe of families who may call you.

5. Your bio

Go ahead and share personal stories and anecdotes. “You want your potential employer to get to know you on a bit of a personal level,” says career advisor Anna Robinson, who serves as her company’s senior recruitment officer and also volunteers as a career counselor. She emphasizes that someone who talks about their family or others they have cared for lets the reader know them more emotionally, which can be a definite plus in the caregiving industry. Expand your appeal by adding any side jobs you can help out with, like date nights, light cleaning, meal prep, etc.

And please, we beg you, check your bio for spelling and grammar. Then ask a friend to check it. Then ask another friend. We’ve heard lots of families say that if a caregiver’s profile is full of errors, they quickly move on because it’s unprofessional.

6. Your work history

This is a mini resume that families can easily scan. Where have you worked and for how long? Include non-caregiving jobs that show off additional skills.

7. Your verifications

Safety is always a priority for families (and for Care.com too!). Employers can request a  background check on caregivers, but caregivers can also purchase their own background checks to have on file to show families how serious they are about their job search. Make sure to verify your phone number and email address and If you’re on social media, you can also connect your accounts with your Care.com profile, offering additional proof that you are who you say you are.

8. Your availability

There is no question here — the more open hours, the better! But even though you want to look as available as possible, don’t stretch the truth. It’s very frustrating to would-be employers to find out that you’re not really available the hours you have offered. Update this section regularly.

9. Your activity

When was the last time you signed into your Care.com account? It’s important to families that you be responsive and interested, so checking in frequently will assure them that you are ready, willing and able. If you last looked at your profile weeks ago, they may think you’re not actively looking for a job anymore. Someone who checks in frequently is saying that they are very interested in employment!

You only have one chance to make a good first impression. Taking time to tweak these elements of your Care.com profile will ensure that you are putting your best foot forward.

Your profile on Care. com is like your business card. It shows what you can offer and exactly how you can help families and potential employers. To help you find the right job, we have summarised what information you should have on your profile to make a good impression.

>> Looking for job opportunities? Find work in your area now.

1. Personal description

After selecting the services you provide and how much you charge, it is time to write your personal description. It is important not to underestimate the importance of this. Many carers only enter one sentence or copy a template but this is unwise as profiles with empty or generalised descriptions are quickly passed over. You want your description to be as detailed as possible with relevant information about you and your experience.

Use short, crisp sentences and ensure there are no spelling mistakes as this will make the text easy to understand for potential employers. Focus on the essentials: Who are you and why are you interested in this job? Think about the specific needs of the people you want to help. Demonstrate how your personal skills fit the needs of the person seeking care.

2. Show your experience

This is where you should highlight any relevant experience that you have. Which qualifications do you bring with you and since when do you work in this field? Have you cared for an elderly person in the past or do you have experience looking after children? While sharing your experience, you should highlight the skills that you have learnt and that will help you meet the needs of your potential employers.

3. Give examples

Have you helped families prepare for a birthday party or walked three dogs at the same time? Have you helped families decorate and prepare for the Christmas holidays? Specific examples are great to show that you are flexible in what you can do.

4. Sample examples

Below are four examples of comprehensive personal descriptions that you can adapt to describe yourself:

Childcare professional with 15 years of experience

My name is Janice and as a mother of two children and a grandmother of four, I have great experience in the field of childcare. No matter what age or stage your child is at, I have experienced it and know how to handle it. I have been working as a childminder for 15 years and enjoy every day I have children around me. I am warm-hearted, energetic and enjoy spending my time reading, crafting and playing games. I am also happy to prepare meals. Last summer, I accompanied a family on a one-week holiday where I took care of the children and allowed the parents some respite. I offer this service to other families. I look forward to hearing from you.

Reliable housekeeper for independent work

My name is Rita and I have been working as a housekeeper and domestic helper for more than 20 years. After my studies, I became a housekeeper and worked in this position for several years until my children were born. Now that my kids are grown, I have a flexible schedule. I am a hands-on person with a strong sense of order and cleanliness. I work quickly and thoroughly. I clean every home with my eyes open and take on any task that I see needs doing. I like to iron, wash curtains, clean ovens, clean windows, etc. I also have experience taking on families’ spring cleaning. I look forward to your inquiry.

Tutor in Mathematics and Physics

Hello, my name is Lisa and I am 25 years old. I am currently studying Mathematics and Physics in university. I have been working as a tutor for 2 years and support GCSE and A-Level students in these fields. With the families whom I have worked so far, we usually agree on fixed tutoring times at the beginning. Typically, we have lessons once or twice a week. I am happy to conduct the class in your home and to bring exercise materials with me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Experienced dog sitter

Hi there! My name is Tim, I am 32 years old and I have been looking after all kinds of dogs for 4 years. I gladly look after dogs on a daily basis but can also be booked for the duration of your holiday. Holiday stays should be booked four weeks in advance. I require the signing of a care contract that details our arrangement and adequate liability insurance. I currently hold a proof of competence for dog owners. I love dogs and am excited to become acquainted with yours. I can take care of up to 3 dogs at any time. Kind regards, Tim.

Delivery service | HUAWEI Support Russia

FAQ 1. What is the delivery fee for Delivery Service?

Delivery is free for warranty repairs and HUAWEI Care service programs and is provided for smartphones, tablets and laptops, smart watches, and for cities where there are no authorized service centers, also for headphones and wearable devices. For out-of-warranty repairs, the cost of delivery depends on the region, which you can find out when placing an order on the website http://pickup-huawei.telemix.ru/.

2. Are there any restrictions on the use of the “Service with Delivery” service?

The delivery service is not available due to restrictions on delivery set by the courier company, in particular:
– for shipments from the territory of the Kaliningrad region and from some other settlements. If your area is not served by a transport company, the operator will let you know. In this case, you must contact the nearest service center;
– if the battery of the device is swollen or damaged, or the body of the device is bent as a result of mechanical impact.

3. How to apply for the “Service with delivery” service?

To request a warranty or HUAWEI Care repair, call HUAWEI support at 8-800-700-16-06. An application for a non-warranty repair is issued on the website http://pickup-huawei.telemix.ru/.

4. Will my data be safe?

During the repair process, all data may be deleted from the device. Please make a backup copy of your data on a PC or memory card, for example using the HiSuite software.

5. How long will the repair take?

Repair, taking into account the time of delivery to the service center and back, will take from 5 days, depending on the region.

6. How can I check the repair status?

You can track the delivery to the service center using the invoice received from the courier. Upon completion of the repair, you will receive an SMS notification with the return shipping invoice number. You can check the status of the repair by calling HUAWEI support at 8-800-700-16-06 using the request number.

7. Is delivery safe?

It is recommended to send the devices in the original box, which will be used for the return. If the original box is lost, use a suitable size carton and sealant (bubble wrap, foam, etc.).

8. Accessories

Before sending the device for repair, remove all accessories: protective glasses, covers, films.

9. How can I check that the device has been properly repaired?

When making an application for the “Service with delivery” service, describe in detail the malfunction and the conditions for its manifestation – this information will help the service center to diagnose. If after receiving the device you are not satisfied with the quality of the repair, please contact HUAWEI support at 8-800-700-16-06.
