We believe culture is as critical as business strategy—and ours is all about transparency, respect, and collaboration. We work hard to ensure our culture is consistent from Boston to the Bay Area, Austin to Berlin. And while we work in different times zones, we’re united by our passion for helping people.

Be a part of a brand that cares

We believe caregiving is the most important job in the world: the flywheel that drives stable lives, meaningful work, and growing economies. So we help wherever and whenever we can: training refugees to work as caregivers, building a platform to offer health benefits to gig workers, and creating tools to make finding jobs easier.

Our passion for helping people, puts caregivers squarely at the center of our ecosystem. So we can help werever and whenever we can: training women in impoverished countries to work as caregivers, building a platform to offer health benefits to gig workers, and creating tools to make finding jobs easier.

We’re changing the world, and enjoying every minute of it

German, French, English, Swedish, Polish…These are just a few of the languages that you will hear at our Berlin office. As you can see, you’ll have the chance to learn from lots of different cultures.

I joined Care.com for the opportunity to work at a company led by a strong, visionary female CEO and to apply my energy towards enabling working families to thrive. From happy hours to trivia games, there’s no shortage of ways to bring fun into the meaningful work that we do!

As a great philosopher once said, “I’m a be me.” Although Wanda Sykes wasn’t referring to corporate culture, it still resonates with me because I don’t have to check part of my personality at the door when I come to work. There aren’t two versions of me.

If you want to do work worth doing—and enjoy good food, good laughs, and good learnings along the way—this is the place to be.

I brought my baby to my Care.com interviews. The office had organized a backup care provider to watch my baby while I was interviewing. Being a parent isn’t a liability, in fact, it can be a real asset. I love being able to lean into my career without feeling like I need to make a trade-off at home.

Caregivers

“I look for ways that I can bond with the individuals I care for. Several of those I support really enjoy gardening, after learning about this I have started bringing my gardening supplies to work with me so we could do activities they enjoy. Doing little tasks like this gives the individuals I care for a sense of pride and purpose and allows me to bond with them as a friend.” Denise, Caregiver

Manifesto to the employer. Caring for employees as a means of achieving KPI – Career on vc.ru

Who is primary: customer or employee

The main object of care and attention in any business is the client. Who takes care of the employee? About the person who directly maintains and creates relationships with customers, who personifies the company and forms an impression about it.

Some entrepreneurs choose a linear path – to influence the customer’s choice directly through the product. Not paying attention to the main component of effective sales – communication. In the era of the pandemic, this has become especially important. When we began to communicate with couriers more often than with friends. Therefore, customers can and should be influenced through staff. After all, people who initially contact customers determine their further decision in favor of the company (or vice versa).

We care about our employees – this is the proclaimed corporate value of our time. But what exactly is this concern? And is it tangible for those to whom it is directed?

Let’s look at the numbers

According to the results of the hh.ru survey, almost half of the respondents (47%) rate their employers’ concern for employees as low – one or two on a five-point scale.

Sincere interest in the life well-being of employees should not be limited to monthly replenishment of the bank card balance.

A customer doesn’t just need a product, just like an employee doesn’t just need a salary. We all need attention. We all need something more.

Coming to the restaurant, in addition to delicious dishes, we expect smiling waiters interested in our satisfaction.

When we come to work, we also want to notice the involvement of management in our lives, which is not limited to the coffee machine in the office and free cookies (although this is important)). Along with career growth, employees need emotional stability, which is directly reflected in the results of their work. And, as a result, on the success of the company.

According to the Hays Salary Guide 2019 study of the Russian labor market and employment, 53% of employees experienced burnout personally, and another 38% watched their colleagues experience it. At the same time, the majority of respondents (47%) who noticed symptoms of burnout in themselves preferred to change jobs, and only 6% sought the help of a psychologist.

Burn out can not work

A culture of caring for one’s internal state has not yet been formed in the Russian space. So, burnout is attributed to laziness and unwillingness to work, which is fundamentally contrary to the truth and leads to even greater problems. We are used to ignoring our feelings, treating the symptom without delving into its causes. A vacation or a one-time consultation with a psychologist does not solve the problem of burnout; it is necessary to develop a culture of psycho-emotional contact in the team.

Only through caring for employees and spreading the well-being direction, it is possible to minimize turnover, increase loyalty and bring employee engagement to positive indicators.

Output

Question to be answered periodically by the employer:

Why does the employee keep choosing our company?

How are we prepared to take care of it and how is our social responsibility manifested?

Business is people. Take care of them and they will take care of the company.

Caring is our profession: the problems and opportunities of patronage care specialists were discussed at the My Career Center

The profession of a nurse is one of the most demanded on the labor market today, especially during a pandemic. At the same time, the sphere of patronage services is experiencing difficulties, for example, a lack of qualified personnel. At the My Career Center, industry experts and specialists discussed the reasons for the current situation, and also presented a partner profile school for training nurses, which starts in March.

Since its foundation, the specialized employment center “My Career” has been creating a platform that brings together public and private companies represented by employers and job seekers. Together with the School of Nursing Care “Attention and Care”, the center is implementing a training program for nurses for those who want to learn more about the profession and improve their professional skills. The knowledge that course participants receive helps to increase efficiency, save strength and health, and prevent professional burnout.

“Caring for people is a very difficult and painstaking job. A qualified assistant, first of all, is a merciful and patient person. At the My Career Center, we want to help people get to know the profession better, improve their skills, save strength and morale. Within the framework of partner schools, we also strive to change the perception of the nursing profession in society, to increase the value of people who are engaged in such an important thing as helping other people,” – said at the beginning of the meeting Olga Lotvanova , Deputy Head of the My Career Center.

Elena Sukhacheva , Coordinator of the Attention and Care School of Visitor Care , spoke about the current problems of the patronage services market. So, despite their demand, it is very difficult to find people who want to work as nurses at the call of their hearts. People go into this profession, rather, out of “hopelessness”: if they can’t find a job anywhere else.

“Today, you can get patronage services in the services market, but how high quality such service will be is a big question. Obviously, there is a shortage of professionals in this environment. School “Attention and Care” is already four years old. And last year, we won our first presidential grant to train people in the profession of a caregiver. We are very excited that we can help a large number of people become professionals with a capital letter in such a difficult matter as patronage care. For example, we teach new methods and technologies for caring for seriously ill people, and this is not for everyone. We are proud to be involved in good deeds” , Elena added.

“There is a great desire to develop the market of social assistance to the elderly and seriously ill people: to introduce European standards of service, to create conditions so that the work of nurses is perceived as a very important, in-demand profession” , – told Elena Bondarchuk , head of the center for social services “Close people”.

Larisa Suvorova , head of the Nevozrast social service center, drew attention to the fact that carers often work privately, without official employment: “There are a lot of those who work illegally and unofficially, and it is almost impossible to influence this. There is a large staff turnover. This situation undermines the authority of the profession. It is important to work towards competent regulation and the creation of a professional community” .

Margarita Ambartsumyan , the head of the guardianship service, shared her experience in recruiting and training nurses. « The shortage of personnel and the quality of professionals are the main problems we have encountered. Therefore, we have created a multi-stage selection and training process for candidates. Within the company, we hold seminars with the development of practical skills, talk about narrow specializations and help to cope with psychological burnout. Today, the labor market is arranged in such a way that almost no one can provide guarantees that the nurse is a qualified worker. And at the same time, no one defends her rights either. We would like the market to move away from the recruitment agency format to the service format, when the nurse works in a company and knows that she will be supported, trained and employed” , Margarita shared her opinion.

Natalia Glazova , head of the social service center “Time of Care”, drew attention to the characteristics of people who go into this area. “A nurse is most often a woman over 40 years old with a secondary or secondary special education, a difficult fate and financial difficulties. Young people rarely go into this profession so far. The nurse should be a thinking and competent person, with self-esteem. It is necessary to create a professional community where everyone can receive free training in caring for different people, receive legal and psychological assistance, and advice on self-employment” , — said Natalia.

Irina Smolyakova , Director of the ANO “Care for the Neighborhood”, partner of the Dutch patronage NGO “Burtzorg”, spoke about how you can competently organize the work of the organization and increase the efficiency of employees.
