Who are Montessori schools for? – We have already won, it’s just not so noticeable.

.. as simple as it might seem at first glance. Of course, Montessori schools for children. But not for all children. Not every child can get into a Montessori school and study successfully there.

In order for a child to become a Montessori school student, several conditions must be met at once. And understanding these conditions is extremely important for the head of the school, leading the enrollment of children, choosing the location of the school, determining the strategy and channels for advertising the school, as well as pricing policy when paying for education. However, a clear understanding of the characteristics of the contingent of students (and parents), the audience to which the Montessori system is addressed is extremely important.

1. Transport accessibility. We mention the factor of accessibility among the first conditions of education in a Montessori school as the simplest and most obvious one. But not for everyone. Indeed, not any child can get to school, but only one who can be delivered to school in a relatively short time – up to 20 minutes. And, of course, home from school. If getting to school requires hours of driving, traffic jams or waiting for transport – even if the parents are most eager to send their child to a Montessori school – they should be refused simply on purely humane grounds. A child who has difficulty getting to school, so much so that he will constantly be late or stuck in traffic until late in the evening, is not your student. Not only will he be physically tired, feel discomfort from a long road, be nervous because of being late, feel hungry and thirsty, being late, say, for breakfast, such a child will often hear the grumblings of adults, their bewildered exclamations, face irritation about the fact that a child has to be transported so far, spending so much effort, time and money on it. Sooner or later, this will begin to manifest itself in absenteeism, when there is no one to take the child to or from school, and will affect his learning motivation – it will greatly decrease and will no longer be such that this child effectively learns presentations and works with materials in the environment. Problems related to the transport accessibility of the school may gradually accumulate in a child and appear unexpectedly, for example, after six months – a year of schooling, especially in the winter months, when road difficulties intensify due to short daylight hours and worsening road conditions. This means that the contingent of the Montessori school is children from houses and microdistricts adjacent to the school. It is important for the head of the school to understand this when choosing premises for schools.

2. Tuition fee. This is the next seemingly simple and understandable factor, which in fact turns out to be non-trivial. Indeed, a Montessori school cannot be free or even cheap. Materials and furniture are quite expensive, and besides, the environment constantly has to be supplemented and updated. Children should not lack consumables – pencils, paper, notebooks, paints, napkins, dishes, books, additional materials, and all this should be of a sufficiently high quality. There are also high requirements for the condition of the school premises – it must be well renovated, comfortable and aesthetically designed. Beautiful furniture, carpets, curtains, flowers, sports and household equipment are required. A Montessori school teacher should have a decent salary so that he can not think about part-time jobs, an imminent change of job and profession, focus on working with children and their parents, on preparing the environment, on their own professional and personal development, why attend seminars and lectures, participate in cultural life. The salary should provide the teacher with normal rest, the opportunity to purchase clothes and even solve the housing problem. Therefore, the salaries of Montessori teachers should be noticeably higher than the market average. Thus, parental tuition cannot be low, it must ensure the steady development of the Montessori school, eliminate the need to save on every little thing, and lead a semi-beggarly existence.

Each region has its own scale of tuition fees for Montessori schools and teachers’ salaries. Empirically, we have established that their minimum level coincides with the average regional wage (or even slightly higher).

At the same time, tuition fees for parents should be transparent and constant, be “all inclusive”, i.e. include all additional classes, services and options, such as excursions, additional classes in foreign languages, choreography and visual arts. It should also apply to the period of illness and departure of children, as well as vacations – indeed, you cannot refuse to pay rent for a room, salaries for teachers due to the fact that a child does not attend classes for some time!

This is possible if the parental fee itself is not unbearable for parents, so that they can collect the required amount only with great difficulty and hardship. Otherwise, with some fluctuations in the market and earnings of parents, the need for them to spend some extra money on repairing an apartment or car, on paying loans, they will express a negative attitude towards the Montessori school and the education of the child in it, seek and express negativity about the school in communication with other parents. This will immediately reduce the child’s motivation to work in the environment or may even lead to difficulties in recruiting new students and to the “exodus” of students (and parents) from the Montessori school. And, in the end, parents who do not have enough money, having suffered quite a lot themselves, and having tortured their child, pouring out tubs of negativity on the administration, will take him out of school.

Tuition fees, in the amount necessary for the development of the school, should not be burdensome for parents from the outset, which means that these should be people with significant incomes typical for the upper middle class – in the amount of 2-3 average regional salaries per capita and higher.

3. Understanding and sharing by parents of the values of Montessori education. Here we come to more serious factors that determine the success of our students in Montessori schools, or, in their absence, hinder the development of Montessori education, the enrollment of students in our schools. It is very important for parents who give us children to understand the values of the Montessori method and its significance for children, as well as the illusory nature of the accessibility of traditional education. Montessori education, first of all, will give children independence, self-reliance and awareness in their desires and aspirations, stability of interests in cognitive activity, and a positive experience of socialization. Our children will want a lot in the future, and, moreover, they will not be lazy to achieve this, not postponing their achievements “for later”, and not expecting that someone will come and do what they want for them. They will be bright, self-sufficient individuals, active and responsible, at the same time understanding the need to comply with certain rules of the community in which they find themselves.

Unfortunately, the traditional school is completely unable to ensure the formation of an independent, independent and active personality, because it is based on the suppression of personal initiative and interests, the desire of all students to bring to a “common denominator”. Here the skills are developed to “keep a low profile”, “be like everyone else”, to obey and adapt to the authoritarian opinions of the elders, putting aside and forgetting their own desires and aspirations. And meaningful educational motivation is replaced by the desire to “earn” a good mark or the fear of getting a bad one. The level of teaching in the traditional school, with rare exceptions, is now very low and has become downright catastrophically low.

For us, Montessori teachers, it is important for parents to understand what results of personal development should be expected in Montessori students in the first place, and these expectations should be important and valuable for parents. It is also important that they understand that the formation of such personal qualities in children is impossible in a traditional school setting.

4. Parents’ general understanding of the Montessori method and ability to follow the rules for parents of Montessori children.
Insofar as parents understand and share the values of the Montessori method, it is important that they know the basic principles of teaching the child through free work in the environment and adhere to the same approach at home: provide the child with the necessary freedom, trust him, give the child certain powers related to the child himself and the home environment would give up petty guardianship and control. This is now extremely lacking in many Russian families, in which the functions of parental control are downright off the charts, which will ultimately lead to the fact that the new generation of Russians will be even more infantile, passive and irresponsible than the recently released “generation Y”.

It is clear that you rarely see such an understanding of the method on the part of average parents, immersed in their professional and domestic concerns. Therefore, in a Montessori school, it will be quite problematic to attract a contingent of children who have already entered traditional schools, unless there they have some kind of acute conflict with teachers or peers. Therefore, the main contingent of Montessori schools are graduates of efficient Montessori kindergartens (3-6), whose parents have “tried” all the advantages of the system and already know a lot about it.

As leaders of Montessori schools, it is extremely important to understand and know our client, our student population, their differences from the contingent of, for example, a traditional “public” school. Our research and reflection on the current nature of modern education in a traditional school leads to the conclusion that school systems serve the interests of certain large social groups, classes operating in society [more details here: http://amogilev.livejournal.com/53014.html ].

The traditional “state” – it would be more correct to say municipal – the school serves the interests of the bureaucratic class that has won in the country, the bureaucratic class and implements in the preparation of children a model of activity that is characteristic of bureaucracy, bureaucracy: formal work on various written materials without understanding why it is what is needed is an even more formal assessment of what has been done, meticulous implementation of instructions and requirements, obedience, discipline, lack of one’s own initiative, suppression of individual traits and qualities – this is what is characteristic of this system.

In contrast, the Montessori school serves the interests of the creative class, the bourgeoisie, because education is based on independence, autonomy and initiative – the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur. It is no coincidence that there are so many graduates of Montessori schools among successful businessmen in the United States. However, according to other requirements, Montessori education turns out to be accessible and focused mainly on the business community and its needs in training business heirs.

Juicy lips like Angelina Jolie

Star File

Angelina Jolie was born in the family of famous American actor Jon Voight and French-Canadian actress Marcheline Bertrand. Famous actors Maximilian Schell (husband of Natalia Andreichenko) and Jacqueline Bisset became the godparents of the future Hollywood star and UN goodwill ambassador.

After the divorce of their parents, Angelina and her brother James stayed with their mother, who often took the children to the cinema, which aroused her daughter’s interest in acting. In any case, already being famous, it was precisely this that Jolie explained to the press her professional choice. At the same time, she tried to dispel the myth about the significance of her father’s successful career in her fate.

Acting ambitions led 11-year-old Jolie to the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and then to Beverly Hills High School. The non-standard appearance of the actress, which does not leave indifferent her many fans, in her youth was the reason for Jolie’s loneliness. In addition, peers ridiculed her habit of dressing in second-hand clothes and excessive thinness.

And although the actress has two short-lived marriages – with British actor Jonny Lee Miller and actor Billy Bob Thornton, today she is the happy wife of the famous actor Brad Pitt and a caring mother of six children, two of whom are adopted.

Sensual lips like those of Angelina Jolie

It’s no secret that for most of the fair sex, plump lips of actress Angelina Jolie are the benchmark for the most beautiful lips. And although not everyone is naturally given such sensual lips as the famous actress, you should not despair. After all, lips do not have to be voluminous. But definitely well-groomed. One of the little secrets of the actress is the use of balm and special lip creams. Of course, this is a very effective tool. But, as a rule, one of them is not enough.

  • Massage your lips daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush (best suited for children) or cosmetic sponge in circular motions and light patting.
  • Before going out on a sunny day, be sure to use a lip balm with sunscreen.
  • When you get home, remove your lip make-up with a make-up remover.
  • To avoid chapping and premature wrinkles, use balms and special creams. Apply them before going to bed, leaving for 15 minutes. The remains of the balm are removed with a napkin.
  1. Bourjois Lip Clinic night lip balm with mini exfoliating brush – 405 r.
  2. Oriflame Spa Care Multi-Active Lip Balm SPF 8 – 175 р.
  3. Leaf&Rusher Lip Scrub Balm – 1365 r.
  4. Payot lotion for removing waterproof make-up from eyes and lips DEMAQUILLANTES – 890 r.
  5. Delicate milk GREEN MAMA for removing make-up “Chamomile and iris” – 956 rubles.
  6. Lip cream with Menthol ONE TOUCH Lip Treatment C. MENARD – 800 r.

In addition to daily care, lips require a spectacular appearance. Proper application of lipstick is the key to their attractiveness.

  • If you have full lips, then it is unacceptable to use saturated colors of lipstick. To give a sophisticated tenderness to any color, the shine of a light shade is capable.
  • Too thin lips will visually make more voluminous by no means bright colors, but lipstick of light, translucent shades.
