    Intensa’s Barrio Escalante school is located just steps from San Jose Downtown, museums and National Parks. The school’s excellent location allows the student to practice the language in total immersion by visiting local restaurant and stores. This school also offers English language courses for locals so they can dive into the Costa Rican culture. The students can choose from 20 to 30 hours a week in the group sessions or from 4 to 30 hours in the One to One program, tailor made programs can be done upon request. The school facilities include free wifi, gardens with seating areas for the students. The International Students office prepares a group or on demand tours and activities from transportation, accommodation and to entrance tickets and meals.     School teaching style:
    We have developed a comprehensive program that takes into account: our student’s academic needs, Spanish language level and natural learning style, and also involves students in cultural immersion.
    Our classes have a maximum of 3 students per teacher, and semi-private classes have 2 students per class or one to one.
    We offer 4 hours / day of classes (regular program) 6 hours / day of classes (intensive program). or a specialized program according to the needs of each student and class schedule.
    In addition to these programs, we also offer individual programs for families, teenagers and groups, programs for professionals and cultural programs such as our Spanish in Costa Rica Culinary Culture program and online Spanish classes via Skype.
    We are 100% staffed by a Costa Rican school, all of our teachers have years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language and are certified. We have a high percentage of students who return to our programs, or students who come on referrals from former students.
    Cultural Activity:
    We have organized up to three cultural events per week, which may include dance and cooking classes, excursions to the cities of San José and Cartago, visits to museums and other cultural and historical sites.
    Facilities:
    We are located in a beautiful and cozy two-storey house with a tropical garden in a quiet area in Tres Rios. Our environment is calm and friendly. We have 6 classrooms, including a classroom specially designed for children. Tres Rios is a suburb of San José.
    Homestay and other school services:
    Our accommodations are upscale in above average family homes. They include a private room, breakfast, dinner, laundry service and Wi-Fi.
