AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Bedford KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • “I just wanted to let you know how incredibly pleased we are with the Bedford Center. The atmosphere is sunny, warm and inviting which was the first thing I was impressed with when we visited. The staff are consummate professionals, and I’m always impressed at the level of care that is given to my children. The teachers seem to genuinely enjoy the kids and since they’ve been enrolled, the boys call every older female ‘Ms. ‘ which I find super cute. Every teacher has her own special way of communicating and interacting, and I’ve noticed that the boys respond and adapt well to every one of them. The biggest endorsement I can give you is the fact that the boys are always super excited to go to school and they look forward to spending time with all their teachers! It is a huge relief to know they are safe and happy while learning so much about life, other children and themselves. The daily reports are wonderful and it gives us a glimpse into their fun filled day. Thanks so much for taking good care of our boys and we know that this center, you, and your staff were special the minute we walked in.”

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with

children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • As a new mother, I had no idea what to look for in a childcare provider. We had gone through two before we found KinderCare after moving into the area. Looking back, I wish we had gone there all along. KinderCare at Bedford has been extremely welcoming from day one. I am at ease when I drop my children there, knowing they are taken care of with genuine love by their teachers. I also LOVE when I pick up my three-year-old and hear all of the things she learned that day. They over-communicate with parents about any praise and/or concerns they might have, which I feel is very important for any daycare center. When I had my second, I was very comfortable leaving her just at eight weeks old. ..something I didn’t feel with my first and her previous caretaker. Not only are they wonderful with children, but I also consider them family because they express interest and love towards the parents as well. I have no desire to send my children elsewhere and couldn’t be more pleased with this facility!

    Rhonnie B. – KinderCare Parent
  • Overwhelmed – that’s how I felt with all of the options and choices in child care when we moved to the Nashville area. Luckily, a friend of mine had used KinderCare and recommended that I should give it a look. I’m glad we did! The curriculum and programs they use are top-notch. My oldest son is reading far beyond his age and my younger son has learned all of his shapes, colors, letters, numbers, and much more. In addition, they have been exposed to music, art, sports, and other activities as well. I couldn’t be happier! Not only have my boys gotten a great education, but they have also grown emotionally and socially while at KinderCare. I have been impressed with the personal attention given to them by the teachers. On several occasions, changes have been made to better accommodate my kids’ personal needs or learning styles and that kind of attention has been priceless to me. I feel like the teachers truly love their students and love their jobs. This makes a huge impact on how I feel about dropping my kids off every day. I am so thankful that we made the choice to send our kids to KinderCare and thankful that they are getting a wonderful foundation for a lifetime of learning. Thanks KinderCare!

SPECIAL PROJECT: UK CITIES. Bedford – the heaven that never happened

County : Bedfordshire

Population: 157 479 (2011 census)

for National Statistics – April 2015)

House prices

If you rent

The average cost of rent in Bedford, according to statistics from the Valuation Office for April 2018-March 2019, is £775 per month. In London this amount is £1495 per month. Renting a room in Bedford will cost an average of £395, a one-bedroom apartment will cost £595, a two-bedroom apartment will cost £750, and a three-bedroom apartment will cost £900.

If you buy

HM Land Registry April 2019year, the average cost of real estate in the capital is £471,504, and in Bedford it is much lower – £288,257. The average price of an apartment is £163,671, terraced houses – £223,508, houses for two owners (semi-detached house) – £ 285,438 and £469,902 for the mansion. The city is close to Milton Keynes on the way to Cambridge and has a rich cultural history dating back to the 5th century. It is believed that Bedford was named after an unknown Saxon chief named Beda. In the Middle Ages, it was a relatively small trading city and was not of particular importance for the county and the country. Despite the plague and the civil war, by the 19th century the population of the city continued to grow rapidly. At the same time, agriculture and brewing are replacing the wool industry, and they become the main industries of the city.

Today Bedford is one of the most prosperous cities in England with a population of over 150,000. More than 57 different ethnic groups are represented in the city. By the way, Italian immigrants make up about 14 thousand of the total population of Bedford, and this, according to some sources, is the largest Italian community outside of Italy. In addition, there are beautiful parks, good schools, stunning red brick Victorian houses, a waterfront and excellent transport links.

Trains to the capital run with enviable regularity and frequency. There are also plans to restore the railway line between Cambridge and Oxford, which will run through Bedford. In 2018, the Sunday Times named Castle Quarter as the best area to live in the East of England. There is not only a whole bunch of historical sites here, but everything you need for family life: green parks with tennis courts, a football field, playgrounds, an excellent elementary school, several good secondary schools and two selective schools. “Not everyone living in Bedford can afford to live in Castle Quarter,” explains Polina, a Russian-speaking resident of the city, “but by the standards of Bedford, this is an expensive pleasure.”

Its cons

At the same time, Bedford had and still has many problems that cannot simply be brushed aside. It is no secret that the city often comes under fire from the national media as a place far from being the safest and most attractive place to live. For example, just over a decade ago, the Bedford and surrounding area police were ranked the worst in the country. Crime in the city at that time simply flourished: the number of petty crimes and banditry increased. “My husband told me how parents were simply afraid to let their children go out alone,” says Polina, “the city lived its own terrible life.” Today, thanks to the change of the chief of police and the mayor, the city has regained its former calm. Although even now Bedford sometimes gets on the front pages of local newspapers with stories about gang wars.

Yet

Bedford has potential. According to Gladfish, a real estate company, the city topped the list of the best cities to invest near the capital. In 2018, Aldi and B&M announced their intention to open their logistics centers here, which will lead to job growth.

But above all, Bedford is a cheap and convenient city for those who work in London: it takes about 40 minutes to get to the capital by train. Residents are also proud that there is a genuine spirit of solidarity and neighborhood. “There are no insiders and outsiders here,” explains Polina, “the city has even become an example in terms of integrating national minorities!” And these happy Bedforders are not bored at all. The city has a market, a good shopping center and museums. It also hosts the free Bedford River Street Festival, second in scope only to the capital’s carnival in Notting Hill.

As for the economy of Bedfordshire, it is one of the strongest in the country. According to local government data, at the beginning of 2018, the unemployment rate was 2.9%, which is lower than the national average. The largest employers in the region are Unilever, Asda, Argos, Capita Children’s Services and 3M. “In terms of work, everything is fine here,” Polina assures, “that is probably why there are so many immigrants here.”

Paradise Failed

Have you ever heard the story of Mabel Barltrop? Mabel was the widow of an Anglican priest and had a non-standard idea of the Kingdom of Heaven, which she wrote about in a letter to her friend at the beginning of the 20th century. In the letter, she said that truly religious people should settle in the best houses in Bedford, which, in turn, is “the most beautiful place.” A few years later, Mabel, already known as Octavia, proclaimed herself the “Daughter of God.” But that’s not all! She managed to convince a group of adherents that the section of the city they “captured” is nothing but the exact location of the future Garden of Eden. The group of followers, by the way, was called the Panacea Society (Panacea Society). Now their task was to prepare for the second coming of Christ and “call” 144,000 people for eternal life on Earth. All this is a stone’s throw from a huge shopping center. However, Mabel never waited for the dawn of a new era – she died at 1934 year. You can learn more about the history of the strange sect by visiting the “Garden of Eden” itself, where the museum is now located.
