Quick ACS facts

  • Incorporated in 1974
  • Licensed by MA Dept of Early Education & Care.

Parents are Always Welcome at ACS.

Parents being involved at their child’s home-away- from-home improves communication between home and school.

The Ayer Community School’s primary goal is to provide a warm, homey atmosphere in which a child will find her/his first school experience enjoyable and rewarding.  The program provides an environment rich in real and vicarious experiences where creativity and discovery flourish and where maximum developmental growth occurs socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.

Opportunities are presented which encourage children to make decisions and to take responsibilities.  Such experiences likewise promote individual independence, self-reliance, cooperation, and respect and concern for others.

The staff at ACS believes that children learn most effectively through hands-on play and activities.  Each child is a unique individual with her/his own needs, interests, ideas, and level of ability.  ACS’s highly experienced and caring staff  guide children through a structured yet flexible program with a strong focus on active learning, respect, safety, and FUN!

Diversity exists in our student population, in our staff, and in the communities ACS serves.  ACS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.   It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs.

“I loved the communication between parents
and teachers, the educational experience my child received, the way the “stations” changed in the big room to keep the school experiences new and the live nature you brought to the classroom.”

“First impressions are lasting impressions! When we first sent our daughter to ACS, what drew us to the program was the cleanliness of the facilities, its solid reputation, caring staff, and sense of community. Two years later we still feel the exact same way.” – Julie S
