Pilgrimage to Bethlehem: organ, duduk, percussion
Festival “New Year in the Cathedral!”

Antonio Gramsci — bouzouki, crumhorn, percussion 90 013 Tarquinius Gramsci — darbuka
titular organist of the Pontifical Basilica of St. Michael in Madrid
Daniel Salvador – organ (Spain)
Pilgrimage to Bethlehem is more than just a concert. On the eve of Orthodox Christmas, musicians invite you to make an amazing journey through space and time. In this program, as in an ancient city in the Holy Land, the music of East and West, past and present, author’s and anonymous compositions are mixed.
Spanish organist Daniel Salvador, multi-instrumentalist, singer Vasily Korostelev, as well as Antonio and Tarquinius Gramsci came up with a unique performance. The musicians enthusiastically study the little-known pages of musical history: Daniel – early music, Vasily, Antonio and Tarquinius – non-European cultures.
Bethlehem is a holy city for the three largest religions of the world, where the shrines of Judaism, Christianity and Islam are located. He has always attracted believers. They went there with repentance in search of God’s mercy and came with a sword to take possession of sacred relics. Authorities and peoples succeeded each other, different languages and cultures mixed up on a small patch of land. Today, pilgrims of all three faiths tend to Bethlehem to feel its unusual spirit and see with their own eyes the shrines revered for centuries.
The atmosphere of this amazing city will come to life at a concert in the music of different peoples and countries with the help of an organ, ethnic wind and percussion instruments. This is a rare opportunity to hear the melodies of medieval Byzantium, the ancient melodies of Armenia and Egypt. The ancient organ music of England, Spain and France is here side by side with the ancient Russian Znamenny singing, and the Aramaic Christmas hymn with the English carol genre and the organ mass of César Franck, the French romantic of the 19th century.
And this day marks exactly five years of creative cooperation between the Collegium Musicum Foundation and the Spanish organist Daniel Salvador. On January 6, 2017, he performed for the first time at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul – also in a duet with Vasily Korostelev. For five years, several unique programs were born in their tandem, and Daniel became one of the regular participants in the Collegium Musicum concerts. It is symbolic that Salvador’s author’s composition will end the pre-Christmas evening.
Program:

“Svoyasi”: An amazing family-musical-master ensemble receives guests in Slantsy

Online47 introduces readers to what miracles these people are capable of
An amazing musical and master ensemble – the Svoyasi family club welcomes guests in Slantsy. A close-knit, multi-age family rich in talents. They even dance amulets. Online47 introduces readers to what miracles these people are capable of.
Dolls and songs
What they just do: they knit, and make amazing dolls, and sing songs to those who cross the threshold, songs so attractive that you can’t drive guests away with a broom.
In their warm house there are also old samovars – herbal teas, and a gramophone, and a record with “Rio Rita”, and homespun carpets. And also – baskets, old suitcases, looms, and a lot of other interesting stuff.
87-year-old Tamara Ivanovna Ponizova, a talented weaver and singer, did a lot for the team.
“If you love a Russian song and are interested in Russian traditions, if you want to learn how to make souvenirs from birch bark (and not only), if you are ready to travel around festivals and holidays, if your friendly family lacks an emotional outburst, if you have nowhere to realize your creativity, if you just want to communicate with us, then you are welcome to us! Singles welcome too! All you need is your desire! Write, come.
We live in the PKiO of the city of Slantsy, Leningrad Region, ”they report on their VK page.

Home and family
“Friends”, as the owners of this warm house say, can be translated as “home, family”. That is, it is directly about them. And the main direction of their creative life is the skillful use of elements of folklore and crafts to preserve the traditions of the past – Russian folk games, songs, customs and rituals.
Local residents bring exhibits here – they give the Svoyasi team a variety of things with history. And they also accept gifts: just now, for example, relatives sent a collection of dolls from the Far East, which the craftswoman of all trades and an excellent singer Lyudmila Dmitrievna Bezyazykova told about with pleasure.
There is a whole geography in her destiny. She comes from the Voronezh region. Together with her family, she moved to Saratov, then to the Far East, and then across the country to the village of Yasnoye, Kaliningrad Region. At 19In 92, the leaders and the Bezyazykov clan – 16 people moved to the village of Novoselye, Slantsy district, and at the same time the team became the winner of the regional competition of family creativity.
And since February 2011, the family club of Russian traditional culture “Svoyasi” has been living in the Park of Culture and Leisure in the city of Slantsy.
“Folklore is the main thing in life,” says Lyudmila Dmitrievna. And we try to pass this affection on to our children. Let them learn something new, and give us inspiration.
