“Kids ‘R’ Kids is everything I could ask for in a daycare and preschool. My children have been cared for at this daycare since they were 12 weeks old. Living away from extended family means we have to rely heavily on our daycare, as my husband and I both work full time. We can check on the kiddos via phone or live feed video throughout the day. Not only do they provide loving care for our children, they also provide excellent opportunities for Soccer Shots, dance, and gymnastics… Kids ‘R’ Kids had been nothing short of a blessing for our family.”

children’s competitions at home and at school

When a child turns seven years old, parents have to reconsider their experience of holding home holidays. After all, their son or daughter is no longer a baby, but a person who has realized himself as a person. It is necessary to approach him in this way: with the recognition of his right to his own opinion, taking into account the complex processes that change his inner world.

A bright, memorable children’s holiday can’t be spent now without a good organization. Children 6-8 years old will get bored if there are no interesting games and exciting competitions with their own participation.

When designing your program, make sure that it is not only fun, but also useful. After all, the company of children under strict adult guidance is a great opportunity to show their abilities, practice various activities, and learn how to build relationships with their peers.

What radically new thing is happening to a seven-year-old man, what should you pay attention to when preparing contests? Here are the main important points.

  1. Rapid physical development . At this age, the strength of the competition, requiring greater endurance and stress.
  2. Active socialization . Children of primary school age really like to feel part of the team.
  3. A sense of personal responsibility . A child can be entrusted with his own site, where he acts independently.
  4. The appearance of the best friend . Children begin to value friendship and trust friends sometimes more than their parents.

Walk Under the Bridge Contest

A very simple contest game that is a good start to an entertainment program. Adults hold the bar at the two ends, the children take turns passing under it. At each stage, the level decreases, so that first the tallest of the children passes “under the bridge” to his full height, then he has to bend down and finally crawl. The one who lasts the longest wins.

“Guess” contest

This contest is actually a variant of the well-known adult “crocodile”, or charade game. One participant must show this or that creature, the rest must guess it. It is difficult for children 7-8 years old to represent abstract concepts, so the conditions of the competition can be limited, for example, by asking only animals, heroes of fairy tales or cartoons. If none of the guests has participated in such a game before, tell me that the most convenient thing is to imitate not appearance, but actions: how a bear walks, a cat washes, a chicken pecks, etc.

Scenario of the competition:

  1. Prepare picture cards in advance: take ready-made ones from children’s lotto sets, draw or stick on cutouts from magazines.
  2. Put them in a box.
  3. The first “actor” chooses a card at random and tries to portray his character without words so that others can guess him.
  4. The guesser takes his place.

To start with, it is better to prepare cards with pictures than with written animal names. The picture will tell the children which features of the appearance can be played on.

For experienced players, you can remove restrictions on the conditions and set any objects or phenomena.

Balloon Fight

This is a sports team game that is best played in the yard, on the playground or in a clearing in the park.

You will need:

  • Prepare the music:
notebook with recordings of funny songs
  • music center
  • or simply radio

Scenario of the competition:

  1. Divide the site into two equal parts (for example, by pulling a rope or net), and divide the guests into teams. Give each team five inflated balloons.
  2. The task is to transfer them to the opponent’s territory. At the same time, you have to beat off the balls coming from the other side.
  3. Each round lasts as long as the song plays. Musical accompaniment is very enlivens the game and uplifting. The one with the fewest balls on their side wins.
  4. Agree on the number of rounds in advance: it must be odd.

“Collect the word” competition

Excellent intellectual game for first graders. It gives you the opportunity to test your knowledge of letters and vocabulary, train your memory and powers of observation.

Prepare some letter envelopes in advance. The set should include letters of one long word known to children (January, canteen, computer, dinosaur).

The competition can be both team and individual. Each participant or team is given an envelope with letters. The task is to collect a word from them. The one who does it correctly and fastest wins.

“Create a picture” contest

Another “at the table” contest. Allows you to take a break from outdoor games, develops spatial thinking and the ability to foresee the result of your actions.

Prepare some colorful pictures (this can be postcards with flowers, illustrations for fairy tales, landscape drawings) and cut them into many curly pieces. Distribute them to teams or individual players. The task is to collect the whole picture from these fragments.

Jelly Eater Contest

This is a fun contest that can be used as a snack when the party is in full swing and the kids are a bit hungry.

Another convenient place in the program is when the guests moved on to dessert.

The competition requires glasses or shallow cups of fruit jelly according to the number of participants.

Each of them gets their own portion of jelly and an ice cream stick. The task is to eat it without additional appliances. The winner receives a prize, and the rest of the participants receive spoons to finish their jelly.

Competition “Surprise Chest”

This game also has an element of competition, but the main thing in it is the ability to please every guest. Even if the child has not won in any other competition, here he will receive his prize.

You will need:

  • Box for future chest.
  • Give it a beautiful look: cover with colored paper, decorate with drawings or appliqué.
  • Make a hole in the top for a child’s hand.

Place the gifts according to the number of guests plus one in the box. Pick them according to the age of the children: it can be a toy, jewelry for girls, a notebook, a pen, a set of pencils or felt-tip pens, a key chain, a candy, an apple or an orange.

Scenario of the competition:

  1. In turn, each child puts his hand into the chest and describes the object that he has come across.
  2. After that, he takes out his surprise.
  3. If described correctly, he keeps it as a prize.

Quests

Children of 7-8 years old are already ready for long multi-stage competitions, if the conditions are simple and clear. Therefore, for them, you can prepare a simple quest of three or four moves.

Divide the guests into teams. Each of them should be supervised by an adult: he does not help complete the tasks, but checks whether the guys understood their conditions.

At each stage, the team receives a note describing the task. After completing it, the participants will find out where the next note-instruction is located. The latter must indicate the place where the prize is located. Of course, it should be collective: for example, a cake that the winning team will share with the losing team.

Competition Tips

  1. Prepare both individual and team competitions.
  2. When forming teams, consider the wishes of the children. But try to keep them roughly equal in strength. If there are younger children among the guests, distribute them evenly among the teams.
  3. Alternate different types of competitions. After active competition, you need to conduct an intellectual game – and vice versa.
  4. Make sure every child wins and receives a prize at least once. Everyone should feel strong, beautiful and smart.

Children’s birthday contests for 7 years at home 2022

The older the child becomes, the more desperately parents puzzle over what to give him for his birthday, how to celebrate this holiday, what program to choose and where to spend. We made a selection of ideas to help dads and moms of seven-year-olds.

Photo: pressmaster, depositphotos

Every adult wants to please children, to do something unusual, to surprise them with something. It is seven years old… What demands do modern children make to their parents at this age? What does a real holiday mean to them?

If you are about to celebrate your birthday at home with a large number of guests, our tips and ideas are for you.

Repertoire

Before you start selecting games and contests for children 7 years old for their birthday at home, decide what the repertoire will be: directed in one key (only contests, only experiments, etc.) , or containing a variety of items (competitions are interspersed with games, experiments, drawings, etc.).

Here are some numbers that your seven-year-olds will surely like.

Birthday experiments for children

Older preschoolers and younger students will like and remember interesting experiments for a long time. Here is some of them.

Birthday letter

Prepare your letter in advance as follows. Dip a cotton swab in milk and write a message for the hero of the occasion on a white sheet of paper. Dry the letter. Show the children a white sheet and say that the birthday person needs to read it. Let the guys themselves give ideas on how to develop the text. Then take a burning candle and slide the flame over the paper in the place where the message is written. The letters will gradually appear and the children will be able to read the text.

Inflator bottle

Place 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a half liter plastic bottle. Take a balloon and vinegar. Pour 50-100 ml of vinegar into a bottle and quickly put a ball on the neck. Hold the ball at the base and shake the bottle – from the interaction of soda and vinegar, it will gradually inflate.

Eruption

Make a “volcano” from plasticine that is hollow inside. Inside, put a bottle with a narrow neck, with soda and a piece of orange paint (gouache, food, etc.). Press the hole on top of the “volcano” to the opening of the container so that the outgoing “lava” flows out. Pour vinegar into the upper hole (in bottles) and wait for the “eruption” to begin.

Birthday pranks for children

The essence of pranks is to amuse the audience. Children love to laugh! For practical jokes, choose non-offensive children who understand humor.

Match

A volunteer is called, he is given the task to throw off, with the help of facial expressions, without moving his head and without using his hands, two matches stuck on his forehead. In fact, one match sticks, and the second is imperceptibly removed, about which the audience should be warned in advance. The first match falls, the player is offered to use facial expressions more actively in order to throw off the second one supposedly hanging on his forehead. At this time, the audience plays along: they suggest which face it is better to make a face so that the match disappears. Then the player is offered a mirror to make it easier to remove the match. He looks down at himself and realizes he’s been played.

Ball

Two volunteers are needed for the draw. Children sit opposite each other at the table. A ball is placed in the middle and the task is explained: the players must blindfold the ball to the opponent’s side. The children are blindfolded and the ball is silently removed, and instead of it they put a plate of flour. On “one, two, three,” the players begin to blow with all their might. Spectators cheer friends, cheer for the players. When they untie their eyes to show who won, they see that everything around is white! Flour can be substituted for confetti.

Birthday tricks for kids

You can show magic tricks to children and teach them to do the same at the same time. This will be a fun time for a noisy company.

Orange or apple?

Carefully remove the peel from the orange so that it can be placed on the table and looks like a whole orange. Then take a smaller apple and hide it in the peel. Show the children a supposedly whole orange, cover it with a “magic” handkerchief, then remove the handkerchief, discreetly peeling off the peel of the orange, and show the surprised viewers that your orange has turned into an apple.

Empty vase

The magician must wear long sleeves, in one of the sleeves hide a rubber bulb with water. Show the children an empty vase, let them make sure that there is no water in it. Then the magician puts his hand into the vase, pressing the pear of water against the wall, and to the surprise of everyone, splashes out the water.

Birthday games for children 7 years old

Games for children of 7 years old can be organized both mobile and logical. You can print out various puzzles, crosswords, scanwords and give them to the kids. So, examples of games for children 7 years old for a birthday at home.

Pictures

Parents should prepare in advance cards with animals, birds, etc. written on them to be depicted. During the game, one person comes out, draws a card, reads (possibly with the help of an adult) and draws the word written on it. The audience must guess what was written on the card. The one who guesses the word changes with the leader.

Ring

All children sit with their hands folded. The leader with a ring in his folded hands approaches everyone, as if putting a ring in each of his closed palms. In fact, he imperceptibly puts a ring in someone alone and says: “Ring, ring, go out on the porch!” Those sitting nearby (to the left and right of this player) must orient themselves in time and detain him. If the child managed to jump up, he becomes the leader.

Who is he?

Think of one person among the players and tell the moderator about him. Then the leader comes out, he is blindfolded. When he enters, all the players have already mixed up. The facilitator must guess the hidden person by the hand or by the head.

Birthday contests for children 7 years old

Children’s birthday contests for 7 years old at home are the easiest and most interesting for children, because not only the birthday person, but also the guests receive gifts.

Prizes are best chosen a few weeks before the birthday. For example, when you visit supermarkets, shopping centers, sales. So that you don’t have to buy in a hurry just before your birthday “what was in the store” and not spend a lot of money. So, what contests for a children’s birthday of 7 years old can be organized at home on your own.

Picture

Find some pictures, such as famous cartoon characters, animals or objects. It’s good if all the drawings are from the “one opera”, so that it is easier for children to guess. Cover the picture with a thick sheet of cardboard or a book and slowly begin to open it in small parts. The first person to guess what is shown in the picture wins a prize.

Racers

Tie two strings of the same length on one side to two toy cars and on the other to pencils. On the count of “one, two, three,” the players must wind the thread around the pencil as quickly as possible. The winner is a prize.

Riddles

Make a selection of children’s riddles. Mark the names of those who guessed correctly on the list. The one who guessed the most riddles wins a prize.

Chain

Take several packs of paper clips and lay them out in a pile in front of the children. At the leader’s command, everyone begins to build a chain. After a few minutes, the leader shouts: “Stop” and the winner is determined – the one whose chain is the longest.

“Magic Words”

You should be prepared for the fact that among your birthday’s friends there will be children with different characters. Someone, perhaps, will try to disrupt your program, someone will make noise and indulge, and someone will be offended with or without reason. There is no time at the holiday to teach children and instruct them. Therefore, you need to stock up on some “magic words” so as not to waste a lot of time on bullies.

When you feel that the situation is getting out of hand, stop the program and call on everyone to listen carefully. When the children are quiet, explain your rules to them in a persuasive tone. Everything will depend on what is happening, what is the problem and which of the children creates it.

Strictly say that a new law will come into force at the festival: “Whoever behaves in such and such a way gets a penalty point. For three penalty points, a person leaves the game (leaves to play in another room, etc.), and if illegal actions continue, the host calls the parents, and the violator is taken home.

At the age of seven, children already perfectly understand cause and effect relationships, so your strict tone and the gloomy prospect of being left without a holiday will certainly “bring them to their senses.”

Important little things

When preparing a celebration for a child, pay attention to some of the nuances that play an important role in the child’s perception of the holiday.

  • Take care not only of decorating the room for the celebration, but also of the original table setting. For seven-year-old children, the taste of the dishes on the table is not as important as their appearance.
