Blogs provide a great platform for discovery and self-expression among persons of all ages, kids included. Blogs offer a powerful means of socializing and they are also lots of fun. WordPress and Blogger

These are the two best known general purpose blogging sites. They both focus on long-form written content. They both have simplistic design, intuitive user interfaces, and straight forward default layouts. These are some of the reasons why they are such great platforms to make a blog for kids. WordPress is highly customizable and has a very active user support community. Blogger is owned by Google and is very simple to set up especially if you already have a Google account.

LiveJournal

This is one of the original blogging websites. It also encourages use of long-form written content. It however also allows embedding of media meaning that kids can link favorite music and videos. LiveJournal provides many customization options and uses tagging to allow for easy organization of posts. It is free to use but also offers a premium version that features no advertisements and has several additional features.

Tumblr

Tumblr is a social networking website in addition to being a blogging service. Half of the polled parents don’t like their kids watching vlogs

We asked Chips Journal readers what bloggers their kids watch. Today, on International Blogger Day, we publish the answers.

Leader – Belarusian video blogger Vlad Bumaga with his A4 channel. He has over 40 million subscribers on YouTube. Vlad is one of the most popular video bloggers in the Russian-language segment of video hosting.

“On the channel you can find an interesting guy who will always tell you something interesting, make you laugh and just cheer you up. Subscribe and become PAPER!” – read in the channel description.

The blogger is watched by people of all ages: A4 is followed by the children of CJ readers aged six to 14, as well as their parents.

I approve, the blogger speaks the right language, without obscenities, etc. He teaches a lot, we often watch together.

Three and a half daughters, about a year ago, her husband turned on Kapuki Kapuki (forget it). Now she is ready to watch these damned “mammy-daddy” (daughter calls this blog) even around the clock. The problem is that the presenter annoys me terribly. I don’t like everything about her!

I tried to include other children’s blogs for my daughter, but she wants to watch Kanuki Kapuki. I try to turn them on very rarely, I switch her attention to something else, games, drawing, etc. But sometimes she asks a lot, I turn it on, but I say that you can’t watch more than one episode, otherwise your head will hurt. As long as he believes.

At least once a week – 14 percent, several times a month – five percent. The fact that their children do not watch video blogs was reported by 38 percent of parents of minors.

Half of the parents whose children watch vlogs are negative about it (53 percent), 33 percent are positive, every tenth parent is indifferent (11 percent).
