FAQs on the Camp Experience:

What is Day Camp? What should my child expect?

At the YMCA of Metro Denver, we believe that every amazing camp experience starts with each child knowing they belong here. Our camps help kids develop as leaders while taking part in unique learning experiences, innovative activities and experience the perfect combination of play and learning.

Can I drop off or pick up my child late?

Late Drop Offs:

Every day of camp we begin with an Opening Ceremony at 9 AM which begins our day with purpose and meaning. Please review our camp schedules and ensure your child gets to camp on-time for Opening Ceremony.

Families may choose to drop their child off late, but the parent is responsible for transporting them to the exact location where they are supposed to be at that time.

On field trip days, families are responsible for dropping their child off well before their scheduled departure. If you plan to drop your child off later in the day, please call and email the camp director to let them know, giving them enough time to plan. Accommodations will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Late Pick Ups:

Children are supervised at the YMCA Child Care Site until 5 PM. A late fee of $1 per minute/per child will be charged after 5:05 pm. As a courtesy, please make sure to call and/or email our camp director to let them know that you will be late to pick up!

What are your COVID-19 guidelines?

We follow the current state and county guidelines, with more information to come as it is released.

What is the Staff to camper ratios?

The YMCA follows CDHS guidelines for the State of Colorado. The YMCA has a 1:15 ratio for school age childcare and camp. A 1:10 ratio is in effect during swim days and outings.

How do we get our camp shirts?

Camp shirts will be provided to all Summer Day campers in late May. Camp shirts must be worn on all field trips and labeled with your child’s name.

What should campers bring EVERY DAY?

Please bring:

  • a cold lunch
  • two snacks
  • a water bottle
  • closed-toed shoes
  • swimming gear (on water days).

YMCA will provide Rocky Mountain Sunscreen SPF 50 for every child. However, if your child requires a particular sunscreen, each family must provide it for their child and give it to our staff on the first day of camp.

PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL ITEMS.

Please do not allow your child to bring anything that can be lost, broken or misplaced, the YMCA is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced items.

How do I change my registration?

All changes to your registrations (weeks registered, location, cancellations etc.) must be emailed to our Solution Center two weeks prior to the start of your child’s specific camp date. Please note deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Do you accept CCCAP?

***Prior to registering for camp, CCCAP families should contact their CCCAP caseworker by the 3rd week of April to get authorized for Camp 2022.  CCCAP does not authorize care until 45-60 days from the start of the program. CCCAP spots are limited. You will not be able to register for camp until we receive CCCAP Authorization for the correct location. Without authorization you will be responsible for the full cost of camp. ***

What is CCCAP?

The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program is a government funded program that provides financial assistance with child care costs to eligible, low-income families.

How do I get CCCAP?

Families apply through the human services department in the County where they reside.

How does CCCAP operate at the Y?

It is important to note that we offer a limited number of CCCAP spots in our Summer Camp programs.

Our CCCAP Interest List for the summer opens at the beginning of April, to get more info please complete this form.

Both lists operate on a first-come, first-served basis, where families may request to be added to the list for one of our CCCAP-eligible sites and start the registration process.

Do CCCAP families register their children online?

CCCAP families do not register online! Please contact us to inquire about our CCCAP availability. If and when you are offered an official spot, we will initiate the registration process with you that is unique to CCCAP families.

What is the difference between CCCAP and the Y’s Financial Assistance Scholarship?

CCCAP is a social service that offers financial assistance to families in the form of government subsidies paid directly to a child’s child care provider. The Y offers financial assistance to families using funds we have raised through the generosity of our donors. CCCAP and the Y’s scholarship may not be used simultaneously.

To use CCCAP benefits for the YMCA Day Camp program, please call 720 524- 2700 or email [email protected] to inquire about available slots. Not all program locations are CCCAP eligible and we have limited slots that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not register online as you will be charged full-price and end up accountable for the balance!

What is ePact?

YMCA PARTNERS WITH ePACT

As a licensed child care provider, the State of Colorado requires the YMCA to collect extensive health and emergency information on each camper. As a result, the YMCA partners with a third-party, ePACT, to secure digital, confidential and HIPPA-compliant information about your child.

ePACT collects this information from you through their online portal which streamlines the process. Submitting this information is mandatory and must be completed to attend camp.

So what is ePACT? ePACT is an online network, where you can securely add, manage and share your child’s key health and emergency contact details with us. Learn more about ePACT here.

Why are we using ePACT?

  • Saves you time: You only need to input your information once into ePACT. Next time, you’ll only need to review the information, taking less than a minute!
  • Improved privacy and security: Paper forms can be lost or misplaced. ePACT’s privacy and security measures exceed those of online banks and they are HIPPA compliant.
  • Peace of mind: ePACT makes it easy for you to share health and emergency contact details, so we can provide the best support for your child. Plus, you can update this anytime and we will automatically receive those new details.

Can my child still attend if I did not fill out ePACT? Your child CANNOT attend the YMCA before and after school program or summer camp without the online paperwork and attachments completed and submitted through ePACT. If you come to drop off on the first day of school with incomplete paperwork, your child will not be able to stay, and your spot will be forfeited, with no refund or credit, since your space had been secured.

Children’s camps in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the summer of 2022 is the best option for a vacation. Fresh air, nature, lots of different activities and entertainment, new friends and good company!

The Nizhny Novgorod region is rightly called the “pearl of the Volga region”: the charm of two great rivers – the Volga and the Oka, unforgettable Volga sunsets and sunrises, ancient cities, spiritual shrines (Holy Trinity Seraphim Diveevsky Monastery), memorable places (the famous Boldino)!

The peculiarities of the climate of the Nizhny Novgorod region provide quite warm weather in summer, so there are all the opportunities for recreation and health improvement of children in local children’s camps.

The peculiarities of the climate of the Nizhny Novgorod region provide rather warm weather in summer, so there are all opportunities for recreation and health improvement of children in local children’s camps. The presence of two rivers – the Volga and the Oka – allows children to swim from the end of June to mid-August, because many camps in the Nizhny Novgorod region have their own equipped beaches.

In total, there are more than 60 children’s out-of-town health camps in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Most of them are only open during the summer months.

In terms of material and technical equipment, the camps differ greatly from each other – from typically “Soviet” camps with wooden buildings and outdoor facilities to modern comfortable children’s complexes.

In addition to the camps, children’s sanatoriums, Gorodets, Solnechnaya Polyana, and Bolshaya Yelnya also operate in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Children’s sanatoriums work year-round and in addition to medical and wellness procedures, children are educated here according to the school curriculum.

Summer psychological training camp! As before, we paid special attention to the location where our little friends will rest and grow up. This year it will be unusually cozy, environmentally friendly, quiet and safe. One of the great advantages is that children will fall asleep to the enchanting meditative music of the surf, and wake up to the light morning breeze, because it is only 30 meters from the shore.
Otherwise, everything is the same as before – the professionalism of the counselors-psychologists, a busy camp life, psychological workshops to develop self-control, self-confidence and leadership qualities, and just creativity and curiosity. And of course, there are many games, fresh sea air, a private beach and rich, varied food in a clean and comfortable cottage.
