Frequently asked questions:

CAN I CUSTOMIZE GROW TO FIT MY CONTEXT?

Absolutely! That’s kind of our #1 goal, actually. We want Grow Children’s Ministry Curriculum to work for you, no matter your size, your format, or your calendar. To make it super flexible for you, we . . .

  • Give you editable files in Photoshop and Microsoft Word.
  • Leave space for your logo on any resources you’ll give to students, parents, or volunteers.
  • Provide an entire year of content up-front so you have plenty of time to plan ahead, see what’s coming, and switch up our suggested calendar to fit your needs.

HOW IS GROW DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CHILDREN’S MINISTRY CURRICULUMS?

Well, for starters, Grow isn’t just a curriculum. It’s actually a strategy for your entire ministry. The large group and small group conversations are just one part of that strategy. With Grow, you’ll get a complete annual TEACHING strategy, but you’ll also get a whole year’s worth of resources for DISCIPLESHIP, PROGRAMMING, EVENTS, VOLUNTEERS, and FAMILIES.

But if you want a little more information on how Grow compares to other resources, check out the samples we’ve provided by clicking here!

WILL GROW ACTUALLY WORK IN MY CONTEXT?

We sure think so, and we are working hard to make sure it will! That’s why we’ve assembled an incredibly diverse team of writers and contributors to help us create a resource that is truly flexible enough to work in your context . . . and that actually represents the full Body of Christ. Our team is filled with real church leaders doing real ministry in a variety of contexts. Rural, urban, and suburban churches. Small churches, medium-sized churches, and big churches. They represent a variety of denominations, cultures, and ministry styles. Thanks to their help and feedback (and yours!) we think Grow really is flexible enough to fit in your context.

HOW DO SUBSCRIPTIONS & RENEWALS WORK?

When you purchase a subscription to Grow Curriculum, you are purchasing 12 months of Teaching and Resources and we recommend using it for the full 12 months no matter when you start. It doesn’t matter what month you start using Grow, it’s meant to be flexible and fit your calendar no matter if you start in the Fall when school starts, January when the new year starts, or any other time of the year. Your purchase date becomes your renewal date, which means every year (if you choose to continue to use Grow) on the date you first purchased Grow, you will be charged for the next volume of Grow, and you will be given access to the next volume of Grow which includes another 12 months of all new content and resources.

DO I AUTOMATICALLY GET ACCESS TO THE NEW VOLUME WHEN IT RELEASES ON MAY 16th EVERY YEAR?

Although we release all of the new content for the next volume of Grow Curriculum every year on May 16th, you will get access to the new volume on your renewal date (see FAQ above about renewals). A lot of churches decide to move their renewal date up to May 16th (or sometime earlier than the date they originally purchased) and we can accommodate that for you. When you purchase Grow, we give you a full 12 months of teaching and resources and no matter when you bought that volume, we recommend using it for the full 12 months it provides. But of course if you want access early to the next volume to plan ahead or just have extra teaching and resources to choose from, we can help move your renewal date forward so you can get access early.

WHAT IS YOUR STATEMENT OF FAITH?

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, authoritative and reliable in its ability to help us grow.
We believe in the Holy Trinity, who works together to make all things new.
We believe in Jesus’ deity, virgin birth, sinless life, death on the cross, resurrection, ascension to heaven, and in his return.
We believe the opportunity to experience forgiveness of sins and eternal life are made available to everyone through Jesus.
We believe the life and ministry of Jesus is the greatest example of love on earth and is to be our pattern as we learn to love God and our neighbours.

Why choose GO! Children’s Ministry Curriculum?

Churches have more choices than ever before when choosing a curriculum for their kids ministry. There are traditional Christian publishers, free lesson plans, and instant download materials.

GO! children’s ministry curriculum starts with GOD. He is the ultimate storyteller and the Bible has the greatest story ever told. As ministry leaders, our joy is helping kids discover that story and experience the love of Jesus Christ.

We want every lesson plan to be a life-changing experience for kids. Since children are active by God’s design, we make active learning a core part of our curriculum. Since kids are social by God’s design, we make relationship a key element in every lesson.

In education, a curriculum is broadly defined as the totality of student experiences that occur in the educational process. The term often refers specifically to a planned sequence of instruction, or to a view of the student’s experiences in terms of the educator’s or school’s instructional goals. (source “Curriculum” on Wikipedia )

We couldn’t agree more! That’s why our children’s ministry curriculum is focused on the whole experience of the child. Our chronological approach gets them into every major story and division in the Bible.

Curriculum

The most important thing in school is how well children acquire knowledge. The curriculum includes all carefully designed activities for children so that their learning takes place as efficiently as possible. The curriculum covers much more than can be written, from the behavioral expectations we have for kids, to how change happens, how relationships are built and maintained, to how our circles and clubs are organized and run.

Curriculum documentation contains the basis for building the entire educational process. It helps to provide a balanced and rich curriculum.

The main language of communication at the school is English. Reading, writing and speaking are taught in accordance with the learning objectives defined by the England and Wales Literacy Programme. A variety of materials for both students and teachers are used in the classroom as additional aids in language teaching.

Mathematics curriculum is designed in accordance with the UK Mathematics Teaching Standards. It clearly defines the level of knowledge, skills and concepts that students should have at each stage of learning.

The International Primary School Curriculum is also used for all other subjects. Designed for elementary age students, this curriculum brings together the best school curricula from around the world.

There are four ways to achieve the Early Years learning goals for students aged 7, 9 and 12. These include “learning goals”, “personal goals” and “international goals”. Subject objectives: history, geography, arts, information technology, music, physical education, science, technology, personal development and development as members of the international community. Each subject has well-defined learning objectives that define what children should know, be able to do and understand by the end of each grade.

The International Primary School Curriculum is taught in a thematic manner, with subjects organized into modules. Each module has a title and contains a certain number of activities designed specifically for children. Each module has clearly defined learning objectives for each subject.

This curriculum introduces students to a variety of new concepts, concepts, and skills. It is also vital as it offers a comprehensive general education and, where possible, relates to your child’s real life experience. This curriculum is unique in that it contains clearly defined learning objectives for both international and personal development.

Each class has students of different skill levels. The needs of each are taken into account by selecting the level of the proposed work for the group and for each student individually. Thanks to this differentiation, all children have the opportunity to develop at their own level.

In addition to the main curriculum, children also learn Russian.

Information technology and Internet access under the supervision of teachers is an important part of the educational process in our school. Students use computers as an aid in the process of studying various subjects, and in particular in assignments for the international curriculum, which requires research and access to information from various sources.

What is the difference between adapted programs for children with mental retardation Options 7.1 and 7.2

What is the difference between adapted programs for children with mental retardation Options 7.1 and 7.2

Inclusive education in schools is becoming increasingly common. Depending on the problems that the child is experiencing, the PMPK determines an individual learning option for each child. How are the training options different from each other? What does the coding in the PMPK recommendations mean for a student with disabilities? Such questions are often faced by parents of children with disabilities and teachers who teach special children.

If a child has developmental features confirmed by PMPK, qualifying as HIA, then such a child is recommended to study in an educational program that takes into account his difficulties, “adapted” to the presence of special educational needs. Such an adapted basic general education program will be further referred to as AOOP of a certain type, the definition of which is based on the clinical nature of the child’s disorders.

It should be noted that both options are taught in a general education school.

Option 1 assumes that the student receives an education that is fully consistent with the final achievements by the time of completion of training, the education of peers, being in their environment and in the same period of study.

Education according to the first option indicates that the child is studying according to the common curriculum with children without disabilities. His special educational needs are met in the course of extracurricular work. The essence of the needs and, accordingly, the necessary support, is indicated in the corresponding appendix of the Federal State Educational Standard of the IEO HIA and PrAOOP. The specific content of support is established by the council of the educational organization, PMPK determines only its main directions. Training according to option 1 of the Federal State Educational Standard for IEO HVD can be organized according to the main educational program, if necessary, in accordance with an individual curriculum. Education according to an individual curriculum within the framework of mastered general educational programs is carried out in the manner established by the local regulations of the educational organization. When undergoing training in accordance with an individual curriculum, its duration can be changed by an educational organization, taking into account the characteristics and educational needs of a particular student. AOOP for such students is being developed as part of the program of correctional work, which is implemented in extracurricular activities.

The 2nd option assumes that the student is receiving education in a prolonged period of study. Training according to the second option indicates that the level of complexity of the educational program is lower, the curriculum includes courses in the correctional and developmental area, designated in the Federal State Educational Standard and AOOP. Along with academic achievements, attention is also paid to the formation of the sphere of life competence.
