    Child Care FAQs

The national typical hourly rate in 2022 is $20. 00 per hour for nannies and $17.50 for babysitters. Rates can vary based on the child care provider’s experience, certifications, employment status, and travel expenses. When calculating the cost of child care, you should also account for the number of children they’ll care for and additional responsibilities like household tasks or homework help. Learn more about how to set competitive rates for attracting the best babysitters.

The best way to find child care near you is to post a job detailing your needs on Sittercity, which will be shared with our community of available babysitters and nannies. We’ll notify you when child care providers apply to your job, and from there you can proceed with interviews, background checks, and reference checks so you can find the perfect fit for your family.

You can find experienced and passionate child care providers near you to provide the best care for your child, either in-home or virtually. Child care providers can help families with managing strict schedules, transportation to activities, homework help, last-minute coverage, date nights, and more. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, live-in, or temporary care, you can count on Sittercity for finding passionate and experienced child care providers.

Families find trustworthy child care providers on Sittercity who are passionate about providing safe and enriching care for their children. Many providers report they are First Aid and CPR certified to provide the best care for your family. Babysitters and nannies have the option to complete regular background checks, and you can easily request a recent background check if they don’t have one or it is not recent. Families can also request to see professional references!

Our dedicated team also champions safety across our platform every day. Child care providers go through an identity verification process Berbix when registering an account. Some additional safety measures include Family Watchdog screening, babysitter and nanny reviews, and secure messaging.

Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.

Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.

Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.

Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. Wherever your child’s interests lie, child care providers on Sittercity can engage them in a nurturing way.

Where to go with children in Orlando? – Cheaptrip – Carpe Diem

City-garden, city-park with lakes, giant crowns and thousands of squirrels collecting crumbs from tables of outdoor cafes. Orlando grows and develops at a fantastic, cartoonish pace, which is not surprising: Walt Disney, the “godfather” of Orlando, turned a rather ordinary town in sunny Florida into a grandiose world entertainment center. Now it is the most visited city in the world by tourists (more than 50 million people come here every year) and “the best family vacation center in North America.” More than 80 parks, rides and shows for all ages and fantasies in fairyland.

Walt Disney World – the largest Disneyland in the world, it combines four themed areas and two water parks Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

Magic Kingdom is the first zone of The Walt Disney World Resort and the world’s most visited amusement park with roller coasters, children’s attractions, and of course, the famous haunted castle that will scare even an adult. Roller coaster in absolute darkness (“Space Mountain” and “Thunder Mountain” – in trolleys along the destroyed mine). Favorite rides are Pirates of the Caribbean and Tropical River Trip.

Epcot (Epcot Center), the second zone of the park, a kind of model of the society of the future. There are two thematic parts here: “Showcase of the World” and “World of the Future” – the most interesting thing on planet Earth now and models of fantastic projects, from a time machine to a spaceship. The latest scientific achievements, technologies and a huge model of the world with an area of 11,000 hectares. Epcot’s most famous attraction is the “Spaceship Earth”: a giant ball that contains 18 floors and an illusion of a time machine inside.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios , an area dedicated to the golden age of Hollywood, opened to the first visitors on May 1, 1989. Here you can travel back to the atmosphere of the film sets of the 30s and 40s. XX century and lift the veil of secrecy of film production. The symbol of this part of the park was the huge Mickey Wizard Hat from the cartoon “Fantasy”, which was installed during the celebration of “100 Years of Magic” in 2001.

AnimalKingdom safari park is the most modern and mega-sophisticated of Disney parks – Africa and Asia, lions and crocodiles, “Insect World” and the famous “Dinoland” (Dinosaur Institute). Here you can see not only those animals that exist on the planet now (just a zoo), but also those that lived in antiquity (“Dinopark”), and even those that exist only in the imagination. To do this, you will have to climb into the castle of treasures to the dragon, and get lost in the labyrinth of the Unicorn. Maharaja’s Jungle Tour is an adventure for those who want to raft down a mountain river and see a live tiger emerge from the thicket.

Tyhoon Lagoon – Typhoon Lagoon, the name says it all. The world’s largest artificial waves, a tropical downpour in the jungle, and in the middle of the park is almost a hundred-meter mountain with nine water slides.

And more calm and cozy Blizzard Beach – a water park with all kinds of water slides, rivers, pipes, waterfalls in the rainforest. A magical story about a winter blizzard that swept across Florida, but then everything melted and turned into a world of water activities: snow slides, ski jumps became slides that are considered the highest and fastest in the world. 19waterways, the speed of which can reach 97 km / h, and a huge pool with artificial waves.

And in Universal Studio , you can fly in a time machine from Back to the Future or fight cyborgs on the Terminator ride, shoot aliens with a laser rifle in Men in Black, and survive the end of the world in « earthquakes.” The park’s most favorite rides for children are Shrek and Mummy.

The most terrible attraction, perhaps: “Earthquake in the subway” – a complete illusion of tremors, falling walls of the tunnel, screams and darkness. “Jaws” with a giant shark attack is also impressive. In addition, there are a lot of attractions that immerse you in the atmosphere of films. The little ones can be led along Shrek – it’s not scary at all, but fun. In the same Universal Park there are entire amusement islands. Everything is life-size: both dinosaurs and Hogwarts School. Islands of Adventure is the world of the most desperate rollercoasters, pirates and superheroes. And the best of the attractions of this park is considered “Jurassic Park”.

MGMStudio is all about cinema. Be a stuntman, find out what movie cities, mountains and oceans are made of, fall from a skyscraper, not get burned in a fire and stay dry in the water.

And of course Sea World is a huge oceanarium – you can’t count the aquariums, and a giant game science center where you can not only see thousands of marine life (hello, fish, big and small), but also learn a lot of amazing things about underwater world. At Sea World, we watch shows with killer whales, dolphins, sea cows, seals and sea lions, learn everything about the life of Antarctica and tropical seas, and, of course, there is an unimaginable number of water attractions.

Wet’n Wild is the world’s most popular water park, and even has a tsunami pool: three 520-meter mega-spinning water tube slides at America’s largest water park, Wet’N’Wild. In addition to this pipe, there are several dozen shorter pipes. Extreme to choose from: shakes, throws, drowns, twirls, drops. In Seaworld Park, you can not only watch how whales and dolphins give circus performances, but also feed these marine animals yourself and even touch the rays with your hands.

Islands of Adventure is a new, unique park with the most desperate rollercoasters, breathtaking virtual reality attractions, pirates, superheroes (Superman, Hulk, Spiderman) and characters from the Tales of 1001 Nights. The best attraction of this park is Jurassic Park –

We walk around Orlando and its environs:

In the evening – on Church Street. Discos, bars, western shows, cabarets, carriage rides and horror shows at night. Zombies, vampires, Freddy Krueger and right next to it – Indians and cowboys, the 1001 Nights show and jousting tournaments. Sleep during the day and dive into the nightlife until dawn, because this street has everything you can think of.

Kennedy Space Center – Science and entertainment center at the NASA spaceport at Cape Canaveral, an hour’s drive from the city (you can stop here on your way to Miami). There are guided tours to the launch pads and to the Space Hall of Fame. We look at American space rockets and shuttles, tubes with space breakfasts and dinners, movies about space and everyday life of astronauts.

Busch Gardens, the park of the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company, is very much loved by Americans. Here are the steepest slides: the famous Sheikra rocoster 61 meters high with a difference of 90 degrees and Montu is one of the tallest inverted coasters in the world, where you can ride the reverse and vertical loops at a speed that will make you squeal at the top of your voice. This park is also called the “Black Continent” because the main theme is Africa and safari. We observe the life of lions, tigers, hyenas, hippos, rhinos and other animals, we go to visit chimpanzees and gorillas. In the park, you can ride a 19th-century train, see all the most beautiful of the architectural treasures of Africa at once, get wet to the skin and walk along the Jungala rope bridges, feeling like in the jungle.

Orlando property is great! I spent the whole day there at the spa while my husband was in meetings. Worked out in their well equipped gym, cleaned the locker room which had extra soaps, salts and lotions, used the sauna and spa… BUT, the absolute best part of my experience there was the massage I got from Steven Salters. I have been attending annual meetings there with my husband for five years and have been receiving massages from Stephen Salters for most of those five years. I come home and get monthly massages from a local therapist… But I have to admit that the best ones I get from him. And this is the absolute truth, God help me! I swear. I can’t wait to return next year.

Let’s face it. When you think of The Ritz-Carlton, you think of luxury, humble and attentive staff, great amenities and top notch relaxation. The spa is no different. I come back again and again, never leave dissatisfied. I recently found myself in a mean mood and bought a $50 introductory massage from a chain of massage parlors and I was instantly and terribly disappointed. To compensate for my back, my wife bought a spa day and a massage for my birthday. I returned to the Ritz-Carlton Spa with my tail between my legs and was immediately greeted by the staff. After spending the morning by the pool and at the indoor spa, spoiled by the attentions of JP and Luis, I was escorted and introduced to my massage therapist, Tracey, whom I recognized immediately. I was so excited for my therapy session. Tracy took the time (without eating during the massage, of course) to listen to my complaints and examine my injuries. She gave good advice and told me what I can do to help with my chronic back pain. I left with a load on my shoulders. I guess I’m an R-C customer for life, no regrets.

Everyone was so gracious and the treatments were wonderful. My facial was with Jamie Shen. The cafe lunch of a crab salad was wonderful. We also enjoyed the quiet, huge pool.

Spa and service not the usual excellence and wonderfulness

    June 2022

I am a Florida resident and I have been going to the Ritz Carlton Spa for years. I usually meet up with a friend for an occasion, but I have also gone solo and enjoyed a pedicure and/or facial service. I love that the spa is a separate entity from the hotel. It is a world unto itself. The staff is upbeat and warm and very polite. The cafe consistently serves very fresh and delicious food. There is also a Florida resident discount of 15% that is a nice perk. Yesterday, I met up with a friend to spend some time together. We have met up there many times before. We booked pedicures. Each and every pedicure that I have received in the past at this spa has been exemplary. Yesterday was a different story. Although the nail technician was warm and attentive and had a wonderful personality, my pedicure is not as expected and substandard. I kept asking her not to cut my toenails too short several times and I came home with very short toenails. One is actually crooked. I did not realize that my toes did not look good until I actually got home. Additionally, the massage part of the pedicure was too short and almost nonexistent. The spa really needs to update some areas especially the dressing rooms. They are looking very worn out and shabby. The waiting area couches and rug and curtains are also looking worn out and are in need of updating. And reception always asks if I would like to be escorted up to the second floor to the spa area and they did not ask this time. My experience was not the usual excellence or wonderfulness that I have experienced in the past. The quality appeared to be slipping and I am hoping that this was just an off day for them and shall not be a prediction of the quality of my next visit.

    The peak of luxury

    May 2022 • Traveling alone

This could not have been a more luxurious and relaxing experience. All of the staff members from the front desk to the massage therapist to the attendants to the poolside servers were so kind, welcoming and attentive. My massage was wonderful. The massage therapist put two different oils on my hands so I could smell them and choose the scent I wanted for my massage, I thought that was a nice touch. The food from the cafe was delicious (I highly recommended the passion fruit Panna Cotta). There are plenty of complimentary refreshments and snacks at the spa, and the locker rooms and facilities were impeccable. The best part was the access to the beautiful adult only pool area. I loved that they have an attendant who sets up your chair for you. I’ll definitely be coming back.

    A must!!! Amazing!!!

Amazing spa day!! I took my mom for a spa day and was not disappointed. We have been to many spas in the area and by far this one is our favorite. The staff was great. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and make sure you have everything you need. The ladies room attendants were awesome. So friendly and we’re always there seeing if you needed anything. The facilities were 7 star. I loved how everything was so close. The pool and restaurant were right outside the spa. The pool attendant was also amazing making sure you had towels and water and sunscreen. The cafe was delicious with a great wait staff. Jose was our server and was super friendly. Everyone really made sure you enjoyed your day. I had Sherry for a full body message and she was outstanding. Parking is valet but it was free. The hotel itself was beautiful along with the grounds. I can’t wait to go back.

    Perfect!

    June 2021

My husband, cousin and I had services here on the same day. Our massages were amazing, and the facility was both tranquil and luxurious. It is the customer service at this facility though that I cannot stop raving about.
I had an unfortunate incident happen at the pool where I lost my Tiffany ring. Monetary value aside, this ring was of great sentimental value to me as it was the first gift my husband bought for me. I was not able to find the ring, and reported it to guest services. I was so heartbroken over not finding it. I drew them a picture of the ring, and gave them my contact information on the off chance someone at the spa were to find it.
2 days after the incident, we were back home in Seattle, when I received a personal call from Brittany to inform me that the ring was in fact found at the cafe next to the spa. She directed me to security (Cheobrean) , who had it shipped to me. I couldn’t be happy. I truly appreciate their diligence and care. I will be back to visit and get massages/facials when I am in the area.

“Book” Ballet on a bold topic – DW – 24.

    Culture

Gender reassignment, self-identification, modernism and poetry – and all this on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater, which in the era of a pandemic on March 24 presents the world premiere of a performance by a German choreographer.

“Orlando” is a story about a young English aristocrat, a poet who does not age and lives for three and a half centuries, starting from the era of Queen Elizabeth I and ending with the first half of the 20th century. He is trying to find his “I”, to understand his true individuality. At some point, he falls asleep and is reborn. Orlando turns from a man into a woman.

However, the gender issue and the issue of gender reassignment are not in the first place, says the production director of the performance Christian Spuck, a famous German choreographer who has been heading the Zurich Ballet company for ten years now. According to Shpuk, he also does not think that the Orlando ballet is a provocation.

“We have a tasteful and poetic attitude to the fact that, for example, a man represents the queen or that the role of Orlando is played by a woman. We discussed all this in advance and very carefully with the Bolshoi Theater, because we did not want to offend anyone”, – added the choreographer in a conversation with DW correspondent.

An unusual novel by Virginia Woolf

Orlando, staged at the New Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, is a “bookish” ballet based on the modernist novel of the same name by the famous British writer Virginia Woolf, which was published on 1928 year. In the second half of the 20th century, Woolf became one of the symbols of feminism.

    Christian Spuck Photo: DW

“I was very inspired by this book, which I love very much. It is full of reflections, both poetic and philosophical,” said choreographer Christian Spuck, talking about the novel. He sees the main idea of the writer that it is not so important for her hero Orlando inside that his gender is changing – society itself is changing its attitude towards him, the external view of him is changing, the hero himself continues to live and exist in exactly the same way as before . The choreographer added that the Orlando novel is rich in “voluminous, expressive images. The narrative is more like a dream than reality.”

    Orlando and the prima ballerina

It was the Bolshoi Theater that approached the German choreographer with an offer to stage the play on its stage. One of the most important moments for Christian Spuck at the stage of preparation was the choice of the performer of the part of Orlando. Now five ballerinas are rehearsing this part at once. At the pre-premiere screening for journalists, the role of the young poet was performed by the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Olga Smirnova. She danced the part of the woman in pointe shoes, the men – without.

    Photo: M.Logvinov/Bolshoi Theater

According to Smirnova, Virginia Woolf’s novel was at first incomprehensible to her. “And here we have been in some kind of search for a very long time, how to most clearly convey this story in order to look natural. Because the choreographer said that despite the fact that this is a young man, you must be yourself,” the prima shared her thoughts. ballerina. She also added that Christian Shpuk suggested choreography to the artists of the Bolshoi Theater so that they would feel natural as dramatic actors. As a result, according to Smirnova, the performance turned out, where there are no tricks, fouettes, all that the audience expects when they go to the ballet.

    Olga Smirnova Photo: DW

However, in “Orlando” there is a story and characters in which the audience can recognize themselves, the prima ballerina noted. “This performance is a revelation, including for me. The final stage is important in it, the stage stage, when you understand in what space this choreography exists, when you see the costumes. This is a very atmospheric performance. Of course, we tried to find some movements to make Orlando look more masculine, but it was not an end in itself. The goal was naturalness, “added Olga Smirnova.

Pandemic and love for the Bolshoi

The world premiere of the ballet “Orlando” at the Bolshoi on March 24 takes place at a time when theaters in many countries are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. And the famous theater itself can now take only 50 percent of the visitors. For both the troupe and Christian Spuck, working on the premiere during the epidemic was a real challenge. So, a German choreographer, having arrived in Moscow from Zurich to work on a ballet, contracted a coronavirus and spent three weeks in self-isolation in a hotel room. Despite the fact that he now has immunity, Shpuk still wears a protective mask and still maintains a social distance with colleagues from the Bolshoi Theater.

Christian Spuck told DW that it was extremely comfortable and pleasant for him to work with all members of the Bolshoi Theater troupe, which he treats with the greatest respect.
