Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool^® of The Woodlands opened in 2016 and was the first Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in the Houston metro area. The school is located in the Alden Bridge part of The Woodlands right next door to The Church at Alden Bridge.

Our all-inclusive, private preschool program provides educational child care to children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten in the The Woodlands, Spring, and Magnolia communities. 

In order to cater to your family’s unique child care needs, we offer a variety of schedule options, which are M-F, MWF and Tues./Thurs. Our monthly tuition rates include: formula, wipes, baby food, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and extracurricular activities.

Our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine®, is based on the latest research and trends to prepare your children for their educational careers equipping them with cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language skills.

Area Manager & Program Director

Hello! My name is Karri and I’m excited to be your Area Manager for the Dallas/Houston market. In addition to Area Manager, I also serve as the Program Director for the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of The Woodlands. I’ve been in the education industry for more than 31 years and in administration for more than 26 years. I began my career as a pre-kindergarten teacher, which is when I realized I had a passion for teaching young children and wanted to make it my career. I moved out of the classroom and into administration where I grew professionally and ran several successful preschool programs while raising my son.

I was very excited to find Little Sunshine’s Playhouse as I feel that their Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to learning and quality programs brings an unrivaled distinction in preschool and early childhood education to our area. I love to be hands-on, and you will often see me visiting in the classrooms. My door is always open to my staff and LSP families. I believe the key to a great school is communication, I would love to tell you all about Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and get to know you and your family!

Assistant Director

Hello, my name is TK, and I am the Assistant Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of The Woodlands.

I was blessed to be at home with my children for 20 years, volunteering in my “free time” with our church and the schools. After moving to Texas in 2012, I entered the early childhood field. I fell in love with my job and discovered that I have a passion for education. I feel strongly that early childhood education is key to long-term success in life. I was overjoyed to be hired as a head teacher for the opening team of LSP The Woodlands and served in that role from October of 2016 until I was promoted to the assistant director position in December of 2020.

Reggio Emilia curriculum is my jam! I could talk about the ins and outs of it for hours. I love watching children learn, and when they can learn through creative measures in a safe and loving environment, it is the best feeling! I also feel that it is important to build positive relationships with our families and strive to do so each day from the first phone inquiry to Pre-K graduation.

I have been married to my best friend, Jon, for 30 years, and together we have raised four beautiful children. We live in Willis, TX, with two of our kiddos and our fur babies.

The best part about my job is our relationship with our families and seeing the smiling faces of our students when they come to school. I can hardly wait to welcome you to our Little Sunshine’s family!

Infant Program (6 weeks – 1 year)

Our highly trained infant teachers partner with you to ensure your baby’s developmental needs are met every step along the way. Our nursery staff create predictable routines and nurturing classroom environments that foster social and emotional development in your baby.  

Toddler Program (1-2 years)

Our toddler classrooms are designed to encourage purposeful play where our teachers guide your child through age-appropriate learning experiences that prepare them with the knowledge they need to be confident as they grow.

Early Preschool Program (2-3 years)

Your child’s preschool teacher and our classroom create a nurturing, home-like classroom environment where your toddler is treated as a capable individual, whose opinions, actions and thoughts are respected and valued.

Preschool Program (3-4 years)

We design our preschool classrooms with developmental milestones in mind and equip each classroom with age-appropriate, educational toys to help continue inspiring your preschoolers curiosity and desire to learn and engage with their classmates and their environment.

Pre-K Program (4-5 years)

It is our mission to prepare your child for a successful year in the wonderful world of kindergarten. Our skilled pre-K teachers help build essential skills by carefully crafting engaging activities that balance instructed learning and purposeful play.

I really can’t say enough good things about Little Sunshine’s. We have been going there since they opened in 2016. We have sent two of our kids there, the youngest is still there. The entire staff, including teachers ancillary and directors are amazing. They treat your kids like their own. If you stand in the front in the morning the staff knows every single name of the kid that walks in, which just warms my heart. The food is healthy and delicious. One of the best parts about Little Sunshine’s is the cleanliness and it always smells so fresh and clean. If you were thinking about sending your kids there take a tour and check it out.

My almost 3-year-old son started at Little Sunshine’s about two months ago. I was very nervous about enrolling him because he hadn’t been in full-time care before. His teachers at LSP have been amazing and put my mind at ease. It’s so cool to have a teacher who’s just as excited about his milestones as I am. Even on difficult mornings, I don’t have any hesitation leaving my son in her arms. We’re thrilled with the teachers in the twos class at LSP.
