AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Children’s Beginnings Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accreditations does KinderCare have?

We are your trusted caregiver. Our centers are state-licensed and regularly inspected to make sure everything meets or exceeds standards, including child-to-teacher ratios and safe facilities. Our centers aren’t just licensed—most are accredited, too! Find out more.

Do you offer part-time schedules at Children’s Beginnings?

Everybody’s schedule is different. We’re happy to offer quality, affordable part-time and full-time childcare. Drop-in care may also be available. Reach out to your Center Director to learn more.

How does naptime work at Children’s Beginnings?

Our teachers meet every child’s needs during naptime. Our teachers know how to get babies to nap. In fact, they are pros at getting children of any age to nap. Visit our article on “10 Ways We Help Kids Get a Great Daycare Nap” to learn more.

Do you support alternative diets?

We strive to be as inclusive as possible. To that point, we provide a vegetarian option at mealtime, take care to not serve common allergens and can adapt menus based on your child’s food sensitivities. If your child has additional needs, we’ll work with you to figure out a plan.

Are meals included in tuition? Can I choose to send my child with lunch?

We provide nutritious meals and snacks developed by a registered dietician to meet the needs of rapidly growing bodies and minds. If your child has special dietary requirements and you would prefer to bring in their lunch, please make arrangements with the center director.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Every child begins toilet learning at a different age. Until your child shows an interest in toilet learning, we’ll provide diaper changes on an as-needed basis. When your child shows an interest, we’ll discuss how to work together to encourage toilet learning.

Syracuse – the main city of the province of the same name in Sicily in Italy, located in the southeast of the island, on the coast of the Ionian Sea. The picturesque bay in which Syracuse is located is bounded on one side by the island of Ortigia, and on the other by the Maddalena Peninsula. The population is 125,000 people.

Nearest international airport:
Syracuse Hancock International

Attractions:
The Sicilians themselves proudly say: “There is no need to go to Greece, because everything is in Syracuse.”

The Greek Theater in Syracuse is the largest building from antiquity that has survived to this day in Europe. In the times of the Hellenic civilization, this place had a great cultural value; the premieres of performances by ancient Greek authors took place here. The theater is cut into the rocky slopes of the Temenite hill and, surprisingly, to this day continues to host artists whose roles are ancient Greek tragedies and comedies.

Maniace Castle is a castle in Sicily, located on a high promontory. For a long history, the castle served as the residence of the Sicilian queens, a prison and a fortification that protected the harbor and the city. The military architecture looks a bit unusual among the Mediterranean landscapes of Syracuse. However, local residents are proud that they managed to preserve the cultural heritage built back in 1232-1240. by order of Emperor Frederick II.

The Paolo Rossi Regional Archaeological Museum covers an area of 9000 square meters. The museum is divided into thematic areas: geological, paleontological, archaeological and dozens of others. To see all the exhibits, from the most ancient to more modern eras, it will take at least two days.

The ruins of the Temple of Apollo and Artemis are considered one of the oldest historical monuments in Sicily. The temple was built in the 7th century; then it was a majestic structure, its width was 51m, length – 105m, and the roof was supported by 127 eighteen-meter columns. But today, its greatness can only be guessed at by the size of the remaining ruins and by pictures of reconstructions sold by local guides.

The Pantalica Necropolis in Sicily contains more than 5,000 open-air tombs carved into the rocks of the Iblean Mountains. The architectural monument dates back to the period of the 13th – 7th centuries. BC e. and along with Syracuse is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The main Florentine Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (XIII-XIV centuries) is the third largest in the world after the Cathedrals of St. Peter in Rome and St. Paul in London. It was designed to accommodate the entire population of the city (at the time of construction – 90,000 people), that is, it was something like a huge covered area. The red dome of the cathedral, which has become a symbol of Florence, despite its huge size, gives the impression of weightlessness.

Etymology:
The name Syracuse comes from “Syrac”, a swampy area near which the city was founded.

History of the city:

The city was founded by the ancient Corythian Greeks and immediately became a powerful city-state. Syracuse was allied with Sparta and Corinth, influencing the territory of all Greece, where they were the main city. Described by Cicero as “the greatest and most beautiful of all Greek cities”, Syracuse later joined the Roman Republic and the Byzantine Empire. After that, Palermo took the place of Syracuse, becoming the capital of the Kingdom of Sicily. Eventually, the kingdom would be united with the Kingdom of Naples, resulting in the formation of the 2 Kingdoms of Sicily until the unification of Italy in 1860.

The democratic regime came to Syracuse already in 467 BC. e. In the 5th century BC e. Syracuse gets involved in a war with Athens.

In 397 B.C. e. Syracuse gets involved in the war against Carthage. During the war, the power of the city on the island weakened, and its ruler, Timoleon, hoped to solve this problem by winning. Almost a hundred years later, a peace treaty was concluded between the cities, but this did not prevent Carthage from further intervening in the politics of Syracuse. In 275 BC. e. Hiero II ascended the throne.

The 50 years of Hiero’s reign is called the period of peace and prosperity of Syracuse, it was at this time that the city became one of the most famous capitals of ancient civilization. It was at this time that the famous mathematician and philosopher Archimedes lived and worked here.

But Hiero’s successor, Jerome, lost the Battle of Cannae to Rome and turned to Carthage for support. In 212 B.C. e. The Romans took the city by storm.

Besieged in 878, the city fell under Muslim rule for two whole centuries. The capital was moved to Palermo. A mosque was built in the Cathedral.

In 1038 Byzantium conquered Syracuse.

In 1194 Henry VI of Swabia occupied Syracuse. After a short reign of Genoa (1205 – 1220), Syracuse was conquered by Emperor Frederick II. He is engaged in the construction of the Castello Magnas, the Bishops’ Palace and the Bellomo Palace. After his death, feudal anarchy reigns in the city. In the war between the monarchies of Anjou and Arogonia, Syracuse takes the side of the latter and celebrates victory together in 1298. As a reward, the city receives great privileges from the Spanish court.

In 1542 and 1693 the city was hit by two major earthquakes. And in 1729 the plague hit him. The spread of cholera in 1837 led to an uprising against the Bourbon government. As punishment, the government moved the capital to Noto, but already in 1848 Syracuse took part in the Sicilian independent revolution.

Only after the unification of Italy in 1865 did Syracuse regain its status as the provincial capital. In 1870, a bridge and railroad were built connecting the mainland to the island.

During the bombings of 1943, most of the city was destroyed.

Famous residents of the city:
Speaking about the contribution of Syracuse to European and Mediterranean culture, several names can be mentioned:

Archimedes (287 BC – 212 BC) – ancient Greek mathematician, physicist, mechanic and engineer from Syracuse. The scientist laid the foundations of mechanics (introduced the concept of the center of gravity), hydrostatics, designed a planetarium. The author of a number of discoveries in geometry and important inventions, among them, for example, a screw for lifting water, which is still used today. It is known that the scientist helped save the city from invaders more than once;

Plato (428 or 427 BC – 347 BC) – ancient Greek philosopher, student of Socrates, teacher of Aristotle. It was in Syracuse that Plato lived and worked for many years;
it was sung by Virgil, Theocritus and Pindar;

Epicharm (born c. 540 BC) – ancient Greek pre-Socratic philosopher, poet and founder of the comedy genre;

Theocritus (c. 300-c. 260 BC) – ancient Greek poet of the 3rd century. BC, known mainly for its idylls;

St. Giuseppe, or Giuseppe Moscati (1880-1927) – saint of the Roman Catholic Church, Italian doctor, creator of religious hymns;

Gaetano Zumma – famous creator of wax sculptures;

Elio Vittorini (1908-1966) – Italian writer and literary critic, staunch anti-fascist

Interesting facts about the city:
Today, Syracuse is not only a monument of art and architecture protected by UNESCO, but also a balneological resort in Sicily, where treatment is carried out mainly with mineral (thermal) waters.

Few people know that in ancient times Syracuse was not only the political and cultural capital of the island, but also the largest center of viticulture and winemaking, and the vine was first introduced by the Greeks. The fact is that the flat landscape, an excess of sun, coupled with an abundance of water resources, the predominance of red soils, is especially suitable for growing fruit trees and grapes. The total area of vineyards in Syracuse is more than 2200 hectares!

The word “mafia” was formed from the abbreviation “M.A.F.I.A.”, which was one of the slogans of the participants in the anti-French uprising of the XIII century and meant the phrase: “Morete alla Francia, – Italia anela” (“Die all France – sigh, Italy”).

It was in the region of Syracuse in Sicily that the organization “Cosa Nostra” (translated from Italian – “Our Business”) arose, which, in fact, was the first organized criminal group. The members of the Cosa Nostra were originally recruited from poor Sicilian peasants.

In the Greek theater in Syracuse, performances of “Sophocles” and “Euripides” in ancient Greek are held, and they take place exclusively in May-June in even years.
The history of the Arethusa spring is shrouded in legends, one of them is willingly told here to all lovers. The hunter Alpheus was so deeply in love with the nymph Arethusa that she could not stand the pressure of his courtship and, out of desperation, rushed into the Aegean Sea. But the goddess Artemis favored the lovers and turned the nymph into a spring, and the hunter into a river, and they united their waters after seven years. Alpheus had to rush for many years to the island of Ortydzh in order to find here the lake of Aretuza, which is dear to his heart. Subsequently, the happiness he gained was immortalized in a beautiful and touching legend. And this place is recognized as the most romantic in Syracuse.

The interior of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore features an unusual clock created by Uccelo in 1443 and still in use today. And they are unusual in that the hand of this watch moves against the usual direction.

The story of the death of Archimedes at the hands of the Romans exists in several versions. One of them says that the robber broke into the house of Archimedes, brought the sword to the owner, and he only managed to shout: “Stop, wait at least a little. I want to finish solving the problem, and then do what you want!”

The monuments and archaeological sites located in Syracuse are the best example of the outstanding architectural creativity of the Greek era, Roman and Baroque. Syracuse is directly associated with events, ideas and literary works of outstanding universal (world) significance.

Twin Cities:
Athens (Greece)

Corinth (Greece)

Leisure:
Syracuse is sometimes called the “capital of sun and light” – there are more cloudless days here than in any other place in Sicily, not to mention mainland Italy or neighboring France. On the coast between Cape Augusta and the city of Syracuse, there are several other small resort towns. Wide sandy beaches alternate here with rocky and steep shores that will appeal to diving enthusiasts.
