Lego construction in kindergarten (L.V. Dubrovina)

Toys, games – one of the most powerful educational means in the hands of society. The game is usually called the main activity of the child. It is in the game that different aspects of his personality are manifested and developed, many intellectual and emotional needs are satisfied, character is formed, which positively affects the social health of a preschooler. Such games of a new type are Lego constructors, which, for all their diversity, come from a common idea and have characteristic features. nine0003

Each game with a building set is a set of tasks that a child solves with the help of parts from the building set. Tasks are given to the child in various forms: in the form of a model, drawing, photograph, drawing, oral instruction, etc. and thus introduce him to different ways of transmitting information. The gradual increase in the difficulty of design tasks allows the child to move forward and improve independently, i.e. to develop their creative abilities, in contrast to education, where everything is explained and where only performing traits are formed in the child. nine0003

Most of the games with the constructor are not limited to the proposed tasks, but allow children to compose new versions of tasks and invent new games with the constructor, i.e. engage in creative activities. So modeling from Lego-constructors allows you to solve several problems at once related to the development of creative abilities, imagination, intellectual activity; formation on the basis of the creation of common structures of communication skills; the ability to express their suggestions, advice, requests in a joint activity, to answer questions in a polite manner; kindly offer help; unite in the game in pairs, micro-groups. nine0003

Lego building is a productive activity based on creative modeling (building games) using a wide range of versatile Lego elements. The use of Lego constructors helps to realize serious educational tasks, since in the process of an exciting creative and cognitive game, favorable conditions are created that stimulate the comprehensive development of a preschooler in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard.

The development of mathematical abilities – the child selects, counts the details necessary for size, color, configuration. nine0003

Development of speech and communication skills – the child replenishes the dictionary with new words, communicates with adults in the process of construction, asks specific questions about various objects, clarifies their properties.

Correctional work – has a beneficial effect on the development of the child as a whole (develops fine motor skills, memory, attention, logical and spatial thinking, creativity, etc.).

Educational work – joint play with other children and adults helps the child become more organized, disciplined, purposeful, emotionally stable and efficient, thus playing a positive role in the process of preparing the child for school. nine0003

Tasks of the Lego method senior and preparatory groups:

  • stimulate children’s technical creativity;
  • to teach modeling according to the drawing and own plan;
  • to form the ability to independently solve technical problems;
  • introduce the basics of computer modeling.

With children 4-5 years old, design becomes more complicated, medium-sized elements are used, more complex options for connecting parts are used. In the middle group, color photos and pictures with images of models are used, according to which children must complete the construction. Creative activity is carried out according to the theme, model, design and the simplest conditions. nine0003

At the age of 6-7, various types of Lego-constructors are offered for technical creativity, from large elements with simple connections to the smallest ones with complex technique. In working with older preschoolers, you can use tasks in the form of graphic diagrams, complicated models of future buildings, work according to the plan, conditions, various thematic tasks.

Forms of organization of teaching preschoolers to design

In order to develop children’s design as an activity in which the child develops, the forms of organization of learning recommended by researchers Z.E. Lishtvan, V.G. Nechaeva, L.A. Paramonova are used:

  1. Model building: this consists in offering children samples of buildings made from parts of building materials and constructors, and showing how to reproduce them. This form of education provides children with a direct transfer of ready-made knowledge, methods of action based on imitation. It is difficult to connect such construction directly with the development of creativity. Designing according to a model, which is based on imitative activity, is an important decisive stage where you can solve problems that ensure the transition of children to independent search activities of a creative nature. nine0022
  2. Designing according to the model: children are offered a model as a model, hiding from the child the outline of its individual elements. Children can reproduce this model from the building material they have. Thus, they are offered a certain task, but not given a way to solve it. Setting such tasks for preschoolers is a fairly effective means of solving the activation of their thinking. Model-based design is a more sophisticated form of model-based design. nine0022
  3. Design by conditions: without giving children a sample of the construction of drawings and how to build it, they determine only the conditions that the building must meet and which, as a rule, emphasize its practical purpose. The design tasks in this case are expressed through conditions and are of a problematic nature, since there are no ways to solve them. In the process of such construction, children develop the ability to analyze conditions and, on the basis of this analysis, build practical activities of a rather complex structure. This form of organization of learning contributes to the development of creative design to the greatest extent. nine0022
  4. Designing according to the simplest drawings and visual diagrams: the modeling nature of the activity itself, in which the external and individual functional features of real objects are recreated from the details of the building material, creates opportunities for the development of internal forms of visual modeling. As a result of such training, thinking and cognitive abilities are formed in children.
  5. Design by design: has great potential for developing children’s creativity and the manifestation of their independence – they themselves decide what and how they will design. This form is not a means of teaching children to create ideas, it only allows them to independently and creatively use the knowledge and skills acquired earlier. nine0022
  6. Design by theme: children are offered a general theme of structures, and they themselves create ideas for specific buildings, choose material and methods of implementation. This form of construction, which is quite common in practice, is very similar in nature to designing by design – with the only difference that the children’s ideas here are limited to a specific topic. The main goal of designing on a given topic is the actualization and consolidation of knowledge and skills.

Passport of the innovation project

Innovation site certificate

TIP work plan for 2022

Project description

will be focused on mathematical development, experimental activities, design, robotics and animation, as well as create the prerequisites for successful schooling, without violating the most important rule: the main activity of preschoolers is the game. nine0003

Objectives of the project

  • To introduce an educational model into the practice of the preschool organization that forms an interest in scientific and technical knowledge among preschoolers.
  • Develop guidelines on the topic of the project.
  • To promote the popularization of design and robotics, as well as experimental activities as forms of leisure activities for preschoolers.
  • Involve preschoolers, teachers, parents in joint project activities. nine0022

Project implementation stages

– 2019-2022 Practice oriented.

II – 2022-2024 Basic. Dissemination (is also an integral part of the final stage).

III – 2023-2024 Final. Analytical.

Educational model, aimed at immersing preschoolers

in scientific and technical creativity .

This model includes three units. In the educational space of a preschool organization, preschool and additional education interact, interacting they create the third block – the territory of free communication.

Within the territory of free communication, such forms of interaction are used in which each participant of the educational process gets acquainted with technical creativity, joins it and gets the opportunity to present the results of their creative and research projects to others. nine0003

Pre-school education. The main educational program includes educational modules from the partial program of T.V. Volosovets, V.A. Markova, S.A. F. Froebel’s system” and “Experimenting with animate and inanimate nature”

All pupils of senior preschool age attend as part of organized educational activities “Mathematical Laboratory” and “Laboratory of Scientific Experiments”

For all age groups:

– experimental corners are equipped, maintaining the interest of children of all ages in constructive modeling activities.

Additional education. nine0078 The technical direction is represented by Lego-studio and cartoon studio, they are visited at will. The work of the Lego-studio is carried out according to the developed author’s program on Lego-design and robotics in the Lego-bot kindergarten, which involves four years of study with a gradual complication of tasks (3-7 years). Robotics is included in the content of classes in the fourth year of study.

Pupils of the animation studio create cartoons according to their own design or based on works, cartoons dedicated to calendar holidays. The results of the work of children in the animation studio are demonstrated as part of the final event. nine0003

Pre-school and additional education create “Territory of free communication” . This block provides an opportunity for all pupils and their parents to get acquainted with technical creativity, participate in the development of scientific and technical projects, and present them. For this purpose, thematic club hours are held, an annual contest of design models “I am an engineer” is held among older preschoolers, in which pupils create and show their “inventions” or create and defend family projects. Pupils participate in competitions of different levels. nine0003

It is possible that such an educational model can be applied not only to include preschoolers in scientific and technical creativity, but also for other areas of development that are important and relevant today.
