Assembly Guide Guidelines are recommended for children from children from children from 6 TO 24 MONTHS.

1. Attach the hinge bracket (A) to the wall (fixed side of the gate) using a Phillips screw ( C ) to drill a pilot hole 6 inches above the floor surface. (Use the ruler on the left edge of this sheet to measure the distance from the floor).
   OPTION: Long screws ( J ) can be used to attach the gate to the post through drywall.
2. Install the second screw ( C) on top of the swivel bracket that secures it to the wall.
3. Insert the eyebolts with nut and washer ( E ) into the top and bottom of the door hinge (three-hole side). Make sure the nuts are tight. Do not use the middle hole at this stage.
4. Hang the gate by inserting the hinge rod ( B ) through the top of the hinge bracket ( A ) through the top plastic shoulder washer ( F ), through both eyebolts, through the bottom plastic thrust washer ( F ) and finally through the bottom of the hinge bracket . To secure the loop, insert the key ring ( I ) through the hole at the end of the hinge shaft. The gate can be installed at an angle of up to 30 degrees.
5. Mounting latch assembly (K) to gate with 3/4” bolts with toothed washers ( D ). Attach the latch assembly wall mount (H) to the piece (K) that is now attached to the gate. Pull out the gate to mark the holes for ( H ) on the side wall. (* AN OPTIONAL SINGLE-SIDED BRACKET IS INSTALLED HERE) Then attach the latch wall mount assembly to the wall with Phillips screws ( C ). Additional long screws (J ) can be used to attach the gate to the post through drywall.
6. Keep the gate closed and locked. Use the Allen key ( G ) to insert the set screws ( L ) into the top and bottom gate brackets. Tighten the set screws to set the door width.

Install the locking bracket in one direction ( M) so that the latches for maximum wall mounting on one side open only.

GATE CONTROL

TO OPEN:
When approaching the gate, if the latch is on your left, use your right hand. Press the flip latches simultaneously with your thumb and forefinger while lifting the gate with the rest of your fingers.

CLOSING : Grasp the gate in the middle. Lift the door and align the latch pins with the holes in the bracket. Place for delivery. There is no need to close the gate with latches.

DOOR MAINTENANCE

Rinse with warm water to clean. Wash gently with mild soap or detergent and warm water using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse again. Wipe dry with a soft cloth or sponge to remove water stains. DO NOT scratch or use brushes or scrapers.

• Detoxification – Medically, patients are detoxified for all mood-altering chemicals in a unit similar to an intensive care unit in a general hospital. Willingway is equipped to successfully detox patients from notoriously difficult chemicals such as methadone, OxyContin, Valium and Xanax. ^[2]
• Inpatient / Inpatient – after detoxification is completed, patients are then transferred to the second phase of treatment, where they are provided with an individual consultant and begin to identify the problems they may face on the path to long-term recovery, as well as the solutions that accompany them. They learn to apply the principles of the A.A. program in all areas of their lives. ^[2]
• Day Care/Partial Hospitalization – This modified version of the inpatient program is offered to those who do not necessarily need 24/7 supervision but require a more detailed structure than is available to them in the outpatient program. ^[2]
• Family program. During the last five days of the patient’s stay at Willingway, the patient’s family members are encouraged to participate in the program with their loved ones so that they can learn more about the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. Family therapy and special groups are integral to this experience. ^[2]
• Intensive Outpatient Care – This level of care allows the patient to live at home during treatment. Patients attend evening group sessions and meet with a counselor weekly. As with other Willingway programs, medical staff are actively involved in the treatment process. ^[2]
• Individual Outpatient Counseling – Patients who no longer require intensive outpatient group work can continue to meet with their consultant one-on-one. ^[2]
• Extended Treatment – Long-term treatment programs are recommended for alcoholics and drug addicts who need more time to develop the skills needed to maintain lifelong sobriety. The “Women’s Hostel” and “Men’s House” host individual and group consultations. Residents attend A.A. meetings and begin to apply what they have learned to their daily lives. ^[2]
• Continuing Care – Before patients leave Willingway Hospital, they are given follow-up care plans to help them continue their recovery. Although each plan is different, all patients are encouraged to fully immerse themselves in Alcoholics Anonymous or another twelve-step program in which they receive a sponsor, attend meetings, and begin working the twelve steps. ^[2]

Patients are assessed and receive care that is best suited to their needs. Each patient’s program is completely individual. ^[2]

Facts & Figures

Willingway is licensed as a specialty hospital by the Georgia Department of Human Resources and accredited by the JCAHO. The average length of stay is 25.62 days. The total number of hospitalizations per year is 512. Approximately 33% of all patients are women and 12% are under 25 years of age. ^[3]

History

Although Willingway was not founded until 1971, its history began in 1959 when Dr. them a new way of life. ^[4] Their hopes were realized, and seemingly hopeless men and women were freed from alcohol slavery as a result of the care they received from their doctor and his wife. As word spread about Mooney, it became apparent that the house on Lee Street simply didn’t have enough room for everyone who sought treatment. ^[5] As a result, they started building Willingway, a 40-bed facility. On August 11, 1971, Willingway became a licensed hospital. John Mooney stepped down as director of Willingway at 1982 year. However, the couple’s four children, Al, Jimmy, Bobby and Carol Lind, still serve on the hospital’s board of directors. ^[2] Eldest son, Al, co-authored Recovery Book , known by many as the Bible of Addiction Medicine. ^[6] In May 2016, it was announced that Willingway was being bought by Summit BHC, a private chain of addiction treatment centers. ^[7]

Community

Many patients admitted to Willingway Hospital remain in Statesboro and become active members of their community. Georgia Southern University, also located in Statesboro, Georgia, and the Willingway Foundation (a non-profit Willingway organization) have teamed up to create an Addiction Treatment Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University. History

In 1946 a number of prominent Citizens of Columbus gathered together to set a common goal for the entire community: satisfying the entire community: satisfying the entire community: satisfy the urgent need of society for a modern religious hospital. Initially, they raised $45 million in seed money that would enable St. Francis Hospital to be established in a post-war economy severely depleted by the mobilization efforts of World War II. The very first patient was hospitalized four years later, on April 1950 years.

During the first year, 4733 patients were admitted to the hospital. What started as a 154-bed hospital with 17 nurses, 171 laymen, and 60 physicians has grown into a 376-bed licensed facility with over 1,400 staff members, 300 physicians, and a wide range of services, including the only open heart surgery program in the area. ^{[ citation needed ]}

The Society of Saint Francis

The Society of Saint Francis consists of annual sponsors. Membership is open to individuals, couples, family foundations, and private aid companies.

Sister Patricia Garrigan Scholarship

In 1993, the Sister Patricia Garrigan Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Sister Patricia Garrigan for her 22 years as administrator of St. Francis Hospital. The purpose of this scholarship is to educate deserving students working in healthcare at St. Francis Hospital. This scholarship can be awarded to employees or non-employees and varies based on need and is funded by the Cheers Foundation. The Sister Patricia Garrigan Scholarship does not cover the undergraduate core curriculum.

CHEERS stands for Caring Hospital Employees See Real Success. The annual CHEERS campaign has been the centerpiece of all the caring work that the staff at St. Francis has been doing since it began in 1994. On average, 90-95 percent of the hospital’s over 1,600 employees contribute each year. As a direct result of their generosity, some 10,000 individuals and families, including low-income hospital patients, have received various forms of financial assistance. St. Francis covers all of CHEERS’ administrative expenses so that 100 percent of donations can go directly and positively impact the lives of others.

CHEERS Supports:

• The Care Fund – Medical care for the less fortunate patients of St. Francis. Outraged patients receive help with prescription drugs, as well as transportation when needed.
• Mutual Fund – emergency financial assistance to those who – including colleagues – are in a crisis situation.
• Scholarship Fund – Scholarships for individuals interested in a career in healthcare. The Sister Patricia Garrigan Scholarship Fund has helped over 60 students in their quest to graduate.
• United Way – United Way of Chattahoochee Valley distributes funds to many outstanding community organizations that need community support. ^[2]

St. Francis Patrick Hard Institute

The St. Francis Patrick Heart Institute is a source for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with heart problems. Cardiologists and surgeons provide comprehensive cardiac care, from state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures and the region’s only open heart surgery program to cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty and an innovative rehabilitation program. St. Francis was the first hospital in the area to perform open heart surgery, balloon angioplasty and automatic defibrillator implants.

Cardiac Diagnostics

The Institute uses diagnostic procedures to provide accurate analysis to determine treatment for patients with cardiovascular disease. These procedures range from non-invasive tests such as an electrocardiogram (ECG), an electrophysiological test (EP), stress tests, nuclear cardiolith studies, echocardiograms, and Doppler blood flow studies, to more complex and complex tests such as a coronary angiogram. . Many of these tests can be done on an outpatient basis. They serve as a useful tool for assessing abnormalities of the heart and blood vessels, or as a tool for imaging the heart muscle and valves. In addition, St. Francis Hospital’s cardiologists have performed more than 15,000 cardiac catheterizations at the Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory.

Cardiac Intervention

After the heart problem is accurately diagnosed, the Heart Institute. Patrick’s of St. Francis, together with the patient’s doctor, can provide the appropriate treatment through a number of valuable methods. For some patients, an intervention such as coronary angioplasty or atherectomy may be a possible alternative to bypass surgery. Patients opting for angioplasty and atherectomy are usually discharged 24 to 48 hours after the procedure and in most cases resume full daily activities.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

St. Francis Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is specifically designed for patients who have experienced: a heart attack, heart surgery, cardiac angioplasty or stenting, or patients at high risk for heart disease. It is important to understand that anyone who has had a similar experience may be concerned about exercise. The rehabilitation clinic staff monitors all exercises and assists patients in developing their individual exercise programs. The goal of the program is to help each patient return to an active and productive lifestyle. The gym has an indoor treadmill, treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing machines, and exercise equipment designed to improve patient strength along with physical fitness.

Emergency Department

St. Francis Hospital’s Emergency Department is staffed by doctors and nurses who have received special training in emergency medicine. ^{[ citation needed ]} St. Francis prides itself on its commitment to providing a complete range of cardiovascular care. As a result, the hospital has two specially equipped rooms for cardiovascular care. In typical cases of heart failure, thrombolytic drugs can sometimes be used to dissolve blood clots and as a useful method to reduce further damage to the patient’s heart. It is an advanced protection against arrhythmia and heart attacks and must be administered within at least the first six hours after the onset of a heart attack to be effective.

The St. Francis Emergency Department is relatively new. Patient safety was at the heart of the design and planning process. This state-of-the-art emergency room offers large, well-lit rooms specially positioned so that any changes in the patient’s condition, whether minor or critical, can be quickly and easily assessed. Bedside check-in empowers medical staff to respond quickly so treatment is not delayed. The hospital also uses a pneumatic tube system as a means to send laboratory samples for faster results. Finally, a tactical measure to reduce time-consuming paperwork is the PIXIS computerized hospital system, which provides constant access to supplies and medicines.

ED FastTrack St. Francis Fast Track The Emergency Area caters for patients with less emergencies, including but not limited to things like sprained ankles and headaches. The possibilities offered by having a separate Fast Track help ensure that these patients do not have to endure waiting times for patients experiencing life-threatening emergencies; the average waiting time is approximately 90 minutes. In 2003 St. Francis doubled the number of Fast track beds after the completion of the new emergency room.

St. Francis Orthopedic Institute

On August 1, 2006, St. Francis Hospital, together with doctors from McCluskey Orthopedic Surgery (MOS) ^[3] , founded the St. Francis Orthopedic Institute. MOS underwent a natural transition as the outpatient practice was located in the new St. Francis Medical Office building and the inpatient practice was centered in St. Francis. Physicians at the Institute are board certified or eligible to be members of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons or the National Board of Osteopathic Orthopedic Surgery. Most of these highly trained orthopedic surgeons have completed training in specialized fields such as shoulder surgery, foot and ankle surgery or adult reconstructive surgery and total joint replacement. The practice leadership team has published many articles in medical textbooks and peer-reviewed journals. The Institute cooperates with St. Francis Hospital; St. Francis Rehabilitation Center; and McCluskey Education & Research Foundation, Inc. , ^[4] in order to offer the best hospital services for rehabilitation, musculoskeletal research, and educational materials for patients as well as members of the greater Columbus Square community.

Research and Education Center Research and Education Center is located within walking distance of the St. Francis Orthopedic Institute clinical rooms, St. Francis Rehabilitation Center Physical Therapy Gymnasium, and St. Francis Hospital Operating Rooms.

St. Francis Adult Reconstruction Center The Adult Reconstruction Center offers digital imaging rooms, inpatient and outpatient surgery rooms, an outpatient rehabilitation center, and an orthopedic unit with separate inpatient treatment rooms. Support staff provide training and education for patients. They also collect data for clinical outcome studies in a private area to ensure patient confidentiality. To support professional development, the Institute provides meeting rooms, offices, an orthopedic library, and the services of its research and education center. The Adult Reconstruction Center is a referral center serving the Southeastern United States. However, patients have the option of making an appointment without a referral from another doctor. The medical institution treats chronic and acute fractures, post-traumatic deformities and post-traumatic arthritis. The latest innovations are used to relieve pain and restore function, such as bone graft replacements for the latest joints.

St. Francis Foot and Ankle Center The Foot and Ankle Center treats chronic and acute diseases of the ankle and foot both operatively and non-operatively. It is one of the few providers in the region that offers total ankle replacement as an alternative treatment for degenerative ankle arthritis. In 2009, the chief surgeon of the institution performed 616 outpatient and 186 inpatient surgeries. Physicians at the facility have treated patients from 24 different states, and thirty percent of all patients treated daily travel from areas outside the Chattahoochee Valley. Director of the Foot and Ankle Center Lee McCluskey, Maryland, gave several keynote lectures in New Orleans at the 2008 meeting of the North American Foot and Ankle Association. ^{[ citation needed ]}

St. Francis Joint Replacement Center Joint Replacement Center offers treatment for over 100 different conditions. Surgeons working in the institution provide non-surgical and surgical treatment of arthritic joints, lower and upper extremities. Non-surgical treatment consists of fixation; medicines; and intra-articular injections such as hyaluronic acid. In addition, the center offers less common joint arthroplasty procedures, including single-unit knee replacement, patellofemoral arthroplasty, hip resurfacing, and computer surgery. The surgeons working at this facility can perform cemented or non-cemented total hip replacement with conventional metal to a high standard. cross-linked polyethylene implants, large metal on metal implants, or ceramic on ceramic implants. They typically use conventional implants with or without cruciate ligament preservation in total knee replacement, and also offer trabecular metal, gender-specific, and high knee flexion femoral implant designs to meet the needs of their patients.

St. Francis Sports Medicine Center The Sports Medicine Center is located on the grounds of St. Francis Hospital. The facility offers management and evaluation equipment, including digital imaging and surgical rooms, and a rehabilitation center. There is an arthroscopic training laboratory and a clinical research staff that enable physicians to continuously develop and improve the treatment and outcomes of their patients. The Sports Medicine Center is a referral center serving the Southeastern United States. The Center regularly published treats for amateur, recreational and professional athletes, as well as non-athletes for simple and complex lower and upper limb musculoskeletal injuries. Physicians practicing at the Sports Medicine Center are trained in, but not limited to, procedures such as: arthroscopic rotator cuff repair; arthroscopic treatment of shoulder instability; arthroscopic treatment of the elbow, hip, foot and ankle; as well as arthroscopic reconstructions of the knee joint. ^{[ citation needed ]}

St. Francis Interventional Pain Center The Pain Center provides treatment and evaluation for acute and chronic conditions of the neck and back. Both invasive and non-invasive therapies are available for the treatment of chronic and acute pain. Services include a medical office and digital imaging rooms, an outpatient area for invasive pain management procedures, an outpatient rehabilitation facility, and an orthopedic unit with private patient care rooms.

Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Breast Health Center in St. Francis

Breast cancer is usually treated using a combination of topical and systemic therapies. The goal of topical therapy is to destroy the cancer cells contained in the breast as well as the lymph nodes associated with them, which helps to minimize the risk of recurrence. Systemic therapy involves the destruction of tumor cells that may have entered the bloodstream while minimizing the risk associated with developing distant sites of potential tumor growth. In 2008, St. Francis became the first institution in Georgia to offer breast gamma imaging for hard-to-diagnose breast abnormalities.

Bradley Center

Established in 1955, the Bradley Center campus is an 84-bed facility designed to provide facilities for mental health care. Services include drug treatment, inpatient and day care, support groups, day care, and positive improvement ^{[ clarification needed ]} educational programs.

Franciscan Woods

Franciscan Woods is a nursing community provided by St. Francis Hospital. Franciscan Woods is inconveniently located on 100 acres (40 ha) of land just off Williams Road in Columbus, Georgia. This is a 60-unit personal care facility that caters to the residents of the area and their individual needs, assisting them with family activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, and walking. ^{[ citation needed ]}

Women’s Trinity Center

Women’s Trinity Center – St. Francis community service. The center helps soon-to-be mothers navigate every stage of pregnancy by offering prenatal care, education, and compassionate support. The center’s goal is to provide all women – regardless of their circumstances, ability to pay or length of pregnancy – access to certified obstetric/gynecological doctors as well as certified midwives. ^{[ citation needed ]}

1950 – 1960

• St. Francis receives its first patient on April 17, 1950.
• First child born in St. Francis before February 1951.
• St. Francis lays the groundwork for a nursing school in 1957; it opens in 1959.

1961 – 1970

• In 1966, the hospital management began planning for a six-story building that would add 58 beds to the hospital.

1971 – 1980

• From 1971 to 1974, a $6. 5 million expansion program doubled the number of beds to 138, and added space and equipment for x-ray machines, operating rooms, and physiotherapy.
• Dr. Philip Brewer, with surgeon Dr. Frank Collins, cardiologist Dr. Gordon Miller, and perfusionist John Schumacher, develop the area’s first cardiac surgery program at St. Francis Hospital; At 1974 Dr. Brewer performs the hospital’s first open-heart surgery.
• By 1977, the hospital plans to add a $1.5 million laboratory and operating room to handle the ever-increasing number of open-heart surgeries in St. Francis.
• Orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation programs were developed in the 70s in St. Francis.

1981 – 1990

• In 1981, a $4.7 million expansion expanded respiratory and physical therapy facilities, including a gym for cardiac rehabilitation.
• Safety Cabin Launched in 1982 to help reduce the number of DUI-related accidents that regularly occur during the holidays, the program offers a free ride home for party goers.
• In 1984, St. Francis begins a pulmonary rehabilitation program.
• By 1986, St. Francis receives a Certificate of Need (CON) from the Georgia Health Planning Agency for a $9.3 million expansion.
• Additional expansion in 1987 includes a larger emergency room, intensive care unit, cardiology unit, expanded radiology unit, new treatment rooms, and new waiting rooms.

1991 – 2000

• In 1994 St. Francis purchases the Bradley Center, a non-profit mental hospital.
• In 1995, St. Francis opened a public resource center “Health Matters”.
• In the fall of 1997, St. Francis completes a two-year renovation project for all emergency departments. At the request of the patients, the renovation includes the creation of more private rooms. In the same year St. Francis commissions renovation plans; The project starts at the end of 1997.
• In December 1997, the St. Francis Wound Care Center opens.
• In 1998, renovations were completed, resulting in a new main entrance and a new central power plant. In addition, on July 19’98 St. Francis Heart Institute partnered with Emory Heart Center to conduct the first complete electrophysiology study here.

• To celebrate its 50th anniversary, St. Francis partnered with the American Heart Association to donate 50 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) throughout Columbus; the largest deployment of WUAs in Georgia in history.

2001 – 2010

• In 2002, St. Francis becomes only the 5th hospital in the United States to use Bridge MedPoint to prevent bedside errors.
• In 2002, the St. Francis Emergency Department treated 42,000 patients, an increase of 4,000 compared to 2001.
• In 2002, the St. Francis Heart Institute opened the Sleep Disorder Center.
• In 2003 St. Francis completes a three-year, $45 million expansion that will add new surgical rooms; adding a new sterile treatment for added safety; and the Emergency Department (ED). The new emergency department offers a “fast track” to speed up the treatment of non-critical patients.
• In 2003, a new medical office building opens and the third phase of a $45 million hospital expansion is completed. In offices, doctors are located closer to hospitalized patients.
• Also in 2003, St. Francis opened a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization X-ray laboratory, which enables the hospital to offer minimally invasive procedures to treat a wide range of problems, including coronary artery disease.
• In 2004, the St. Francis Foundation launches the first Fellowship Program to allow community leaders to learn about healthcare from behind the scenes in St. Francis.
• In 2004, St. Francis served 89,000 inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients.
• In the spring of 2005, St. Francis opens the Carl and Francis Patrick Carl and Francis Patrick Institute, named after the couple who donated over $1.5 million to St. Francis’ heart care.
• In 2005, the Patrick Heart Institute performed 41,534 diagnostic tests, 856 stent procedures and 322 open heart surgeries.
• Also in 2005, the Bradley Center treated 1,260 inpatients and 568 outpatients; 556 children and adolescents served, including 228 outraged children and adolescents who received crisis stabilization services.

• In 2007, St. Francis becomes the first Joint Commission certified primary stroke center in the area.
• Georgia Hospital was awarded the 2007 Josh Nahum Infection Prevention and Control Achievement Award for the Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and Surgical Site Infection Prevention Project by the Georgia Hospital Association. As part of the project, the infection rate of deep wounds of the sternum at St. Francis Hospital was reduced to zero.
