Message from the Chairman of the Local Council
Karnei Shomron is an urban village located west of Gush Dan, in a wooded area with great views of the neighboring hills. At the foot of the village is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Israel – the Nahal Kana Nature Reserve.
Karnei Shomron consists of seven distinctive districts that create a kind of “cultural landscape” that combines a high standard of living in an urban-type settlement and village life in nature.
These “Cultural Landscapes” are filled with their unique content and diversity of self-expression, which is manifested in the system of values, in the originality of educational programs, in culture, in public life, in combining the life values of the settlement in general and its inhabitants in particular, in creating the appearance and the image of the settlement, its districts and self-government bodies, in their integration with the surrounding nature, in the prosperity of the settlement and its attractiveness and uniqueness, which allows it to become a regional center.
Today, Karnei Shomron has a population of approximately 11,000 and aspires to become one of the finest urban-type settlements in Israel, providing residents with a full range of educational, cultural and social services, social and religious services, family relations and health, construction , infrastructure, design and development, maintenance, security, maintenance of cleanliness and improvement of the entire village and its individual areas. In addition, the range of services includes educational, cultural and sports events held in the public and cultural center of Karnei Shomron. It has a sports center with all the necessary attributes, a youth center, a training center to improve the level of adult education, and, of course, there is a large selection of circles and sections for all ages, the Golden Age club and much, much more …
Karnei Shomron has been on the rise in recent years. A new modern school is being built and existing ones are being expanded, fast internet infrastructure is being laid, housing projects are being developed, roads and bike paths are being built, shopping centers, an amphitheater, a swimming pool, a new sports hall are being built . ..
Karnei Shomron Local Council focuses on improving interaction with residents and the provision of quality and professional services by all departments of the Local Council in various areas.
Residents can use the 106 call center and a website where they can get information about the village and answers to their questions.
Yours sincerely,
Yigal Lahav,
Chairman of the Local Council
Karnei Shomron Education: the largest educational center in Shomron
Department of Education
90 004 The Department of Education aims to create an educational and community environment in which maximum attention to the upbringing of children.
Department of Education
Full range of educational services:
Nursery
Karney Shomron has a full range of educational institutions for children from birth to maturity.
The nursery is accountable to the Department of Education and supervised by experienced teachers.
There are 7 nurseries in the village, staffed by professional and well-trained staff. The activities of these staff are supervised by a specialist specializing in this age group of children, as well as an early childhood education instructor.
The nursery has a child development screening program operated by the child development center that examines the development of children in the early stages. The nursery is visited by physiotherapists and speech therapists who train staff in the necessary skills and refer parents of children in need of assistance to the center.
Kindergartens:
There are 32 kindergartens in the village. We are convinced that all children should get everything they need, which is why in recent years we have opened 2 communicative kindergartens and 4 kindergartens for children with special needs.
Children with communication difficulties and children with special needs receive the necessary care in kindergartens from professional staff, as well as the opportunity to interact with ordinary kindergartens, which allows them to maintain close relationships between them.
Many kindergartens in the village have unique programs such as “Robotics”, “Forest Days”, “Scientific Garden”, “Theatre Garden” and many others.
The OP program is a program that aims to reduce disparities in the quality of children’s education. This program is designed to develop children’s ability to control emotions and the ability to express them, and also builds self-confidence. The program provides interaction with parents and encourages them to identify their child’s abilities in different areas. As part of the OR program, specialists in the field of child psychology are sent to kindergartens to work with children and parents.
Primary schools:
There are 4 primary schools in the village
Rimon School is a public school for the secular population.
Lapidim School for Girls, Barkai School for Boys and Masua School for Boys and Girls.
Primary schools in Karnei Shomron are undergoing major pedagogical changes to meet the demands of learning in the 21st century. This process is controlled by the best specialists in the field of education and this is done in accordance with all the requirements of modern pedagogy.
Many educational and educational projects are carried out in schools, the goal of which is to achieve the highest possible results in all areas of education.
Mamad Barkai School (1st to 8th grade):
The purpose of the school is to instill in students a love of God, piety, prayer and Torah study, as well as to develop personal and interpersonal study skills, striving for high achievement in all areas of education.
The curriculum in “Barkai” is based on the words of the sages: “Five-year-olds – Tanakh, ten-year-olds – Mishnah . ..”. Its goal is to give students knowledge about most of the books of the TANAKH, the children memorize together what they learn from the pages of the TANAKH, and this creates an atmosphere of friendly affection between them.
Barkai believes that the basis of learning should be the emotional component, which is a unifying and connecting link between students and the Torah and their spiritual world. The school emphasizes the strong connection between students and teachers, with an emphasis on the fact that this connection allows you to achieve the best results.
The study of the Torah in “Barkai” is considered the basis of learning and the basis for the study of other subjects, based on the saying “It is good if you adhere to one, but do not take your hand off the other.”
Masua School (1st to 6th grade):
This year the school is experiencing a real upsurge and is opening its doors to new students – boys and girls. Education will be conducted in separate classrooms for boys and girls.
The goal of the school is to educate a generation of believing students who strive to excel in religious and secular subjects, who want to contribute to the development of society and the state.
The school “went on an exciting journey” by joining an experimental program of innovative pedagogy that adapts to a rapidly changing reality. In the upcoming academic year, the school will move to a new modern building, adapted to the new requirements.
An individual curriculum adapted to the abilities of each student, instilling learning skills, developing research thinking, as well as communication skills – all this is part of the learning process associated with addressing the inner world of the student, developing his curiosity and motivation to study.
The school implements projects to introduce social and educational values into the minds of students.
There is also the so-called “peace room”, where individual and group psychological therapy of students is carried out under the supervision of a consultant psychologist, a representative of the local administration. In this room, individual and group psychological sessions are held with an emphasis on instilling communication skills.
The school has a Torah study program run by the school rabbi and alumni of Yeshivat Esder.
School “Lapidim” (1st to 6th grade):
School for girls who are trained in the spirit of holiness of the Torah. They are brought up in the spirit of decency and virtue, and at the same time with the desire to excel in all academic disciplines.
Education, especially at a young age, is not only the pursuit of good grades, but above all the education of moral principles in the minds of children, as well as the necessary learning skills, the desire to invest strength and energy in the learning process.
The atmosphere at school inspires girls, they are treated with understanding, respect for the internal processes that occur with each of them, but without violating the overall structure of the learning process and striving to achieve maximum results in school. The attitude towards girls is shrouded in love and faith.
New educational and upbringing projects are being introduced at the school.
The school has a program “PERAH”, in which the students conduct individual lessons with some students.
Rimon Secular School (1st to 6th grade):
The school provides comprehensive learning solutions for each student and provides them with the necessary educational tools to enter the future. “Rimon” is a boutique school with small classes, which allows more attention to individual learning. The school has built one-level and two-level classrooms, which have all the necessary teaching materials, with the help of which schoolchildren study independently, each in a suitable rhythm for themselves.
The school is committed to the ideals of Zionism and liberalism and Jewish traditions.
The pedagogical concept of the school is based on three principles:
schoolchildren receive basic general education subjects, such as language, mathematics, the basics of sociology, economics, and others.
Acquisition of self-study skills – such as: working together, the ability to accumulate knowledge in various areas and to properly allocate time.
acquisition of social skills – the ability to conduct a dialogue, make the right choice, the ability to behave in conflict situations.
As part of the general concept of the daily routine of students, the school has a canteen where students receive a hot lunch.
In addition, various clubs work at the school outside school hours.
There is also the so-called “peace room”, where individual and group psychological therapy of students is carried out under the supervision of a consultant psychologist, a representative of the local administration.
Among other things, the school is engaged in expanding the horizons of students and instilling different skills in the lessons of chess, agriculture, ball control, etc.
In recent years, we have noticed that many students are forced to leave the village for special education, so we have created a whole complex of kindergartens and special education classes so that students can stay within the village without being separated from their friends . In this way, they can integrate and continue to make friends and play with other children of their age without leaving the community.
Today in Karnei Shomron there are:
2 communicative kindergartens
4 kindergartens for children with developmental delays
3 communicative classes
9 classes for lagging children.
Children completing primary schools in the village continue their studies in accordance with their lifestyle:
- religious boys enter Yeshivat HaShomron located in the village
- religious girls continue their education at Ulpan “LAHAVA” in Kdumim
- secular students continue their studies at the secondary school in Alfei Menashe.
Yeshivat HaShomron:
Yeshiva Bnei Akiva in Samaria is an educational and educational center for the youth of Samaria. Yeshiva is characterized by an individual attitude to each student and a pleasant homely atmosphere.
We educate our students in piety, love for the Torah, high morals, right living and the desire to achieve academic success.
Social projects are carried out in the yeshiva, active social activities are carried out in various fields.
A significant part of the day in the yeshiva is devoted to the study of Gmara/Tanakh in accordance with the curriculum. Yeshiva has a wide range of specializations, such as:
automated control, theater, physics, biology, biotechnology, Israeli history, computer science, engineering and Arabic.
Yeshiva received an award from the Ministry of Education as one of the most successful schools in Israel due to the high percentage of student volunteers acting for the benefit of the community in various organizations such as “Ilan” (an organization that helps children who have experienced violence) “Nofshon Shomron” (an organization helping families with special needs) and others, as well as due to the high percentage of graduates who receive a matriculation certificate.
Yeshiva has special programs for high achievers and poor students.
