Day Care Centers Site
More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.
There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.
While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.
Our Most Recent Additions to the Child Care Provider Directory |

Wee Care Three809 Coldwater Rd |
While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority.
When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.
Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers
While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:
- Home child care or family childcare
- Child care services
- Preschool
- Nursery
Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.
Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.
Other Things to Think About
One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children.
As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in.
If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.
No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with. Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.
Switching Day Care Centers
Choosing Another Child Care Provider
So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.
First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.
Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.
Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.
In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!
Child Care Options for Low Income Families
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:
Extended Day Program
The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.
The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.
The Child Care Assistance Program
CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.
Head Start
Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.
Child Care Voucher Program
The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.
A wide variety of options is available for low-income childcare. Many stay-at-home moms also run small day care businesses in which they discount their services. There is a way to make working and taking care of your children affordable.

Our Teachers
Hello! I am Cynthia Smith, the founder of OV’s Angels on Earth Childcare. I named my program in honor of my extraordinary grandmother, OV Smith, who is my inspiration and my example of how to be a blessing in the community and beyond. I have worked with children of all ages and abilities throughout my career – and I am also a proud mother of two adult children and a grandmother! I’ve been running my own program for over a year. Prior to that, I studied Child Development, obtained a degree in Social Work. I have worked in the Mental Health as a wrap around Children’s case manager, child welfare children’s home, and in special education in public school. I have experience as a Parent Educator and Parenting group facilitator. I plan to obtain a Master’s in Social Work to further my professional development. Ms. Martin has joined us as a teacher, she studied at OBU and West LA College, child development education. She has experience as an Infant and toddler teacher in Child Care centers located in Texas and California. Ms. Martin brings creativity, patience, knowledge and tons of nurturing to our program. We look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family!

Sisters of mercy – earthly angels.
Assistance in paying for daily work. Collection closed!
Sisters of mercy go to their shifts in hospitals, boarding schools and patronage addresses, they take care of lonely old people and disabled children, help prepare for the acceptance of Holy Baptism and hold hands in the last minutes of life …
What the presence of a sister of mercy in an institution or at an address means can only be told by those who have understood from their own experience – without a sister, as without hands!
Sister in the cancer center. Support like a native
Sister of Mercy Tatyana Alexandrovna Gasheva has been serving at the Regional Oncology Center (Soboleva St., 29) since September 2014. Every day, from Monday to Friday, she goes to her six-hour shift, providing targeted assistance in the branches. Someone needs help after the operation, listen to someone, pray together with someone and prepare for the Sacraments. Tatyana Alexandrovna visits about 300 people a month on her rounds, and she meets with many of them more than once, as patients undergo long and serious treatment.

From the stories of a patient of the cancer center, Natalia:
– I was unexpectedly diagnosed with oncology. The first day in the hospital, I could not find a place for myself, wandering around the corridors. Sister of Mercy Tatyana came up to me, and we just started talking heart to heart. Then we met again, and again. Every day they talked about God, about sickness, about hope and how to survive this difficult period. Without the help and support of a sister of mercy, it would have been unbearably difficult for me to accept the disease and endure the treatment. She supported me, as a native person can support. At parting, we hugged tightly.
And there was another case: once a man told that as soon as he saw a sister of mercy in the corridor, his heart felt lighter and warmer.
Patronage. Without a sister, without hands!
When grandmother Anfisa Mikhailovna turned 87, she fell ill. She spent days on end in bed, lying or sitting, surrounded by pillows. And after a while, the mind began to fade. Today grandmother is 97 years old, and she cannot be left unattended even for a minute. Not only because she might fall, but because she is afraid to be alone and, like a frightened little child, she immediately starts calling her daughter loudly: “Valya! VALYA!!!”. Already the elderly daughter Valentina Valentinovna herself cannot even go to the grocery store when there is no one to leave her mother with.

About six months ago, a sister of mercy appeared in the house, Nadezhda Nikolaevna Schemeleva, one of the most experienced nurses in the patronage direction, so she gets the most difficult addresses. Five times a week, she comes to her addresses for three hours, and then relatives get the opportunity to go to the store, pay utility bills, apply for subsidies, and much more.
At this time, Nadezhda Nikolaevna will feed the ward, comb her hair, help to go to the toilet, wipe, and give a massage. And if there is time, they will also pray together.
Sister in a special orphanage. Gratitude without words
Sister of Mercy Svetlana Nikolaevna Gomzikova serves at a post where mostly recumbent or only crawling children (including probes), a few of them can pronounce individual words. The post is located in the “Mercy” department of the Yekaterinburg orphanage for mentally retarded children (Lyapustina St., 4). The approximate workload of Svetlana Nikolaevna is 80 hours a month and 50 children requiring your attention.

We don’t know how to convey the importance of participating in the life of these children sisters of mercy. Thank God that someone kind, attentive, caring approaches these children. She must be an ANGEL for them! And the main “review” from such children is a SMILE, sometimes lowing, sometimes singing, sometimes just a look. It would be great if the Service of Mercy had the financial opportunity to ensure the daily presence of the sisters of mercy at this post. And this requires funds.
Every week, calls are received to the phone of the dispatcher of the Service asking for help. As a rule, people with disabilities, elderly people with various diseases who cannot take care of themselves, as well as those who fell into the category of weakly protected segments of the population, whose relatives cannot financially provide the required daily care for their elderly relative, apply.

Today in the Orthodox Service of Mercy of the Yekaterinburg diocese, 45 sisters of mercy .
The Service of Mercy exists only through donations, and we will be glad to new philanthropists who want to share their help and thank the Lord for the blessings that He sends them. We are ready to help more people in need! And today it also depends on your help whether a sister of mercy arrives at a difficult address.
Sisters of mercy – earthly angels,
Kind and meek, a little sad,
You, who shed balm on sick hearts,
You are bright friends, given from God.
Prince Vladimir Paley (1915)

Alexander Korlyakov – Earth angel Schemamonk Gabriel of Kareisky
) and others, I can briefly fill this knowledge gap with the following. The factor called “time” is present only in our lives. He is not in heaven.
…morning. St. Petersburg. Military medical academy, surgical department. My wife is being sent home to die: oncology. The doctors did everything they could. I am next to my wife in the ward. A sudden call from Athos from Elder Gabriel. Blessing Svetlana: take tonsure as a nun with the name John in honor of John the Baptist. Blessing me: to go to the Resurrection Novodevichy Convent, buy full monastic vestments, and convey to the first hieromonk I met the order of the Holy Mountain about the tonsure of Svetlana as a nun. We did not have the slightest doubt to disobey the orders of the first confessor of Athos. I immediately called the rector of our parish, Fr. Andrei with a request to find out how a petition for tonsure is written. O. Andrei dictated the form to me over the phone. Taking paper and a pen from the nurse on duty, I wrote, and Svetlana signed this application. She herself could no longer write, since for the past month she could only afford a few sips of water a day. And no food due to bowel obstruction. Having taken the application, Fr. Andrei ran to an appointment with Metropolitan Barsanuphius. He was away, in Moscow. And none of the bishops could resolve this issue without him. In the meantime, I went to the Resurrection Novodevichy Convent for vestments. After praying, I bought what I needed. But, since his wife lost 20 kg, he was not sure about the size of the vestment. Prayer helped. When I brought everything home, the vestments fit my wife. On the way back from the monastery, I did not meet the hieromonk.
My wife, although she suffered a lot from pain, forbade me to get painkillers from the Ministry of Health. But I still went to the district hospital. I was met with a very cool reception, although the doctors promised to send their employee the next day to check if my wife was really so ill. When the doctor came the next day, she could not find her wife’s pulse and was amazed at her self-control. In horror, she immediately wrote the necessary conclusion, and I ran with him to the district hospital.
My wife called her spiritual father Hieromonk Ignatius at the monastery. I took his blessing for the tonsure and said goodbye to him. Thursday. I am sitting on the bed next to my wife, and she says: “I have to die tomorrow, my mother came and warned me. And the metropolitan will arrive on Monday. Tomorrow is only Friday. Give, Sasha, my vestments to some nun. As soon as she said this, a call from Athos, from Elder Gabriel. Again an order, already to me: “In the morgue, cover the wife’s body with a monastic robe, on top of the usual lay cover. To sing in church as a laywoman. She will be tonsured in Heaven by angels.” Having communed three hours before the exodus of the terrible Holy Mysteries of Christ, the wife departed to the Lord…
After my wife left, Elder Gabriel called me and said that her soul flew through all the ordeals without touching a single one (I later read from the Holy Fathers, this is given only to martyrs), took tonsure with the name of John and received from the Lord the right to pray for people. Her soul departed at 4 p.m., and on the very first night, the angel of John performed two miracles.
In the mortuary, on the third day after my appointment, I was given half an hour to say goodbye to my wife in private. She lay in the coffin like a sleeping person. I kissed her goodbye on the lips, and her eyelashes trembled. Her soul was there. Lest anyone say that it seemed to me, I can add that, being a car driver and owner of firearms, I regularly undergo the necessary examinations, and in general, neurasthenics are not taken to nuclear boats.
Shortly before Svetlana’s departure, the icon of the Savior in our iconostasis began to stream myrrh. Archpriest Andrei Shcherban was a witness to this. Myrrh poured from the icon for three years. When we were celebrating three years since the departure of our Svetochka, I gave veneration to the icon to everyone who came to remember her. After this incident, the course of the world stopped.
After the installation of the monument to Svetlana, she was reflected on the surface of the cross in a light gold-shining vestment in the very first photograph.
About the trip
with the icon to the elder
The Anzersk Icon of the Holy Tsarist Great Martyrs and Passion-Bearers was painted in Gatchina by order of a group of laity from the village of Vyritsa, on the initiative of nun Tikhona. We, the inhabitants of Vyritsa, have known each other for a long time, lived the same spiritual life. Many icons were painted according to our orders for various churches, including the Solovetsky Monastery. There, on the island of Anzer, there is the Golgotha-Crucifixion Skete, which stands on the same longitude with Jerusalem, where our Savior was crucified. A large icon was taken there. Then a small copy of this icon was painted for Elder Gabriel, which I was instructed to take.
Miracles with the icon began immediately. When I, having taken the icon from the nun Tikhona, returned to my house in Vyritsa, the Monk Seraphim of Vyritsky met me from his icon with a blessing gesture, as priests do. It was a miracle. Encouraged by his blessing, I set off.
I have been to Athos many times, climbed to its summit three times and even spent the night there once. Many temptations happened along the way, but with the help of God I overcame them. Officially, entry to Athos was closed due to the approaching arrival of high-ranking officials from Russia. But with the help of the Mistress of the Mountain, the Queen of Heaven, I passed. For three days in Karyes I could not find an interpreter to take me to the elder. And only after praying well to the Mistress of the Mountain, the Queen of Heaven, I found a guide.
The elder greeted me kindly, kissed me and baptized everything. He immediately took me to his cell. I was happy and a little embarrassed. I understood that he, like an earthly angel, knew all my questions and was only waiting for answers from him. He gave him an icon, which he kissed and accepted with gratitude. At the same time, already on his own initiative, he presented him with an icon of St. Seraphim, Vyritsky miracle worker. The elder handed me several icons of St. Porfiry Kavsokalivit, Equal-to-the-Apostles Cosmas of Aetolia. I asked the translator’s blessing to take a picture of both of us. The elder blessed. He sat down and deepened in prayer. I showed him a photograph of the reflection of the nun Joanna on her cross. He confirmed that it was her and said: “This is a great miracle!” The conversation flowed, as it were, on two levels, one through the interpreter, and the second at the mental level. Moreover, I received much more information through the second channel than through the first. When the conversation ended, we said goodbye and left with an interpreter, unusually inspired.
With earthly angels, on the one hand, it is extremely easy, but on the other, it is difficult. It is difficult because they often speak in a conventional language, which is also the language of the Bible. Often the meaning of what they said is not immediately revealed. I have met twelve earthly angels in my life. Some of them are open to people, others are not open to everyone. They are united by the fact that they do nothing and do not speak according to their own will, but only by God’s blessing. St. Seraphim of Sarov, and Joseph the Hesychast, and many others spoke about this. But communication with them, regardless of whether you understand them immediately or not, is very beneficial. The elder did not answer some of my questions, which I regretted. Then I realized that he had answered, but in conventional mental language.
Let me give you an example. Who understands – well, who does not understand, then he does not need it. Leaving the elder, we, inspired by the conversation with him, decided to go to a monastery where it was impossible to go. They didn’t accept it, that’s all. The barrier stood far from the monastery, and no one was allowed through it. But a miracle, they let us in! We are going, the car is good, it runs briskly. Suddenly a deer jumps out onto the road and runs in front of us.
Runs for a long time, does not let himself be overtaken, is not afraid of a car. And I understand that this is the answer to one of my questions to the elder, to which, as it seemed to me, I did not receive an answer in his cell. Having run in front of the car for quite a long time, at one of the turns the deer flew up onto a rock and disappeared into the thickets…
Whoever wants to learn more about earthly angels and who is too lazy or has no time to read Ignatius Brianchaninov, Theophan the Recluse and others, I can recommend a small book published by the Sretensky Monastery: “Porfiry Kavsokalivit”. The best example from there is the return of an American spacecraft to Earth.
Look at Elder Gabriel. He is sitting on Mount Athos, but he knows what we are talking about with my wife before her dormition in St. Petersburg. And he knows what we need to do. Of course, I was killed by the forthcoming departure of my wife from earthly life, and just like her, I did not know where she would end up, how she would go through ordeals, how to help her. And then the elder informs me that not only everything is fine, but more than that. Now you, fool, your angel John will help. And others too. And there are more than a hundred such testimonies from different people.
A simple example of how the angel of John helped me just recently. I, descending from the roof of our house in Vyritsa, fall from a height of four meters with my back and head down (a metal ladder broke). I’m almost 70 years old, imagine my reaction. With bulging eyes, convulsively clinging to the stairs, I fly towards my death. John’s angel takes my hands off the ladder, flips me 180 degrees in the air, and I land like a cat on all fours. Instead of death, a slight fright. I don’t know if she saved me alone or together with my guardian angel. But a fact is a fact.
Elder Gabriel prays for Russia in front of the icon of the most powerful intercessors for her in Heaven. Why not pray for Greece and the whole world? Yes, the world has already fallen, and Greece, and Athos as well. On what did the Orthodox world stumble? Once I read from St. John Chrysostom that the main sin on earth is the love of money. I, as a naval officer, naively believed that the main sins were drunkenness and fornication. An no. Now I see that John Chrysostom was right. Cosmas of Aetolia, Equal-to-the-Apostles, spoke about this 200 years ago, whose icon was given to me by Elder Gabriel.
Love of money is like air around us. And no one is shy anymore! Anyway, let’s not talk about politics and corruption. About the corruption and stupidity of children in schools and institutes, too. There was a prayer, for myself and for the country.

10 common myths about angels
Art and folklore made the image of angels very far from the original
Angels are mentioned many times in the Bible. They are always present at the most important, epic events. Also, angels have occupied a prominent place in art for centuries: from cute cherubs in Renaissance paintings to winged weeping angels on tombstones.
Most of our ideas about who angels are and what they look like are wrong – at least if we take the Bible as a basis, and not art, which brought many new features to the image.
1. You don’t have your own guardian angel
We’ve all heard stories of people being saved by a mysterious stranger. Or the words of people who are sure that some supernatural being is taking care of them. It is gratifying to think that someone is immeasurably smarter and knows better than us how to guide a person along the right path and save him from all troubles. But there is nothing in the Bible about the fact that each person has his own guardian angel.
Several passages do speak of guardian angels. For example, the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 18:10:
“Do not despise any of these little ones. For I tell you that the angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.”
The passage is often interpreted as referring to angels who watch over children or over all faithful Christians in the world, but there is no word that everyone has their own “personal” angel.
The idea of personal guardian angels is relatively recent. It is the product of the slow evolution of history. In the Middle Ages, there were many stories about saints who met with angels, and the angels allegedly protected them. Gradually, they turned into stories where angels came to help a person in everyday life – this was discussed in the 18th and 19th-m centuries. And by the 20th century, people already believed in a guardian angel who stands behind every person’s shoulder and protects him from harm.
2. Cherubim are not angels with baby faces at all
We all know what cherubim look like – it is their images that are most often found in art. These are small naked children: charming, plump and winged. Such angels were invented relatively recently by artists, and real biblical cherubs are much more unusual.
Cherubim are very specific angels. God has brought them so close to himself that they serve directly to him and are not messengers to mankind. In the Old Testament, they are mentioned quite often, and they cannot be called charming.
According to Genesis, two cherubim were ordered to guard the tree of life. Ezekiel, chapter 1:5-11, gives a full description of them. According to Scripture, cherubim looked like humans, with a few exceptions. Their legs ended in calf hooves. Each had four wings that hid their human hands and four faces. When they moved, their faces never turned. On the front, the face was human, on the right, the muzzle of a lion, on the left, a bull or ox, and behind, an eagle.
Every cherub burned as if on fire. Further, Ezekiel describes them as a kind of living and intelligent God’s chariot, as a force subject only to God. In his vision, God rides in a chariot with cherubim acting as wheels. Four cherubs stand together, personifying the strength of a lion, the freedom of an eagle, the heaviness and earthiness of a bull, and the wisdom of the greatest divine creation – man. All these beings are the first in their spheres. Each cherub covers the body with one pair of wings and spreads out the others. The wings themselves are covered with eyes.
Very far from cute naked kids, right?
3. Cherubim are not necessarily kind
Cherubim are always charming in pictures. A smile plays on their lips, wings flutter behind their backs. They also usually play harps. Biblical cherubs are not so cute. For example, consider the Throne of Mercy, the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. We all saw her – thanks to Indiana Jones.
The two figures on the Throne of Mercy are cherubs whose faces and bodies are hidden by two pairs of wings. Other pairs of cherubs are drawn to each other. Thus they form a throne, and according to Scripture, the Throne signifies the potentially deadly presence of an angry God. Every year, the high priest held a ceremony: he sprinkled the Throne of Mercy with the blood of sacrificial animals in order to appease God and turn away his wrath for another year.
In order to approach the Throne of Mercy without fear, another specific ritual had to be performed. It was believed that any deviation from the ritual was fatal to the priest, who would be foolish enough not to treat him with due respect. Every year the cherubim were to receive a blood sacrifice. The ceremonies stopped only after the crucifixion of Christ – his sacrifice and blood were enough to satisfy the cherubim forever.
4. People do not become angels
This happens a lot in movies, but there is no evidence in the Bible that good, righteous people become angels when they die. A couple of passages even point to the impossibility of this.
Both angels and humans were created by God, but they serve different purposes. Hebrews 1:14 clearly states that angels are created to lend a helping hand to those who believe in God. And in the Book of Genesis, chapter 1:26, it is written that angels are spiritual beings capable of taking not only human, but also any form at the will of God.
The book of Peter says that angels are former righteous:
heaven: the wisdom upon which the angels long look.”
The Spirit is preaching to mankind, and the angels want them to be able to hear the same revelations. And these angels were not once people.
5. Angels are neither male nor female
Countless paintings depict male angels appearing before people in biblical scenes, and graveyard statues at graves are often depicted as mourning female angels. But there is not a single word in the Bible about female angels.
Angels are not human, they are not subject to the same biological restrictions. Things like sex and gender are generally alien to angels. But throughout the Bible, angels appear as men. Even the Greek word “angelos” itself in the New Testament is a masculine word, and it does not have a feminine form.
Only two of the Lord’s angels have names, Michael and Gabriel, and the others are always referred to as simply “he. ” Once in the Bible, a female winged creature is mentioned. In Zechariah chapter 5:9, such women appear in a series of visions, where there is also a flying scroll. Nothing says they are angels.
The very idea of a female angel appeared centuries after the Bible. Until about the fourth century, there was no artistic representation of angels (at least not known), because Christianity tried to distance itself from the customs of worshiping other religions with “images and idols.” After angels appeared in art, they may have been associated with winged creatures from other mythologies, such as Nike and other pagan goddesses.
6. Angels don’t have haloes
Imagine a biblical angel. Most likely, he will have fluttering clothes, wings and a halo. But the biblical descriptions never mentioned that angels have halos. Moreover, the Bible does not mention halos at all. The closest equivalent to something even remotely similar to the halo that became the “calling card” of religious art was the mention of rays of light emanating from several biblical characters – Christ and Moses.
Nimbus first appeared in art only in the fourth century. Initially, it was only on the images of Christ sitting on the throne. Gradually, the halo became a symbol of goodness, and they began to always draw it with Christ and angels. By the sixth century, everyone, including saints, “worn” a halo.
Christians did not invent the halo, but rather adopted it. The idea goes back to the ancient kings of Syria and Egypt, who wore halos as crowns to emphasize their connection with the deities and the divine glow surrounding them. In ancient Rome, for example, they liked to describe emperors in rays and crowns. Christian artists simply borrowed the symbol and it stuck.
7. Angels do not have two wings
The artists added not only haloes to the angels, but also wings. More precisely, two wings. There is nothing in the biblical texts about this either.
Diptera angels are almost never spoken of, although angels are often called “flying”. For obvious reasons, the ability to fly is associated with the presence of wings – two, as we are used to. Seraphim, who occupy one of the highest places in the angelic hierarchy, stand before God’s throne and literally burn with love for their Lord, setting an example for everyone else. In the book of the prophet Isaiah, it is written that each seraphim has six wings. Only two wings are needed to fly. Two more wings cover the face, and the third pair covers the legs. Cherubim are usually described as beings with four wings.
In early Christian art, angels are almost always depicted descending from heaven on wings. One of the earliest examples is angels on Roman sarcophagi. Thus, the famous biblical scene is depicted on the sarcophagus of the Roman politician Junius Basus: an angel appears to Abraham and tells him to sacrifice his son. There is not a word about wings in the Bible, but there are wings on the sarcophagus. The image was made in 359 AD, which means that around that time there was a general change in ideas about how angels look. By the end of the century, angels were no longer represented without two wings. Moreover, they have since been strongly associated with the emergence of winged pagan gods and goddesses.
8. There is no Angel of Death in Christianity
The angel of death is a majestic image. Imagine: a being beautiful with dark, otherworldly beauty, whose only purpose is to take other people’s lives. Several passages in the Bible, including the Passover story in Exodus 11:4-5 and 2 Samuel 19:35, mention angels taking human life. Indeed, in the Book of Kings, an angel claimed the lives of 185,000 Assyrians. But in the modern view, the angel of death is death itself. In the Bible, the angels who take lives do more than just that. They simply carried out the command of God – one of many.
In addition, Jewish traditions reject the very idea of an angel of death. Only God, and not angels, has power over life and death. But in the end, the image leaked into the official religious canons, and the angel of death became known as Samael. Mentions of him are at first rather insignificant, it is easy to even forget where they appeared. During the Amoraic period (AD 220-370), there were other references to Samael as the angel of death. In the original texts, the angels turn into vengeful and deadly messengers of heaven, and Samael puts on the mantle of the angel of death.
Soon Samael moved from the religious canon to folklore and became an independent thinking being. He no longer does God’s will. He now hunts and takes lives at will. The body of this Samael from folklore is completely covered with eyes so that nothing escapes his attention. In Jewish tradition, he is sometimes associated with Cain: it is believed that it was Samael who inspired Cain with the desire to kill his brother and gave him the strength to do so.
9. Gabriel is an angel of the lowest rank
Gabriel appears four times in the Bible. One of the references to him says that he comes every Christmas – this is the secret of his popularity among people. It was he who appeared to Mary and told that she had been chosen to be the mother of the Son of God. In his other appearances, he also acts as a messenger. He is defined as an archangel, not just an ordinary old angel. It is important.
Archangels in the heavenly hierarchy occupy a position above the angels, but other spiritual beings also stand above them. In fact, there are a lot of angelic ranks.
The Bible says that the angelic hierarchy has three levels – spheres. There are three more subgroups in each area. The first sphere, which is closest to God, includes seraphim (this is the highest angelic rank), cherubim and thrones – all inseparable from the word of God. In the second sphere there are dominations that teach people to control feelings and instruct earthly rulers, authorities that work miracles, and forces that protect good people from devilish temptations.
In the last, lowest and farthest sphere from God, the archons (they are the beginnings) stand above all. Archons govern other angels of lower rank. Each earthly kingdom has its own archon in charge of ruling over kings. He must ensure that worthy people who rule in the name of God become kings and leaders. Directly below them are archangels – divine messengers. Such, for example, is Gabriel. Even lower are the angels, who appear to people more often, perform minor miracles and help if necessary.
And even lower in the heavenly hierarchy are people — they are the farthest from God. From this point of view, Gabriel, one of the few biblical angels who has a name and who appears in scenes at the manger of the baby Jesus around the world, is even below average.
10. The Flood happened because of the fall of angels
Angels almost always appear to us as good beings — messengers and servants of God. Even when they sow death, they are doing God’s will. But in one of the interpretations of biblical texts, angels are to blame for the global flood (at least in part). And the flood destroyed all mankind except for Noah and his family.
According to the Book of Genesis, before the flood, the Earth was home not only to mankind, but also to beings called Nephilim (or giants). The Nephilim were born of “sons of God” and “daughters of men.” One of the most common interpretations is that the “sons of God” were angels who came to the earthly kingdom and stayed there for the pleasures they found. Jude 1:6 speaks of the Nephilim as those who left their lawful home and went to Earth, and in Genesis they appear as the offspring of human women and divine beings.
There is a debate among Christians. In Jewish theology, everything is much simpler. When God saw the corruption that had taken possession of his creatures, Azael and Samsaveel voluntarily went to Earth to prove that people themselves are responsible for their own destiny. On Earth, they not only experienced earthly pleasures forbidden for angels: Samsaveel also violated one of the most sacred oaths – he revealed the true name of God to a mortal woman. He was not allowed to return to heaven, and the woman, Ishtar, was lifted up to heaven and left among the stars. Samsabeel repented of his deed, but remained between the Earth and the sky. In other versions, as many as 18 angels had intercourse with women and produced offspring.
But in both traditions, it was worldly sin that forced God to destroy everything he created, including the Nephilim giants, the descendants of his beloved angels.

Angels incarnate have the classic external features of angels, usually depicted in icons and paintings. Both Men and women belonging to this “estate” are equally similar to these heavenly creatures. For their sweet faces and good disposition, those around them call them “angels”, not realizing that this is the case.
Pamela says: “I am often told that I look like an angel. As a rule, I hear this from those people who do not know anything about my work and about my love for angels. Many people with the gift of clairvoyance report huge wings “continuing” the shoulder blades of the Incarnate Angels, and the radiance of white light enveloping their bodies.
Incarnated Angels, like the Earth Angels of other kingdoms, feel the need to somehow use this radiance, to give it an outlet, even if they fear becoming an object of ridicule or being rejected. Here is what one of them said: “Some part of me wants sometimes that I fold my wings and hide my true nature. Usually this desire arises when I do not quite cope with my healing work or do not have time to complete something on time.
Yes, when the Incarnate Angels “spread their wings and fly”, it is a sight to behold. Judy, a representative of this kingdom, realized how important it was for her to tell all her fears to her guardian angel. “And then I realized that I had finally embarked on the right path. All the desires of my heart became completely clear and understandable to me when I opened myself to the angels and accepted their help. Now I won’t renounce it for anything. I clearly see the purpose of my whole life and the path that I should follow. I have lived in constant struggle for many years, and now most of the time I feel like I am riding on a cloud!”
Life Mission of Incarnated Angels
Often Incarnated Angels choose those professions that give them more opportunities to help people. They become excellent consultants, therapists, healers (both in traditional and non-traditional medicine), teachers, and tourism workers. Most Incarnate Angels prefer individual work to interaction with large groups of people. They become excellent specialists in large companies, where the management system is aimed at caring for a particular person. But if the leadership behaves rudely and unethically, then the Incarnate Angels have a very difficult time in such organizations.
Advice and Suggestions for Incarnated Angels
If you are an Incarnated Angel, remember a few simple rules and your life on Earth will become much easier and happier.
– Put on energy and light protection before helping someone. This will reduce the need for additional food, reduce the threat of extra pounds, with which representatives of your body often try to “cover” themselves.
– Do not rush to answer “yes”. Instead of “automatically” agreeing and responding to any request for help, give yourself time to think and even meditate about whether this request is really part of your mission and what you yourself want. When someone asks you for help, say “I need to think about it” or “I’ll tell you later if I can help.” And then people will treat you with more respect, because they will see that you do not forget about yourself.
– With the help of affirmations (positive statements), get rid of the habit of constantly apologizing. Incarnated angels ask for forgiveness even when they have done nothing wrong. This habit is rooted in their desire to make everyone happy and content, even if it means taking the blame on someone else. When speaking about yourself, others, life situations, use only positive statements, and then you will feel happier and bring more joy to others.
– Pay attention to physical activity, while choosing cardio-stimulating exercises. They will help relieve stress and cope with excess weight , in addition, they will be very good for the heart.
— Find a balance between giving and receiving. Do not forget to constantly do something good for yourself.
– Don’t be afraid to break the rules that get in the way of your mission. Try to keep track of whether you have any personal, internal beliefs, rules that you follow strictly, for example: “I’d rather not strive for success, otherwise people will envy me and thereby I will hurt them.” Ask yourself the question more often: “Does this rule help me in the implementation of my main mission, or, on the contrary, does it interfere?”
– Do not take everything on yourself. Seek help from others without apologizing for your requests.
– Accept with gratitude the good that other people do for you. Let me help you, give gifts and compliments.
– Play . Unleash your inner child, let him fool around, frolic, show his creative abilities.
Incarnate Elementals
This group is the easiest to recognize. The appearance of the Incarnate Elementals is quite consistent with their name: they look like fairies, elves, gnomes, incarnated animals and unicorns. In addition to guardian angels, which everyone has, representatives of this category also have spirits that protect them.
Quite often, Incarnated Elementals are red-haired (with a reddish tinge, golden chestnut or golden blond), with Celtic features – ruddy and freckled.
Angel or Elemental?
Perhaps reading the previous forums, you have recognized the Incarnate Angel in yourself. And now it seems to you again that the description of the Elementals also fits. And you can’t decide which group you belong to. Then give answers to a few questions that will help determine which kingdom you come from:
1. How do I feel about the established rules? If you are an Incarnate Angel, then strive to follow the rules and get angry at those who break them. If you are an Incarnate Elemental, then you hate any regulatory postulates and consider those who observe them to be boring.
2. Is there a mischievous gleam in my eyes? Elementals love to joke and frolic, always looking for a reason to have fun; often they become professional comedians. Incarnated Angels are polite and serious. If you can’t decide whether you are an Elemental or an Angel, ask a close friend if there is a twinkle of mischief and defiance in your eyes? These traits are characteristic only of Elementals (if in various situations you hesitate, choosing whether to be “bad” or “good”, you may be some kind of mixture of Angel and Elemental – we will talk about this in more detail in chapter six).

description, photos, testimonials, planting and care
This rose is a selection product of the Kordes company. She was born in 1984 and has been haunting the minds of rose growers around the world ever since.
Description of the Angel rose
This variety impresses in many ways at once. Her flowers are semi-double, about 6 cm in diameter, pale pink inside and with a rich crimson hue outside on the outer side of the petals. The corollas never fully open and are in the shape of a deep bowl, which is very rare in roses. The flowers are collected in large dense brushes from 5 to 20 pieces each. And it happens that in the brush and 27 flowers! Each flower lasts about 2 weeks, a separate brush blooms up to 3 weeks, and the bush as a whole – a whole month. Her aroma is weak (1), with fruity notes.
This rose belongs to the old romantic nostalgic varieties, which are now very popular all over the world. It belongs to the floribunda group.
The size of the bushes of this rose depends on the climate. In the northern cool regions, it reaches 80 – 150 cm in height and 80 cm in diameter. Her shoots are upright. But in the warm southern regions, it is completely different – its shoots reach a length of 4 m, and sometimes 6 m (2) and become flexible, in the form of an arc. There it is used as a climbing. In any case, the bushes are very elegant, with an abundance of bright green glossy leaves.
Angela is resistant to disease, very unpretentious, winters well and grows rapidly. She feels great both in the harsh cold climate and on the sea coasts.

Reviews of the Angel rose
– Angela is one of those varieties that, with good care, can become practically “continuous flowering”, shares his impression Oksana Borsieva, owner of the rose garden, where more than 100 varieties of roses grow. – You rarely see a rose that combines the beautiful shape of a bush, enviable growth power, profusion of flowering and excellent health. An angel consists of nothing but virtues! And the exquisite form of its flowers: simple cup-shaped with golden stamens – captivates at first sight. And there are hundreds of these flowers!
– Angela is really good in all respects, – agrees agronomist-breeder Svetlana Mikhailova. – Beautiful, unpretentious, with excellent health, and besides, it winters well – this combination of qualities is actually not so common. Even a beginner can easily handle this rose.
Angel rose planting
Angel rose looks great in a single planting – it can be placed in the most visible place. But it is no less good in the rose garden. And, of course, no one has canceled the classic combination of this rose with clematis and aromatic herbs.
– And it is better to choose seedlings for planting with a closed root system, that is, in containers – they can be planted from spring to autumn, and if you buy a rose at the time of flowering, you will know for sure that this is Angela, and not regrading, – advises agronomist Svetlana Mikhailova. – And such seedlings always take root better.
Angel rose maintenance
Watering. Roses love infrequent but plentiful watering. In summer, 1 watering per week is enough for them, and the norm is about 1. 5 buckets per bush. But with the onset of autumn, watering should be reduced – watered after 2 weeks and about 7 liters per bush.
Top dressing. For most varieties of roses, they should be abundant, frequent, but they are all universal. In the first year, if fertilizers were applied to the planting pit, additional feeding is not needed – they begin to be given from the second year (3). You can find a detailed diagram in our article.
Cutting. Angel rose belongs to the floribunda group, and pruning for these varieties is universal: in the spring, as soon as you remove the shelter, shorten all the shoots, leaving 3-4 buds on each.
– Leave only the strongest, thickest shoots, – recommends agronomist Svetlana Mikhailova. – Cut out too thin completely – they greatly thicken the bush, take food from the plant, but there is little sense from them – most often they do not bloom at all.
And, of course, you need to cut out all the dry branches (4).
Popular questions and answers
We talked about the Angel rose with agronomist-breeder Svetlana Mikhailova – she answered the most popular questions of summer residents.
Where to buy an Angel rose?
Good places are specialized garden centers that sell only plants and accessories for them (not hypermarkets!), rose nurseries, exhibitions and private collections.
Do not try to buy roses in the market and along the roads – there you will surely be deceived. And make it a rule to take only flowering roses – so you will be sure of the variety.
How to propagate the Angel rose?
Rose Angela can be propagated by cuttings or by grafting on wild rose – these are the most reliable ways. It does not reproduce by seeds.
Is it possible to grow an Angel rose in the Urals and Siberia?
Yes, it is quite winter hardy and can grow in regions with severe winters. But, of course, with good cover.
