I have had a really wonderful experience with Pouch. I started off taking my girls there sporadically when I had a doctor’s appointment or errands to do. Then I switched to sending them there consistently instead of having a nanny, because my girls love going there so much and it gives me the ability to work from home. I have never once worried about their safety or welfare – it’s like the feeling when I leave my kids with family. I know that Lau will take care of them as if they were her own. In addition, the space that the children play in is fantastic: great toys, crafts, activities – and even a music class!
I would highly recommend Pouch for drop in or ongoing childcare needs.

My son has been going to Pouch for a few months now. We started with just a couple o hours here and there. But once I saw how comfortable and content my son was, I started to leave him there for longer stretches of time. He loves Laura because she’s a very attentive, warm and caring person. It’s very obvious that she cares about him a lot. He also enjoys attending the daily morning classes that are always fun and educational. I can run errands and do work knowing he’s having a great time with Laura and other kids.
I know my son is in safe hands when he’s at Pouch.

Moving into another city and being away from our family is certainly challenging already, but add becoming a parent and it can feel overwhelming.
Life gets busier every day and finding support from someone who you trust and someone who nurtures and genuinely cares for your kid while you get things done is a blessing. Talking about work, the flexibility that Pouch offers has helped our family to accommodate our ever changing schedules, while offering a safe and fun space for our daughter where we have found a family.
I’m happy to see that our daughter is excited to go to Pouch, but most importantly, she comes back with a smile everyday, for all of this I’m grateful beyond words.
Thank you Laura for everything you do, every single day, for every smile and for always going above and beyond. To everyone: go play and learn at Pouch!
Texas Expands Investigation into Parent Complaints Denied Access to Medical Records of Their Teenage Children – ET

Texas is investigating allegations that hospitals and health record companies are denying parents access to their children’s data when they turn 13.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Nov. 17 that he is expanding his investigation into Epic Systems Corporation, a Wisconsin-based electronic health record company.
“Too many companies are taking orders from the radical left, especially when it comes to their all-out attack on family values and parental rights,” Paxton said.
“Texas law prohibits any hospital or entity from denying parents access to their children’s medical records, and we will ensure that the law is enforced. ”

His office has sent a letter to Epic Systems demanding a civil investigation into child privacy and parents’ access to the medical records of their children, with a deadline of November 30.
On October 27, Paxton announced an investigation into the Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System, which appears to prevent parents from accessing medical records for minors as young as 13.
Memorial Herman responded that they are not aware of any specific patient complaints about access to records and that their policy is consistent with federal and state law.
The Texas Hospital has said it will work with the Attorney General’s Office to establish the facts and appropriately resolve the matter.
Epic Systems did not respond to a request for comment at the time of this article’s publication.
Parental rights are a growing concern across the country as schools allow more sexual material in libraries and even hide a child’s gender identity from parents.
Hospitals that offer “gender-affirming care”, such as Vanderbilt University Medical Center, have faced backlash after being exposed for giving teenagers access to surgery and medication in an attempt to change gender.

State Representative Steve Toth said denying parents access to a child’s medical records violates state law and HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
“This is the law. You can’t make up this nonsense on the fly,” he said.
Toth said the Biden administration is promoting a false title IX privacy right for minors, which protects people from discrimination.
After Biden took office, the US Department of Education changed its interpretation of the anti-discrimination law to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

World’s most stupid laws-2 – Vlast – Kommersant

…
Regular readers of “Authority” will remember that in Mongolia, women are required to appear on the street bare-breasted, and in Britain, anyone who places a stamp with the image of the monarch with the adhesive side up (see #5 of 6) can be charged with treason. February 2001). “Vlast” continues the story about the stupid laws in force in different countries of the world. This time it’s about America.
Citizens have the right
Ice cream is strictly regulated in parts of America. So, in Alabama there is a special ban on carrying an ice cream cone in the back pocket of your trousers |
Americans, and it is generally recognized, have the broadest rights. For example, in Alabama, in Jasper County, a husband has every right to hit his wife with a stick, provided that the diameter of the stick does not exceed the diameter of the husband’s thumb. In Los Angeles, California, husbands have the right to beat their wives with belts if the width of the belt does not exceed 12 cm (otherwise, the consent of the wife is required), and in Arkansas it doesn’t matter what the husband beats his wife with, as long as it happens no more than once per month. In fairness, it is worth saying that the laws were passed hundreds of years ago and were unusually progressive in their time – in many states the right of a husband to beat his wife was not at all limited. Then they just forgot to cancel.
In Indiana, parents have every right not to pay for the treatment of their children if they can prove that they prayed for their recovery. True, you will have to prove it in court: refusing to pay hospital bills continues to be considered a crime. However, the law specifically stipulates two cases that exempt both from punishment and from the obligation to pay for treatment: lack of money and the case when “parents, in accordance with legitimate religious practice, provided treatment and care in spiritual ways. ”
Laws strictly regulate the relationship between husband and wife. In Alabama, a husband has the right to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb, in California with a belt no more than 12 cm wide, and in Arkansas with anything, but no more than once a month |
In Pennsylvania, landowners are allowed to fish on their territory without a license, but Tennessee is a gourmet paradise: everything that a citizen has hit with his car is allowed to be eaten here. The law is more than two hundred years old, and it was not adopted based on motorists. However, after the advent of cars and highways, the law “On carrion on the roads”, which allowed the consumption of dead animals found on the roads, has not changed, and therefore the one who knocks down a person, according to the letter of the law, has every right and is even obliged to eat it “before sunset.”
In Texas, the process of concluding a marriage is unusually facilitated: it is enough to introduce a woman to your acquaintances as a wife three times, as she automatically becomes one. Michigan has the most liberal gun acquisition rules: any resident over the age of 12 has the right to buy a gun or revolver. In Utah, possession of nuclear explosive devices is not prohibited – only they cannot be used: there is a special law prohibiting the detonation of nuclear devices, while atomic, hydrogen or neutron bombs are not included in the list of dangerous types of weapons prohibited from possession.
Personal freedoms in the United States are also unusually wide: for example, in Oregon it is legal to smoke marijuana, but only at home. In West Virginia, male citizens are allowed to copulate with any animal weighing less than 18 kg, and in Clawson, Michigan, pigs, cows, horses, goats, and chickens are allowed to sleep. True, only the owners of these animals can do this. Of course, there are no special laws on this matter, but there are court decisions that have not been canceled by anyone, which recognize this practice as completely legal.
The rights of pet owners in the US are well protected. For example, in Hollywood, no one can forbid a farmer to lead up to two thousand sheep along the famous Hollywood Boulevard; in San Francisco, horse owners can leave manure at intersections, as long as the pile of manure does not exceed two meters in height. And in Florida, it is illegal to charge more money to park an elephant than to park a car.
Citizens are obliged
The Arkansas River also flows in the legal field. In Oklahoma, it’s called Arkansas, and it can be bottled any way you like. In Arkansas, it is called Arkanso and is prohibited from climbing above the Main Street Bridge in the state capital, Little Rock |
In Pennsylvania, when meeting with horse-drawn vehicles, the driver of the car is required to hide the car under a blanket. If this does not help and the horse still looks scared, the owner of the car must take it apart and hide the parts in the bushes. The laws passed at a time when cars were rare and easily dismantled, no one bothered to repeal. In California, motorists must ensure that nothing but a car is in their garages. In Washington State, under the Crime Prevention Act, a motorist with criminal intent is required to stop at the city limits and report his arrival to the city police chief. If he is arrested for a crime, then the violation of this law will be considered as an aggravating circumstance and additional evidence of guilt.
In Pennsylvania, it is dangerous for motorists to encounter horse-drawn vehicles. In this case, the law requires them to stop and cover the car with a blanket, and if this is not enough for the horse, dismantle the car and hide it in the bushes |
The duties of American motorists are generally very onerous. In Pennsylvania, for example, drivers of cars moving at night on rural roads are required to stop every mile, fire a flare, and continue driving only after ten minutes, making sure that there are no pets or livestock on the road. In South Carolina, any owner of a non-drawn vehicle is required to stop 30 meters before crossing an intersection, get out of the car, fire a gun, and only then continue driving. In Ohio, motorists are required to honk whenever they pass another vehicle. However, no one is penalized for violating these rules.
In their idiocy, laws on motorists are not inferior to acts relating to animals and “joined” drunkards. In the city of Denver, Colorado, in accordance with the decision of the city council of the city of Sterling, cat owners are required to provide their pets with parking lights for night walks. In North Dakota and Oklahoma, citizens are required to take off their shoes before going to bed. These rules were adopted as part of the fight against drunkards and parasites 200 years ago: if a person sleeping on the street was wearing boots, then he could be detained for drunkenness on the street. In addition, in Oklahoma, citizens carrying an aquarium with fish in public transport must first remove the fish from the aquarium, and then get on the bus. It is not necessary to empty the water from the aquarium. State dogs that gather in a group of three or more individuals are required to have special permission from the city authorities (a law passed to combat stray dogs).
Citizens are prohibited
There is only one step from gambling to crime. It is strictly forbidden in Louisiana to tie crocodiles to fire hydrants |
The most stupid laws in the United States concern all sorts of prohibitions. In Alabama, Arizona, and Georgia, it is strictly forbidden to keep donkeys in the bathroom, and in Arkansas, crocodiles.
Arizona law strictly prohibits the possession of more than two dildos in the home (Texas has a similar law, although in this state the number of dildos allowed in the home has been increased to six). If police find more of these adult toys, they will be able to accuse the landlord of running a sex shop, which is strictly prohibited by law.
The Arkansas State Congress at one time passed two important laws, according to which citizens are prohibited from pronouncing the name of the state as “Arkansas” (it is necessary – “Arkanso” not to be confused with Kansas), and the water level in the Arkansas River rises above the Main Street Bridge in the state capital, Little Rock.
Connecticut law forbids throwing away used razor blades, husbands kissing their wives on Sundays, and everyone regardless of sex, age, or marital status, to avoid severe penalties for dog-training witchcraft.
In Oklahoma, dogs are not allowed to pack more than three dogs without written permission from the authorities |
In Georgia, you can’t tie giraffes to lampposts, and it’s strictly forbidden for men to snuggle up against another man’s back (as part of the fight against homosexuality). In Florida, severe punishment (fines and even jail) can be imposed on those who blow the winds loudly after 6 p. m., as well as women who fall asleep while drying their hair in hairdressers.
Harsh laws in Michigan. It is forbidden here: to kill dogs using decompression chambers, to deliberately break or otherwise disable a radio receiver (this law was passed at a time when there was universal military duty in the United States and young people who did not come to the recruiting station explained this by the fact that just didn’t know about the call), as well as throwing live or dead octopuses onto the ice at Joe Louis Arena during a game involving the Detroit Red Wings. In Michigan, it is illegal to eat while swimming in the ocean, and in Vermont and West Virginia, it is illegal to whistle underwater. In addition, in Vermont it is forbidden to doubt the existence of God, and in West Virginia it is forbidden to own red or black flags (symbols, respectively, of communism and piracy).
In Nebraska and Oklahoma, from where you can only fly to the nearest ocean, whale fishing is prohibited.
