Educational Summer Camps for Kids

When you look for educational camps for kids, you’ll want to find opportunities that will help your kids learn. We also like to balance that learning with fun. Children enjoy camp activities to better absorb knowledge and develop academic skills. Teaching them in a way that’s both accessible and enjoyable increases the likelihood that they’ll retain the concepts taught at online or in-person academic camps.

Destination Science holds a unique place in the world of educational summer science camps and year-round online learning experiences. This is not a STEM training academy — it’s a place where kids use their imaginations and have fun while they learn. We introduce children to the concepts of science, and we do it by showing these children a good time.

Kids will come away from our camp understanding more about science. They’ll also improve their social skills by working together with other campers on experiments, activities and projects. Our camp focuses on helping kids hone their science skills as well as their life skills, and we help by emphasizing the fun they can have together while learning!

All the fun your elementary-aged children have will encourage them to become better learners. They’ll carry a lifelong love of science with them!

When your child spends time at Destination Science, they’ll make new friends, learn new concepts and discover new ways to collaborate and express curiosity. If you’re looking for academic kids camps near you, consider our unique formula for success.

Step 1: Cool Activities

Long before the first excited campers arrive at DS our expert Curriculum Development Team has searched the globe looking for unique building kits, astonishing gadgets & gizmos, and the best toys, with one big purpose; to stimulate young minds. We keep things fresh every year by presenting a wide variety of exciting new activities.

Step 2: Playful Presentations

Pair these world-class, original activities with important science concepts and rich science vocabulary all wrapped up in an engaging, child-friendly presentation designed to help our kids understand the world around them. We make it a camp, not a summer school, that enriches kids through actual doing, not sitting.

Step 3: Great Staff

Hire the most motivated teachers who know how to make it fun and exciting to ask great questions, figure things out, invent, be curious and to play with a purpose in a safe, no pressure place that treasures open minds and the unique differences in all of our children.

Step 4: Life Skills

Train our staff in special techniques, developed by an internationally known camp expert and educator who serves as our training consultant, to reinforce essential character qualities and life skills such as Creativity, Persistence, Confidence, Cooperation & Respect to name just a few.

Step 5: Learning Continues

Campers get to take home their projects, gizmos, gadgets & toys each day. This encourages family communication and puts children in the role of teacher, developing their confidence and pride. At Destination Science we know one of the great secrets of education: We learn things best when we have to explain them to someone else!

So that’s our formula! The only thing missing from our Formula for Success is…YOU!

I appreciated the little blue cards that came home each day telling me all the activities because it enabled us to talk about the day instead of getting “I don’t know” or “I don’t remember.

I loved that my son got excited each morning to go, that it is run by actual teachers and not HS kids, & that each week has a really cool theme.”

6 educational programs in mathematics for children from grades 1 to 11

Victoria Ripa

found out that summer is the perfect time to improve math

Getting a student to study during the holidays is not easy, but there is one little trick. Summer math camps and schools combine entertainment programs with education and preparation for exams and olympiads. Sometimes it can be done right by the sea.

We have collected summer educational programs in mathematics for schoolchildren from the first to the eleventh grade. Recruitment is still underway, so you can catch your shift this summer.

Coronavirus restrictions in camps

Compared to last year, Rospotrebnadzor has softened the requirements for camps. The occupancy rate of the camps should be no more than 75%, and staff living outside the camp must take a weekly test for coronavirus infection. Also, many schools and camps have canceled parental days.

Important: children must have a current negative PCR test with them.

“Creative Laboratory 2 × 2” is a community of mathematicians who organize numerous clubs, olympiads and field camps. Laboratory students annually take gold, silver and bronze places at All-Russian and International Olympiads in Mathematics. The camp is taught by methodologists, graduates of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department of Moscow State University, authors of specialized competitions and teachers of Moscow schools.

During field schools, children study mathematics in groups divided by subject level. In addition to studying, children go to classes in hobby groups, watch films and go in for sports. The rules of stay have been updated taking into account the threat of coronavirus: parental day has been canceled and it is not possible to take the child home from the camp for several days.

What they say in the reviews: “The tasks were very exciting and quite difficult. In their free time, the counselors came up with entertainment, for example: a hat, a mafia, volleyball and various other board and outdoor games, and in the evening there was either squad time or some kind of game, such as a mound” – one of the students.

In Moscow, the school will be held in the training center on Chistye Prudy and in Dolgoprudny – in the main building of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

What they say in the reviews: “Classes are held in a relaxed atmosphere, you can joke with teachers and communicate like with friends, but at the same time, the knowledge gained here will definitely come in handy in writing the Unified State Examination and Olympiads of the physics and technology type. Mathematical session takes place in the sanatorium “Vetraz” in the Vitebsk region. In addition to intensive training, students are waiting for sports games, walks, excursions, a book and cinema club. Lessons are taught by teachers, graduates and university researchers. At the end of the shift, each student takes exams and receives a record book with results.

What they write in the reviews: “Both sons went to the camp, for both of them this is the first experience of the camps – and definitely successful. Upon returning, from the threshold they announced that they were going again in the new year. Venya came to the camp from an ordinary school, he had a well-established opinion that teachers were created to look for flaws in him, so he rejoiced at any of his successes and an adequate attitude, in general he saw a different life. Kesha, who was accustomed to both teachers and children, simply enjoyed himself. I, as a mother, am grateful to the LNMO for believing in every child, my inveterate robbers received a charge of motivation and faith in themselves ”- mother of two students.
