Bernie’s Place, a high quality daycare on the westside of Madison, is in need of a full-time 4k teacher. The schedule needed is Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm. The center is open year round. The children in this program must be four years old by September 1st of each year.

A candidate must be a 4k certified teacher with a teaching license. The teacher will follow MMSD expectations for planning and implementing a four-year-old kindergarten program and will conference at least twice per year. In addition to teaching the children, the duties also include filling out progress reports through Infinite Campus (MMSD). Teachers eat meals or snacks with the children and assist with classroom maintenance.  Everyone has outdoor playground duty either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Team is big at Bernie’s. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Teachers and parents are supported. A candidate must have education and experience working with infants and toddlers. In addition to caring for the children there is also paperwork involved with this position. The coordinator will need to keep files updated, collect health reports in a timely manner, and hold conferences with parents three times per year. The coordinator will plan with a team for lesson planning and implementation of program for the children in Baby Bernie’s (ages 6 weeks through 2 years).
