Sioux Falls, SD

Hi! We are expecting our 1st baby early February. We will be needing a recurring babysitter 2-3 days a week for only a few hours each day. During the summer months, we will need this care only every other week as my parents plan to care for baby every other week. In August, we will need care each week. Also, the schedule will flip in the first week of July. Days will be every other Wednesday-Friday. & we would possibly need care every other Saturday for 8 hours as well. If any clarification is needed, please ask! I know this is a confusing schedule to read about so if I can offer any clarity, I will! We will consider in-home care but are also open to having a stay at home mom care for our little one. We also value Christian values in our home, so please keep that in mind as we would prefer someone who is likeminded caring for our baby :).

Contact Information: [email protected]
Childcare/Babysitting Location: West Newton, MA
Job Description: Hello, We are a family in West Newton looking for a part time babysitter for our joyful little boy starting January 2023. We would want someone who can commit through at least May 2023.

Our son will be 1 years old by then. We prefer 4 days a week, from 9 am to 3 pm, but could potentially negotiate the time schedule a bit. We are a short walking distance from commuter rail, so a car is not necessary, though preferred. The sitter’s job will be to carry out tasks associated with caring for the little one; diapering, playing, and feeding (light housework directly related to infant care such as his laundry and cleaning up after meal time, etc). We are looking for someone who is fun and enthusiastic about childcare and who will provide an enrichment environment for our son via age appropriate games, talk, play etc. (no screen time). We are a very loving and fair family and would like to find someone who is responsible and health consciousness as I am immunocompromised. We therefore require that the sitter is vaccinated for Covid-19 and up to date with the latest booster. Experience with my son’s age range is a requirement. CPR, First Aid Certification, required. An interest or educational background in early education and/or ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese and/or Cape Verdean creole is a plus.

[If the candidate does not have infant CPR certification we may be willing to cover the costs, if we find the right match.

Additional details: My husband works from home and I will be home at times, so there will always be a parent present. The sitter will primarily stay downstairs in the living room area where we have a play station/baby station set up for our son. We live in an area that is walking distance to several parks. We also have space for the sitter’s car. Thank you so much for reading this add! Please contact us if there’s interest; We will offer competitive pay that is commensurate with experience. We look forward to talking about the position in detail.

We have an old, geriatric dog that will be around (more of a houseplant than dog). I’ll be working from home during this time.

We are not very accessible by bus, so if you have a car, that will work better. Experience a plus. Enjoyment of kids and ability to tolerate a tantrum a must.

Childcare/Babysitting Location Vicinity: Teel St and Massachusetts Ave, Arlington
Job Description:
Hello! We are looking for after school help for our three kids (ages 3, 6, 7) starting the first week in October. Mostly, we need help coordinating school pick up and drop offs at after school activities. And snacks. So many afterschool snacks. The eldest loves Harry Potter and math, the middle one loves crafts and games, and the baby is a third child, so she just wants to do whatever the bigs are doing.

If you can get to our house (we are a little over a mile away from campus) and have a clean driving record, we can provide a car with carseats, etc but most everything is within walking distance. Hours are M, T, Th, F 2:45 -5:30 and Wednesday 12:30-5. The little one gets picked up at 3 every day and the bigs get picked up most days at 3:40 but Wednesdays at 1 because of early release days. We understand that most likely one person can’t take all five days (though that would be great!) but let us know if you are interested in any of the days. After the summer, the children are very bored with us so they are excited to have literally anyone but us come and hang out with them.

Looking forward to talking to you!!

Hi,
My name is Isha Fahad and I graduated with an MA in Child Development from Eliot Pearson in 2019. I am currently looking for childcare for my 6-month old son, who is a happy and cuddly baby. Specifically looking for Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30am-5:30pm (on both these days), but 9:30-2:30pm would also work if you are available only for that time. Very flexible/negotiable for other days of the week as well, if you are interested. Job description:
*Looking for After-School Sitter 3d/week in West Medford
**We will offer a $1000 signing bonus to be paid $500 after one month and the remaining $500 after six months.

Our family is in a moment of transition as our youngest starts school full-time in the fall and our amazing nanny of 3.5 years will start a new job. We are looking for experienced after-school care for our two daughters, ages 4 and 8, three days a week. The job will involve picking up both girls from school (both in our neighborhood and easily walkable from our house), doing snacks, homework help, and taking them to activities (also in the neighborhood and actually easier to walk than drive/park). Mom works in a home office and is in and out throughout the day.

The schedule* we’re looking for is:

Tuesday: 2-6 (oldest dismisses at 2:35, youngest must be picked up by 3)
Wednesday: 1-6 (oldest dismisses at 1:30, youngest must be picked up by 3)
Thursday: 2-6 (same dismissal as Tuesday)
*the above schedule is for 13 hours and the start time a little flexible. This schedule allows for coming to our house first before getting girls, but going directly to first school for pick-up might work best for you; we can come up with a plan together.

Pay is $25/hour and we’re looking for someone available on the school year schedule (end of August 2022 to end of June 2023; non-paid breaks at Christmas, and February and April vacation weeks). We will offer a $1000 signing bonus to be paid $500 after one month and the remaining $500 after six months.

The location of their schools and activities in our neighborhood makes walking easy, but we are looking for someone who is experienced and also comfortable driving the girls if needed. Also, there’s a tight connection between picking up the oldest at 2:35 and walking to get the youngest by 3 (it’s doable, but tight!). We’re looking for someone active who can meet the demands of care for these ages and be creative in balancing activities for their different ages and interests. It’s also important that this caregiver cleans messes associated with their care or facilitates having the girls clean up after themselves (we love this!). Candidates must pass a background check, have a clean driving record, and solid references.

Last thing: if you are interested in more time next June (youngest daughter’s school ends three weeks before oldest), this is something we’d love to discuss.

Thanks so much for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you! 🙂

Childcare/babysitting location vicinity: East Medford near the Roberts Elementary School and less than 10 min walk from Medford Square
Job description:
Looking for someone (or a couple of people) to play with our super sweet 4-year-old daughter from 12-4pm and also our fun and curious 6-year-old son from 2:30-4pm after school 2 days a week (starting September 2022). We live near the kids’ school, so you would do a very short walk to pick them each up at their respective times and otherwise just playing!

The “when” is a bit complicated: I work 2-3 days a week, so need help on those days. However, the days are not always the same, as I work in the hospital and the days change weekly, so this could be the same person or a couple different people. For example, if you are available at those times on Mondays/Fridays only, we can figure out a schedule that works for you – if I don’t work Friday a given week, we would just use you Monday. I always have my schedule at least 2 months in advance, so you would know your schedule with plenty of notice!
My husband works from home, so would be in his office for questions/emergencies and would never be late to pickup at 4pm:)

Would love to chat more to figure out how to make this work so my kiddos have someone fun to play with in the afternoons!

Thanks for considering and hope your own school year starts off well!

Is it easy to work as a nanny in Grodno – Grodno Blog s13

  • June 18, 2022, 07:23
  • workchildrensocialGrodno
  • “I want to look after the child and help with the housework” – in ads, parents often ask to combine “Mary Poppins” and a housekeeper. But something is going wrong. Lots of supply, much less demand. Blog Grodno s13.ru found out whether it is easy to find a good nanny in Grodno, and why this job often turns into a quest.

Grodnenka Eva left the university right before the state exams. Then, with an incomplete higher education, she could not get a job in her specialty. A friend suggested that you can go to Russia and work as a nanny there.

Eva created a profile on the profile site and began to respond to requests. The interviews took place via Skype. I found my first job on a rotational basis. The family wanted a girl from the Grodno region, since their nanny was from here.

After returning to Belarus, the girl from Grodno decided to get a job as a nanny here.

But it turned out that in Grodno there are more offers of nannies than demand. More often they are students or older women. Therefore, it is more difficult to get a job here than in Minsk or Russia.

    – People are not yet accustomed to our nannies. When you say who you work for, they usually wonder if anyone can really afford it. Or “how is it, but why the wife, the wife should take care of the children, and not strangers,” Eva tells Grodno Blog s13.ru

    Expectations and reality

    – I thought they pay more, since the first experience was in Russia. In Grodno, the average salary of a nanny for 5 days for 8 hours is from $150. In Russia it varies – from 800 to 1700 USD. This is with employment 5 days a week. It also always seemed that the work of a nanny was easy: she came, borrowed, played, and calmly left. But sometimes it happens that a child simply “sucks out” the soul, and at home you just cry from impotence, realizing that you cannot cope.

    What parents want

    – Parents want “Mary Poppins” – never discouraged, playful entertainer, know-it-all nanny. They want the child to be safe. Also, my boss once said that her child should not feel her absence from me.

    What nannies want

    – Babysitters want their children to be angels. So that they obey the first time, so that after 10 minutes they don’t forget what the nanny taught them. To always manage to resolve conflict situations with the child. The first time. The work is hard, so we want a good salary.

    What children want

    – To not go anywhere even at night, and if she leaves, to be in the field of view of the child, and in general to live with the child around the clock and constantly want to play and entertain. So that she knows and knows everything, so that she doesn’t force her to study, so that she is allowed to do what her parents forbid. A nanny is a best friend, sometimes parents are not told as much as she is.

What you need to know if you want to be a nanny in Belarus

    – Well, if you are registered officially: in our country, the babysitting service is not so common, people are still distrustful. Although sometimes they are too gullible. One day, a young mother wrote to me late in the evening, asking me to come look after the child, as she urgently needed to work, and the girl was sick. I arrived, I went into the apartment, and my mother immediately flies out with the words: make tea, food is in the refrigerator. I was horrified. I always come with a passport and a photocopy of the passport (this is if for a couple of hours). In the case of long-term cooperation, it is necessary to draw up an agreement. Even if you are not officially employed.

Inconvenient things that are not talked about, but you need to know

    – Often, when hiring a nanny, parents indicate and demand that she cook food for the whole family, clean the house in her free time from the child. For the same salary. Young girls agree, not distinguishing between a nanny and a housekeeper. That is, you got a job as a nanny, and you get an additional load without paying for your work.

If you are going to work or for an interview in any family – you work for a long time, or you came to someone for a couple of hours, you must definitely leave the address and contacts of the person where you are going to order. I don’t know in Belarus, but when I was interviewing in Moscow, there were a lot of men conducting interviews. They never showed their children, wives. Anything can be, it is necessary to insure, especially young people.

What is important in this profession

    – First of all, reputation. Because there are a lot of stereotypes about nannies: the young one will take her husband away, she will sit on the phone, the older one will only eat, steal and will not look after the child.

It is important to have a good relationship with the parents, if they are not established, the baby will manipulate both parties.

It is important for me to get results. For me, the result is when I put knowledge and skills into a child, and he applies them. If I do not see my own result, I fall into apathy and have no desire to continue working. And it happens with children. They develop in waves. There is a period when he grasps everything on the fly and applies it, and then there comes a period when he just doesn’t have a leg in the teeth. It’s like you never taught him anything. At first I was very worried, this was not taught at the university. The mother of the baby taught me this – she told me to relax. And during such periods, we “abandoned” learning, so as not to cause disgust for learning, but replaced learning with games. Checkers, cards, walkers, quests. The child in such games does not strain and still learns, without realizing it.

It is also important to be able to react correctly in a dangerous situation: a tick has bitten, a dog wants to attack, a child eats poisonous berries. And provide first aid. This is not taught in teaching professions. You have to improve your skills in order to be successful.

Where to look for a nanny

The profession is only gaining its popularity.
