KinderCare has provided a safe and happy place for my kids to learn and play. As I approach the end of five years with the Yakima Center I can only feel joy at how welcoming and warm everyone has been. My kids have made life long friends in students and teachers. Our family has enjoyed cooking classes, Spanish classes, music lessons and many seasonal activities. The staff has embraced my children as their own, and has been understanding and accommodating to our needs. It will break my heart when it comes time for my kids to move on from this center. KinderCare gets an A+ and my highest recommendation for new families seeking childcare in Yakima.

About changes and achievements – from the first mouth of people for whom kindergartens are not just educational institutions, for whom the field of education is not just a job, but also a part of their life.

Yulia Mulchenko: “Today our kindergarten is not like the one I remember Yogo”

Yulia Mulchenko came to kindergarten No. 84 and is still working today. The teacher recalls that almost 40 years ago, as soon as she stepped outside the kindergarten, it did not differ from other Berdyansk kindergartens. A typical preschool institution that did not know a major overhaul until 2015. Then in “Romashka” there were no more than six groups, where parents brought their children and left them in the care of educators.

Over the years, the condition of the kindergarten only worsened, despite the attempts of the leadership of the preschool institution to maintain order here. Of course, cosmetic repairs were carried out with the help of the education department and local authorities, but nothing more. Every year, the teachers themselves glued wallpaper, painted the walls, but the appearance of the garden left much to be desired. And only five years ago, the situation with repairs in Romashka got off the ground:

– Today our garden is not like the one I remember yoga. For the rest of the five years, a lot of everything was ruined – they insulated the walls, put in sleepy batteries, made a major overhaul in the middle, in the shower rooms, brought the whole door into harmony, laid tiles. Earlier, it was necessary for us to heat the water, so that the children could remember their hands after the walk. At the same time, it’s not a problem, because hot water is at any hour, – shared Yulia Ivanovna. – Everything is changing, and the garden is also growing, changing to better. In addition to the state of the kindergarten, Yulia Ivanovna recalls that earlier there were much more children in groups, since there were not enough preschool institutions, local kindergartens were overcrowded.

Few people can afford to watch TV. Today, the generation is smarter, don’t be afraid of anything, know how to work with a computer, already a little one, – said the teacher. nine0005

Nina Doroshenko: “The appearance of the kindergarten is also our face”

Nina Doroshenko came to kindergarten No. 36 “Cheburashka” only in 2002, although she became a teacher 20 years before. She got a job here already with a wealth of experience and knowledge, with hundreds of pupils who have long grown up. Nina Nikolaevna warmly recalls the beginning of her work in preschool institutions, despite all the difficulties of that time.

– We made repairs every year, tried to keep the garden clean, because the appearance of the kindergarten is also our face. So it was then, so it is now. However, all those years we improved the garden on our own – carried out cosmetic repairs, planted trees, grew flowers, – shared Nina Nikolaevna. – Of course, parents and the city helped, but major changes were not visible for a long time. nine0005

The teacher said that the kindergarten teachers and management tried to make the stay of pupils in Cheburashka much more comfortable. And now the kindergarten keeps up with the times, and thanks to the support of the authorities and the department of education, every year it only gets better. Now the situation in the groups has changed, the drainage system has been completely reconstructed, high-quality repairs are being made and the territory is being landscaped.

– We are trying to modernize the kindergarten premises. We already have stretch ceilings, beautiful wallpaper, and new curtains. Windows and doors throughout the garden have been replaced and insulated. We try to do everything possible that depends on us, so that the children grow up in comfort, in coziness, – said the teacher. – And even now, during the quarantine period, when parents are not allowed into the kindergarten, we try to be second mothers for children. I work in a nursery. The kids here are just kids, so we try to do everything that the children went to the garden with pleasure and pleasant impatience. nine0005

Antonina Zaichenko: “Actually, the kindergarten was being built before my very eyes”

Antonina Zaichenko has been working in kindergarten No. 35 “Cherry” for 37 years. Since the teacher grew up on the same street, next to the kindergarten, Antonina Alexandrovna immediately decided to get a job here, because from childhood, “Cherry” has become native to her.

– In fact, the kindergarten is being built before my eyes. At that time it was a pretty good kindergarten, which was not inferior to other preschool institutions. However, during perestroika, the kindergarten was under threat of closure. As a result, Cherry did not work for four whole years. It is not known how the further fate of the kindergarten would have developed if we, the educators, had not rallied, had not begun to go out to the microdistricts, insisting that we open our beloved kindergarten. nine0005

Thanks to the joint efforts of the management and teachers of “Vyshenka”, the kindergarten opened and gradually began to flourish. According to Antonina Alexandrovna, at first it was difficult – the teachers did half of the repairs themselves, bought linoleum, wallpaper and furniture, and only after many years the kindergarten received support and help from the city authorities.

– Two years ago, significant changes were already noticeable, and this year the kindergarten has simply changed. It’s good when the city authorities take care of the children, the conditions in which they are, and do everything to make their stay even more comfortable, – shared Antonina Aleksandrovna. – Finally, the appearance of the Cherry has also changed. For so many years we have been trying to achieve a fence that will protect our kindergarten from the road that leads to the beach. They heard us, and that year they put up a fence with neat gates, so that no stranger would enter the garden. They made a central platform from decorative tiles, and that year they also made a decorative flower bed with exotic plants. Installed solar panels, completely replaced the sewerage and plumbing. nine0005

But the most significant change, which no one expected to see, was the insulation of the facade. Since the kindergarten building was often exposed to strong winds and, accordingly, a draft “walked” inside, insulation was simply necessary for Cherry.

– It’s just nice to be on the territory of the kindergarten, it’s all playing with colors now. The newly renovated garden fully corresponds to our times. Our goal is to make children happy. And this, in turn, is influenced by everything that surrounds them, – says the teacher. nine0005

Lyudmila Nazaruk: “Over the past five years, Poznayka has changed beyond recognition”

Once upon a time it was the Topolek kindergarten. Now we all know it as the name of one of the most popular children’s magazines – Poznayka. Lyudmila Nazaruk came here in 1986 and recalls that teachers from year to year tried to do everything possible for the children so that their development was comprehensive.

Over time, the Ukrainian magazine “Poznayka” offered cooperation with the kindergarten, so in the garden number 37 they focused on the intellectual development of children. And soon the former Topolek was renamed Poznayka. nine0005

Lyudmila Nikolaevna recalls how difficult it was at first, there was no quality repair in the kindergarten for a long time:

– We carried out cosmetic repairs, but could not afford to make a major one. Previously, everything was done by the hands of educators, and parents, as best they could, supported. And over the past five years, Poznayka has changed beyond recognition. Windows and doors were replaced here, tiles were laid on the sidewalk, solar panels were installed, and the ventilation system of the catering unit was changed. The teacher shared that there is practically no difference between the upbringing of that time and the present. What then, what now – they tried to give the best to the children, but it was possible to improve and make the kindergarten better only in recent years.
