The formation of a child’s creative personality can be effective only if the creative potential of a person in various activities is actualized in this process. Great opportunities in the development of children’s creativity include visual activity in combination with various educational areas . ..

I. V. Bulanova

Socio-economic transformations in society dictate the need to form a creatively active personality with the ability to effectively and innovatively solve new life problems. In this regard, before the preschool institution, and before us teachers, there is an important task of developing creative potential, starting from preschool age.
nine0005

At preschool age, the foundations are laid for the comprehensive, harmonious development of the child. The teachers came to the conclusion that the early development of creativity in preschool age is the key to future success. Aesthetic education is a complex and lengthy process, children get their first artistic impressions, become familiar with art, master various types of artistic activity, among which drawing occupies a large place. From an early age, a child should develop a sense of beauty, aesthetic taste, the ability to understand and appreciate works of art, the beauty and richness of native nature. This contributes to the formation of a spiritually rich and harmoniously developed personality. V. A. Sukhomlinsky wrote that “A child by nature is an inquisitive researcher, a discoverer of the world around him. So let a wonderful world open before him in living colors, bright and quivering sounds, in a fairy tale and a game, in his own creativity, in an effort to do good to people. Through a fairy tale, fantasy, game, through unique children’s creativity – the right way to the heart of a child.
nine0005

All children are inherently talented. Many abilities and feelings that nature endows us, unfortunately, remain insufficiently developed and undiscovered, and therefore unrealized in the future life. The issue of harmonious development and creative self-realization is becoming almost the most important issue for a modern person.

Visual activity is interesting, exciting for children, as it is possible to convey their impressions of the surrounding reality with the help of a pencil, paints. This process causes a feeling of joy and surprise in children. The child creates a new, original, showing imagination, realizing his plan, independently finding a means for its implementation. The desire to create is an inner need of the child, it arises in him independently and is distinguished by sincerity.
nine0005

The problem of the development of creative imagination is an integral component of any form of a child’s creative activity, his behavior in general.

Imagination is formed on the basis of perception, and perception, in turn, on the basis of purposeful observation. The teacher must develop the skill in children to see the whole object as a whole, as well as its details, its characteristic and individual features. Thus, imagination is the leading component of artistic and creative activity in preschool age. The formation of ideas about objects requires the assimilation of knowledge about their properties and qualities, shape, color, size, position in space. Children define and name these properties, compare objects, find similarities and differences.
nine0005

Drawing is one of the first and most accessible means of self-expression for a child. Drawing is not only fun, but also creative work. Drawing helps us to get to know the child better, makes it possible to obtain material that reveals the features of thinking, imagination, emotional-volitional sphere.

All the necessary qualities of imagination (breadth, arbitrariness, brightness, originality) do not arise spontaneously, but under the condition of systematic influence on the part of adults. We try to enrich and clarify the perception of the child, and do not “impose” ready-made topics.
nine0005

The concept of “creativity” is defined as an activity, as a result of which the child creates a new, original, showing imagination, realizing his plan, independently finding a means for its implementation. The desire to create is an inner need of the child, it arises in him independently and is distinguished by sincerity.

Working on this topic, I became interested in the possibility of using non-traditional methods of visual activity in working with preschoolers. Because I faced such a problem as children find it difficult to draw, it seems to them that they will not succeed. This is due to the fact that the skills of visual activity in children are still poorly developed, the shaping movements are not sufficiently formed. Children lack self-confidence and independence. Experience has shown that mastering non-traditional image techniques gives preschoolers true joy if it is built taking into account the specifics of the activity and age of children. The time of discovery is coming, and pencils, paints, felt-tip pens become a real source of miracles. You can develop the ability of children to draw with salt and glue, air paints, on foil, paints in a bag, introduce children to the technique of drawing ebru. Using various means, you can create a situation of free choice, which is so necessary in creative activity. Drawing in unusual ways, while using the tools that surround us in everyday life, causes only joyful emotions in children. Children with a great desire to draw, create and invent something new themselves.
nine0005

Non-traditional technique does not allow copying a sample, which raises to another level of development of imagination, creativity, independence, initiative, manifestation of individuality. The child gets the opportunity to reflect his impressions of the world around him, to convey images of the imagination, turning them into real forms with the help of various materials. The development of creativity largely depends on the organization of the subject-developing environment in the group. To do this, our group has created all the conditions with a variety of traditional and non-traditional tools and materials for fine arts and artistic work: brushes, pencils, felt-tip pens, paints, plasticine, printing stamps, cocktail tubes, cotton swabs, paper of different quality, cotton wool, dental brushes, salt, foil, shaving foam. The available material is located in such a way that children can freely, according to their interests, choose materials for themselves, manuals for this type of activity, if they wish, not only reproduce, continue what they did on the node, in joint activities, but also show their creativity, as well as finish the started game, work, realize your ideas. In the corner there is a stand for an exhibition of children’s work. The main goal of this center is to activate children’s artistic creativity, to enrich the experience of creative activity. Children are happy to participate in decorating the group with their work, this allows them to additionally motivate children to creative activities. An important condition for the development of visual skills and artistic development is the cooperation of the family and the kindergarten. For parents, I offer information such as: “I have a pencil in my hands that works wonders …”, “I will go on a trip to the land of the Rainbow …” they help parents understand the importance of this type of activity. Conducted master classes: “Spring Fantasy”, “Drawing without a brush”, which allowed parents to visually see how to organize the process of drawing with children. Thus, drawing is one of the important types of child development. It helps the development of such qualities as perception, imaginative thinking, imagination. Drawing brings joy to children, creating a positive attitude. All children love to draw – after all, this is a wonderful opportunity to express their delight in the world around them with the language of colors. Visual activity helps the child to become an extraordinary, aesthetically developed personality, allows him to show his creative abilities. Thus, a creative person develops, able to apply his knowledge and skills in various situations. Drawing in non-traditional ways is a fascinating, mesmerizing activity. This is a huge opportunity for children to think, try, search, explore, and most importantly, express themselves.
nine0005

Developing imagination in the process of drawing in preschool children increases the focus, stability of ideas; images of the imagination are visual, dynamic and emotionally colored. Therefore, this work must be continued and improved.

Consultation for parents “How to develop a child’s imagination”

Teacher-psychologist: Vikhrova T.V.

Advice for parents

“How to develop a child’s imagination”

Today there is a tendency to underestimate such a

mental process as imagination. Parents are mainly concerned about two issues – the health of children and their preparation for school. Solving the latter, they begin to teach the baby almost from the cradle, turning the environment into a small school.

Real life example. The mother of a baby, not yet a year old, hung a table of consonant sounds of the Russian language over his bed. Recall: the classification of sounds is quite serious – not just deaf and voiced, but labial, anterior-lingual, posterior-lingual, etc. This was argued more than convincingly “To grow smart!” nine0040

Thus, the life of a child is subject to one task – to prepare as best as possible for school. Alas, this approach does not justify itself, and every year the number of children is growing – yes, smart, well-read, able to use a computer and, probably, knowing what labial, front-lingual and back-lingual consonants are – but completely unprepared psychologically for the role of a student.

What’s the matter?

The mental development of children is in leaps and bounds, defined

periods, each of which is based on the previous one and is provided by the leading activity of each stage and its age-related neoplasm. If for some reason at one of the stages the child has not mastered a certain type of activity, the specific features of his personality have not been developed, then at the next stage he will experience serious difficulties.

The leading activity for preschool age is the game, and the age-related psychological neoplasm is imagination. Therefore, if the child has not finished playing, has not developed fantasies, has not mastered all types of games, he will not be able to easily study at school. nine0005

Readiness for school is far from the sum of some knowledge, skills and abilities, it is a certain chain of mental development, which is characterized, among other things, by the consistent appearance of “smart” emotions, the ability to anticipate the outcome of a situation, the ability to go beyond its limits and, thus , manage it.

The meaning of imagination

Imagination is the ability to create new images based on the experience, memories of different sensations and feelings, it is the ability to see the world in a multifaceted and broad way. It is closely related to the perception of the environment, emotions and memory, so its development is of great importance for the overall development of preschoolers. nine0005

Imagination performs a number of specific functions:

  • representing reality in images and using them to solve problems. This function is connected with thinking and is organically included in it;
  • regulation of emotional states. With the help of imagination, a person is able to partially satisfy many needs, relieve the tension generated by them;
  • participation in the arbitrary regulation of cognitive processes and states, in particular perception, attention, memory, speech, emotions. With the help of evoked images, a person can pay attention to the necessary events. Through images, he gets the opportunity to control perception, memories, statements. nine0070
  • the formation of an internal plan of action – the ability to carry them out in the mind, manipulating images;
  • planning and programming activities, evaluation of its correctness, implementation process.

Helping a child to develop imagination, along with other abilities, adults help him find himself and his place in life in the future.

Ways to develop imagination

Psychologists distinguish three types of imagination, depending on the way it is formed:

  1. Recreating – the image is formed on the basis of a heard story or a self-read book.
  2. Creative – the child begins to fantasize without relying on any facts, only with the help of his mind. This is the most productive kind of imagination, the development of which should be pursued.
  3. Uncontrollable – the child believes in images created by fantasy so much that he begins to live in a fantasy world and literally defends its reality with foam at the mouth. This kind of imagination is often characteristic of unbalanced children living in problem families. nine0070

There are many ways to develop creative imagination. All of them are quite accessible to parents, do not require special training, high costs or serious preliminary organization. The main thing is the desire, the desire to use every minute of communication with the baby to good use, attention to his need to prove himself.

So, in order to stimulate the development of the child’s imagination, the following is necessary:

  1. Enrich life experience. The richer the palette of experiences

impressions, emotions, the brighter the child’s fantasies. To do this, you need:

  • diversify tactile sensations;
  • try new flavors and aromas;
  • travel;
  • go to concerts, performances, museums;
  • take walks in nature – in the forest, to the banks of a river, lake;
  • play on handy musical instruments – pots, spoons, cutting boards, glasses, etc.

    1. Read (listen to an adult reading). Reading books about distant, mysterious countries, adventures, people’s lives contributes to the development of fantasy – the child imagines plots, portraits of the main characters, countries in which certain events take place, in addition, his vocabulary and images are replenished.
    2. Write stories. Thanks to this, the child learns to create their own stories and characters. And by making the baby the protagonist of stories, parents strengthen his sense of self-worth. nine0070
    3. Draw. Imagination is formed in the process of creative processing of what happened. Drawing, the child creates his own world, invents his characters, events, builds relationships between them. It is important to discuss his work with him, ask him to tell the story of each hero, what happened to them, what will happen.

    All artistic activity is based on active imagination, creative thinking, which provides an unusual view of the world and contributes to the development of abstract-logical memory and thinking, enriches the child’s individual life experience. nine0005

    1. Come up with a variety of ways to use the material at hand. Absolutely everything can come in handy in the game: a towel will make an excellent turban, a sheet and chairs will make a tent or a fortress, beads can become precious stones, a blanket can become a flying carpet, a TV box can become a house in which you can even put light, curtains on the windows – sails, and the apartment – a ship.

    The simplest things around us tend to be the most suitable props to play with and stimulate the imagination. nine0005

    1. Encourage children to play with fictional characters. Depicting the events of everyday life, as well as fictional life, the child draws new knowledge. By portraying a wizard, a knight, he will not only feel strong and powerful, but also understand that he can be anyone. Such games develop self-discipline: the child himself comes up with the rules and strictly monitors their implementation, better understands the cause-and-effect relationships.

    By creating imaginary situations and replaying them to their logical conclusion, he learns to think creatively and solve various problems. nine0005

    Research has shown that as children grow up, imaginative children not only continue to develop their imagination, they grow into people who can effectively solve various problems.

    Testing these children at an older age shows that the “inventor” will always have ideas on how to cope with unforeseen circumstances and how to get out of a difficult situation.

    1. Put children in difficult situations. An example of a classic task: “You are on a deserted island. How to survive? Such tasks contribute to the activation of mental activity, imagination, form the ability to come up with extraordinary ways out of difficult situations, find ways to solve them in the world around us, not lose heart and not lose heart. nine0070

    Games and exercises to develop the imagination

    Game is the best activity for a preschooler, which develops creative imagination. Here are examples of games and exercises that can be carried out both with one child and with a group of children, for example, at a birthday party.

    Continue Drawing Exercise

    Draw six circles of the same size on a piece of paper.

    Invite the child to complete each circle so that they make different drawings. As an option – draw six squares, ask the child to come up with six different drawings that include these squares as a part.
