AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

West Woods KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community.  Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

“The world immediately became less interesting”: the “queen of punk” Vivienne Westwood died

Last night in the UK at the age of 81 Vivienne Westwood died living in her home in the London suburb of Clapham, “peacefully, surrounded by her family,” according to the official page of her brand on Instagram (the owner of Meta is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).

“Vivienne continued to do what she loved until the very last moment — designing, creating art, writing a book, changing the world for the better. She lived an amazing life. Her innovations and contributions over the past 60 years have been enormous – and will have an impact on the future,” Vivienne Westwood said in a statement.

The founder of the brand was quoted as saying about Taoism: “The world has never needed Tao as much as it does now. The Tao gives you the feeling that you belong to the cosmos and gives meaning to your life.”

“The world needs people like Vivien to change it for the better,” the brand says in a statement.

The fashion designer’s death was also reported by her husband Andreas Kronthaller. “I will continue to live with Vivienne in my heart. We worked until the very end and she gave me so much to keep going. Thank you dear,” he wrote on social media.

A native of the village of Tintwistle in Derbyshire, Vivienne Westwood (Swire) came from a working-class family and began her life as a primary school teacher. She did not have a professional education in the field of fashion – only at 1958, having moved with her family from London at the age of 17, she attended an art school for one semester, where she studied jewelry. She left school, however, saying, “I don’t understand how a working-class girl like me can make money in the arts.” And she graduated from a pedagogical college, mastering the art of creating clothes on her own.

In 1962, Vivien Swire married Derek Westwood, a Hoover factory worker in the London suburbs, and she made the wedding dress herself. At 19Their son Benjamin was born in 63. But a few years later everything turned upside down – Vivienne Westwood met Malcolm McLaren, the future manager of the New York Dolls and Sex Pistols. Their son Joseph was born in 1967, and in 1971 the couple opened a clothing store on London’s King’s Road that would become known as Sex and would forge a London punk aesthetic with chunky-knit mohair sweatshirts, inside-out sweatshirts and Queen Elizabeth prints. In the late 70s, Vivienne Westwood dressed punks – and already in 1981 she released her own collection called “Pirates” in a new “new age” aesthetic, which she would adhere to throughout her life. Her style is a rethinking of the traditions of English tailoring, historical costume of the 18th century. In the 1980s, Vivienne Westwood invented crini skirts (a kind of mini-crinoline), inspired by Diaghilev’s Russian Seasons. And she returned corsets to high fashion, ironically calling them the “Statue of Liberty”.

In the 80s she was laughed at, but she was indifferent to it. When, in 1989, Vivienne Westwood presented her collection entitled “The Time Machine” on the BBC live, laughter was heard in the hall, and the TV presenters could not help but smile. “Your clothes are not a joke, do you really believe that they are attractive and make people attractive?” – the TV presenter asked her a question. “Something like that,” Vivienne Westwood replied.

Already in 1990, Vivienne Westwood was recognized as the British “Designer of the Year”, and in 19In 92, the founder of the fashion house Vivienne Westwood received the Order of the British Empire – it was presented to her at Buckingham Palace by Elizabeth II. Appearing at the ceremony in a strict gray suit and hat, the fashion designer, leaving the palace, twirled around in front of the photographers in her midi-length skirt – and found a golden lining, transparent tights and no underwear. The fashion designer later explained to The Guardian that she did not plan to arrange provocations, but simply wanted to demonstrate the outfit. “It didn’t occur to me that the photographers were practically on their knees, the result was more glamorous than I expected,” Vivienne Westwood admitted. She added that, according to reviews, the queen was amused by this unexpected performance.

In 2006, she again appeared at Buckingham Palace without underwear – this time she received the title of Lady Commander from Charles, Prince of Wales.

Vivienne Westwood attended the ceremony with her husband, Andreas Kronthaller, mother, Dora Swire, and granddaughter, Cora Corre. In the absence of underpants, the fashion designer herself admitted to reporters: “Don’t ask. The answer is the same. I don’t wear them with dresses. When I wear underwear, it can only be my husband’s silk boxers.” She refused to spin in front of the photographers.

The following year, 2007, was also not without an award – and without embarrassment: at the British Fashion Awards, the designer won the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design nomination, but could not follow her on stage, because at the time of the announcement of the results went to the restroom.

Vivienne Westwood’s political activism, disregard for decorum, and harsh statements did not prevent her from becoming a fashion designer for royalty and politicians. For example, in 2009, the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla chose the brand’s dress for the royal races at Ascot, and in 2011, Princess Eugenie of York wore Westwood for the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Vivienne Westwood trouser suit was worn twice by former British Prime Minister Theresa May, considering him happy. Once she made a statement on Brexit in it, although the fashion designer herself considered leaving the EU a catastrophe and openly supported the Green Party since 2015.

She also supported Julian Assange and even designed a dress for his fiancée Stella Morris for their wedding this March at Belmarsh Prison in London.

The last few years in general have been closely connected in the life of Vivienne Westwood with political activism. She called for a reduction in excess consumption and a more careful attitude towards nature. As a vegetarian, she was one of the first in the fashion world to call for a ban on fur.

Vivienne Westwood’s shows have more than once become political manifestos, but she didn’t stop there: in 2015, the MBE arrived in a tank at the home of British Prime Minister James Cameron to protest against the extraction of shale gas by hydraulic fracturing. And on her No Man’s Land website, she published essays on social justice and environmental protection until the last moment. Recently, she supported the girls who poured a Van Gogh painting with tomato soup.

Dame Commander, eco-activist, queen of punk, Vivienne Westwood has left a powerful mark on fashion history. “Vivienne is gone and the world immediately becomes a less interesting place,” wrote Chrissie Hynde, the lead singer of the Pretenders, who once worked in her store, about her.
