Senior Pastor

In response to the recent relocation of our senior pastor Waikoloa Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking an ordained Baptist pastor who will be the congregation’s spiritual leader. WBC was founded and organized in 1989 along with Waikoloa Baptist Keikiland (daycare). On average WBC’s current worship attendance runs 135 each week. The Pastoral Search Committee is seeking the mind and will of God as we continue our inheritance. WBC is a multigenerational and multicultural body of born again believers seeking to grow both spiritually and numerically. Waikoloa Baptist Church is seeking a leader who preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, has a heart for the people of God, teaches the bible, and provides pastoral care for members of the congregation. The pastor will also be responsible for day to day operations of the church, membership, daycare and community through evangelism and edification.

* Response to Miniserial Question (found on the WBC Senior Pastor job application)

* Copy of ordination certificate

* Provide a photo of yourself

* Provide a link to any sermons and or Bible Study Classes if available

RESPONSIBILITY OF A PASTOR

* The Senior Pastor will preside over worship services, funeral services, weddings, and baby dedications or designate someone else to perform these functions during a time of absence.

* The Senior Pastor will be responsible for teaching, counseling, and observance of the Ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.

* The Senior Pastor will be responsible for visiting members who are hospitalized, confined to home or in an extended care facility. The Senior Pastor will also delegate these responsibilities to the church leaders as appropriate.

* The Senior Pastor will moderate church business meetings.

* The Senior Pastor will work with various ministries to provide leadership in planning, organizing, and coordinating programs in discipleship and ministry.

* The Senior Pastor must demonstrate an intergenerational and multicultural approach to spiritual growth and congregational spiritual growth and development.

* The Pastor will be responsible for overseeing and supporting all church ministries and committees.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have the following:

* Must be responsible for the biblical and spiritual obligations unto God as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, II Timothy 2:15, I Peter 5:1-4 and Titus 1:5-9

* Must have attended Seminary

* Must be an ordained Baptist minister

* Must be committed to the Baptist Doctrine and Articles of Faith as well as being an effective communicator with the ability to teach sound doctrine and to preach effectively from the Holy Bible

* Must have a minimum of 5 years of Senior Pastoral experience with 1-10 years of other ministry experience

* Must be an effective leader with multiple staff and developed managerial and administrative skills/abilities

* Must be proficient in the use of modern technology

* Must be committed to further religious training

* Must be committed to church growth/development and membership retention

* Must be able to articulate a vision for the church that emphasizes spiritual growth/development

* Must be able to plan and conduct worship services

* Must be committed to providing spiritual and managerial support to WBC Keikiland daycare.
