SibFU campus will occupy 650 hectares / News of the Society of Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru

The campus of the Siberian Federal University will occupy 650 hectares and include schools, kindergartens and shopping malls. This became known on August 13 at the first discussion of the general plan of the complex. The draft plan was presented to the audience, which included representatives of the Siberian Federal University, as well as the Minister of Architecture and Construction of the Territory Nikolai Glushkov, Tatyana Lisienko, head of the Krasnoyarskgrazhdanproekt construction design workshop. According to her, according to the project, the future area of the university campus and educational buildings of 18 SibFU institutes will be 650 hectares, while now the university occupies 130 hectares. nine0003

“First of all, the issue of the location of the complex was decided,” Lisienko said. “As a result, we stopped at the same site where three universities that are part of the federal university are now located – the former Polytechnic, Construction Academy and the Classical University.” The main factor in the choice was that the main future contingent of SibFU is already studying here: “Out of the future 40,000 students, this area is familiar to 38,000,” the head of the workshop explained, adding that in addition to students, the university campus will accept another 20,000 . teachers and attendants. The population of the complex will thus reach 60 thousand people. nine0003

The new areas will house residential buildings, shopping and sports complexes. According to the designer, it is planned to open two schools on the campus – for a thousand places each – and three kindergartens, as well as two clinics, several underground parking lots and a multifunctional, public sports complex of regional significance, which will be located in the area of st. Kopylova, etc. Svobodny.

At the same time, Lisienko emphasized that the principal position of the designers is to preserve the Birch Grove and the Botanical Garden, located in the university area, in connection with which land for construction will be allocated in the direction that brings the campus closer to the city. “This is a territory designated in the city plan as a zone of promising development,” said the head of the workshop. – There are summer cottages that will have to be bought out. There is no private housing on it, and one way or another, these lands will be used for development, if not university buildings, then residential buildings.” Speaking about other private facilities on the territory of the university, Lisienko added that, at the request of the owners, they can be converted into public service facilities. nine0003

Another important issue was the choice of a place where the core of the university will be located. The authors of the project also considered it necessary to keep it where the classical university (former KSU) and the library are now located. A pedestrian university boulevard will connect the core with the Polytechnic Institute and the former Civil Engineering Academy. “Thus, instead of a chaotic, “Brownian movement” around the Campus, we will have a pedestrian zone with a developed service and entertainment infrastructure,” Lisienko emphasized. “In places with difficult terrain, we even plan to equip escalators, and Svobodny Avenue, which divides the campus into two parts, will be deepened so that safe transitions can remain at the top.” nine0003

This project is expected to take an average of 10 years to complete, the designer added. “Now everything depends on his approval, passing all the examinations and public hearings, as well as on the allocation of the land we need for construction,” Lisienko concluded.
