Older toddlers and 2-year-olds are at an age during which their awareness and curiosity of the surrounding world lead them to develop motor skills, communication skills and a greater interest in creative play and social interaction. Such age-appropriate milestones form the basis of our Twos program which is specifically geared toward 2-year-old children. Thematic units and carefully-planned activities incorporate sensory experiences, exploration, art, and language curiosity. A few of the goals of our Flamingo program include successfully expressing feelings and needs, participating in free play, and completing personal care tasks.

Much of the day is spent self-selecting activities. During this time, children are free to explore, question, create and challenge themselves with guidance from their teachers. They also participate in circle time each day during which they discuss the weekly theme, share stories/songs and expand their learning as a group. Children are encouraged, but not forced, to participate in circle time activities and discussions.

Help With Potty Training

Children also focus on toilet training in the Twos program. Teachers encourage children to sit and attempt to use the toilet during regular diaper changing times. We recognize that each child participates in and completes the toilet training process at different paces and ages. A child will never be forced to sit on the toilet.

We understand the importance of communication between our teachers and your family. That’s why, each day, parents have the opportunity to share relevant and current information about their child: sleeping patterns, eating schedule, general disposition, and any special considerations for the day. with information specific to your child, is sent to you at the end of each day, offering a list of activities, sensory experiences, art projects, and music and movement activities as well as feedings, naps, and toileting.

2 – Year Old | Program

The Creative Curriculum serves as the framework for conducting the PBCA two-year-old program. Learning Environment Centers are introduced in the two-year-old classroom and include: Bible time, circle time, dramatic play, art center, blocks, fine motor skills, music, and a book/literacy area. Every child will participate in activities that are socially, physically, intellectually, and psychologically age appropriate. Children learn through action, exploration, and play. Our skilled teachers are adept at turning playtime into learning activities. New items are periodically introduced to facilitate a better understanding of the classroom’s weekly focus.

Extra-curricular activities include but are not limited to: chapel, physical education, music and movement, art, library, story time sessions, science/discovery classes, and Spanish.

  • Low student to teacher ratio.

Criteria to enter the 2’s program

  1. Children must be two years old before September 1st of the year entering the program.
  2. All immunizations must be current.
What fine arts programs are offered to my preschool child?

Beginning in our two-year-old program, Spanish, music, library, art and physical education will be offered on a weekly basis. PBCA’s in house fine arts teachers will introduce each of these fine arts at an age appropriate level that builds throughout the year.

Do you have any tips on potty training?

This is the year when we begin assisting you with potty training your child. Below are some helpful tips we have found help make the transition a smoother one. Please do not hesitate in coming to us if you have any further questions or need further clarification.

Things you can do at home:

  • Start reading potty books and talking about going potty in the big potty.
  • Have them sit on the potty during natural transition times (before and after meals, before and after naps, before diaper changes, before bath time).

What to do during training:

  • Children should wear easy on and off pants during training, and no onesies.
  • Pull-ups are a transition item from diaper to underwear. Once pull ups stay dry for an extended amount of time then we can try underwear with a pull up over it.
  • Keep communication open with teachers as to how potty training is progressing at home.

What to expect:

  • Sometimes children regress with potty training after they first start.
  • Children may become fully potty trained at home before they are ready at school.
  • Treats are a good incentive for potty training, please bring in something your child would like (gummies, small M&M’s, stickers, stamps, etc.)

Characteristics of a potty trained child:

  • Able to indicate to an adult the need to go potty and/or is able to respond when asked to use the bathroom.
  • Able to effectively pull down their own clothes and undergarments and then pull them up again after they have gone to the bathroom.
  • Able to assist with the changing of their clothes if a potty accident should occur, which from time to time, may happen while napping.

To abide by Health Department guidelines and in order to maintain a sanitary classroom environment, children who are consistently having accidents must remain in a diaper at school.

PROGRAMS

Toddler Program – 1 Day/wk for 1.5 hours

The Toddler class is for parents or caregivers and the child. This program is designed to help toddlers get ready to begin their school experience. When children enter the classroom, they are met with a variety of options, all of which center around play and socialization. This warm and nurturing environment is structured just enough to engage our toddlers in many hands-on activities ranging from easel painting, to play dough, arts and crafts and sensory table play, all of which help transition into a more structured classroom environment. Caregiver and child will participate in a short circle time with singing, musical instruments and a short story. This class is concluded with time outside on our playground facility. Children need to be 17 months by the start of the program.

Two Year Old Program – 2 Days/wk (MT or ThF) or 3 Days/wk (Mon/Tue/Weds OR Weds/Thu/Fri) 5 Days/wk

Teachers provide activities to allow children to feel secure and happy in the classroom setting. Children will enjoy opportunities to share with others and learn that they are special. This is a 2 or 3 day a week program and this program falls under our Church umbrella. It is a feeder program to our preschool.

Three Year Old Program – 3, 4 or 5 Days/wk

Three year olds are helped to feel comfortable and secure outside the home. They learn how to enjoy being part of a small group of other young children. Teachers carefully plan activities which introduce three year olds to new experiences and concepts. Special activities feature the holidays and the seasons of the year. Emphasis is placed on concepts such as color, shapes, animals and families.

Older Three Year Old Program – 3, 4 or 5 Days/wk

Children who turn four during the fall are assigned to older three year old classes. Emphasis is placed on exploring themes such as families, homes, pets and food. During the second semester, classes begin work with the alphabet, numbers and writing.

Four Year Old Pre-Kindergarten Program – 4 or 5 Days/wk

This is a pre-kindergarten curriculum that will prepare children for Kindergarten. A thematic approach is used to organize the curriculum for four year olds. Play experiences, art stories, songs, field trips and cooking are related to specific topics. Favorite themes for fours include farming, Native Americans, dinosaurs, the earth, the environment, food and nutrition and plant life. Throughout the year a variety of learning experiences are used to develop familiarity with the alphabet and numbers. Reading and writing are encouraged through journals, games and literature.

Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment

Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment is offered as an after school class for Pre-Kindergarten students from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. This class reinforces skills from the pre-kindergarten program.

Transitional Kindergarten (“The Gift of a Year”) – 5 days/wk

The Transitional Pre-K class is intended for children who are age appropriate for Kindergarten and whose parents are considering the possibility of taking advantage of an extra year. The gift of a year can provide countless opportunities for children to confidently progress to the next level of education. The Transitional class provides children with the opportunity to continue working on kindergarten readiness skills. The curriculum is different than our Four Year Old/Pre-Kindergarten Program. Many hands on learning opportunities like the Thanksgiving play and “Student of the Week” give the children the self confidence to move into a kindergarten program with ease. Children will continue to work on their fine motor development as well as problem solving and listening skills. Math concepts and language development will be worked on individually and in groups. They will also focus on alphabet sounds and linking letters to form words. At the discretion of the director, this class may include children who turn five in the fall. As with all our classes, many factors are taken into consideration such as boy/girl ratio, number of children and the needs of the individual students. Transitional kindergarten will have a variety of joint ventures with the kindergarten class.

Kindergarten

The extended Kindergarten program, from 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., provides children with a warm and rich environment for continuing growth and development and readiness for first grade.  Opportunities for reading, writing and math are daily activities. Included are science, health and social studies concepts expanding knowledge of the world and their surroundings. Creative projects enrich their ability to express ideas and feelings, including plays that they put on for the whole school. Before and After School Options

The school day runs from 9:00 a. m. to 12 p.m. (kindergarten until 1:30). Before school care is available for $6 per half hour. A lunch program is available which extends the school day until 1:30 p.m. at $18 a day; ‘Afternoon Adventures’ extends the day through until 3:00 p.m. and costs $36 a day.

More than 10,000 families from Tyumen have applied for participation in the Young Family program for 2013 to improve housing conditions. These data were announced by Andrey Basov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Construction of the Tyumen Region during a roundtable held at the end of last week.

Andrey Basov could not answer how many people from among the applicants will receive approval to participate in the program, the subsidy itself, and how many of them will be able to buy an apartment thanks to the benefit. Many, having already received certificates, are forced to refuse money, because there are no suitable real estate offers, since the problem of artificially inflating prices is still acute. And before some, the doors are closed literally a stone’s throw away from receiving the coveted subsidy.

Problem or “dummy”

“If at the beginning of the program there were about 500 participants, and we had to “pull them up”, then last year we received 5100 applications. And now for 2013 there are already 10,000 applications. These figures show that people have accepted the program, that they believe in its effectiveness,” the official assured.

Nevertheless, despite the huge number of applicants, not everyone reaches the desired finish line. One of the reasons, the participants themselves call a sharp rise in prices in the real estate market during the period of granting subsidies. “Requests come from young families who say that, they say, “you gave the program, but as soon as the implementation begins, prices skyrocket, we counted on one thing, but we get another, and, of course, there is not enough money,” Andrey Basov said. . – On the one hand, we understand that the program is not designed to give free housing to young people, it is a support, and not a small one, about 40 percent of the cost of an apartment. On the other hand, we can’t control the process of rising prices in any way, except for exhortations from developers. The only thing we can do is to motivate developers to build more housing as much as possible, which will relieve pressure on the market. The number of offers will increase, competition will increase, and, of course, prices will not rise so sharply.”

A kind of “seasonal” increase in prices in the real estate market is also noted by bankers: the number of applications for mortgages during periods when participants of the social program enter the market increases sharply.

Realtors assure that all this is “creating a problem from scratch.”

“The validity of these certificates is about nine months, and the program participant can use it at any time convenient for him. Moreover, today sellers, in contrast to the situation two years ago, have confidence in both young families and the government that payment obligations will be fulfilled,” says Director of the Russian Academy of Sciences “Etazhi” Ildar Khusainov . – I did not see any excitement in the market. Yes, there was growth in July-August, but now everything is smooth. In addition, the purchase process is lengthy, it does not happen in one day or even a month: you need to find, decide on an apartment, a bank, and so on. It’s all a contrived problem.”

According to the expert, no one prevents young families from using their certificate at a time of calm in the market.

But even if the problem with the direct relationship between the issuance of certificates and rising housing prices is far-fetched, there is another one.

When a “young” family becomes an “old” one

The “Young Family” program, or, to be more precise, the subprogram “Providing housing for young families” of the federal target program “Housing”, is somewhat modified every year. Last but not least, age restrictions. Both spouses must be at least 35 years of age to be eligible.

“There is a paragraph in the regulation on the conditions for participation in the Young Family program that says that if at the time of receiving funds one of the spouses turns 36 years old, then the family can no longer apply for a subsidy. And these are not our requirements, these are federal requirements,” Andrey Basov said.

According to unofficial data, there are about 240 such “aged” families in Tyumen alone. Naturally, the real figure is not announced anywhere. Moreover, people accept an application for participation in the program, knowing that at the time of issuing a subsidy, their age will become “unsuitable”. There is no question of getting a subsidy ahead of time.

“Although 95 percent of the program is financed from the local budget, it is nevertheless federal. And until this money arrives, we have no right to start issuing certificates,” the official assured. Here are just a few nuances. The first concerns age restrictions. Indeed, in the regulations for the Tyumen region there is a clause that clearly states that “a participant in the subprogram is a young family, including an incomplete young family consisting of one young parent and one or more children, meeting the following conditions: a) the age of each of the spouses or one parent in an incomplete family on the day of application for participation in the subprogram does not exceed 35 years.

In the federal program, this paragraph sounds somewhat different: “A participant in the subprogram can be a young family, including an incomplete young family, consisting of one young parent and one or more children, meeting the following conditions: a) the age of each of the spouses or one parent in an incomplete family does not exceed 35 years.

And the second nuance concerns directly the refusal to issue a subsidy.

Federal and local documents stipulate that a refusal to issue a subsidy is a failure to comply with the above points. But in Tyumen, this interpretation received a new sound.

11 families applied to the court of the Tyumen region with a demand to invalidate the clause in the decision of the regional government, because of which they were excluded from the program.

“This is point 6.4.1, which refers to the possibility of excluding families from the subprogram at any stage. Families were expelled on the basis of exceeding the age of 35 during the period when they were already participants in the program, – says one of the victims Larisa Kudryavtseva . – We applied in May last year, and in August of this year we were excluded from the program. Of course, age changes. But the program has been going on for more than one year. In federal law, age was checked at the time of entry into the program, and was not limited in any way by time; in local law, this qualification must be met at the time of application. By the way, at the moment it is, and they still accept people, knowing that their age is close to the border. But we must remember that under federal law there is no exception. That is, if the family has already been recognized as needy, if the state has already assumed such obligations, then it must fulfill them, and not refuse under the pretext of circumstances that cannot but change over time.

In this situation, the regional court recognized the legitimacy of the young families’ claims. But since the decision will come into force on October 9, it’s too early to rejoice. I would like to add to the above that there are still reserve lists where people sometimes stand for more than one year. And every day they, unfortunately, are not getting any younger.

    After reading the article in Komsomolskaya Pravda, I immediately remembered the material of two years ago devoted to the same program on the site rom.by “BIOS Trojan from Absolute Software”. It described the mechanism for placing and operating in BIOS a software module for network activation of programs for remote control and monitoring of a computer system. So the topic is not new, it just didn’t even cross my mind that the military was buying such “scorched” equipment.

    Intrigued, I went to the site of the program developer and read – the program sends geolocation data to a remote server, has the ability to remotely lock the computer and erase information from disks by commands from the Absolute Software servers. In addition, a full cycle of remote laptop management is possible, from updating BIOS, installing and removing any programs, and ending with reinstalling the OS. The official purpose of the program is to prevent data leakage and the use of a laptop if it is stolen or lost.

    The software part of the Computrace LoJack system consists of two modules, the first one is written into the BIOS at the stage of computer production, and the second one is loaded from the network if the computer owner decides to use the Computrace LoJack program. Moreover, this service is not free, you need to pay about $50 for an annual subscription to Absolute Software services.

    Altruism is not characteristic of business, free activation of a paid service indicates that the information received justifies the financial costs (free does not mean “free”), I think it’s also clear who pays for information …

    Looking at the image of the Getac A790 rugged laptop, I immediately remembered a similar gray box seen on the site of one of the customers, it was pushed into a corner, covered in dust, and it seemed that it had not been used for a long time. I wanted to “feel” the machine myself, and on my next visit to the customer, I immediately went to this dusty box.

    I open and disbelieve my eyes, this is not a Getac A790 laptop, judging by the nameplate on the front panel, the Russian computer MVK-2, moreover, on the label all the data about the model and manufacturer, where it is written that this product is manufactured by InfoPro ” in 2011. In addition, a special check holographic sticker flaunts on the laptop.

    For those who don’t know, I’ll explain, special checks and special studies are necessary procedures (and very expensive ones) in order for equipment to appear at secret facilities and in the troops. After these checks, the technique is considered safe from the point of view of leaks of secret and confidential information and can be used at secret and protected facilities.

    The box intrigued me and I just couldn’t turn it on, my hands reached for the keyboard, I turn it on, the initialization splash screen appears on the screen and everything immediately falls into place – a classic version of “business in Russian”.

    InfoPro did not even bother to rewrite its own initialization screensaver in the BIOS, and on the Russian computer MVK-2 the name is proudly displayed: Getac A790.

    I was not too lazy and filmed this “miracle” on my mobile phone, here it is.

    Immediately it became even more interesting, MVK-2 is not some kind of “left” Getac A790. MVK-2 is a Mobile Computing Complex, the main protected computer of the Armed Forces of Russia, a domestic development, there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of them in the troops …

    Well, about the domestic development and domestic assembly, everything immediately became clear to me, but after special research and special checks (as evidenced by a holographic sticker) there is a program from Absolute Software, I was wondering. Taking advantage of my free time, without even asking the customer (I confess, I’m a sinner), I scanned the BIOS for the signature of the Computrace LoJack program, which I took from an article on the rom.by website. I wasn’t even surprised when I found them there. InfoPro engineers did not delete anything from the BIOS of their computers, and all special studies did not reveal the presence of this official “bookmark” in MVK-2.

    The stupidity of the manufacturer was amazing, there are official programs for assembling / disassembling the BIOS, you can remove any module from the BIOS, or insert it without problems, which prevented InfoPro specialists from inserting their own screen saver and cutting out the scandalous module from the BIOS? This procedure was mastered by all domestic assemblers, it is not unique…

    Unfortunately, the machine was not connected to the Internet or to the local network, so it was not possible to look at the network activity on IP addresses in order to find out what the status of the Absolute Software service is.

    The only thing I did was take a picture of the device manager screens in the Sandra program in order to deal with the equipment inside the mobile computing complex at my leisure (this is how MVK-2 is officially called). There was a feeling that someone was paying $50 bucks to activate the Computrace LoJack program for a reason, there are more bookmarks in this thing.

    I immediately noticed the Broadcom network chip installed in MVK-2. According to the manufacturer’s codes, it went to a specific Broadcom BCM 5752 chip.

    Actually, Broadcom has a whole line of BCM 57xx chips, in addition, it also produces expansion boards with these chips on board. Chips of this family have appeared on many hacker sites, and Hacker magazine wrote about it at least twice last year. There was an article “A rootkit in a network card: a programmer’s fantasies about creating an invincible rootkit” and more specific news with a link to a successful exploit: “A rootkit in a network card” by a French researcher.

    This chip has its own flash memory (you can also connect an additional external flash memory on a dedicated SPI interface), its own RAM, its own RISC processor.

    In fact, this is a computer in a computer, and the programs flashed inside its flash memory are executed both on its own built-in RISC processor and on the central processor of the computing installation, during system initialization ( advanced BIOS on peripheral controllers).

    According to the documentation, there is only 16KB of flash memory inside the chip, but an additional 8MB of programs and data can be placed on the external interface. Can you imagine how much you can “cram” in total?

    In conjunction with the Computrace LoJack program, such a network chip can do anything … You can find out the contents of the flash memory of this chip only on a tool stand, and even then it’s not a fact that it will work out. I again had an attack of spy mania, but not virtual, but network.

    I look closely at the block diagram of the chip, I can say I drill it with my eyes, and finally it dawns on me – TPM Security Core is a TPM module! TRM 1.2 standard module connected to LPC interface.

    The presence of a TPM module in a Russian secure computer is nonsense, it is legally prohibited even to import equipment with such modules, the only option is that the chip may be present on the board, but must be physically disabled at the production stage and be inoperable.

    Formally, the ban is based on the use of foreign-developed cryptographic algorithms in these TPM modules. The true reason for the ban is that TPM modules are a means of generating and storing keys that have a key unique for each chip (PRIVEK) at the root of the chain of trust, which is the root encryption key according to the RSA algorithm (its secret part).

    This key is non-removable, only the chip manufacturers know it, and in theory no one else. But, all producers of crypto-means without fail have contacts with special services, I think it is not necessary to explain who will store duplicates of these keys ?.

    Knowing the root key for a particular TPM module allows decrypting the contents of the TRM module memory and, in addition, always accurately localizes the location of a particular computing installation in the network space.

    I wanted to check the presence of TPM module activity on MVK-2, it’s easy to do, there are two possibilities for this. There is a special object in the system ASPI tables that describes the presence of a TPM module, but this is only a mark in memory. The device may be present, but there may not be any entries in the tables about its presence, so this method is not reliable enough, and besides, if it is not in the tables, the OS will not see it either and, accordingly, will not use it.

    The second method is much more reliable, any device interacts with the rest of the computer system components through registers, if these registers are active (they can be read and written to), then the device is operational. In theory, a module that is disabled under TPM production conditions should not have operable registers. It’s easy to check, all TPM registers of the 1.2 standard module are located on the system bus in a fixed address space 0FED4_0000h – 0FED4_FFFFh, I didn’t come up with this, it’s written in the standard.

    Turning on the investigated MVK-2 again, I already had at hand a program for viewing registers on the system bus (of course, of my own production).

    The expected result was confirmed, the TPM registers of the module were in working order. Only here the information in them did not correspond to the specification. Keyboard scancodes were found in one of the active registers…

    It looked like information about the scancode of the last key pressed was stored in the registers designed for the TRM module operation, and this already resembled a hardware keylogger.

    Is this quite possible, since the keyboard controller and the TPM module are located on the same interface – LPC, and this interface is made according to the serial connection scheme of all devices connected to it. In fact, the TPM module was turned into a sniffer that listens to the LPC bus and stores information from the keyboard in its registers.

    The keylogger in MVK-2 is certainly cool, can I be wrong – certainly, since this is a preliminary result of an external study. If you could get inside this machine, then you can either prove it or disprove it, in any case, you need to figure it out, but I don’t have such an opportunity …

    A logical question, maybe someone has already figured it out and came to the conclusion that everything is fine – is it possible to work?

    I doubt that specialists who are not able to change the splash screen in the BIOS, who do not know about the tab in the BIOS of the Computrace LoJack program, are unlikely to even know about TRM modules, not to mention understand their specifications.

    So this untested equipment continues to arrive in Russia under the proud name “Mobile Computing Complex MVK-2” and carries on its board both an explicit tab and an untested hardware keylogger. And these complexes are completed with very important objects and products, here is one of the examples downloaded from the Internet:
