Team leader manages a development team, usually in software companies. This is more of a position than a profession, but in any case, leadership qualities are needed for it. By the way, the ProfGid career guidance center has recently developed an accurate career guidance test that will tell you which professions suit you, give an opinion about your personality type and intelligence.
The profession is suitable for those who are interested in computer science (see.

Short description
Team leader (from the English team leader – captain, team leader) is the leader of the development team. Like any leader in various fields, the team leader performs managerial functions, his area of responsibility:
- conclusion of an agreement with a client;
- record keeping;
- estimation of volumes, budget and planning of work terms;

And the most key point, without which no work process is possible, is the team’s motivation for success, the ability to inspire by personal example.
The team leader has not only managerial powers in his work. He must also master the technical side of the matter. Despite the fact that he himself is engaged in the technical development of the project and its architecture for only about a third of the working time, the team leader must know and understand what is happening with the project, at what stage of development it is, must be able to reasonably accept or reject the proposals and ideas of the team developers.
Team lead technical competencies include:
- transformation of a business task into a technical task understandable to developers;
- responsibility for the quality and technology of project execution;
- development, testing, project design;
- understanding the nature of emerging problems, their recognition and solution.
Teamlead is not an honorable completion of the career ladder in IT with steps from junior to senior. This is just the beginning of a true understanding of where you want to go next.
