Veteran and talented actress Roberts was born on October 28, 1967 in Smyrna, Georgia. She was born as Julia Fiona Roberts to deceased parents Betty Lou Bredemus (1934–2015) and Walter Grady Roberts (1933–1977). She is of mixed ethnicity: English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, German and Swedish. Although she was raised in the Catholic religion, her father was a Baptist and her mother a Catholic. She has two siblings: Eric Roberts and Lisa Roberts Gillan. She also had a younger half, Nancy Motes, who died in 2014.
Her parents divorced in 1972 when she was only five years old. That same year, her mother remarried Michael Motes. After that, she moved to Smyrna, Georgia and enrolled at Fitzhugh Lee Elementary School. She later transferred to Griffin High School and then to Campbell High School. Her stepfather was abusive and usually remained unemployed. So in 1983, her mother and stepfather separated and went their separate ways. Meanwhile, her biological father died of cancer in 1977.
During her school years, she played the clarinet in her school band, dreaming of becoming a veterinarian. However, she later changed her dream career to acting and dropped out of Georgia State University. In August and September 2021, our colleague Anastasia Moskvina acted as a trainer for several regional business accelerators aimed at developing social entrepreneurship. Among them are training programs in the Lipetsk and Kaliningrad regions. The organizer was the international social laboratory VEIA.
On April 27, 2021, our colleague Anastasia Moskvina became one of the 7 speakers at the 11th fundraising conference in St. Petersburg. 7 speakers are 7 different approaches to building relationships with donors and partners. The general theme is impact investment.
Our colleague Anastasia Moskvina hosted the webinar “Impact Investments and Social Finance” by order of the Center for Social Innovations in St. Petersburg. These non-standard forms of financing social projects are just beginning to take root in Russia. Andrey Senov, commercial partner of Alt-Invest Group, and Andrey Udalov, director of Agat, a private Youth Entrepreneurship Support Fund, acted as invited speakers.
Anastasia Moskvina, Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at the Higher School of Economics, took part in the 1st Forum of Social Entrepreneurs of the Pskov Region. She acted as a moderator of the Social Business50+ platform and presented an overview of the work of the NRU HSE CSP at the final plenary session in the discussion of infrastructure platforms – together with the Our Future Foundation, the SP RSSU Center, regional authorities and social entrepreneurs of the Pskov region.
