Friends and family describe Blake as a cheerful and cheerful young man; easily shares his friendly, funny and sociable nature with others.
Exploring his future as a teenager, Blake began to become a man of his own. His enthusiasm for music is firmly entrenched, and he has been active in several sports, including riding his off-road bike on local trails and skateboarding around the neighborhood. He secretly expanded his style with a small tattoo hidden on his chest and a bold lip piercing, but was otherwise quite popular in his life so far. Blake has struggled with money in the past, but Blake has been involved in various money making projects ranging from reselling Monster drinks at school to saving soda cans to earn money for his off-road motorcycle.
Significantly, Blake has begun to explore his relationship with the opposite sex and has recently come out of a rather complicated relationship. Previously, in May 2011, Blake and his mother Melissa Becker lived in Clayton County, an area encompassing the southern parts of Atlanta, Georgia.

While there, Blake became involved in a custody dispute when his then-girlfriend had an argument with her mother and ran away from home. She came to Blake for help and he tried to convince her to return to her family and they ended up riding his bike to find a way to contact her mother.
Unfortunately, her stepfather found the two first, and the situation quickly deteriorated. The exact details of the situation are unclear, but it appears that her armed stepfather was after Blake and the girl, threatening Blake with death. He arrived with two other men armed with a pistol. He then attacked Blake, punching and kicking him in the head before taking the girl away in his car. The attack was horrific for Blake and left him with a possible concussion (he couldn’t afford to see him in the hospital) and signs of selective mutism when he was scared or in stressful situations (Link).
In a somewhat unexpected chain of events, instead of blaming the stepfather for assault, the police accused Blake as an adult of interfering with custody.
The parents of a sixteen-year-old girl accused Blake of kidnapping her, and at seventeen he was considered an adult. Although this information cannot be confirmed, the person posted on Reddit that he is Blake’s mother and discusses his suspicions about the incident:

Blake did spend a couple of weeks in jail before being released on bail, with a trial set for October 24, a few days after he disappeared. The result of the case was that the prosecution eventually dropped the charges after the girl agreed to stay at home and the stepfather agreed to leave Blake alone. It is difficult to prove whether the stepfather had ties to the local police, but the situation did create a stir and raised questions from the public regarding his involvement or police involvement when Blake disappeared in October of that year.
Meanwhile, Blake and his mother moved to Senoia, Georgia in the summer of 2011, where they lived with her then-boyfriend. They severed ties with Clayton County due to threats against Blake and fears of ongoing retaliation.
Blake was now dating a new girl, Rion Cameron, from nearby Newnan, and was trying to start over. He was happy to focus on his new friends and school and try to put aside his fears about the upcoming trial.
As the fall of 2011 began to spread to both temperatures and leaves, homecoming evening approached Blake High School, promising an unforgettable night. October 15 began with excitement and enthusiasm as the East Cowet High School students began dressing up and making plans for their pre- and post-party meetings. Blake arranged to attend a dance with Rion before ending the night by staying overnight at his new friend Austin Harmon’s house in Newnan. This will be the first time since the attack that Blake has spent the night away from home, but he promised his mother that he would not leave the house. “The best plans of mice and humans often go awry (Robert Burns) .
Before embarking on this story, it is important to understand how the key locations in this story were located.
In the old days, rural towns tended to develop relatively close together, often within a day’s ride on horseback (averaging 10 miles or so apart). Since many of these small villages are not large enough to house their own schools, it is not uncommon for regional schools to be located in a central area where children from neighboring towns come to study.
In this case, Blake and his mother Melissa lived in Senoia, a town west of Sharpsburg, where he attended East Cowet High School. However, many of the events described in this article took place in a town called Newnan, which is still a little further east and where Blake’s best friend and girlfriend lived.
Blake and his girlfriend interacted frequently during the day when he went to the mall with his mom to pick up a tie that matched Rion’s dress. Blake opted for a classic black and white ensemble, save for a brief splash of color from his tie.
He was finally ready to impress when Melissa dropped him off at Rion’s house.
Rion’s mother (Shannon) drove the couple to a local Japanese steakhouse at around 5:30 (5:30 pm) and then picked them up again around 7:00 (7:00 pm) to head to high school.
The party began with the children having fun all night dancing and taking pictures of their happy memories. Blake and Rion had a great time and Blake subsequently called his mother talking about how he enjoyed the evening.

Eventually they got exhausted and Shannon came back to pick up Black and Rion and take them back to Newnan at about 10:30 (10:30 pm). The couple spent an hour or so watching TV before it was time for them to end the evening. Shannon drove Blake to Austin’s house around 11:30 (11:30 p.m.), Blake accidentally left his dress shirt at Cameron’s house.
Timeline (October 15)
- 5:30 (5:30 pm) – Blake and Rion have dinner at Tokyo’s Steakhouse in Newnan.
- 7:00 (19:00) – Blake and Rion drive to East Cowet High School.
- 10:30 (10:30 pm) – Shannon takes Blake and Rion to the Camerons’ house in Newnan.
- 11:30 (11:30 pm) – Shannon drives Blake to Austin Harmon’s home in Newnan.
It was at this point that Blake called his mother and confirmed that he had arrived at Austin’s and would stay overnight. He shouldn’t have left, but the excitement of the night seemed to keep him and his friends awake until early the next morning.
Blake and Austin went to the nearest BP gas station but found it closed and returned to Austin’s house. Then they chatted with each other and friends on the phone for a while. At some point around 2:00–3:00 the next morning, Blake set off back into the night, heading back to Rion’s house. At this point, he was wearing boxers, a white tank top, black pants, and a white T-shirt.
According to Austin, he borrowed a jacket and also took a spare key to Austin’s house with him when he returned. He apparently left behind a black backpack with some personal care items (such as deodorant), a penknife, and a phone charger.
His route was from Austin’s home in Summer Grove near Highwoods Parkway to Rion’s home in Avondale Circle along Vanderbilt Parkway. Although his exact route is unknown, the typical trip was about 3 miles, which took about an hour on foot. Many believe that he would have chosen the Lower Fayetteville route shown below rather than Summer Grove Boulevard, with which he was not necessarily familiar. But the true path is simply unknown.
Distance may vary. The exact route Blake took and the exact addresses of the houses are not clear. This is just to give a general idea.
According to her statement, Blake got to Rion’s house at about 4:30 am and sneaked out her bedroom window to talk to her some more. She recalls that it was very cold that morning, and Blake was very cold when he arrived.
At this point, she remembers that he was not wearing Austin’s jacket (or, presumably, with him), but instead was wearing a white hoodie with Aeropostale in brown (a shirt that Austin said he was not wearing). dressed when he left). The sweatshirt was originally in his backpack, but it’s unclear how he got it without Austin noticing.
According to Rion, the night before they discussed their plans for a new meeting at 11:30 that same day. Blake wasn’t supposed to be in her room at that time, so when Rion’s grandmother walked in on both of them, Rion agreed that he should leave and headed back to Austin around 5:00 AM.
Knowing that he and Rion were in trouble, Blake began texting her and her mother to apologize for the unauthorized meeting. Shannon let him know that everything would be fine, but he was still texting Rion apologizing as he walked home.
At about 5:30, Blake notified Rion that he was near the bridge, but a policeman had just stopped to talk to him. While there is no evidence to support this, it is likely that he was near the bridge over White Oak Creek at this time.
He then texted her again a few minutes later to say that the officer looked at his ID and then moved on. He then sent her another message, complaining about how cold it was outside; nothing more was heard from him.
The exact events that took place between leaving his girlfriend’s house and Austin’s home, where he was supposed to arrive, is a question that remains unanswered more than two decades later.
Chronology (October 16)
- 2:00 am – Blake texts Rion that he’s on his way to her.
- 2:00–3:00 — Blake leaves Austin in his jacket and white T-shirt.
- 4:30 — Blake comes to see Rion in a white hoodie.
- 5:00 – Blake and Rion are left alone in her room, and Blake starts walking back to Austin.
- 5:30 — Blake texts Rion that he was stopped by a cop. The officer apparently leaves and Blake sends his final text. Nothing more is heard of him.
According to Shannon, she and her husband stayed in bed until she got up around 6:30 am to talk to Rion.
Shannon and Rion tried to message Blake after his last message, but became worried when there was no word from him by mid-morning. Shannon’s husband (Matt) left the house around 8:00 a.m. with a friend to set up a hunting ground they were renting in Heard County. At that time, he did not have a weapon with him.
At 9:30 am, Rion tried to call Austin to see if Blake was still at home. Austin was still in bed, but got up to see if Blake was home. When Austin couldn’t find Blake either, Shannon, Rion, Matt, and Austin began searching the area for any trace of him or his route.
Finally, at about 11:00 a.m., Austin notified the police that Blake was missing, and Blake’s family was notified by 11:30 a.m.
The family filed a missing persons report the same day and a search began as law enforcement began a missing persons investigation. Unfortunately, the following weeks brought no new information and no indication of where Blake might have gone.
There were several potential sightings, but none of them could be confirmed by the police.

Approximately five weeks after Blake disappeared, Melissa got a call and the person on the other line was sitting and refusing to speak. The call lasted several minutes, and Blake’s mother could hear background sounds, but no voices. She still wonders if this call was related to Blake’s kidnappers (Link).
The initial investigation was also hampered by concerns that Blake might have fled due to concerns about the upcoming court case he was facing.
Two months after his disappearance, on the afternoon of December 19, people walking along Summer Grove Boulevard were crossing the bridge over White Oak Creek when they made a heartbreaking discovery. They called 911 and the police soon arrived. A few days later, the tragic news became known – Blake was found face down in the stream, dead and naked, except for a white T-shirt, boxers and a piercing on his lip.
The cause of death was homicide as a result of a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
In the years since Blake’s murder, law enforcement has kept the details of the case under wraps, leaving much of the story unknown.
They were unable to find Blake’s clothes and belongings (such as his phone, ID card and wallet) and they are still missing, making physical evidence difficult to locate.
Police investigated Blake’s phone records, but did not discuss any attempts to locate him. It is not clear from Blake’s text whether the person he spoke to was in a uniform/marked car, or if the person was in normal clothes but told him he was a police officer. Law enforcement says they do not believe any of their agency’s officers had records of interactions with Blake, although they remain unclear as to how thoroughly they have investigated this account (Link).
There is some question as to how thoroughly the police officers in the area were searched, other than confirming that no one reports interaction.
Blake’s movements seemed unplanned and unexpected, making it difficult to understand intentionality. To the best of the police’s knowledge, he did not tell anyone the route he was taking, and the only person he spoke to that morning was Rion and her mother. There are only a limited number of people who will be outside at 5:00 on a cold winter morning, driving around the city to pass the time. Of course, city, county, or government employees fit into this category.
In any case, there are no known suspects at this time, or at least none have been made public by the police. Two people of interest (names unknown) have been vetted by the police, and a third cannot be placed in the area at the time of Blake’s disappearance. It is not clear if Blake’s ex-girlfriend’s stepfather was acquitted, though some sources suggest he was.
If so, it is not known how they confirmed his alibi. Police are currently offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Blake’s killer.
Police report that there was some decomposition (suggesting an earlier death), but the exact time of death could not be determined. The time of death listed on his death certificate was 6:00 am. December 16, 2011 when he disappeared. While the exact time may not have been given, this seems to suggest that they believe the murder happened relatively quickly, rather than a kidnapping case that turned into a murder. How close they managed to pick up the exact date is unknown.
Although they admit that he was killed by someone shooting at close range, the police only said that the caliber was between 22 and 45 and was not a shotgun. They said it wasn’t a shotgun. They did not name any injuries, except for a gunshot.

WHERE AND HOW THE FILM “SHINE, SHINE CLEAR” WAS MADE. Locations, makeup, costumes and special effects.
Filming for SHINE BRIGHT began in Georgia in March 2018. The film was filmed at various locations in the southern states, which filmmakers passed off as the neighborhood of a provincial farming town in Kansas, where Brandon grew up after his spacecraft made an emergency landing on Earth.
Brier’s house was found in the town of Newnan – the farm was in the middle of a field, and a pond was dug nearby. “It was a very old house with a lot of history,” says production designer Patrick M. Sullivan Jr. about the building of the beginning of the XIX century, in which most of the film takes place. “We hung wallpaper here and there to create a charming Midwestern and rural atmosphere. We wanted to create a sense of calm and peacefulness before the frenzy kicks in.
We needed to show isolation from the outside world so that no one would doubt that Brandon’s victims were helpless. The location is very secluded.”
“Bryer Farm can tell the story of an entire generation, and Elizabeth wanted to feel her character in this space,” Jaroveski adds. – Tori has her own little hobby – she is fond of grunge, so in the interior of the house punk rock more or less harmoniously combined with American farm life. It’s like someone splashed bright watercolor on an American pastoral.”
Sullivan Jr. designed the film sets in classic American style. The artist used colors typical of comics, but made them deeper to emphasize the dark component of the plot. Designer Autumn Steed was asked to design Brandon’s costume, which would eloquently declare that the superhero turns to the side of evil. In her work, the designer used various shades of blue and red. “We wanted the colors of the clothes to tell their story,” she explains. – Blue is identified with Brandon’s life on Earth, and red – with his hostile alien entity.
As the character became more violent, we added more red to the gamut.”
When Brandon learns about his inhuman abilities, he decides to make himself a costume – a mask and a cloak. Over the course of several months, Steed experimented with different designs, trying to find the right combination. “I knew from the very beginning that the costume had to combine the bravado of legendary superheroes with the darkness of old-school slashers – this became a key feature of the costume,” explains Steed. “We wanted to show that Brandon could make this suit himself. There should not have been a feeling that it was sewn by professionals. In the work we used shoelaces, strings and other materials that can be found in the barn.
Steed tried about 120 different designs and combinations of masks and capes, based on a tie-front wrestling mask. “The simplicity of the design we settled on became a major challenge for us,” the designer explains the paradox. “We wanted the costume to look like it was made by a teenager; to be scary; to look like a superhero costume.
” Ultimately, Steed opted for the soft yet durable material that Brandon was supposed to have had since childhood. “Brandon made his suit out of a blanket,” says the designer. – At the beginning of the film, this is his favorite “blanket”. From this material he makes both a mask and a cloak.
Brandon’s supernatural abilities helped the filmmakers to instill fear in the viewer. Director Steve Yarovesky notes that abilities such as levitation, laser vision, inhuman strength and unthinkable speed, reminiscent of teleportation, were the most terrible. “I wanted him to move like a fierce and unpredictable predator,” he says.
Yarovesky worked with the visual effects team at Trixter, who had previously worked with James Gunn on the effects of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2. Ultimately, it was decided to simplify the effect as much as possible. “We decided that it would be quite shocking to move from a distance at arm’s length, and focused on making this effect as realistic as possible.
”
The sound the cape made when Brandon attacked a victim has become a hallmark of horror films. Executive Producer Simon Hatt says, “In the films of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise, the audience always knew when Freddy Krueger was approaching by the distinctive sound of the blades scraping across the surface. In the movie BABADOOK, the demon also had a very specific sound. We used the sound of Brandon’s cloak fluttering as a signal that something terrible was about to happen. It seems like a ghost is flying in front of the camera.”
In one of the film’s scariest scenes, when Brandon decides to take revenge on an unsuspecting waitress at a local café, the raincoat barely comes into view. However, viewers immediately understand that the unfortunate waitress is doomed. When Brandon leaves this place, not a single whole piece of furniture remains in the cafe.
The plastic make-up for this scene was developed by Fractured FX, digital special effects were handled by Trixter.
In the scene, shards of broken glass dig into Brandon’s victim’s eye. For this episode, Fractured had to create a full-size cast of actress Becky Wahlstrom’s head, including a silicone eye filled with fake blood. “After the shot with the fake waitress head, Becky had to stand in front of the camera herself,” recalls Hatt. “With the help of a special effect, we cut out a plastic eye and fixed it on the actress’s eye socket to create the illusion that she was pulling the pieces out of her own eye.”
“At the end of the day, it was a combination of real and special effects that worked best,” Jaroveski says. “We got a kind of trick that the audience can’t figure out.”
During filming, all the actors were able to enjoy all the delights of a dynamic story, atmospheric filming, heartbreaking scenes, and some were even lucky enough to shoot stunt scenes. The scene of Tory’s brutal confrontation with Brandon, who gained full strength and turned into a bloodthirsty monster, was filmed over several weeks.
“Shooting the final fight between mother and son was a lot of fun for me because it was the climax of the film,” says Jaroveski. – In fact, we destroyed the house, and it was very cool. We set fire to huge metal plates, which were fixed on the walls, and then during the editing we finished painting Brandon flying through these walls. I remember how Elizabeth saw all this madness. I told her: “So, we will hang you at this window …”, and she told me: “Cool! Let’s do that! I’m ready!”
“These films are very physically demanding for the actors,” continues the director. – You have to run, crawl and constantly smear yourself with some kind of liquid. Horror movies exhaust literally everyone on the set. Not only is it physically difficult to film in them, they are also physically difficult to film.”
However, Banks was not afraid of difficulties. “I love doing all my own stunts,” the actress admits. – So at every opportunity I come off in full. Sometimes it’s a lot of fun.
