Afterschool Programming Manager
Seeking an Afterschool and Summer Program Manager to begin in August 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year. This is a full-time, year-round position that involves managing after school programming during the school year, and summer programming during the summer. This programming is grant-funded and the Program Manager will be responsible for managing grant funds, in addition to planning program activities and managing staff. This is a salaried ($50,000) position with full benefits offered. EL Learning
The Silverton Public School follows an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound (EL for short) academic model. EL provides a comprehensive framework to shape and guide our school’s structure and culture. Through this model, much of our academics are centered on learning expeditions. These expeditions and state curriculum standards provide a framework for study by focusing learning on a specific compelling topic; for example, the water cycle, history of U.
S. education, Africa, the 20th Century, or the food cycle. Given the small and isolated nature of the Silverton community, the fieldwork aspect of our EL learning model has become an important part of learning.
Focused trips are planned by teachers that bring the real world into their expedition topic studies, and take place throughout the four corners region and occasionally beyond. For example, in 2013-14, the middle school completed a year-long expedition on U.S. immigration, studying the historical aspect (Ellis and Angel Island) as well as current immigration issues. Their culminating fieldwork was a trip to San Francisco where they visited Angel Island, worked with students in refugee and immigrant schools, and toured Chinatown. These types of experiences bring a depth to their studies that cannot be accomplished in any classroom setting.

Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Paris, France
The Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School was founded in 1895 by the journalist Martha Distel.
In the same year, a demonstration of the world’s first electric stove took place in Paris. This action was aimed at promoting the educational institution. The best chefs in the world have taught at Le Cordon Bleu.
Today, Le Cordon Bleu received the honorary title of “Best Culinary Institute” from the World Culinary Awards. It is in 4th place in the list of the best culinary schools in the world. The educational institution successfully cooperates with organizations such as the Alliance Francaise Foundation, the International Association of Professional Culinary Arts (IACP), the World Association of Chefs Societies and many others.
Among the famous alumni of the school is the cook and writer Julia Child, laureate of the Order of the Legion of Honor. The educational institution also graduated from such famous chefs as Nancy Silverton, Gaston Acurio and others.
Le Cordon Bleu offers its students the following specializations: Culinary Arts and Business, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Gastronomy and Nutrition .
After completing the program, graduates can work as chefs in restaurants, open their own culinary business or devote themselves to restaurant criticism. They work in such large French and global companies as Arpege, Fauchon, Mandarin Oriental and many others.
The mission of the school is to train chefs and other world-class culinary professionals who will surprise the audience with new gastronomic and business discoveries.
Le Cordon Bleu currently has over 20,000 students.
Le Cordon Bleu provides its students with financial support in the form of grants and scholarships. Those who study cooking, management or wine production can apply for financial rewards. In addition, they can complete paid internships in large companies, which increases their chances of successful employment.
The main campus of the school is located in Paris. It has everything you need to learn modern culinary arts – 7 classes for learning pastry and baking, 3 showrooms, a wine room, a common space for students to relax, a workshop for classes with chefs, as well as its own boutique and cafeteria.
