INVESTIGATION OF THE TRAGEDY – Our Texas – Russian Newspaper in Houston, Dallas, San-Antonio, Austin, Texas

The Governor of Texas has ordered a full investigation into the tragedy at Uwald.

Children trapped in a classroom with a gunman called 911 repeatedly, there is a recording of a student’s voice pleading, “Please send the police now.” At this time, the police were already at the school, a stone’s throw from the dying children and teachers. Law enforcement officers waited more than an hour to enter the classroom, authorities said.

In addition, a few days before the incident, 18-year-old shooter Salvador Ramos posted on social networks a photo of two AR15 rifles, dozens of victims were shot from one and 21 people died. According to his classmate, the attacker sent him a photo of a weapon and a backpack with cartridges.

The special briefing took place after authorities provided conflicting and incomplete information for three days about the time span of over an hour between Ramos entering the school and when US Border Patrol agents opened the classroom door and killed him .

Superintendent of the School District Police in command at the scene in Uwald. He believed that Ramos had barricaded himself in the classroom next door at an elementary school, and that the children were no longer in danger. Stephen McCraw, head of the Texas Department of Public Safety, announced this at a controversial press conference, adding that “it was the wrong decision.

Three local policemen were found to have followed Ramos to the school building two minutes later. Within half an hour, 19 more entered the corridor outside.armed officers from different agencies. But another 47 minutes elapsed before the Border Patrol task force forced down the door.

Two law enforcement officers reported that when a gunman opened fire on the students, law enforcement officers from other departments called on the head of the school police to allow them to take part in the operation because the children were in danger. One of the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, said that audio recordings from the scene recorded employees from other agencies telling the school district police chief that the shooter was still active and the priority was to stop him.

The investigation legitimately questioned how long it took to enter the school to confront the shooter, and why it took so long to break down the door to the classroom where the tragedy occurred, and small children smearing themselves with the blood of dead friends and pretending to be dead – in order to get a chance to survive.

Ramos arrived at the school at 11:28 a.m. but was only shot dead at 12:50 p.m., despite the fact that during the attack, teachers and children repeatedly called 911 for help and shots were heard, McCraw confirmed.

According to the new timeline provided by McCraw, it appears that after Ramos left his wrecked car, he shot two people exiting a nearby funeral home.

Contrary to earlier statements by officials, the school district police officer was not at the school when Ramos arrived. When this officer was questioned, it turned out that he unknowingly drove past Ramos, who was hiding behind a parked car and was already firing at the school building.

According to McCraw, at 11:33 a.m. Ramos entered the school through the open back door and fired more than 100 shots at two classrooms. Nobody knows why the door was open. Three police officers entered through the same door 2 minutes later, and 15 minutes later a crowd of various law enforcement officers gathered in the corridor and subjected Ramos to “sporadic” shelling while he was sitting in the classroom.

Ramos was still inside at 12:10 pm when the first representatives of the US Marshals Service arrived. They rushed to the school almost 70 miles from the Del Rio border, the agency said. But school district police chief Pete Arredondo decided the group should wait to confront the shooter, believing the classroom was no longer the site of an active assault, McCraw said.

The crisis, according to McCraw, ended at 12:50 pm after border guards used the janitor’s keys to unlock the classroom door, entered the room, and shot Ramos dead. It was previously reported that Ramos was shot dead by a Border Patrol agent passing by the school.

At a press conference on Wednesday, May 25, Gov. Greg Abbott “commended the response of the police.” He praised law enforcement for their “quick response” and “amazing courage as they rushed to the sound of gunfire.” But on Friday, Abbott said he was “misled.” In earlier statements, the governor told reporters that he was “repeating what he was told” and “the information that was given turned out to be partially inaccurate. ” Now he believes that what happened should be “thoroughly and comprehensively investigated.”

Texas continues to “pray for the victims and their families.” At an NRA meeting in Houston on the same day, speakers continue to say from the stage that changing US gun laws or further restricting access to firearms is “not the answer.” Senator Ted Cruz continues to call for a Wild West tactic – “bad armed guys can be stopped by good armed guys.”

Children continue to die.

US authorities will remove migrants from Texas, which has seen an influx of Haitian illegal immigrants over the past week. This is reported by BBC .

Over 10,000 people gathered in a makeshift camp under the bridge that connects Del Rio in Texas with the Mexican Ciudad Acuña. Local officials provided them with enough food or services. Last Friday, about 2 thousand people were sent to immigration centers.

The US government announced that it was going to send migrants home on Sunday. Authorities said the measure was introduced “so that illegal migrants can be quickly taken into custody” and removed from the United States “in accordance with the laws and policies” of the country.

Previously, the First Lady of Haiti, Martine Moise , told that she was supposed to die along with her husband, the President of the State, Jovenel Moise, during an assassination attempt in July this year. According to her, she is going to return to the country, despite the threat of another attack.

The assassination attempt on Jovenel Moise took place on the night of July 7, a group of people broke into the presidential residence and opened fire. As a result of the attack, the head of state was mortally wounded, and his wife was wounded in the arm and thigh – she was subsequently hospitalized in Miami (USA), where she still remains after being discharged from the hospital.
